Yelp
A bar and restaurant in the middle of a high-end apartment complex smack dab in the middle of Richardson Bay, Lighthouse Bar & Grill is the epitome of a hidden gem. I mean why would anyone besides locals even knows that this place exists as this restaurant lies in the middle of a property known as The Club at Harbor Point. Although a hidden gem, it's not too hard to find Lighthouse Bar & Grill as it's on the east side of Mill Valley's Tiburon Boulevard and a simple right hand turn on East Strawberry Drive and a long and winding drive and viola, you're there! Lighthouse Bar & Grill is part restaurant, bar and event space as I have attended many a special event here as they have a huge dance floor and bandstand which makes it a great venue for live music.
I happen to come for a special event on a Saturday evening and the place was booming, but not enough for regular customers to enjoy their dinners while our special event was going on in their bar area. All of this was while music from a live band on the stage area with a multitude of dancers partying on the dance floor made for one enjoyable evening. Once our event was over, a group of friends and I decided to stay for dinner at Lighthouse Bar & Grill because we felt the ambiance and energy were just so nice we couldn't get enough of it. So with that, we managed to make reservations with the front desk and waited roughly fifteen minutes for our table for eight was arranged for us. The menu at Lighthouse Bar & Grill is pretty straight-forward as their kitchen specializes in fresh seafood dishes, reminiscent of meals served in San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf, mixed with traditional bar bites and lunch time entrees like salads and sandwiches. The best thing about their dinner menu is that their prices are rather affordable as no dish was over 26 dollars when we went, and this includes a Filet Mignon, which in this day in age is remarkable.
Although I wasn't particularly hungry the evening we decided to have an impromptu dinner party and the best thing about our meal was that they graciously gave us two orders of their Yelp check-in deal of a free side of Truffle Fries. While I munched on those, I decided to order from the Club Menu of the menu their Fish & Chips with Cole Slaw served with tarter sauce, remoulade and lemon. I thought my fish and chips were decent as they were a little dry for my taste, I have to admit not remarkable at all, so I did have some regrets after I looked at my fellow diners entrees with envy. Others in my party were a little hungrier and ordered dishes as varied as their Spaghetti Bolognese, Salmon Fettuccine, Grilled Atlantic Salmon, Flat Iron Steak and Bone-In Pork Chop. All of this plus, a few glasses of wine, a margarita and a Chocolate mousse dessert and our bill for eight was only 218 dollars which included gratuity, and was really nice considering how many people were in our party and how much food we ordered.
I would definitely make a return visit to Lighthouse Bar & Grill as the ambiance alone as it's a charming restaurant that sits on the crystal clear waters of the bay with plenty of parking to boot. The even have a great Sunday brunch menu, in addition to Happy Hour and even early bird specials of the day. This just goes to show how unpretentious Lighthouse Bar & Grill is to when preparing their dishes and treating their customers. The perfect place in Marin County for brunch, lunch, dinner or libations, Lighthouse Bar & Grill is everything to everyone and you cannot go wrong with ordering a meal from here.
