Libera - Review - Nomad - New York - The Infatuation

"In the basement of the Ace Hotel in Nomad, Libera is a wine bar. And also an art space. And they’ll also have DJs and parties. At this transformation of the hotel’s former Liberty Hall venue, you can also snack on things like tinned fish, charcuterie, and cheese. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Libera Wine Bar Has Opened in Nomad - Eater NY

"A wine bar in Nomad featuring small-producer wines, charcuterie, cheeses, and tinned seafood served via trolley. The interior is inspired by Italian design in the disco era, with vinyl DJ sets and video art." - Melissa McCart

Wow! I was really impressed with this dark, hidden, gem of a wine bar. It's in the basement of the Ace Hotel and there are no signs or directions on how to get there. You just kind of have to know. However, go downstairs toward the restrooms and hang a right and keep going. There will be three doors at the end of that hallway that are not marked. Go on in and have a great time. I went for a wine tasting event and I can't wait to go back to this place. I understand that they have a DJ and dancing late at night.

Love this wine bar! Since January I’ve been here a few times, always loved my experience. Saturdays they have DJs with great vibes. The Somm Max is always by your side for some unusual recommendations which hit every time. Finally a good spot in Flatiron which is worth the hype!!

Find Libera as a incredible hide away at the Broadway. Loud music, dimmed red lights and a spacious floor is giving you the intimacy and the vibe you need to: propose your girlfriend, get drunk with your boss, yap with your bestie or just remind after a tough day of work. Great hospitality and Max is a curator of good vibes and better wines! What a place to be!

newly opened and I was truly amazed by this experience!! The amazing wine selection shoves joy down your throat, with excellent service from the sommeliers. For food I recommend the Octopus in garlic & the Razor Clams in Brine can recommend

Delightful hidden spot which is exactly what you want from a wine bar. Stunning decor, intimate lighting, fab (but not loud) music, interesting wine and - most importantly - really great service.

My friend and I came from Toronto to stay at Ace Hotel and were super overwhelmed with everything in the city. We met Lucas at Libera and he was so kind and made us feel so welcome! He made our experience so much better. We saw him our second night here again and were so excited. What a kind and awesome person. We need more people like Lucas in the world!!

Since its opening, I’ve visited LIBERA a few times, and I must say: it is undoubtedly one of the finest newcomers in NYC. From its unique interior design to the excellent music selection, you’ll feel welcome from the very first moment. And if not, Max, the head sommelier, will charm you with his warm hospitality. The wine menu is a masterpiece in itself, offering an impressive selection of wines from "underdog" wineries alongside an astonishing variety of wines available by the glass for very reasonable prices. Simply a true gem and an absolute must-visit in NYC!

Yelp
LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. This is a realllll speakeasy considering the entrance is literally downstairs and next to the bathrooms of a hotel bar. My only thing is that bathrooms aren't knowing for smelling like flowers so the initial entrance is less than ideal. Once you're past coat check, you're golden. My expectations were completely surpassed when I visited. Every bit of the inside is gorgeous from the bar, which was full of empty wine bottles to create the illusion, to the vinyl showcased on the wall. We grabbed a glass of wine and left for our next stop, but the service was very quick and friendly! I liked that the vibe was super laid-back but still sophisticated. Looking forward to my next visit already!

Yelp
Another cute spot for a date or just vibe night with friends. It has a very speak easy vibe, basement of the ace hotel. This was a 2nd location of a night out. Make reservations, but we were able to get a table w/o mainly b/c I was sweet like saccharine...lol. You can enjoy a bottle with your date or friends. They a have a few wines that you can get by the glass. They also have a few classic cocktails you can order. I will definitely be back!
