"A focused, single-floor bookstore in central Paris devoted to French-language cookbooks and food literature—an excellent place to find specialized culinary titles that may not be widely available abroad; for vintage or rare food books, the Seine bouquinistes nearby also offer interesting finds." - Ajiri Aki

The 9 Best Souvenirs from Paris

"A specialty cookbook shop in Paris's 2nd arrondissement devoted entirely to culinary books and ephemera; notable for a rainbow display of slim '10 Façons de Préparer' paperbacks from Les Éditions de L'Épure, each focusing on a single ingredient or technique with ten preparation methods and contributions from well-known chefs and writers. The shop also carries culinary history titles, cheese posters, and a selection of English-language books, making it an ideal gift stop for food-enthusiast visitors." - Dayna Evans

Google
As a food enthusiast who loves cooking and exploring various cuisines, I was very excited to visit this bookstore—and it did not disappoint. I could have easily spent the entire day browsing. The selection of cookbooks in French was incredible, and for the first time, I truly regretted not knowing the language, as I wanted to take so many of them home. If you enjoy cooking, this is a must-visit destination for any amateur home chef.

Yelp
If it were possible to give 6 stars I would. Simply a brilliant resource for anyone into the culinary arts. Every visit we find numerous resources and we used to carry them home until the luggage was just getting unmanageable, shipping is so much easier. Isle after isle, bookcase after bookcase of both everyday publications to hard to find gems, they have them all. One visit a trip is never enough, we have a two visit minimum whenever in Paris. Fortunately they is a nice little cafe across the street for me to get refreshed while my chef partner spends a few hours reviewing all they have to offer. Simply a wonderful escape for a couple hours!

Yelp
When I die I hope to go to Librairie Gourmande heaven (as long as heaven also has a kitchen to cook in and, while I'm asking, my favorite people to cook for...). This double-decker shop is packed floor to ceiling with cookbooks covering every feasible cuisine. From Gluten Free and Haute Cuisine to Iranian and Japanese, they've got it all, including a fantastic selection of cross-disciplinary books on food design, food history, dieting, farming, food politics, etc. Not only do they cover the most culinary ground of any bookshop in Paris, they also have an incredibly knowledgeable, sweet staff that is eager to please. When I was researching a paper on food design I spent fifteen minutes speaking with a sprightly, whip-smart woman who had been there since the dawn of time and knew the place inside and out. This was before the shop got its much-needed face-lift. Even with its more modern, organized design, this place still is packed with personality and is any home cook's culinary wet dream.

Yelp
Rivals San Francisco's Omnivore Books as the best food book store ever! This place is a reading orgasm waiting to happen. I nearly bought LaRousse's Gastronomique. Le Sigh. I wish I would have done it. Perhaps next time. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I wanted to buy something just because they were so nice. Ah.. I could totally be there, right now!

Yelp
C'est un rêve pour tous les chefs gastronomes sérieux. In depth selections of food history, preparation techniques, presentation, mastering food lexicon. If, French cuisine is your interest. Librairie Gourmande is a great place to start. They have books in English, but most of it are in French. They have fun introductory kits for young chefs. Imagine, to make flan in 10 minutes. Bring out the inner chef in you!
