"Price: $$ The name of this pizza food truck helps spell out a lot. Parked at Tweedy’s, Li’l Nonna’s aims to be that comforting spot you stop at for food that feels like a warm hug. What’s different, though, is Li’l Nonna’s offers its 14-inch New York-style pizzas and 12-inch gluten-free pizzas with various vegan and vegetarian toppings. Go wild, and pile your pizza high with vegan mozzarella, beet-based pepperoni, seitan sausage, and smoky tempeh. For those who believe pineapple belongs on pizza, try out the Piña Jalapeño, topped with a combination of pineapple, pickled jalapeños, roasted garlic, organic tomato sauce, and homemade vegan mozzarella. Place takeout and DoorDash delivery orders online. Know before you go: Check its Instagram for updates on its location, pricing, and other information." - Nadia Chaudhury
"A vegan pizza operation that began as a food truck is closing its brick-and-mortar restaurant at the Crossing at Parmer Lane, with the last day of service on Sunday, October 13; the owner cited leaving Texas and broader pressures on vegan businesses, and a new tenant is already lined up. The original food truck remains active, continuing service at North Campus bar Tweedy’s." - Nadia Chaudhury
"The pizza trailer relocated to North Campus bar Tweedy’s still serving its fantastic vegan pies, like the barbecue jackfruit or the “meaty” Meat Out with beet pepperoni, Italian seitan sausage, and smoky tempeh. Takeout orders can be placed online; there are indoor and outdoor dine-in areas." - Nadia Chaudhury
"I tracked Li’l Nonna’s (the vegan pizza truck) through a brief, messy shutdown and a relocation: owner Rob Lordi temporarily shuttered the truck on December 20 to coincide with Ani’s closure and a gap between a temporary permit and the start of a permanent permit renewal, then explained on Instagram on January 3 that the truck had been affected by “some issues going on with Ani’s ownership and lease status.” Because the truck was parked on Ani’s alfresco space but staff needed indoor bathroom access, Lordi improvised—opening for service on January 4 with a porta-potty for staff—and the truck stayed open through January 16, often selling out. Planning to operate fully elsewhere, Lordi relocated Li’l Nonna’s to Tweedy’s (2906 Fruth Street) as its new permanent address; Li’l Nonna’s originally opened in 2016, had been at Ani’s since November 2023, and Lordi also opened a brick-and-mortar, Big Nonna’s, in 2020 in the Crossing at Parmer Lane neighborhood." - Nadia Chaudhury
