"I absolutely love this place for its Caribbean take on dumplings, and literally want to try everything. So far, I’ve eaten my way through the tasty soft shell crab bao, broiled lobster tail, smoked duck, and spicy crab dumplings with spicy likkle sauce. Next up is more dumplings, yucca fries, and the fresh off-the-gram re-release of duck fried rice. This summer you’ll find me dining al fresco during live reggae sessions with a Red Stripe in hand." - Shelley Worrell 31

Great food, service, decor and ambiance. Oh, and how can I forget the music and book selection. I love the vibe and energy at this delicious Jamaican dumpling restaurant. While we opted to eat outside, I especially appreciated all of the health and safety measures in place. I'll return again and again.

Attended a private 50th birthday party there. The chef was freaking AMAZING!!!!!! The food and ambiance was warm and beautiful. We came all the way from long island. We'll definitely be back. Chef Alicia is a total badass. It was great to meet her and enjoy her cuisine!!! Corn soup, yucca fries, escoviche fish, bread fruit, roasted duck over rice. It was all exceptional!!!

The whole concept of "Jamaican Dumplings" is what drew me in. It was a great concept and these are some of my favorite foods. The inside was set up kind of like a (pre-covid) book shop / cafe with 2 big tables and some armchairs. Really great and unique looking place. They also have some (usable but still incomplete) seating outside. The food was spectacular. We had Duck and Crab dumplings and the Tonkatsu. All of it was perfect. I was particularly impressed by the unique consistency of the rice in the tonkatsu. it was very sticky and soft like you would have in a mango sticky rice dessert but this was for a savory dish that worked perfectly with the chicken and sauce. The best part of this place was the service. The people working there were very vested in making sure that we had a perfect experience there and held themselves to a very high standard. For example, even though we didn't even notice that time had passed because we were having a great time chatting at the place, a staff member came up and apologized for the delay it took to bring out our dish and offered us beverages to make up for the inconvenience. I thought this was a very classy move and showed their strong customer focus. The food, service, and decor was amazing. I expect and hope that this place becomes a very popular one soon! Until then, I'll enjoy this hidden gem while I can.

I’ve eaten almost everything on the menu, and it’s consistently great. This is Jamaican inspired food that’s real, cooked with good ingredients and a sophisticated hand. The brown stew chicken was almost like a lamb shank - falling apart moist with great seasoning. Dumplings are innovative and excellent, whether steamed or fried. Get the reco itch fish and corn soup when they’re on the menu. Borrow a book from their library. Great vibes from an owner and chef who comes from the culture and understands the NY scene.

Happy to have stumbled upon this little gem! It feels like the cozy interior of someone’s home, with books peppered around and comfortable waiting chairs. The food was delicious, and the service was incredible.

Their risotto was the most delicious i’ve had in my entire life - a flawless dish. How this place is not more well known is a mystery to me. If the rest of the menu is comparable, when Negril reopens they will have a serious competitor for top Jamaican spot.

Amazing food with a menu that changes throughout the week. Amazing staff. Amazing library. Playing live music and showing movies. You have to go if you haven't been.

I had the vegetable dumplings and the jerk pork dumplings, both were pretty good. I can definitely recommend the vegetable dumplings (asian cabbage). Staff were very friendly and helpful
