How To Eat & Drink Your Way Through Overtown - Miami - The Infatuation

"When you’re looking for a lowkey spot to enjoy a homestyle meal and be taken care of like a family member, visit Nicole Gates and Kariym Bryant at Lil Greenhouse. Their menu includes a few appetizers and sandwiches along with a selection of generously portioned proteins and a variety of sides. The barbecue chicken is flavorful while the pork ribs are my personal favorite. Many Greenhouse regulars rave about the rotating cake menu, with flavors like red velvet, lemon cream, and Sock-It-To-Me. I look forward to not filling up on my next visit so I can finally try a slice." - jamila west

The Best Things We Ate This Week

"Rib Tips I ordered takeout from Overtown’s Lil Greenhouse Grill this week, and really enjoyed just about everything I got. The highlight, however, were the rib tips. If you’ve never been fortunate enough to enjoy a great version of this barbecue classic, then place an order here soon. Greenhouse’s rib tips are tender and delicious, but the best part might be the sweet barbecue sauce they apply generously." - ryan pfeffer, carlos c olaechea

So happy I had the chance to stop by! The waitress was incredibly kind and attentive, and the food was fresh, flavorful, and high quality. Honestly, this is the best meal I’ve had since moving to Miami. I’ll definitely be back, consider this your sign to try them out!

I was a part of a party of 10, and although there was only one server for us and the rest of the other tables, the young woman serving us all was very polite, quick, and accommodating. The restaurant is small, but nicely appointed within its limited space. I did notice lighted outdoor seating, but since it was midday in June in Miami, eating outside was not an option for us. 😀 The food was delicious and well-presented. I ordered two appetizers: the conch fritters and the rib tips. Each was cooked to perfection and flavorful. The cook was not stingy with the conch, and the rib tips were tender and generously sauced. If you're in the downtown/Overtown area, you must visit this hidden gem.

I dined here in several occasions. The service has always been great. I dined here with my family from New York. They loved it. This time I ordered the Spring Rolls and Dreamfire Shrimp Dinner. To drink I had a flop. For dessert I had the peach cobbler. The Spring rolls had the best crunch to them. The flop was good, it was a different style then I was use to.

When I say I'm looking for southern black food THIS IS WHAT THE STANDARD IS! This black owned business exceeded my expectations. The service was top tier even with one server! She was not only knowledgeable about the specials but also very attentive. This spot is a hidden gem that we are happy we stumbled upon here in Miami! Lastly to top it off the ambiance was warm and the vibes gave in my grandma's kitchen. Will be back before I leave because just YES YES YES. Protect this black business by any means.

Will was our server. He gave us excellent service! He brought us everything we needed. There were 5 of us in our party and everyone loved their meal. Reasonably priced for the quality of the food! Delicious!

Definitely will try them again. The collard greens and the shrimp salad was amazing. The mac and cheese was good. I like how the chicken had grilled onions all over it to give it that flavor! The burnt ends were kinda tough. Cornbread was too crumbly but still good.

Food was good and hot. Get the rib tips! Good flavor nice sauce. Sweet but not too sweet. I enjoyed the crab style cake but my friend did not. Peach sangria was good! I felt a little buzz which I never do with sangria. I also had the yams, smoked wings, collards, and Mac n cheese. All were great, Mac could have used a little more salt but that’s personal preference. The waiter was seating people, waiting tables, and bussing the tables! He was good at it but he sure could have used some help. Also happy hour sign was posted and apparently it has been suspended so something to be made aware of. Good experience would return. Black owned.

Went here for a leadership brunch and sat outside on the patio. The food is delicious and flavorful. I loved the service as well. Very accommodating to your requests. If you are looking for some soul food, this is the spot. The salmon was great and the fries, but there’s much more to the menu since I happened to be on a more restricted diet. Lots to choose from. Definitely worth a try. Inside is also cozy. Good vibes here!

Yelp
Hey everyone I just want to give a review for The Lil Greenhouse Grill. I was in the neighborhood and had a taste for soul food. This was take-out. I ordered short ribs tips, BBQ Chicken dinner with mac & cheese, cornbread & collards. Cornbread comes with the meal and it was on point. . I also ordered lemon pepper chicken with yams & collards. And Peach Cobbler. I was hungry. Again, smelling home cooked food wafting throughout the restaurant. Wonderful. Nicole the owner took my order truly a Boss Lady. I waited a 1/2 hr. for the take-out but it was worth it. The short rib tips were great the BBQ sauce was tasty with a slight smokiness to it; the meat was tender and flavorful. Loved it. Next, I finally got the 1/2 BBQ chicken dinner with mac & cheese and collards. The collards were tender, the mac & cheese was very cheesy and the chicken was moist and tender. The BBQ sauce was the same as the rib tips. Mmmmm I'm licking my fingers couldn't help it. Now for the lemon pepper chicken, it had a real lemony flavor with a little heat to it. Not so much as spicy very mild. The yams have a cinnamon nutmeg flavor. All good. The Peach Cobbler was fantastic! Nicole told me it just came out of the oven. Had to try that right away and boy it didn't disappoint. The Peach Cobbler reminded me of my grandma's Cobbler; it took me back to my childhood. Should've bought two. Warm Crispy breaded edges, sweet caramelized peaches just the best. Now I can describe the food, but a pic is worth 1,000 words. Just take a look and don't salivate too much. I give it a 5-star review everything was perfect. Y'all check out the Lil Greenhouse Grill ya here. You won't be disappointed

Yelp
We loved Lil Greenhouse Grill when we were in Miami before a cruise. We started with the conch fritters, which were tender and delicious. My wife had the smoky chicken wings, and she loved the flavor. I had the salmon, and it was cooked perfectly. We each had two sides which were all terrific - she had the black eye peas and collard greens, and I had the mac & cheese and green beans. I had never heard of the drink Flop -- it's raspberry ice tea and lemonade -- but it was excellent (and has free refills!). The service was fantastic and the atmosphere was relaxed in a relatively small space. I highly recommend it!

Yelp
Nice little restaurant, very clean && welcoming.... The food was pretty ok... the salmon was a bit small && dry && I didn't like anything about the rib tips. But the conch balls were awesome, nice texture && flavorful. The wings were also a favorite especially the sauce. The sides (mac&&cheese && the collard greens are what I came for && they didn't disappoint, loved them. They didn't have any cocktails (I should've checked beforehand) but said they'll be opening a bigger location that will serve them. The service was great we were the only other 2 ppl in there so they were very attentive. Only thing is the couple across from us had items I didn't see on the menu that looked great && when I mentioned to the server he said that's from the seasonal menu (didn't even tell us about it!) && it looked a bit more appetizing....

Yelp
Ummm HECK NO!!! MEMO: If you see a review made by me it will always be authentic and detailed. I pride myself in being real in my reviews. I have a deep passion for exploring diverse culinary traditions and savoring dishes from various cultures and ethnic backgrounds. With that being said these are my own opinions based off what my taste buds react to and I will always write my truth. I do not write reviews based off of anyone's opinions, and customer service is a big portion of my review of any establishment! Why is customer service such a huge thing for me? you may ask... because good customer service is like the secret sauce.... without it, everything falls apart. It keeps customers coming back for more, makes them have a great dining experience, and also helps an establishment stand out. Plus, when things go wrong (and they will), good service can turn a disaster into "Hey, at least they were nice about it!". Moving on besides the customer service the food is mid here by far. I've wanted to try this place out for a while now, but I really do not understand the hype at all! It's just not that good! This place is in Over-town, the area has been extremely gentrified btw. Moving on so I drove here after going to my orthodontist appointment in Miami since I was already in the area, and was truly disappointed. Let me tell you what went down! I was greeted by a sweet young lady named Kimoni. She was the only waitress during the time I was there. She was serving three tables and also working the front desk as the greeter, and sitting the customers to their table. Mind you I didn't think anything of it, because she was doing such a fantastic job. The owner stepped out and literally greeted all tables but mine. Mind you I came alone to dine. I was saying to myself what is wrong with this lady as if I stole her baby or something lol. I am never expecting the owners to ever come to greet me they don't know me from a can of paint and i'm a regular customer, but if you are greeting every single person in the restaurant and at the bar , but you are singling certain people out then I start to question your character. After I got my food I still waited to see what was about to go down the lady passed me bout 4x also I did not stay long I felt uncomfortable asked the waitress for my check and a box. Idk why I asked for a box cause the food was mid and was not going to make great leftovers, I paid and then went to the bar just to ask the waitress was that the owner when she confirmed I grabbed my bag and dipped. So let me tell you about the food people! What I Ordered ______________________ Baked Mac & Cheese: 5/10 This was brought out piping hot! Must admit there were great layers of cheeses throughout and it was very creamy, but it somehow still lacked flavor. Idk it needed more salt. The noodles weren't too soft though and the crust on top of the mac and cheese was golden and perfect. This was a good run for a classic soul food side of mac and cheese, but baby this did not hit for me. They need to come harder! Collard Greens: 8.5/10 For me this was the best thing I ate from there. I'm being so serious! The greens were not too salty. Had great depths of flavor and was cooked perfectly in my opinion. Cornbread: 3/10 I am not a cornbread connoisseur, but I've had a few in my time. This ain't that! The cornbread is way too crumbly. No moisture at all. Yes, it has a nice and golden exterior, but it does not melt in your mouth. This has got to be one of the worst cornbreads i've ever had. Lemonade: 2/10 The lemonade was not good at all. It was extremely sweet and tasted like some powder mix. I was not satisfied at all! BBQ Ribs: 6/10 Served Fresh! The meat was literally falling off the bone. The flavors were overpowering and was way too sweet for my liking. This was a no for me. The portion size was large and the presentation was really nice, but I would not recommend this. Overall Experience: 4/10 Customer Service: 3/10 Will I Return? : NO! This establishment has been Tamied ™

Yelp
We ended up here via Groupon and we were not ready for how delicious the food would be. The space is intimate and the staff are so kind!! The highlight were the garlic Parmesan chicken wings. That seasoning was amazing. I enjoyed my shrimp and grits. They had a good ratio of heat to grits. My husband had the ribs and the sauce was delightful. We finished the night off with the peach cobbler which was quite a treat. I definitely recommend for a cute date night!

Yelp
This spot has the feel of "home". You definitely tell it's a part of the community. They take pride in getting it right from the service (waitress was amazing very detailed oriented), the ambiance (music spot on, with great wall art), and yes food chefs kiss. You will enjoy this spot, I encourage you to stop in if you're in the area.

Yelp
We found this restaurant after a day at the beach. I ordered the smoked ribs and they were very tasty. The were slathered in bbq sauce and mustard and were filling. The baked Mac n cheese was fantastic. The candied yams were also tasty with a nice amount of cinnamon. My wife enjoyed her grilled salmon as well. The restaurant is family owned and run. It started as a food truck, but is now a fully functioning restaurant. The ambiance was cool and the service was great. I recommend to anyone in the area looking for some good southern cooking.

Yelp
This place is a gem, the food was delicious the lemon pepper wings was just the right amount of tartness and savory it was seasoned to perfection. the shrimp was crispy and flavorful I had the dream fire sauce on the side and loved it I'm not sure you'll find a sauce like that anywhere else it's sweet tangy with a burst of umami, comparable to the Thai chilli sauce but even better. The greens were perfect not overly seasoned and the Mac was super cheesy. Last but not least the peach cobbler, this was probably the best peach cobbler I'd ever had, it wasn't super sweet the cinnamon and sugar crumbles almost melt in the mouth along with the peaches this dish was an emulsion of decadent flavor. Lastly the staff is sweet and attentive, the owner especially, it's a small space and it feels very cozy trust me you won't regret adding this restaurant to your list.

Yelp
A cozy little restaurant in Overtown with great food! We started with the seafood cakes and the conch fritters! Both were good but I lovd the conch fritters! I ordered the smoked wing dinner with the mango habanero sauce on the side! It was hot! Luckily I had another sauce to dip my wings in. I also had the mashed potatoes and the macaroni and cheese! Everything was delicious! My friend had a salad with grilled shrimp. She said it was good! My meal also came with corn bread, which was so good! We were too full to try their dessert but we will be back to try their banana pudding. They also had a snapper special and a lobster special which both sounded great! BTW, they also have a small parking lot in front of the restaurant!

Don P.

Yelp
The customer service and ambiance is all on point . Definitely will reel you in . But unfortunately the food just doesn't have that spunk of flavor. Ordered the seafood cakes to start off 8/10. The green beans seemed like they were warmed up from the can . THE MAC AND CHEESE AND SHRIMP AND GRITS HAD NO FLAVOR. The greens were alright. Bbq chicken was just regular bbq chicken . Cornbread was good .

Yelp
Great Black OWNED restaurant! The service was 's and the server was very attentive and personable! I felt at home! The restaurant was cute, very clean, & giving vibes with the playlist! The raspberry sweet tea was great with free refills! Had the fish cakes as the starter, delish! I had the smoked wings dinner with collard greens and Mac & cheese. With cornbread! We also ordered the chicken and waffles! The food was FANTASTIC!! I was so full! We had left overs the next day before heading to our cruise and was full! I definitely will be back when I'm in Miami!

Yelp
Lil Greenhouse Grill is to its core a fantastic saucy soul food spot. We placed an order for carry out and had high expectations. They were met. We ordered the Riblet appetizer, half chicken entree, & smoked wings entree. Each entree comes with 2 sides and a cornbread. We got mac and cheese, collared greens, and baked beans as sides. The riblet appetizer were chopped pieces of rib tossed in their house sweet BBQ served over a white bread slice soaking up the meat and sauce flavor. These riblets were small but satisfying as an appetizer. I felt like I got my rib craving taken care of without committing to an entire entree. There was an abundance of sauce tossed in them. If you don't like a lot of sauce I suggest letting them know or requesting on the side. The rib meat was smokey and juicy. The half chicken was delectable. Delicious smoked chicken that was juicy and cooked perfectly. Even as takeout the chicken retained its flavor and heat. It is served covered in the house bbq with streaks of a mustard bbq. Expect to get messy with this dish. The size of the chicken is perfect as well. It is enough to feed one person and if you don't eat a lot, you will have a nice piece or two as a leftover to enjoy later. Sides did not cease the fantastic food we had so far. The mac and cheese was great. Not outstanding but it checks most boxes you would want in a mac. I did have it as takeout and imagine it would be elevated eating in house where it's hot. The cheese was thick and the top crust a fantastic caramelization level. The collared greens were perfect. One of the more impressive dishes. The greens were each the perfect consistency. They kept their form and shape while remaining the perfect consistency when you chew. The pork stock used to make them was rich. These were an excellent vegetable side. The baked beans were good, but not great. They tasted similar to Bushes. Bushes still gets the job done but with the previous sides, expectation we're high. Overall, fantastic soul food at this spot. The staff were extremely polite upon pickup and the inside is cute. They have tv's if you want to watch games. I will be coming back here again!

Yelp
The food tasted amazing! I've never had anything such as the smoked lemon pepper wings before and I can't stop thinking about them. Also had the shrimp and grits in addition to collard greens and yams. The service was greatly, felt like at home with the staff. Will was great and also gave great Miami recommendations. Nice Black owned restaurant; definitely a safe place. Can't wait to come back and try to the ribs and the grilled chicken!

Yelp
I had the Salmon cooked medium, and a double order of collard greens with two pieces of cornbread. I was in seventh heaven. I like my greens spicy, the kitchen obliged me and provided me with some crushed red pepper. Please know that I did not need a to go bag. Everything was consumed. Our server was on point. I'm sorry that I don't remember her name, but kudos to her. The intimate ambiance added to the deliciousness of the meal. My wife and I were very pleased with the meal, the service and the ambience

Yelp
I've been wanting to come to this spot for a while now. I love the fact that it's black owned and in historical overtown. We came for happy hour. We had the crab cakes which were huge! They were fried to perfection. My drink was refreshing and tasty. The manager was so accommodating and definitely made sure we had a great experience. My partner had the ribs which he loved. I had the wings and they were bussing (bursting with flavor) . I ordered the Mac and cheese which was oven backed, filled with cheese, and perfectly seasoned. The star of the show was the collard greens. If you know about greens then you know everyone can't make greens. But these greens tasted like big momma was in the back making them. They did not need anything added meaning they were absolutely perfect. Delicious and also had some smoked turkey pieces inside. I am so happy I came and I'll definitely be coming back!

Dedra J.

Yelp
I was visiting from NYC and I wanted some southern food so my friend and I stumbled upon this restaurant The customer service was great the ambiance was inviting but the food was nasty the Mac and cheese taste like boxed the cabbage taste like vinegar No seasoning and definitely NOT grandma's foot.

Yelp
The Ambiance was everything, super cute and chill. Loved our waiter Will. He gave us a very nice experience. The food was great! Very well seasoned.

Yelp
Was working on a project down the street and wanted a healthier option at the end of the day. For some time Ive seen them come up in my options so i decided to grab something esp finding that they were so close to where I was. I ended up getting the grilled chicken salad for take out. The staff was very friendly and the decor inside was warm and welcoming. I would def do an eat in on my next visit based on my 1st impressions when picking up. The chicken salad tasted great and was very filling. You get a good amount of food got what you pay for. What i also like is that the salad was a mix of different greens (and not just nutrient low iceberg lettuce). Definitely a good option in the Overtown area.

Ylanda W.

Yelp
Excellent food and service! When I tell you that this food was good, believe me! We tried several dishes. The fried Red Snapper, amazing! I will be back.

Blown away with everything !!! This food warms the soul and excites your tastebuds all at the same time. The service is impeccable, every person working here made me feel like family .

Yelp
Went for dinner while in town and was not disappointed. I ordered the barbecue rib tips ($13) as an appetizer which was delicious and definitely would've been perfect to split with someone. For my main course I had the seafood cakes ($21) which came with two sides. I chose baked mac & cheese and collard greens. The seafood cakes were a mixture of smoked salmon, shrimp, and crab (might have been imitation crab). Everything tasted great and portions felt just right. The service was really nice as well and though they were close the closing time I didn't feel rushed at all to finish my meal. I was able to find free parking right out front as well which was nice, but I don't know if that's always the case in this area.

Tribecca B.

Yelp
This place is a hidden treasure. The atmosphere is amazing good music. The food is super fresh. The crab cakes whoa 10/10 super packed with meat and flavor. I got the salmon collard greens and the Mac. Everything was bomb must try. Food was so good I had to tell the owner and the chef! Please don't sleep on th

Yelp
Hey guys, so I'm visiting from out of town. We stumbled upon this spot on a rainy day. It is a small space and very intimate. I do believe it was only one waitress working however, she was very friendly and attentive. There was another lady I feel she was the owner or manger due to her attire. The waiter was extremely attentive and kind. So I had the smoked garlic parm wings with collard greens, mac, and cornbread. I also added rice. So the wings were smoked perfectly however, the flavor wasn't quite there for me. The wings were Smokey and tender but the flavor was generic. The collared greens and Mac was perfect. The collards had turkey meat in it and were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The mac was baked and steaming hot which I really appreciate. I added a little salt and pepper but it was superior compared to other places I've tried. The cornbread had honey and butter however, it wasn't as moist as I'd like in the middle. My friend loved it but I think I'm a little more analytical than she is. Over all I'd come back. I wanted to try the fried lobster tail but we had lobster yesterday. I saw one come from the back it looked amazing. So yea try it out

Yelp
Bruh when I say food is BUSSSSSSIIIIIIIIIINNNNNN if you ever get a chance to drop by this restaurant you will definitely not regret it! Dragon fire Shrimp is definitely on point and the the Sirloin Steak with yams and rice and the Mac and Cheese. Anytime I come to Miami I'm making this the first and probably my last restaurant stop when in the city!!!!

B M.

Yelp
Wow, fantastic lunch at this delicious restaurant. Will was awesome managing the lunch rush and the trap playlist tracked. Perfect lunch ambiance. DreamFire shrimp dinner did not disappoint. Spicy sweet and succulent shrimp. The house chutney was cooling and accompanying. Sides were moist cornbread and really cheesy baked macaroni. If that wasn't enough, I got the collards too and they were tender and nourishing. I'll be back for sure. Lots of things to try on this menu. 5*

Yelp
Will was our server and he was excellent. Extremely attentive and very on top of keeping us taken care of. The food WOW!! It was exceptional!!! I had the seafood cakes, mac and cheese and greens with corn bread and it was on point! Best soul food I've had since moving here from Atlanta. I'll definitely be back! Very filling and delicious

Yelp
I wanted to frequent a black owned business as part of my MLK weekend celebration and Lil Greenhouse Grill didn't disappoint. I ordered the ribs with collard greens, Mac and cheese, and cornbread. It was delicious. The ribs were tender and I loved the combination of bbq sauce. The greens were tender and flavorful. The cornbread was just the right consistency. My waiter Will attended to my needs and was friendly. The owner Nicole even stepped out to greet guest. The dining area is cozy and the music gave that neo soul vibe. My experience was enjoyable and I will be back for more.

Gena J.

Yelp
The food was amazing ! The wings and ribs were amazing. Shania was fast and so sweet. The Ambiance was very relaxing!

Yelp
Food was awesome and the service was even better. Here visiting and I would definitely come back! 10/10 I would recommend! We didn't have a reservation but the host Moni got us seated quickly. She was so nice and our waiter Nicole was very pleasant and helped us go over the menu and made great suggestions!

Yelp
Lil' Greenhouse Grill is absolutely delicious! The food was full of flavor; culturally robust; and so worth going back to... I highly recommend...

Yelp
Where do I start? Lil Greenhouse is a quaint little restaurant located in overtown which specializes in southern/soul food. Every dish I had was packed with flavor. Started with the seafood cakes which were delish. Then went for the Dreamfire Shrimp which was fire. The BBQ rib tips were so good I couldn't stop eating them. Each dish had a special sauce which paired perfectly well. The sides I had were the Mac n cheese, baked beans, and collard greens and were all hits. The seasoning, texture, multiple flavors all made each dish fantastic no lie one of the best meals I've had in 22. If your looking to try multiple yummy dishes with good service and great prices this is your place to explore, they have an all day menu, where you can enjoy lunch, dinner, or brunch.

Yelp
A little place with a lot of soul. Food: 5/5 The dream fire shrimp tastes like how it sounds. Sweet and spicy at the perfect degree of each. The grilled lobster special was among the best lobster dishes I had anywhere. Ambiance: 5/5 It's small but very tastefully put together. Had live singing that day, which we enjoyed a lot. Had very calming vibes. Service: 5/5 Our waitress was attentive and helpful in ordering. The owner, Nicole, is both warm and welcoming, just as you might expect of such a tasteful place. Made a great birthday dinner. Will visit again when in Brickell.

Yelp
I was first introduced to Lil Greenhouse Grill via The New Tropic when they hosted a dinner there over a year ago. The food was amazing for that event, and getting to know the two business owners was even better. Located in historic Overtown, Lil Greenhouse Grill is serving up food for the soul. It is so good. Last week I was craving wings, so I ordered wings and mac and cheese for dinner. My order was ready in 15 minutes, and a large portion of wings with a side of mac and cheese cost me $14. Upon my first visit I also tried the rib tips, chicken and waffles, and shrimp and grits (which were divine). I will most definitely be back - friendly service, awesome food - what more can you ask for?

Yelp
If you're in Miami and haven't been to Lil Greenhouse Grill yet... you're missing out. Hands down some of the best soul food in the area and to top it off everything warm and friendly service from Ms. Nicole. Though I'm in Miami at least once every other week I had never made it to this spot. Friends that were visiting all the way from Jacksonville had it on their Yelp list of places to try. Driving into the area we found most places and easily drove past the Lil Greenhouse before the GPA told us to do a u-turn. From the moment we entered the door it was great service. When the food arrived there were was no disappointments. -Rib Tips & Smoked wings are finger-licking good. Tender fall off the bone good. -Baked Mac & Cheese - taste like a Sunday dinner no matter what day you order. -Seafood cakes with house made Aoli - they do not skip on the seafood! -Collard Greens - thank God they don't put sugar in the green. -Cornbread - it's like cake. -Wine and cocktails were mixed to perfection. Take advantage of their PickUp or Delivery Service (UberEats, Grubhub, Doordash and Postmates) now and dine in later.

Yelp
Best greens in Florida. Nicole the Owener great food and greeting everyone making sure they are comfortable. Was taking food to go to beat traffic so I thought this food made traffic jam like a breeze.

Yelp
I came in today to try something new before we live back home. However a group of white women came in maybe 10 min into us being setting. Why did they bring out their tables food before ours and only recommended a free drink !! P.s they supposed to be black owned very disappointed

Yelp
"Come & get some Soul Food... Good old fashion Soul Food"... Ordered takeout today & all I can say is WOW! soooooo YUM! I had the Seafood Cake Platter with Yellow Rice, Corn & Cornbread. Everything was perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned & perfectly delicious. The aioli for the seafood cake was also great. Truly felt the love in the food and will definitely be back to eat-in next time!

Yelp
This is the best restaurant I've eaten at in quite a while. The conch fritters, macaroni and cheese, and mashed potatoes...in other words, everything I ordered...were great! Our server, Will was wonderful! He was friendly and provided an excellent overview of everything on the menu. I would highly recommend Lil Greenhouse Grill to anyone who is looking for great food and an inviting atmosphere.

Yelp
Finding hidden gems is my steez! I love eating at local spots where the heart and soul can be found in the food. This is up the street from my job located in historic Overtown and I am truly happy to see black businesses opening and thriving in this area. Let's start with the vibe: low sultry lighting that was even appealing during the day, neo soul music floating through the air and the smell of amazing food. My table was a party of three so I was able to try a little bit of everyone's food. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was decent, but I think the grits could've been a little bit more creamier. I took my leftovers home and added cheese and it was great! Next time, I'll def order the chicken wing dinner because I tried the Dreamfire, which is a great balance of salty, sweet and spicy and lemon pepper flavor from my friends and it was so bomb. Omg, perfectly cooked, not overdone and dry, the lemon pepper wasn't overly lemon-y lol. I loved the wings! This is a great place for brunch on the weekend with friends, or even a quiet place for one.

Yelp
Good service and good food. Plus I got to use a Groupon which made the experience even better. This was my first time trying the food here and I was on business travel. I recommend any desert on the menu they are all tasty. I had the ribs they were s little spicy but overall tasty and not too greasy.

Yelp
Stopped in to this unpretentious place on a whim just to kill some time and was pleasantly surprised. Live music, upbeat and not too loud, great drink prices and excellent wings with cornbread. Wings were crispy, the cornbread delicate with just the right sweetness, and the wine a very generous pour. The staff was VERY friendly and service great.

Yelp
Check this place out and you will be glad you did! The food is perfectly suited to the soul food menu it claims to be. We started with the wings and finished with the amazing banana pudding (reminded me if my childhood). The three of us ordered the ribs, fish cakes, chicken and waffles, black eyed peas, mashed potatoes, baked beans, and mac snd cheese. Loved it all! The staff was attentive, helpful, and funny. Additionally, they offer live entertainment. The place is SMALL but don't let that scare you off.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the place was a nice vibe. I ordered the collar greens macaroni and cheese rib tips. Everything was so good. The macaroni and cheese was creamy and cheesy. I rarely eat collard greens, but I love the color greens. I will come back to try different things highly recommend if you'd like to eat soul food.

Warm welcome, delicious food and eclectic menu. I really enjoyed what I ordered and the amount of time it took to get my order ready for me to enjoy. Can't wait to try more things soon!
