Lick Honest Ice Cream

Being an ice cream lover, my wife and I had to check out this cool little ice cream shop! Lick Honest Ice Creams definitely isn’t your average place. The flavors are wild — like Roasted Beet & Mint or Goat Cheese with Honey and Thyme. You can tell they put a lot of thought into it and use high-quality, local ingredients. That said… this place probably isn’t for everyone. If you’re someone who just wants a classic vanilla or chocolate chip, this might not hit the spot. The flavors are creative, but some are a little too out there for my taste. Staff was really friendly, vibe was chill, and the ice cream was super creamy. I’d say go if you’re in the mood to try something new — but maybe sample first if you’re picky!

Lick Honest Ice Creams is so, so delicious!! Their location within the Pearl is awesome. The staff are so kind + helpful, and they offer samples at the counter if there are any flavors you want to try!! The space is very clean & inviting, and it’s decorated so adorably inside. There are tables outside for gathering, in addition to some benches. The first time I visited, they had a variety of summer-inspired flavors available - the Blueberry Crumble + Cherry Limeade are delicious!!

Love that they have food allergens listed on each flavor, eliminates a lot of stress, annoying questions and makes ordering (gluten free) a breeze! So far the Goat Cheese & the Roasted Beet flavors are my go to! Although VERY sweet😳 the flavor is rich and unique!

Good, not great - ice cream was great, staff and atmosphere could be more inviting. If we are just rating the ice cream 5 of 5. However, you need to get the ice cream and thst was where we had a less than great experience. No one was mean of off putting, but they also weren't inviting or friendly at all. (-.5 star) Additionally, the atmosphere is sad, there is a roped line like you are waiting for a ride at an amusement park and not enough room for the lines of people. (-.5 star) Prices are fair for the quality of the product. Overall, I guess we'd have the ice cream again, and hopefully a better experience. Perhaps we will try the Austin locations.

Excellent artisanal ice creams, varieties worth trying, you can request a trial before ordering. In San Antonio there are no branches, very good and attentive service, average prices, I recommend that on your visit to La Perla, order a delicious ice cream at this place!!

Today Lick gets 3 stars. Staff wasn't friendly,tone of voice just felt like why are you asking me for a sample and response of half scoop just not welcoming. This place is usually a 4-5/5 sometimes 6/5 but the scoops were also weak in size like kids size. Maybe just an off weekend. Disappointed at the very least. Ps ice cream melted asap once through the door.

Some of the most refreshing ice cream I've had in a bit. I really enjoyed the waffle cone. It has a different flavor. Almost like it was fresh baked just for me. The hill country honey and vanilla bean and the Carmel salt lick together just made it absolutely perfect. Very refreshing on a Hot summer day.

Amazing ice cream shop! The ice cream flavors are wild - Ladybird lavender, Goat cheese, thyme and lavender…! They make you want to try something different. The service was great, prices were reasonable and product was amazing. I got Lemon sugar cookie and my daughter got the Ladybird lavender. So good!

Good stuff. I mean it was $25 for 4 singles (1 scoop in a cup) and an iced tea, so it better be good. Quick service. My boys tried a few different samples before picking and it was all good stuff. I got the Bourbon Pecan Blondie. It was bourbon flavor with pecans and nice size bits of blondies in it. That was soooo good! Nothing bad to say, they were out of hand sanitizer but whatever. The ice cream was cold and hit the spot!

The best ice cream I have ever had. It was so good. I got the goat milk icecream and I can't stop thinking about it. Place is small and busy but the service still so good. They don't rush you to order even though the line is long!

Love Lick! They have such incredible flavors sourced locally and made locally! Love that there is always a vegan option which tastes just as great as the others. The service is always friendly and patient as you sample your way through trying to decide (it's so hard to decide). They have a loyalty stamp card which comes in handy! A great business and super cute inside.

The dairy free tart toasted coconut was bomb! I only ordered a small single scoop, but that one scoop transported me to summer afternoon eating a coconut key lime pie. Toasted coconut ice cream paired with lemon-lime curd....the combo was to die for. It had lots of toasted coconut too. I'll have to order a bowl of it next time lol I received an email for $5 off my next visit, yay! And they do offer military discount.

This plaza Lick is in is called "The Pearl," but I just can't help myself. Growing up a Pirates of the Caribbean fan, how could I not say "The Black Pearl." I lowkey still play that theme music when I really need to lock in. I kept on wanting to crack Jack Sparrow jokes, but we were meeting my buddies' girlfriend and I didn't want her to think I was insane. Plus, I know they weren't that funny so I kept them to myself. Lick, located in the heart of the Black Pearl, delivered one of my favorite ice cream flavors I've had in a MINUTE. Blueberry crumble. It actually tasted like real blueberry, and had little bites of actual crumble sprinkled in. I paired it with a honey vanilla bean flavor and it was oddly reminiscent of a Tony Parker and Manu Ginobli pairing. All the ingredients are locally sourced, AND IT SHOWS! Damn I just looked at their website for a little research and look at this about section: "We never use artificial colors or flavors, high fructose corn syrup or preservatives, ever! We can trace every single ingredient we use to its source. Ice cream shouldn't just taste good -- we believe it should also be good. All of the milk and cream used to make our ice creams comes from single herd, family-owned farms where the welfare of their grass-fed cows is the highest priority." Damn that is music to my ears. Shoutout to Lick, man. Post cigarette, this locally sourced ice cream was exactly what I needed for a night cap. After spending the day exploring around the Pearl, this cute little tucked away ice cream shop is the perfect spot to pop into for a sweet treat. They have the most unique and tasty cream flavors, I have ever experienced. If you're not sure what flavor to choose, the staff provides samples to help narrow down your decision. I decided on scoop of the spiced sweet potato pie and I was blown away! All the times I've stopped by, I have been super impressed with all the flavors. And I always look forward to coming back!

The Caramel Salt Lick in a chocolate waffle cone is hands down one of the best experiences in my life!!!! The ice cream itself was delicious but combined with a CHOCOLATE waffle cone *faints*

Passed by here numerous times and finally had room for dessert this time! So glad I stopped because it satisfied my craving! They offer very unique flavors both water and milk based! I opted for the "Texas sheet cake" flavor and I wish I would've gotten 2 scoops instead of 1! It's a chocolate based delight! Drooling just thinking about it! They even have boozy flavors like the "Paloma" and their menu offers ice cream sandwiches and sundaes! Service was wonderful and prompt despite the crowd since it was the 4th of July holiday! Price point is very reasonable! They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Cute interior design and aesthetic! Very welcoming ambiance! Highly recommend

Lick Honest Ice Creams is in a prime location in the Pearl with unique flavors on their menu and I had to try it out after walking around the Pearl. Personally value wise it is pretty steep. The customer service was just okay in my experience. The scoops are also pretty inconsistent as one worker gave way more ice cream for my sister's cup for the same size while I had less in my cup. Maybe they looked at my physique and were like "yeah you should be eating less sweets." I got the Dark Chocolate, Olive Oil, and Sea Salt Ice cream and it was pretty small, but you could really taste the combination of flavors. It also wasn't overwhelmingly sweet which is nice. I enjoyed my small cup of ice cream, but just wish I got more value out of what I paid for. Their flavors are unique and is still worth trying at least once if you are craving ice cream.

Pearl Neighborhood. Pearl prices. Only walkable. That being said. Order the coffee ice cream or the blueberry crumble and float down the river walk with a satisfied feeling of bliss. It's really good.

Went for a nice walk in the Pearl in San Antonio and bumped into Lick. We enjoyed the unique flavors and options. Ordered a scoop of mint and chocolate chunk, along with a scoop of milk chocolate and both were excellent. Order one on the cake cone. Yum!

What a cool little ice cream shop! The flavors are easily the most unique in concept I've ever seen, and they are pretty good in practice. A couple of the flavors were less noticeable to me, like the beets in the beet+mint and the goat cheese wasn't goaty (I like my goat dairy goaty, but I understand most don't). What really surprised me was that I opted for the coconut milk chocolate chocolate. It was so good! I also did end up with the beet mint, though I think the beets are more there for novelty and color than flavor. Another review mentioned irregular sizing and I noticed that too between my companion and I - the gal who did mine had much larger scoops than the gal who did my companion's, and it was a very notable amount of ice cream in difference for the same price. Not sure what that's about as I don't think I've ever seen such a large discrepancy from the same size I've cream scoop.

A delicious ice cream spot! I love that there is also a side window to quickly order ice cream to go. The ice cream is sweet, creamy, and full of flavor. I have gotten cones, cups, and even the cartons to go and they never disappoint. Recently, I have gotten the tres leche flavor with a waffle cup which was so yummy. The line moves pretty quickly and there is ample seating outside.

I've been here once before and today was just as delicious as it was then. Super cute little shop with great flavor choices. The staff is very friendly and quick to service all the customers. I got the goats milk thyme ice cream, and salted caramel in a waffle cone. I was nervous to try the goats ice cream but it was absolutely delicious my new favorite flavor. If you visit this shop definitely taste all the options, they often have new flavors of the week. The combination I did with the goat and caramel was the perfect combo for me definitely give it a try next time you visit lick!

Fast service. They always have new flavors! They pricing is also not too bad. Very large scoops. Shared a small between two people. We had the carrot cake, it was great, and the dark chocolate with sea salt was more on the salty than sweet side.

Yum. Get the Texas sheet cake if they still have it. The dark chocolate swirl was so rich and decadent. So good. I didn't think the Tres Leches was as impressive as I was hoping. They have really interesting flavors available. Prices were reasonable and it was quick to get in and out. I would recommend.

Lick doesn't disappoint. I sampled strawberries and sweet cream, roasted beets & mint and salted caramel lick. I loved the beets & caramel flavors in a waffle cone. This ice cream is great for once in a while indulgence!

This could be the best ice cream I've ever eaten. Especially that they called it solar eclipse of the Sun ice it was cream.

All 4 humans enjoyed the rich creamy goodness! Seasonal flavors and artisanal culinary inspired options made it really hard to choose, but I'm super happy with my float!

After checking the menu, and observing so many interesting flavors, I was happy to have made the walk over to this shop. After a few samples I decided on 1 scoop of Beet Mint and 1 scoop of goat cheese--so delicious. Rich creamy and not overly sweet! The beet mint was my favorite. If the line behind me wasn't so long I would have sampled every flavor!

After trying diner in the dark at Botika we saw this ice cream shop nestled inside the Pearl district and decided to get some pints to go. They have unique and creative flavors and seasonal offerings as well. If you just buy some pints or ice cream sandwiches from the fridge you can skip the line waiting on ice cream to be served for immediate enjoyment. I bought a latte flavor that was rich and decadent. They offer treats for your pup as well. I bought some pup ice cream but it did not agree with my pup's tummy. However, she has a sensitive stomach so use your discretion. I definitely want to go back to try more of the ice cream flavors for humans.

I am a big fan of Lick ice cream, and was very excited to see this shop at the Pearl. We popped in later in the evening for an after dinner dessert, and the lady helping us was so sweet and patient. She happily doled out samples and did not give us a hard time about it. My go-to here is the goat cheese and thyme, but this time we opted for the mint chocolate chunk and the vanilla. Both were delicious! What's special to me about Lick is that their ice cream is so fresh and "light" tasting. The shop was busy but the line moved quickly. Lots of seats inside! I can't wait to go back!

Visiting on a sunday is always busy, but the staff have it under control with two options for ordering, a pick up window outside and a line inside. I ordered two small orders which comes with 2 scoops. The whipped cream was an added fee, so worth it with the banana pudding flavor. btw - the banana pudding flavor is dairy free & vegan (which i am not) & it was delicious. I like that they don't have music blasting in here. It's a small place that can get crowded fast so the noise level gets high pretty quickly.

Found this place just by walking around the Pearl one night. I had the salted caramel ice cream and I added pecans. My wife had a chocolate ice cream that she really liked. They have their menu to the left as soon as you walk in, and it seems to be a rotating menu which I really like. We came at around 11 pm on a Friday and they were still open and very friendly. We'll be back to try more of their flavors.

Delicious ice cream located at the Pearl. Different yet interesting flavors that you wouldn't expect to like but seem to surprise you every time. The only location in this part of the city -- the other is located at The Rim and much smaller. Don't be afraid to sample some of the different flavors. You might surprise yourself.

Décorations were so cute. We of course took a picture of the cow. Service was great nice and friendly. The ice cream was awesome. So good on a hot day. We both got two scoops of seasonal ice cream on a cone.

The ice cream is the creamiest most decadent I've ever tasted! It means business and i love every bite. They are right in saying they know every ingredient because I take every ingredient. I love high quality in the taste. The service is always perfect and they are always nice no matter how crowded. And today is no exception. The music is chill which adds to the cool atmosphere. It's always a winner here, tucked away in the Pearl.

I ordered Dark Chocolate, Olive Oil, and Sea Salt Caramel Salt Lick and Texas Sheet Cake. The selections had a great flavor and a creamy punch that lets you know they didn't skimp on the cream. Service was with a smile and very attentive. This spell of nice weather is perfect for the patio.

This is some amazing ice cream!! The flavor is so good with a great variety of choices. The servers are very hopeful and keep the line moving while creating great customer service. The shop itself is cute and inviting with some indoor seating and colorful decor creating a whimsical environment. I loved this ice cream shop and can't wait for my next treat!!

Second time here & it was as memorable as the last! Friendly service & they even let me try a few samples, thank you for helping my indecisive tastebuds haha. I got just a single scoop of the seasonal caramel ice cream and it was SO SO good. I'd recommend getting it if you like caramel. I honestly wouldn't need anything more than a single scoop because of how tasty the 1 scoop is. This is how ice cream should taste & be made! Can't wait to come back again & try some new flavors.

The best ice cream I've ever had and I'm not bs'ing. All the ice cream flavors aren't overpowering in sweetness. It's legit perfect. Nowww, when I tell you that the Goat Cheese, Thyme and Honey was the most outrageous flavor I have ever tasted in my entire life... it was the shitttt! Like I want a whole gallon to cry my sorrows away when watching a sappy k-drama eating over the tub of ice cream. I'll be back Lick, I will be back.

Whenever I'm at the pearl, this is where I head to first! Lick is known for their unique fresh flavors! They have an everyday menu and a seasonal menu. Plus, they offer a vegan and dairy free ice cream. My favorite from the seasonal is Horchata. And my everyday favorite is goat cheese, thyme, and honey. It's so amazingly creamy and I like to add rainbow sprinkles of course!! My boyfriend tried the candied pecan and bourbon and had good things to say about it as well! Overall, this would be a cute spot to have an ice cream date however there is limited seating inside but since it's located at the pearl you have many options to sit outside.

Good ingredients, varied options for all diet types, unique flavors, friendly service and Texas owned. Check, check and check! Stopped by for a quick yummy bite and decided to try their Texas sheet cake flavor. So GOOD! Honestly, can't go wrong with any of the flavors so don't be afraid to try something new. Sit outside and enjoy some people watching in the evening while having a scoop.

This place was around the corner from our dinner spot and we decided to give it a try! They had their seasonal flavors available, so I tried one of their peach flavors. It wasn't too sweet and I could taste the hints of peach. They give you a pretty large scoop and it definitely satisfied my sweet tooth that night! The staff were so sweet and worked quickly to get through the line.

I love this place so much! It's literally the best coffee I've cream I've ever had! However, I'm giving them a star less because they are expensive and don't give big portions for how much they cost! It was like 14$ for 2 ice creams and they were tiny!!

Questionable sanitary practices. 7/30/22 @ 1210pm Worker just walked in, for shift or from break, went behind the counter and started servicing product. Never washed his hands. He did put on a mask right before, so there's that. For a premium price. I'd expect a bit more attention to detail.

Alright you all. Let's talk about this late night ice creamery called Lick. I went to the Pearl location and I have been wanting to try this place for a whole year almost. The ice cream is fresh and made in house. I do have to say they do not have a big selection of different flavors. But you have plenty to ensure you get what your palate needs and wants to an extend. The workers were friendly and place clean. It is on the pricier side of ice cream but that is because of the quality products they use to create the ice cream. They have some unique flavor and it's worth a try. They're infused flavor and basic typical flavors are really packed with flavor and you can taste the quality ingredients. I would give it a try but just know you are getting quality ingredients not quantity. What I mean by that is a smorgasbord of flavor you will not see or add ins. But you will be pleased with what they do have to offer. Sometimes simplicity is better...give it a try you all.

SO GOOD!! cravings on a hot day for sure satisfied here. They have lots of seasonal and unique flavors such as tequila key like or grapefruit with champagne marshmallows - also vegan ones as well. They don't have a sampling limit so you can try as many flavors as you want. A small scoop is 1-2 flavors (2 scoops). I got one scoop of frooty loop and one scoop of vegan winter chocolate mint. The chocolate mint was so delicious and subtle whereas the frooty loop was very sweet with each bite.

Wow. Just wow. I almost have no words to describe this ice cream. The flavors are unique and many of them taste great! I had the grapefruit with champagne marshmallows and I was not one bit disappointed.

Great Ice cream .... The vanilla waffle bowl was super crispy and it definitively hit the spot! Tried chocolate sheet cake and coffee and creamer ( I think) flavor. Be prepared for the $5.99 a scoop price , IJS

It was such a hot day and ice cream is always the right answer. My friend liked the caramel ice cream she ordered and I loved the peach leaf graham cracker crumb ice cream that I ordered. There was a lot of construction outside, but it was worth the extra navigation. There wasn't a lot of seating inside.

I've creams delicious! Store is super cute. But, the service could use a little work. The server at the counter sat on his phone while we were standing there before he even acknowledged us or took our order. As we sampled a few flavors, he kept going back to his phone and barely spoke with us. I did see he was more friendly and engaged with later customers so maybe we caught him in a distracted moment. Nevertheless, the flavors were unique and ice cream of wonderful quality :)

Another amazing experience here at Lick Honest Ice Cream! I highly recommend trying their Seasonal flavor, Pumpkin Pie! Absolutely delicious. Definitely tasted JUST LIKE PUMPKIN PIE. The staff were pleasant as always. As we entered Lick Ice Cream, we noticed there was no more construction!! We enjoyed our waffle cones while exploring the open area beside Lick Honest. Very artsy and inviting. Overall, GREAT TIME.

They have some pretty good ice cream. They use nothing but fresh ingredients and some interesting twists on flavors. My Orange Chocolate ice cream on a waffle cone was pretty good! They are open until 11pm most of the week I believe to handle those late night cravings or after dinner dessert.

First timer. Went to Lick while walking at the Pearl. Wanted frozen desserts for this hot day. Cute little corner place right by the Pearl. I love that we can order from the side window instead of going in. After looking at the menus, I decided to try the carmel pear cheesecake. Omg, it was so delicious! Not too sweet and not to heavy. Freshest ice cream I've had here! I love that their bowls are biodegradable too! I got the mint chocolate for my son. Mint chocolate was on the bitter side but I love bitter chocolate. I also got the milk chocolate ice cream. Love the quality of the ice creams! Service was great and friendly. Staffs were wonderful and super helpful. I highly recommend and will be going again! Be sure to check their seasonal flavors!
