Libbi - Review - Upper East Side - New York - The Infatuation

"From the Abaita team, Libbi is a Mediterranean kosher dairy restaurant on the Upper East Side. You’ll find everything from  pancakes with figs and orange marmalade to a spicy tomato pizza with shiitakes on the menu. They’re serving breakfast and lunch to start. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists. RESERVE A TABLE WITH RESERVE A TABLE" - Molly Fitzpatrick

You can truly taste the love and care they put into every dish. From start to finish, everything was exceptional, the service, the atmosphere, and of course, the food. We especially loved the Halibut and their homemade Gelato! We can’t wait to come back soon.

I was very happy to be able to visit Libbi during their soft opening. To begin, the space is beautiful. It’s well-designed, a little roomier than its brother restaurant Abaita, and is full of natural light and bright colors. Like Abaita, service is well-intentioned and polished. The waiters know the menu and can describe the dishes and make pointed recommendations. The shining star, of course, is the food. It is different than Abaita. The menu is broader and has more diverse options. There is less of a focus on the ‘traditional” Italian dishes. For example, we enjoyed a cheesy pasta gratin and Rosti Terrine. There is also a breakfast menu available, but we visited during lunch hours. Their menu certainly still features typical Italian flare. We enjoyed a spaghetti with pesto and pizzas. The pizza is unique: it’s very light and airy. It’s not like Abaita’s more Neapolitan-style pie. I can’t wait to see the full menu and Libbi during her full opening. This restaurant has much potential and will be a great addition to the kosher scene!

This Italian unique menu is the best I’ve eaten , every dish is so fresh , I also don’t eat gluten but because they make everything in house and it’s all sourdough as far as the gluten, I can eat it and no problem. I love the unique fish dishes and the potato appetizer

Libbi NYC is opening soon from the same team behind Abaíta—now billed as the “older sister”: more refined, personal, thoughtfully curated. Looks like the vibe will be elevated, blending cozy elegance with modern flair. Menu teasers mention dishes like Rosti Terrine with egg and Hollandaise, Tuna Toro with Jalapeño-Melon Salad, and a Spicy Tomato Pizza with mozzarella, shiitake, and garlic chili oil. Heartfelt cooking straight from the chef’s inspiration—and it’s OK Kosher, Chalav Yisrael, so kosher observant-friendly. Looks like a great addition to the neighborhood. Can’t wait to check it out!

We went opening week and everything was on point. Great twist on Abaita. Chef David was very gracious and came over to talk to us. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Libbi offers Euro-Mediterranean kosher dairy eats - if you're a fan of Abaita, this is its sister restaurant! Try the cheesy pasta gratin, the spaghetti with pesto, the rosti terrine, and the pizzas - they also have a breakfast menu, so we'd like to try that on the next visit. Staff were unbelievably sweet, and the space was bright and colorful with good amount of seating. +Euro-Mediterranean eats +friendly staff & service
