This place definitely lives up to the hype. Top notch Italian food, especially if you’re lucky enough to have Lidia on site which does happen. Everything we tried was absolutely on point for presentation and flavor. Staff were friendly and showed great attentiveness. They had good wise as well, but the food was so good that’s the only reason to come here. Overall if you’re looking for an authentic experience with delicious food then come give Lidia’s a chance.

We had a lovely dinner at Lidia’s last night & it did not disappoint. If you’ve never been, you must try it, with the understanding it is Northern Italian food. Last night we had the three course dinner with Caesar salad, the pasta tasting trio & dessert. The trio changes daily & always offers a variety of three different pastas that are AMAZING. You can refill any you would like more of. I love they also use fresh, seasonal & local ingredients when possible. The atmosphere is nice & our service was impeccable. Already looking forward to my next meal at Lidia’s!

Google
A great Italian restaurant in the heart of Kc. My wife and I decided to try this place last night., and it was good. The atmosphere is nice my only gripe is that the tables are very close together , so you can hear everyone’s convo like you’re at the table with them. Our server Anna was great, she was knowledgeable about the menu and had great suggestions. The food, we started with the appetizer “ARANCINI” 8/10 good flavor with the white sauce. My wife got the “Brasato” and wow, it’s a Boneless Beef Short Rib, Braised in Red Wine with Garlic Mashed Potatoes the meat was perfect , tender and had so much flavor. I got the “Lidia's Pasta Tasting Trio” it’s an unlimited sample of three pastas that are changed daily. Unfortunately I wasn’t impressed. The sauces lacked flavor and the noodles were hard. The manhattan was great and the dessert was amazing. Overall I’d recommend.

Google
One of the truly Great Italian eateries. From our wedding night in 2020, through today, Lidia's is close to our hearts, and a certian cure for the need for amazing food. Brilliant decor, and attentive service rules over exquisite steak, seafood and the most beautiful, perfect pasta dishes. It really is worth saving up for, or splurging on.

Google
Visited specifically for the lasagna. However, the photo I saw was from years ago and then no longer had it on the menu. While I was disappointed, I didn't let that stop me from enjoying another dish. My husband and I shared a nice light salad with fresh bread with a spread that included olive ingredients & oil. I don't care for olives but really couldn't taste in the spread. I decided on the manicotti and so happy I did it was full of cheese and plenty of flavor. My husband got the chicken breast mentioned it was a little dry and needed more flavor. Oh, I forgot to mention the meatballs we had for appetizers it's a must try! Noticed people at the bar ordering the special. Looks great pasta is made to order they deliver the past from the pan to you plate, how cool! Parking is a little tough when parking in the lot they charge $20, but if you show the receipt while leaving, it's free. Definitely recommend reservations, but if you're willing to dine at the bar, it's easier to get in. We got right in on a Friday night. I would visit again!

My wife and I celebrated our 5th year anniversary. I made reservations through Open Table. The staff welcomed us as such. They treated us with so much care and respect. Thank you Lida for such a wonderful, beautiful resturant that you have blessed Kansas city with. We love you!!

Google
In town for business and ended up at Lidia’s because I was in the mood for Italian. I came in solo and there was plenty of room at the bar. Luckily, Doug was the bartender and he deserves 5 stars alone. He gave me recommendations on the menu as well as his spin on drinks. Every staff member I met was incredibly friendly and they seem like a family. Highly recommend Lidia’s… and hopefully you meet Doug and Matthew!

Google
Wife and I decided to visit Lidia’s for the first time. She had the 3 pasta special and I had spaghetti and meat balls. We both had the Ceasar salad which was the best. Matthew was our server and he was great!

Yelp
Great place to have a special meal. I recommend reservations The decor is amazing. There is a nice wine and cocktail menu They serve bread before dinner. We all enjoyed the meals. The pasta is unlimited and delicious We ended with tiramisu and coffee Service could have been better. No one recommended wine or explained the menu.

Yelp
Of all the years I have been in the KC area, I hadn't tried Lidia's until last night. I had heard mixed reviews but my friend and I decided to give it a try. She ordered the meatballs. Her order came with 2 medium sized meatballs topped with a small amount of marinara sauce for fifteen dollars. I ordered the manicotti. It was one and a half manicotti tubes (cut into three pieces) the filling was ricotta cheese and spinach for twenty-five dollars. My entree arrived within 5 minutes of placing my order, which had me realizing that the manicotti was most likely scooped out of a premade pan of manicotti. The cheese on top definitely looked and felt as it had been sitting in a warmer for some time. We also ordered two ice teas and one slice of tiramisu. Our bill total was sixty-six dollars. I felt for the quantity and quality of the food, that was very pricey. The tiramisu was the best item of the evening. It was seventeen dollars for one slice though. Our server was nice but must have had a lot of tables as we didn't see her but maybe twice the entire visit. We both agreed that Lidia's probably won't be on our list of restaurants to return to.

Yelp
Solid dinner with well executed dishes. The 2 types of bread dip (tapenade and basil bean) is definitely a bonus. Beautiful ambiance with a cozy fireplace. Dishes we loved: Beet salad with pears and goat cheese- the salad was delicious, not saucy or salty. Salmon- great flavor and tender. Cooked to perfection (medium rare). Tiramisu- light and creamy, perfect blend of sweet and bitterness.

Yelp
Beautiful atmosphere, huge portions, delicious food, and excellent service. We made reservations several months ago for a family dinner. I would highly recommend making a reservation. A few of us showed up early but we enjoyed the happy hour in the bar/lounge area. There's several happy hour beverages and small plates to choose from. Our table all went with the three course pasta trio and if you haven't been, I would highly recommend it. Just make sure to bring your appetite. It starts off with a Caesar salad. The thing was huge! Like double what you would expect. The Caesar dressing is pretty light and a bit vinegary but I liked it. And the focaccia croutons were delicious. Next comes the unlimited pasta trio. It varies based on the day but we tried the pappardelle bolognese, chicken ravioli, and Cacio e Pepe. They were all delicious and I'd have a hard time choosing a favorite. This was the freshest pasta I've ever had. They give you a ton and I couldn't even make it through one serving. Finally for dessert I chose the Delizie Al Limone-Light Lemon Sponge Cake Soaked with Limoncello, Lemon Pasty Cream, and Lemon Curd. So fresh and bright. I made room for it because it was so good. Our group left with full happy bellies and I enjoyed my carb coma. Definitely check them out!

Yelp
Finally got to go here and try it after years of hearing about how great it is and it did not disappoint! My friend and I made a girls night of it and there was also a group of gentlemen next to us who were having a guys night. Definitely a place for all to enjoy! We got the tasting trio each and of course I paired mine with some delicious salad, wine and tiramisu. The bolognese was so good, but so was everything honestly. The tiramisu was to die for. We are still talking about it when we get together now. I cannot wait to go back!

Yelp
I decided to come to Lidia's as I had seen online that they had carbonara, which is one of my favorites. To my dismay, they no longer had it on the menu. So I went with the chicken picatta. Now, picatta to me should have a notable lemon flavor, which this dish was severely lacking. Honestly the sauce didn't have much flavor at all. Although I was disappointed in my main dish, the bread was the star of the show. They served it with two different house made butters, one was a pesto butter and the other a chickpea butter. Fantastic. I will for sure try it out again, as I believe that the dish I chose was just lacking. The restaurant itself was beautiful. With wide open rafters and a gorgeous floor to ceiling fireplace, this would be the perfect date night spot! Looking forward to giving it another try the next time I happen to be in KC.

Yelp
When it comes to dollars spent/food eaten, Lidia's may take the cake. Coming from someone who can eat a lot of food, these portions were huge! We came in with no reservations, but the restaurant is large enough that I don't see you needing them unless it is a busy occasion or you have a large group. Interested in trying some of the menu items next time around, but the pasta trio was a hit!

Yelp
This was a really excellent experience! Our friends in town from Central Kansas wanted to visit Lidia's. Living here less than two years, we had not heard of it. but we were game to try it. Turns out my wife knew of the chef that is the owner of this place. Three of us opted for the special with three different pastas, a salad and dessert. The other diner very much enjoyed his short rib over potatoes. Our server, Susan, was very attentive and provided amazing service in this charming restaurant that used to be a train house north of Union Station. All of us agreed that we would like to return for another meal here. The Special this evening was three different pastas. One of them was a pear ravioli with pepper butter, another was a spiral pasta with some fiery tomato sauce and shrimp, accompanied by a fettuccine Bolognese that was a little light on the beef and pork. That was literally our only complaint. And it wasn't a complaint more like an observation. The Caesar salad here is easily in the top five I've ever had. All of us enjoyed our fabulous desserts as well. This place is a treat!

Yelp
I got the pasta tasting trio which is unlimited pasta of their 3 they are serving - all were good but I was jealous of my boyfriend's Brasado he got. Great service, comfortable seating and delicious food. Next time I come I'll plan to get a dish off the menu.
google avatar

Sathish N.

Yelp
This is my second time at Lidia's. Last time, I didn't get to try their pasta trio. we got that thing figured out in this visit. We started with trying their wine options. Our waiter has some decent suggestions. White wine was so good. Then, We ordered Scampi & their 38$ Three course food which has Ceaser salad, Pasta trio & a choice of dessert. Scampi w Shrimp - Shrimp looked fresh & cooked very well Ceaser salad - Fresh & good Pasta trio - Couldn't finish 'em all ended up taking them home. Best one of the night is their Tiramisu, probably the best tiramisu in town. Overall, Food - 4/5; Ambience & Service - 5/5

Yelp
Lidia's is a great Italian restaurant with terrific food. A vibrant atmosphere, great bar and superb service. The daily pasta trio is the way to go and it is all you can eat. You need a reservation and the hostess stand can be a busy and bustling area, but the overall experience will be superb.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm not a big pasta fan but I was wowed by Lidia's pasta! We got the arancini and it was the perfect combination of breaded crunchy on the outside and soft cheese on the inside. I got the pasta trio and I thought I would get more than one serving but I was so full and fulfilled. I believe it was a pesto sauce, rigatoni bolognese, and ravioli. My favorite was the pesto pasta. We were seated down pretty quick with a reservation and our server explained us how the unlimited trip works as it was our first time. The restaurant itself was giving evangelical opera in the best way. Very cute date night place!

Yelp
I went here for the first time for Restaurant week! It's was absolutely delicious! Food was fresh and just exceptional. The great thing about the pasta trio, they refill your plate when it's empty! Server was great despite the place being packed.

Faiza P.

Yelp
We celebrated one of my friends birthday today. Our host server Matthew has so friendly and made sure we had a good time. Food was really good as well. They also accommodated to our dietary restrictions. Definitely would recommend this place.

Yelp
As really excited for this meal because of how famous this restaurant is and the chef and owner. I've been a fan of Lidia's for a really long time for all that she has done. The atmosphere and vibe was really chill, but also had a bit of fine dining to it since it was Italian. You can tell it was busy on a weeknight and many people frequent this place. Though we were able to call ahead and did not have to wait for a table for four on a random weeknight. Our table got the pasta trio sampler because we were impressed with the portions and the variety. I will say the pasta was good, but not all cooked well. I think because they make such large portions and for so many people, the pasta sometimes came out inconsistently, like one of the pasta was a bit overcooked and mushy feeling. Though all the flavors of the three pastas were yummy , I just would not recommend getting the pasta trio if you want a solidly cooked single dish. I think it was fun to try because of the variety and different flavors but next time if I go back, I would pick one good dish and trust that it would be cooked al dente. However, it was definitely a great deal and we ate to our hearts content, and you brought home some leftovers because the waiters do not skimp on refills.

Alyssa B.

Yelp
I got the 3 course meal and it was amazing food for an amazing price. Huge salad and unlimited pasta. The espresso martini was perfect also. Loved our waitress. I can't remember her name but she was knowledgeable and on top of it. Would definitely recommend and go again.
google avatar

Samantha J.

Yelp
The food was so amazing! It is such a fun atmosphere left feeling so full! The unlimited pasta trio might be the death of me. Matthew was so kind and helpful as well!
google avatar

Shelley Y.

Yelp
We have been coming to Lidia's for years (at least 15 given my Yelp history). I still stand by my original review and every point is true except the pricing. The ribeye entree alone was $80. Pasta tasting is still a fabulous deal at $28. Our favorite is the 3 course pasta tasting which comes with Caesar salad and your choice of dessert at $38. This night the Swiss chard ravioli was our hands down favorite of the 3, but it's always good. I had an Aperol Sunset and it was the best drink I've had in a long time. My husband said he'd never had a Boulevard wheat draw that fresh tasting. Our burrata appetizer was amazing and we cleaned the plate between the 5 of us. Lidia's is a wonderful place for a celebration dinner or a date night. This is one place that is still absolutely worth every penny.

Yelp
We came with a large party of 10 and the restaurant did not have the space to accommodate us. They made us wait outside in the cold even though there were open and empty tables in the bar area. After a cold hour wait outdoors, they finally found a table to accommodate us but we were informed that the check could not be split amount multiple parties. I started my meal with the Lemon Lemon Lemon cocktail which was good. I wanted to try the pasta trio. It comes with a salad, sampling of three pastas and a dessert. The Caesar salad was a good portion size and fresh. I was not impressed with the past selection. One version was too spicy and had to ask for the pasta to be remade without the spice. When the new non spicy version was delivered, it was very dry and unflavorful. The best pasta was the potato and leak ravioli. You can get more servings of pasta if you want. For dessert I had a flourless chocolate cake with pistachio ice cream. Overall was not impressed with the food or service at this establishment.
google avatar

Katie M.

Yelp
A moment when you need the ability to give 10 stars because 5 is just not enough. Started with the burrata and prosciutto and literally could have stopped there- the portions were so large. We each got the pasta trio. They literally serve a heaping portion straight from the pan to your plate. I so wish I hadn't already been full because I feel like I missed the experience of the pasta. Every bite was so fresh and perfect. The restaurant had beautiful light fixtures. Peter was our server and he was friendly and provided really great service!
google avatar

Rebecca M.

Yelp
The atmosphere is very nice. I spontaneously stopped in and was seated in the bar area, as they were booked. I chatted with the server about my gluten free needs and she was warm and understanding. The chef came out and we decided on gluten free pasta with a bolognese sauce. It was delicious and the sauce was clearly homemade on the spot! For a appetizer a chose the Frico. It was made with potatoes, leeks, corn, sweet peppers and pancetta. Mine was served with gluten-free crackers. It was the most unique dip I have ever had and it was worth every penny!

Dave J.

Yelp
The service and the food was amazing... The atmosphere in the restaurant was perfect. I would certainly recommend this place!!!

Cassandera S.

Yelp
I had their trio pasta. It was marinara pasta, pasta with anchovy, and chicken and mushroom ravioli. I had 3 desserts to try and they were all delicious. Our waiter was patient, courteous and professional. He offered refills as well.
google avatar

Kay L.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for a date night. We made a last-minute early 5:15 reservation, and there was still availability for two on a Friday! The restaurant itself is beautiful and unpretentious; high ceilings, gorgeous light fixtures, cozy atmosphere. Our server was great. She came over multiple times to give us more bread, refill our water, check if we needed anything. My Aperol spritz was perfectly refreshing. The food was a little hit or miss. Fresh Focaccia with olive oil and tapenade? Excellent. Frito Misto? Highly recommend- everything was perfectly crispy. The vegetarian pasta trio (their signature dish) was really good. I think their meat options would be even better. The only thing we didn't like was the manicotti. I think this just emphasizes that if a restaurant has a signature dish- get the signature dish! Overall, this was a lovely experience (parking was super easy too)! Would definitely recommend Lidias for a date night or special occasion.
google avatar

Stacie T.

Yelp
The food was amazing! Three of us had the Pasta Trio 3 course meal with Caesar Salad and dessert. Our 4th had the Pollo al Limone. Starting with the Caesar salad - it was the best salad I have had - the croutons were superb! The wine selection was plentiful and delicious. The pasta selections were excellent with Ravioli, Bolognese and Penne with a Vodka sauce & shrimp. Then came the delectable desserts. I had the Tiramisu, one had the Limoncello and the others had the Strudel Di Mele. Perfect complement to wonderful evening. Our waitress Francesca was very helpful and attentive. The dining room was full, but the ambiance was intimate. 10/10 recommend for an extra special occasion.
google avatar

Lori Z.

Yelp
I visited with some coworkers on a work trip. This restaurant was very comfortable for a large group and offered a good variety of food. I got the manicotti and it was delicious, with a thin crust of Parmesan on top. One coworker got Salmon, which was served as a very small portion so I think he left hungry. The atmosphere is dimly lit, but not too dark, and it's well laid out to not impede conversation with noise. It's a large comfortable restaurant with a lot of available parking. The service was friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Per Yelp, three stars means a place is "OK." And Lidia's was kind of just... okay. If you've been to Little Italy in Boston or you've been to Italy, you may find this place a bit lackluster. My brother and cousin had the Chef's Pasta Trio, my mother had the risotto, and I had the bolognese. Was it anything to write home about? No. Would I go back for the pasta? No. We ordered the burrata appetizer, which was very small and rather unbalanced in flavor. There was too much acidity; we would have appreciated some kind of sweetness to balance things out (maybe a honey or apricot jam?). The bread was very tasty. One of the highlights! It was served cold, so if that bothers you, keep that in mind. We ordered the tiramisu and the strudel di mele for dessert. The strudel was surprisingly the best part of the entire meal. As someone who's not even a huge fan of fruit desserts, I felt that it knocked the ball out of the park! The fruit was perfectly tender, and the balance of sweetness and acidity in the strudel was on point. If I were to go back to Lidia's, I'd order the strudel di mele for sure. Overall, I think Lidia's is a place you bring people to if you want to impress with ambiance and overpriced menu items. However, if you're trying to impress someone's palate, I'm not sure this is the right place. I will say though, having a private parking lot to park in was a huge plus!

Yelp
OMG I was giddy at the prospect of eating at Lidia's KC after watching her for about 20 years on PBS! I planned my route from New Mexico to Chicago just to stop in KC for this privilege! The meal was awesome and the only thing missing was Lidia's smiling face, and of course dear grandma singing a toast! Thank god they often feature grandma's memorable appearances on the show, as she was awesome! My Italian great grandmothers lived into their 90's too, so I saw them through my college years and I felt so lucky to be the oldest so I got to know them and appreciate them! Anna took great care of me and I was stuffed! Thank you for this delightful evening!
google avatar

Paul N.

Yelp
With Lydia being known for her amazing cookbooks and her show on PBS, I have always wanted to try one of her restaurants. I happened to be in KC for work and people brought up going here as a group. I had no idea there was a Lydia's here, but it was everything I expected and so much more. The cuisine is the real deal; simple and amazing food! The prices are incredibly reasonable too, which was a pleasant surprise. Service was top-notch, even though we were a large group and the place was packed!

Yelp
Such a nice location, ambiance, and concept. We ordered the unlimited chefs pasta tasting for $25 (basil pesto and green bean pasta was so fresh and yummy, leek and prosciutto ravioli which was my favorite, and rigatoni bolognese which was my friend's favorite) and a 6 oz. glass of Lambrusco for $11. Lambrusco is typically not something served by the glass since it's bubbly so we had to indulge!! The food was amazing. I've never heard of a nice restaurant offering unlimited pasta so this was fun and new. The place was very clean and has a soothing atmosphere with the warm dim lighting. The only point I took away was for the slow service. Our waitress was very nice but we would only see her every 20-30 minutes which made it difficult to get our bill at the end since it was 8:20 and the restaurant closed at 8. Over all such a fun and nice experience though and would definitely come back!

Yelp
Mouth watering, perfect ambiance and superb service! We had the Three Course Pasta Trio , it was SO GOOD!.... Take me back

Yelp
This was my husband's and my first trip to Lidia's. We sat at the bar for dinner. We had a great conversation with a traveling nurse from Texas, who is on a contract job in the KC area. The bartender was also very attentive to her service as well. The restaurant had a great romantic vibe going on(it is recommended you make a reservation to get a table). Once we got our drink menus and decided on our drinks(mine was called the Last Kiss, and my husband got an unsweet tea with a side of sweetener), we took a look at the entree menu. The bartender came by and got our order for our entrees, then we waited. My selection was the gnocchi with duck ragu, and my husband chose the 5 piece arancini with marinara for his selection. My husband said the arancini had good flavor but thinks he would have liked the gnocchi better after sampling mine. The gnocchi with duck ragu was excellent, tender and wonderful flavor, that was my first time in almost 48 yrs, I have ever had a dish with duck. We inquired about dessert, and the bartender brought us the dessert menu to view. For our desserts, we picked tiramisu & Strudel de Mele( a blackberry and apple strudel with a scoop of vanilla ice cream). My husband had chosen the tiramisu, which was yummy, but a little on the bitter side with the espresso powder, but the custard OMG! My strudel de mele was heavenly, and knocking on the door of the who needs a man club. I highly recommend Lidia's for a bucket list dining experience.

Yelp
Honestly...AWESOME. I didnt have a reservation but the manager was able to seat me anyway when it was all booked up for the night. I was sat with the incredible Peter as our server. He kindly gave us the low down of what the place was about and what we were going to experience. He was lovely the food, we started with the fry bread and burrata. WOW. what a start. the cheese had a drizzle of olive oil, with a side of a fig jam, and arugula. It was a flavor explosion. All of this on top of the fry bread was incredible. We got to experience the pasta tasting menu, again, WOWWWW. That night we had gnocchi, a clam linguine and the most memorable, a pork ragu pappardelle. The pasta were fresh and tasted like they were made in house. No boxed pasta to be found. The tasting menu was the best thing I ate while I was in KC. I'm so glad I came here lol
google avatar

SJ B.

Yelp
My husband & I dine here every 3 to 4 months. Love the pasta trio & gnocchi. Bread & pate given before dinner. Service was great & very accommodating to my food allergies. Salads are huge. Deserts are small but scrumptious. Highly recommend!

Yelp
So this isn't the typical review in that the company I work for hosted a department meal here in an upstairs private dining situation. That being said, your experience may vary outside of this type of deal. Parking outside is... aggressively odd? Signage everywhere that your car will be towed if you're not dining here. Not entirely sure how strongly that's enforced, but be advised in advance that there appears to be a security vehicle patrolling. Came inside, make an immediate right up the stairs, and there was a nice open area with our table for about 14 waiting. Wait staff has food and drinks in our hands immediately. Service the entire evening was primo. Had the filet and mashed potatoes. They were nothing short of perfect. Filet was medium rare with a good crust. Mashed potatoes were fluffy. We also had some finger food desserts. Most were good, but nothing really stood out. Will definitely have to come back and try more of the menu.
google avatar

Kaleigh S.

Yelp
We ordered the Pollo Limone and the breeze beef with a side order of the penne à la Vodka. Everything was delicious and we will be back!! Our waiter Peter was super attentive and super quick!
google avatar

Becca B.

Yelp
Imagine this: ordering a pasta trio entree...and you can eat as much as you want of it because it's UNLIMITED! For $24, you can eat unlimited samplings of the chefs daily menu at Lidia's Are finished all of the food on your plate but want more?? Fear not! The chefs bring out hot pans loaded with more pasta to fill your plate. Make sure to start off your meal with one of their many appetizers. Our table started with the happy hour ravioli and Fritto Misto appetizers. We also split a fresh Caesar salad along with the house bread and oil. If you still have room, end your meal with the strudel dessert! ps: make a reservation! This is a popular spot.

Yelp
The Pasta Tasting Trio was great! You really got to try 3 different pastas and a caesar salad and dessert was included. Tons of pasta to take home. Service was a bit bumpy towards the end of our stay. It all worked out. I would definitely go back. Excellent pasta!

Jennifer N.

Yelp
I dream about coming back! Great place to have a special dinner. We had reservations and loved the atmosphere and service. We all loved our meals and especially loved that Pasta Tasting Trio. Looking forward to seeing this place again soon.

Nancy C.

Yelp
First off holly was our server and she was beyond perfect! She was so nice, funny, sweet, and outflying she made the experience. The food was so good and fresh. I love fresh pasta and the fresh pasta. Doing get me started about the dessert! The venue is huge and industrial you will love it
google avatar

Erik B.

Yelp
First time here and the food is excellent I had the bolognese and my wife the trio. The trio is the best deal around as it's all you can eat. All the pasta is fresh so don't expect to eat that much. If I had any criticism it would be that the water for the pasta needs more salt but that nit picking.
google avatar

Sheri M.

Yelp
I enjoyed my food but all classic Italian so nothing special enough that I 'have' to come back for especially for the price. I did enjoy the bread prior but for the price wasn't anything to write home about. I did follow the recommendation and get the trio pasta...ravioli, rigatoni and pesto spaghetti. Cute neighbor and nice ambiance

Yelp
Bang For Your Buck Get the tasting trio. Try your best to finish the plate, good luck, refills for those who achieve success. Great Caesar to start, attentive staff members, and the new pear dessert could cause you to attend 12 step meetings. As always, dark and moody, perfect for a quiet date night or a group of friends. We love you Lidia.

Yelp
Enjoyable dinner here. We had the fritto misto, a tasty, fried, giant mess of vegetables, little calamari rings, and tiny octopus legs. This would be better if everything was cut in bigger pieces and they gave you less, but it was still fun to eat and served super hot and fresh. (Don't get too full on fried like I always do.) The bread service here is something I'll remember. Salty, light and chewy focaccia that I couldn't dream of replicating at home. I could eat this stuff all day with the spreads they served. We got the duck and the 3-course pasta menu. Okay, so let's discuss the fuss. Servers bring a plate and rush to your table with 3 different pastas, served in dramatic heaps for one heck of a presentation. If you are a big meat eater, this option may not be for you since it is mostly just pasta, perhaps with a meat sauce. One of the downsides of the wow-factor is that the pasta didn't come out hot, but we had an amazing server who understood this flaw and brought out a hot plate of pasta to enjoy. Beautiful vibe in the restaurant and makes for a nice date night.

Yelp
This is one of the best Italian restaurants in Kansas City. The appetisers looked simple but tasted delicious. The spinach manacotti and the eggplant entrees were finger-licking good! The unlimited pasta dish was pretty decent and the portion sizes for each serving were huge. The tiramisu tasted too espresso like but other than that it was really good. The hazelnut mousse was definitely the highlight of our visit. The waitress was very pleasant and explained everything in detail. I highly recommend this place! PS: Do make a reservation if you want good seats

Yelp
This place is a favorite of mine for sure. The atmosphere is amazing and I love the inside decor. I had chardonnay to drink which was wonderful and my partner had their limoncello martini which made me jealous about not getting it. We both did the pasta trio which is an amazing deal. My personal favorite was the fettucini bolognese but all three were great. We finished with the blackberry and apple dessert and it was the perfect ending.

Yelp
We went to Lidia's for the first time before going to the theater with a group of six and we had an excellent meal! Our starters were Arancini (rice balls filled with peas, smoked mozzarella, and marinara), Frico (montasio cheese crisp with potatoes, leeks, asparagus, and shrimp), Prosciutto e Burrata (smoked prosciutto, burrata, gnocco fritto, fig jam, and arugula), and the Caesar Salad. All the starters were excellent. For our mains, we ordered the Bolognese, Gnocchi with duck ragu, Brasato (beef short rib braised in a red wine with garlic mash) and the Lidia's Pasta Tasting Trio. All the mains were great, but I have to speak to the pasta-tasting trio: the server told us the daily, housemade pastas (unfortunately, I can't remember the specifics of each) and they all sounded great, so four of us ended with that. The pasta was served tableside and was incredibly generous portions...and we were told if we liked a particular one we could get more! Needless to say, that would have been impossible because we couldn't finish the "tasting"! We will be back! We had a great meal, and excellent service, and the food was fresh and delicious in the Freighthouse complex in Crossroads. Looking for Italian? Definitely should check out Lidia's.

Yelp
Great ambience, love the decoration and the rustic/modern feel of the place. But the food was just OK. I was expecting to be wow'd by the food, but I've actually had better food at much cheaper restaurants. So in my opinion the food is definitely not worth the price they charge.

Yelp
I had the braised short ribs on the mashed potatoes and it was just amazing. I also sampled some of the pastas and I was quite pleased with the ravioli. I generally enjoy more rustic Italian food, but this is a nice place in the city with great service and friendly staff. I would recommend ordering a few plates and sharing. You just can't help but want to try it all!
