"Locals stop by Liliha Bakery for rainbow layer cakes, mochi donuts, and Coco Puffs, chocolate-pudding cream puffs topped with frosting. But the original Liliha Bakery location also happens to double as a legendary diner, serving excellent crisp waffles, butter rolls with nuclear red jelly, and oxtail soup. Though the business has many more locations now, a seat at the counter of the original on Kuakini Street is still the best move." - Martha Cheng

Google
Fantastic that is kid friendly and has delicious diner classics mixed with Hawaiian flavors! Great pastries like the coco puffs. Amazing oxtail soup especially. Also clean bathroom. Will be back for sure!

Just off our flight and had to find a comfortable and relaxing place to unwind and enjoy a good meal with my family. Service was good, we were all seated quickly. Large menu item along with local favorites to try. The bakery up front and dining area in the back.

Google
This is my happiest place. Best place to go for coco puffs and bakery items because the line is never really long, and it moves quickly. Obviously, some of the best bakery items on the island, but the food is also amazing as well.

Google
Amazing!!! I love getting breakfast here. The grilled butter roll and jelly is sooooo good!! I highly recommend the French toast and locomoco. The scramble was good but not anything special. They seat you very quickly and serve you fast as well. Service is 10/10. Prices have increased but the food is worth it.

Google
This was my favorite stop in Honolulu while traveling. The loco moco was really good but it was the bread that really blew me away. So soft and buttery. I ll be dreaming of that breakfast for a while.

Kendra Johnson

Google
This establishment is a highly recommended dining destination located in the picturesque island of Hawaii. The breakfast menu, particularly the Loco Moco, is consistently exceptional and satisfying. However, the true highlight of the dining experience is the complimentary bread and jelly served at the beginning of the meal, which is truly remarkable. Additionally, the family-style atmosphere creates a warm and welcoming environment, reminiscent of being surrounded by one's own extended family.

Very good pastries. Particularly enjoyed the chocolate croissant. Very busy and a little more expensive than I would have expected. Great atmosphere. Be sure to take a number. Its not obvious.

Yelp
Omg after all these years I finally came here for 3pm lunch and almost empty. Esther is our server and super friendly. 5 stars. Not sure what to order and Esther recommended Mushroom chicken Locomoco Meatloaf plate 5 stars. My partner orders the fried chicken. Juicy crunchy, huge and flavorful. 5 stars Butter rolls juicy with butter , is that gewd? Looking forward to coming here again.

Yelp
Was in the Waikiki area and we wanted to pick up some puffs before heading back to Aulani. This location was the nearest one. Getting in and out of this plaza is a bit of a challenge. It's on a busy street and traffic is zooming by. The staff was friendly and helpful. This location is more modern and larger than the OG. I've never eaten here so this is a review of their bakery area. They have a large area for bakery and it's filled with everything you can imagine. For those of you from the mainland, think of this as a Marie Calendars. There's something for everyone. One day I'll have to try the diner. The parking lot is small as it's shared between a couple of other restaurants. Definitely worth it for the sweets!

Yelp
Came here two nights ago for dinner after viewing the honolulu city lights. Service was fast and there was even space for a stroller next to the table. Luckily it wasn't crowded.

Yelp
So great to finally go to this institution for a meal vs their poi donuts! First off, service was very slow...there were only 2 servers for the entire restaurant it seemed but 3 people seating people. The portions were large. Had a very delicious oxtail soup which came 10 minutes before the next dish, a miso butterfish. So was happy to have the time to share my dish. But it took 15 minutes for the server to collect the bill so I brought it to the front...who promptly gave it back to the server to process. It took another 5 minutes...meanwhile my table was cleaned completely. So 4 for food, 2 for service.

Yelp
Visited recently and had a wonderful experience! The ambience was absolutely fantastic, creating the perfect setting for a great evening. The service was attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home. The food had delightful flavors and was well-prepared, while the drinks were simply delicious. Definitely a place worth visiting! Came on a Monday morning before our flight and seated quickly with my daughters

Yelp
We came here for lunch right after landing in HNL. The service was quick and the food was great! I ordered the locomotives and it was delicious. My fiancé ordered the 3pc chicken and it was a bit dry but it didn't come with any sauce. We loved the cream puffs. The ambiance is very nice with nice tables and a home-feel.

Yelp
A small group of 5 came to eat breakfast. Two had 1 pancake each. Another two had the waffle and/or waffle with chicken. I had the full stack of 3 banana pancakes and separate check. Our orders arrived after we waited a while. It should have been a clue or indication to me that our waiter was not listening to us from the start. One asked if they have chop steak since she had it at the Liliha Kuakini location. His answer was "yes". She further asked did it come with veg..and he said "we have plenty...chopsticks"...oh boy the young man was on a different wave length. When my turn came I pointed on the menu and said "banana pancakes full stack separate check" when he took our menus my knife was knocked on the floor by his feet and he picked it up. We were catching up and the two single pancakes were brought then a stack of pancakes were placed in front of me. I asked - "banana?". She replied "no, regular". I said I ordered banana and she took them away. Then 10 min later she came back with our waiter and he pointed to his pad and said you changed your mind you ordered regular. I said no I ordered banana and did not change my mind. The waffles and chicken order arrived. I was still waiting and he came back and said 3 minutes. Everyone else finished their meal. I was still waiting around 20 minutes later and my banana pancakes did not arrive. When it did I ate one and asked for a box. They are not as fluffy as the former Likelike Drive In. The banana slices were in the batter. Since my order arrived split open it was left on the griddle for a while. The waiter came back with one check and I had to ask again for a separate check. I received a small piece of paper and had to waive it in the air with my credit card since he only put the other receipt in the jacket. I had to ask for a knife even though he picked up the one that fell on the ground. As we were leaving I asked to speak to the manager. She came and I explained what happened with the wrong order and being accused of changing my mind and the long wait and piece of paper for my bill and it's hard to have it picked up without the case to hold the receipt and payment. Her reply was "Sorry. I will talk to him". I have had better service at the Kuakini and Ala Moana and Pearl Highlands locations. It appears the Nimitz location customer service is lacking or at a lower level. Too bad.

Yelp
Me and my wife had NO idea where to have a small rehearsal lunch place that wouldn't break the bank for us and hold 27 people. My cousin was super familiar and suggested that Liliha would be big enough for us and wouldn't be too bad price wise. It was a little tricky too since they do not take reservations and we were coming in around lunch time. They had no issue putting us on the waitlist and somehow got all of us seated in less than 30 minutes! The staff here was so friendly and helpful. They waited on us with no issue and food came out very fast. I ordered the New York Steak and Eggs with a Guava Plantation Iced Tea and my wife the Kim Chee Fried Rice and Eggs. The food is very solid. It has a diner vibe with a Hawaiian twist. There wasn't one person who wasn't happy and satisfied at our table. They also sold all of us on cream puffs which were huge! Favorite one was the green tea one. I am always going to have a place in my heart for Liliha Bakery for being so accommodating and serving great food to me and my family. We will be back!

Marilyn B.

Yelp
Go early and find parking as these 2 adjacent restaurants are very popular! There is usually a line and you have to wait a little bit, but once you are seated, the food is worth the wait! Our servers were excellent and always gave us refills on hot water and tea. Bring your friends and family who are visiting out of town or just come and enjoy since Lucky We Live in Hawaii! Ambiance is great, lots of room and elbow space to grind! Take home pastries when you leave! Happy Eating!

Gladys P.

Yelp
Went to the bakery on Nimitz, had trouble finding parking but be patient because it's worth it! Looks much nicer inside than outside. I can't believe I didn't take any pictures of the food but we dug right in, that's how good it was. Ordered the oxtail soup and chicken karaage, both were delicious. Took a box of coco puffs back to the hotel, they were amazing!

Justin S.

Yelp
The food at this Liliha Bakery location was just as good as the other locations. The prices are reasonable for the portion size as well. The service by this staff was excellent. They helped us out by relocating us to a lower level table after noticing that one person in our party was using crutches. The ambiance was a little dark the restaurant. But the ambiance was very relaxing and welcoming.

Clarissa V.

Yelp
Well the napoleon while the top layer looked as it needed to look the rest of the napoleon was mushy. The malasada Boston creams or whatnot the donut part tasted kind of stale day old. It's not the best. Everything looks pretty but. It's. Just not my go to. This is the second Liliha Bakery I've been and still have had disappointing experiences. The pineapple was nice

Jen C.

Yelp
Good local place to bring out of town folks, I had an ox tail soup for lunch which was really yummy although the meat wasn't cooked long enough where it's tender and falling off the bone but was still good. You can add saimin to the ox tail soup but i just got mine with white rice. The complimentary bread with jam was a hit while we were waiting for our food to arrive. Seems a little dark inside but maybe i'm just getting old. Service was quick and food came out in a reasonable time. We were lucky to get the last parking as the lot was full. Must visit the bakery, they have so much goodies to buy, the cocoa puffs are always a winner but so much other cakes, cookies, pastries to buy too!

Yelp
Liliha Bakery is one of the highly recommended restaurants in Honolulu, Hawaii. They have multiple locations in the Honolulu/Waikiki area, but we visited their Nimitz location. You can eat at their restaurant and/or enjoy baked goods like cakes and pastries. I was surprised to see that they baked Ensaymada, which is one of my favorite Filipino breads. Foods: Smoked Pork Belly Loco Moco - It is very flavorful. Their gravy is very delicious. I've always wanted to try an authentic Loco Moco, and this dish did not disappoint. Fried Chicken - The highlight of our meal. It is crunchy and is tasty Oxtail Soup - The broth is very flavorful; however, I'm not fond of the cilantro. This reminded me of Pho soup. Hamburger Steak - The patties are well seasoned, but the gravy makes this entree more delicious. Smoked Pork Belly - This is similar to Smoked Belly loco moco but without the gravy. Smoking this dish adds more flavor. Ambiance: The restaurant is wide and open. The restaurant area seems tighter compared to the bakery area. Service: The staff were friendly and helpful. They will let you know immediately if there's an issue with the food. We went to Liliha Bakery twice during our 6-day Hawaii trip because we wanted to try more of the dishes on the menu. They definitely did not disappoint. You should add this to your list if you are in the Honolulu area.

Yelp
About a 2-2.5: Liliha Bakery is a full-service bakery and coffee shop that has been around since 1950. They're known for their puffs, so we stopped by to grab some after having dinner in the area. We ordered a couple of their Coco Puffs - the puff itself was a little soggy and wet, but it was filled generously with chocolate pudding and topped with a thick, buttery chantilly frosting that tasted similar to dulce de leche. There were several staff available behind the bakery case, readily to assist and help you build a box. There is also a table with various baked items, and a sit-down area to order off of their larger menu that offers entrees and meals. Small shared parking lot available. +go earlier for fresher puffs? +readily available staff +small shared strip plaza lot for parking available

Yelp
Arrived for a late breakfast (around 10am) & was keeping my fingers crossed there wouldn't be a long wait. Got lucky and barely waited 5 minutes after adding my name on the waitlist! As soon as we sat down, our server brought water & asked if there was anything else we would like to drink, and if we had any questions. Gave us a couple of minutes to look over the menu & we decided on the chicken & waffles and grilled pork belly w/fried rice. He returned with toasted dinner rolls & guava jelly (sooo ono!). Our entrees arrived fairly quick, maybe 12-15 minutes, hot and smelling amazing! Our meals were delicious & left nothing on the plate, not even one grain of rice!

Yelp
Went for Saturday morning breakfast and were able to easily get a table. There is ample seating, but it is a little squishy in there. I got a fried rice loco moco and I loved how garlicky the rice was. The overall dish was a little on the saltier side, but still delicious. I loved the butter rolls that came with the dish -- toasted to perfection. It was also very convenient for us to pick up some Cocoa Puffs before heading out.

Yelp
Went on Sept 29, 2024 for breakfast with my girlfriend from Madera, California I ate the chocolate chip pancakes and side order of bacon. My friend ate a single pancake with and egg on the side and fresh fruit and we both had coffee. The service is awesome on a busy Sunday morning the ambience is super chill she loved it here today.

Tara L.

Yelp
Went at 8am for bfast on a week day and no line! Plus there was parking! Got ham and sunnyside up eggs with fried rice. Very interesting that even the bfast plate comes with a side salad. Im not complaining, makes it a bit lighter and "healthier". Ham slices were on the thinner side but very tasty. And just glad they had ham since some places dont have this leaner bfast meat option anymore. Cant forget the famous rolls with bright red jelly. *drool* I mean, did you even go to liliha if you didnt eat this?!

Craig T.

Yelp
Nimitz Liliha Bakery always crowded especially on the weekends. Lots of tourists comes to this particular Liliha Bakery. They have a nice big selection of Bake good along with their Bajery Support local Support local when possible

Michelle N.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch and we had to wait maybe 15 mins for a table. They were pretty busy but were seating people at a good pace. My table ordered - clam chowder - 2 egg breakfast - denver omelet - hamburger steak The clam chowder was good but it was pretty small in size. The 2 egg breakfast and Denver omelet were standard and hit the spot. My friends hamburger steak was good, just a tad bit salty. Our server was very friendly and refilled water, coffee, and checked in on us. She was great ! We also got a cream puff & coco puff to go. Coco puff over cream puff

Shantel M.

Yelp
First stop Liliha Bakery. Off the airplane and the location on Nimitz opens at 6:30am. Seated quickly, bakery is open at the same time as well. As I walked in the workers bringing the fresh baked/pastries. It smelled so good. Ordered an Oreo cupcake, steak and over easy eggs with butter rolls, yum! Everyone very welcoming. Bought 2 jelly to bring back home.

Charae P.

Yelp
Love liliha bakery chains! Especially this one because it's clean, always plenty of seating, and the staff is always so quick and friendly! Food is good , large portions and super tasty! This time I went with a loco moco. Usually I get oktail soup, but wanted a change this time around! Happy aapinh month!!

Joey L.

Yelp
Located fairly close to HNL airport, we've been coming to this location since it was the old Sam Choy's. Always a great stop after a flight in, Liliha Bakery's cafe location is a big upgrade from the old owner. Modern, clean interior, friendly service, great menu, and a full bakery helps you knock out multiple stops in one place. Stands out are the loco moco (smoked pork loco moco is great), oxtail soup with saimin, any breakfast, and garlic shrimp. Not the cheapest place to eat but a great first stop in to get a good meal and a bunch of bakery snacks to stock up.

Lou C.

Yelp
I really don't know how I can begin to tell you how dissatisfied we were. My friends and I came to Liliha Bakery on Nimitz last month. We experienced the worst customer service, not from one employee but almost everyone we encountered that night. It was borderline xenophobic, racist or homophobic. We were 2 local guys, a black guy from the mainland and me (I don't look local enough). When we walked in, not knowing which entrance (after the main entrance) to go. One said Coffee Shop and the other one said Bakery. I remember I went to the one at Ala Moana Center, we could order from bakery and sat at the coffee shop. I asked the hostess about where to sit after we order stuff from the bakery. She didn't respond. Instead, she grabbed napkins and utensils with the worst attitude like she really hated to see us there. Was it because we were mahus? She walked so fast and threw the utensils on a table furthest from the entrance. We were all looking at each other, what just happened? I looked at a man standing by the cooking station, could be a supervisor or just a cook. He acted like we were crazy. If I was not craving for that goddamn chantilly cake from Liliha Bakery and stayed open late, I would have gone to Foodland. As we stood there for about a minute to decide, I walked over to bakery and ordered us some pastries worth about $40 and proceeded to sit at an open table. I remained calm and cool because I was only a visitor. While we were having a good time enjoying the pastries, a waitress walked to our table and said, "would you like something to drink?" and walked away immediately. What the F**k was that? Tell me if that was a robot just announced few words and rolled away. Was I dreaming? No, everyone in my party confirmed that was her saying in real life. You know, if she stayed a little longer, I would order something for everyone. I have never felt that much hostility by any restaurant employees in Honolulu before, not even the years I lived on the island. That was enough cultural shock for the night. So, we left. I would never set foot at this place again. But I would go to a different Liliha Bakery that would treat their customers with respect.

Eun P.

Yelp
Delicious butter rolls and great loco moco. The loco moco had a good smokey flavor. The chicken cutlet was subpar. Not crispy at all and lacked flavor even drenched in the gravy. Very overpriced as well at over $18. I tried their karaage last time which was a bit better than the chicken cutlet but still not great. I haven't tried their other items but if I'm back I'll stick to the loco moco!

Shawlien K.

Yelp
I always have to visit Liliha when I visit Oahu! They have one of the best loco mocos. Their gravy is so tasty, and they are generous with how much gravy they give. I get the loco moco with fried rice and scramble eggs on top. Their butter rolls literally melt in your mouth. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, and it's super buttery. I'm a sucker for a good Mac salad, and theirs is a combo of potato and mac salad. Great texture and I like how hawaiin Mac salads don't taste to mayonnaisey. This location is very nice inside. Very big and open. Lots of seating and bakery is in the front. Very clean and good service. Lots of parking also.

Taylor T.

Yelp
We surprised my grandma from visiting from Colorado and the restaurant and servers were able to accommodate our family of 20! Service was fantastic and everyone was very friendly. Everything was very good and came out hot and fresh! We got the loco moco with fried rice and chicken karaage. Definitely don't forget to stop by the bakery on your way out to get some puffs! Try one of each!

Gail U.

Yelp
Fast friendly service for early dine in breakfast. When you come early there's lots of parking and open tables. They have take out boxes for food but not for beverages. Before you leave you might want to check out the cakes, pastries, cookies and I even saw beef jerky for sale. Bring a light jacket or sweater. It was super cold in there... hibernation!

Vanessa A.

Yelp
We love visiting Liliha every time we are on the island! The food, service, value and atmosphere can't be beat! We are huge fans of the butter rolls, as well as taking bakery items to go. A must when you visit Honolulu!

Ki R.

Yelp
Great pastries and cakes, the service is great too. We came in for some late night snacks after dinner. The coco puffs are their famous best sellers, and the rolled cakes are pretty tasty, too. We couldn't sit at a table or a booth because they were reserved for diners. But, we were able to sit at the kitchen facing counter. This was awesome watching the cooks and being able to see the plates of food go out to be served. Our waiter was a sweetheart, she smiled and didn't complain that we only ordered coffees to go with our sweets. Everything was fantastic and delicious. Oh yeah, their shortbread cookies are delicious, too. Mahalo and enjoy!

Brittany S.

Yelp
fyi: *you cant call in an order ahead unless you provide your card info over the phone* this is information given by a rude lady over the phone from their nimitz location tonight.

Jane N.

Yelp
The service was fast and friendly. The food was amazing! And of course we were there for the coco puffs! The ambiance was like a diner but more upscale. The building is fairly new. A great place to gather with friends and family. Not to fancy or expensive. Just right!

Michelle J.

Yelp
Always a great place to grab breakfast. We were early on a Saturday morning and was seated right away. There's lots of parking but this place can get very busy. This is the second location. Original location located in Liliha only bar seating. There are 3 other locations on the island 1) in Macy's Ala Moana, 2) International Market Place in Waikiki, and 3) Pearl City Highlands Shopping center near the movie theaters. Friendly service and good food. Prices have gone up in the years but the food is tasty.

Michael I.

Yelp
WORST GARLIC CHICKEN ON ISLAND!!! First off, if you're looking for crispy garlic chicken like most locals would think of this is not the place (they should tell you that up front). Second, this was the driest, most flavorless chicken thigh I've ever eaten. On top of everything else the potato salad was crunchy - I guess they were too busy being rude on the phone to actually cook the food. I guess I'll stick to the original Liliha Bakery or Ala Moana location. Very disappointing.

Jonathan K.

Yelp
Liliha Bakery is so popular, it actually branched out of Liliha and now has stores all over Oahu Known for their small home style food and neon pink guava jelly, Liliha is the nostalgic home style food packed with flavor that you know what you're going to get every time A local classic is the loco moco with a hamburger patty cooked with salt and pepper, two eggs but you gotta get them over easy for the yolk shot, rice, all covered with luscious and rich brown gravy that brings the whole plate together into warmth and nostalgia If you're into pastries they also have a whole wall of pastries and even take home boxes for the plane before your flight

Tuyetnhi M.

Yelp
The food looks basic but it is DELICIOUS! We tried the garlic chicken, fish, loco moco, and pork belly entrees and wow! Everything was a 5/5 except the loco moco was a 4/5. Service was good and casual ambiance. They have soooooo many desserts, we only tried the puffs, and unfortunately the cream puffs fell flat for us. But definitely give them a try and judge it for yourself.

Sabrina C.

Yelp
After 4 nights in Honolulu we got to go here on our way to the airport. It was literally the best meal I had the whole trip. Service was friendly and fast. We had 3 dishes and a pancake. All of it was really good. I personally had toe mushroom chicken with potato Mac salad and garlic fried rice. All of it was yummy. The bakery is super cute. Took home an apple turnover for the flight and I wish I would have bought 10 more.

Ross T.

Yelp
After having dinner our guess wanted to get some ice cream and mochi donuts they have heard about. So we decided to go to Liliha Bakery on Nimitz Hwy, after going through the menu, I asked the waitress if they had a dessert menu, which she said only dessert we have is in the bakery products. I asked any ice cream, which she said sorry only pasties. So we picked up some of the different pastries and left decided to go to Magnolia's ice cream parlor.

Titi R.

Yelp
Stopped here at night after an event and we all grabbed breakfast. Menu looks a little different but it's been awhile since I have been. I had the French toast and my friend had the waffles. Food is always good, service was quick, was a little busy for being later in the evening but the ambiance is always nice

Jaimie S.

Yelp
Came here for lunch with my family and I got the Chicken Karaage. It had a LB on it meaning Liliha's Bestseller so I went with that. Lol They served the chicken Karaage with the sauce on the side without me asking and I appreciated that because i was able to share with my daughter. The sauce is a bit on the spicy side but not too spicy. Sooo good tho! I liked it! They also serve those buttered rolls with the jelly omgg it's heaven! My daughter is a picky eater and she ate so much of those rolls! I was a little overwhelmed with the menu but it was such a nice selection of different foods for everyone's different cravings. I absolutely love that. The server was very attentive and came constantly making sure we were ok. And I loved how she wasn't hard to flag them down because there was always someone insight. Although we never had to because everything was perfect. I also got their iced coffee. Vanilla sweetened, and it was surprisingly super good!! I'd get it again. The lights in here are on the dimmer side so it does make it look a little more fancier. And the noise level is pretty even. Loud enough for conversations and quiet enough to hear them. Hahaha. Great place for breakfast lunch & dinner. On the way out, walk past the bakery & don't forget your dessert! We didn't! We left with 2 boxes full of pastries!

Evonne C.

Yelp
[Food] - Saimin ($9.50): I know this is basically a wonton type of noodle soup, but I just can't get enough of it when I'm in Hawaii. Savory and comforting! - Loco Moco ($17.50): Make sure you mix this well with rice as it can get a bit too salty. Enjoyed this overall, as the gravy, patty, rice, and egg all balanced out well together. - 3 Hotcakes ($12.95): A bit dry, so I will skip on this next time. We got this mainly because my family wanted a sweet breakfast option as well. [Service] - Fast, friendly, patient - Pretty busy when we came on a Wednesday at 9:30am; About a 45 minute wait for a party of 9. [Ambiance] - Bakery and dine-in services with decent amount of seating indoors. [Overall] - Would come back again for the Saimin and Loco Moco, but would definitely love to try other dishes as well.

Joshua W.

Yelp
Everything I've ordered has been delicious! The hamburger steak, the fried chicken, the mac salad, the rolls, not to mention all of the pastries. It's a must.

Zahra K.

Yelp
Came for the cream puffs, we tried the chocolate one. It is a bustling bakery inside a mall. It tends to get very busy so you do have to take a number to order. We had a meal so only want to satisfy our sweet tooth. And it hit the spot

Shani S.

Yelp
You really can't go wrong with stopping in here for some pastries. They have such a large variety of things to choose from. Location: Same parking lot as Little Joe's (all owned by the same company) Parking is in front of the store, on the sides and some in the back. Items: They have grab and go items like cookies, brownies, chex mix etc. Then you have their amazing cakes and pies and fancy custard cups. Move over to their pastry area and they have savory items as well as sweet. You can get the old school hot dog in the bun treat or go with their poi donuts. You simply can't go wrong. They use a pull the number type of system so when you walk in, go grab a number first then look at all the things you want to get. They also have a restaurant, I have not eaten there but here it is similar to Zippys.

Gerald P.

Yelp
Passing by after picking up good friend at the airport,on Nimitz, remember the bldg being the old Sam Choy's while living in Vegas. Nice modern interior, open Kitchen , seated & served by Victoria Very friendly & attentive server, brought us coffee. & waters. Ordered oxtail soup, Saimin with shrimp & scrambled eggs with sausage which came with a scoop of white rice. Food came out after a short period. Presentation was nice, soups hot temperature, & plate of eggs right. All food was to everyone's liking. Clean restrooms too! A good place to have a nice stop & meal, excellent bakery goods, known for crème puffs

Yelp
I've always gotten baked goods like liliha bakery but have actually never dined in. So my first time was a pretty pleasant experience. We were seated quickly and the ambiance of the bakery felt like a vintage diner due to its decorations and warm lighting. I really didn't know what I wanted to eat so I took a while to decide as nothing stood out to me on the menu. My partner picked for me as I was really stuck and I got the steak and grilled shrimp. I asked for no rice so I just got corn and salad (dressing in the side). It was pretty good, the shrimp was flavorful and the steak was good as well. Main complaint is that due to the inconsistency size of the steak, some parts were much more cooked than others, so some would be considered as medium well others would be considered as rare even... This led to some parts being slightly chewy as well. The complimentary bread was devoured by my partner so I didn't even get a chance to try, however he loved it and I could smell the buttery goodness it was. They have a very large sweets and baked goods selection and I was sooo tempted but just wasn't in the mood unfortunately (rare for me that's for sure). Though, I have tried their poi mochi donuts and they are to die for. I would personally take them over their iconic cream puffs *crowd gasps*. I personally would probably stick with just visiting for the sweets. The food didn't stand out to me too much but I wouldn't mind dining here again.

Yelp
Liliha is a Restaurant & a Bakery with a few locations in Honolulu. This was on my list of places to try while in Oahu... Also, Geoffrey from Enterprise Car Rental recommended we try it... Liliha Bakery is a full on restaurant & not just a Bakery. When you first walk in, all you see are the cases of cakes & desserts. My blood sugar shot up just by looking at everything, lol. Omg, so many desserts. Breakfast items are served all day here, according to the waitress. It was an early dinner or late lunch for us coming from Cali time. We definitely came hungry. Our Orders: Butter Rolls - Soo good. Pillowy, buttery bread. Slap on some jam, that's the the business! Oxtail Soup - Huge Bowl of Soup with two good sized pieces of oxtail, w/ green onions, cilantro & a generous amount of peanuts. Comes with your choice of two huge scoops of white or brown rice & can't forget the side of fresh ginger.. Broth was good & I had leftovers. Fried Chicken - Huge pieces of fried chicken that comes w/ a scoop of rice, corn, and your choice of mixed greens or potato-mac salad... We ordered the 3 piece, which was way too much for 2 people. It was good, just wasn't expecting Huge Chicken Pieces. Definitely had leftovers. Didn't end up eating those leftovers. Chicken Karaage - My son ordered this, but he didn't particularly care for it. He said the chicken was a bit tough. But he didn't mention it until later on that night :/ All the Desserts were sweet! Only tried these: Poi Donut - less sweet imo Green Tea Cream Puff - good fresh Coco Puff - Sweet! But A favorite Lilikoi Malasada - should be eaten fresh, mine had a sour taste Overall, If I come back to visit Honolulu, I would come back to Liliha Bakery again, & definitely try Breakfast :)

Yelp
I've eaten here before but never reviewed them, so here we go! I've been on a waffle roll lately which is what brought me, my spouse and a friend here for breakfast. ATMOSPHERE: Having taken over the former Sam Choy's spot, it's a sizable restaurant with its infamous bakery up front, large central bar, open-view kitchen and mix of seating styles. This is the company's second location of the five in their arsenal. RESERVATIONS: None taken but we easily got in for breakfast on a Saturday morning around 9am. PARKING: Free and adequate. MENU: American & Hawaii-style cuisine for all three meals. Beer & wine. FOOD: Butter Rolls I can't believe these delicious suckers are given to every table! Warm, soft, buttery heaven. Waffard - $16.95 I've been on a waffle roll recently so this caught my attention. Available at four of their five locations (sans the original Kalihi eatery), it's a quartered waffle with custard from their infamous Coco Puffs lathered in between. Loved the crisp & creamy waffles but didn't care for the overly sweet custard. Accompaniments included fresh strawberries, blueberries, sliced almonds and whipped cream. Mushroom Omelet w/ Cheese - $16.95 I added ham to be mixed in for a whopping $6.50 (sides pricing). I didn't care for it as the egg to filling ratio was way off balance as just two-eggs were used. There was also an over abundance of cheese. It was like eating cheesy ham & mushrooms with a hint of egg. I also upgraded to fried potatoes for $0.95 as hash browns aren't on the menu. Expecting yummy seasoned homestyle spuds, I received pretty bland slices of kennebecs. A small salad accompanied but I didn't touch it. Corned Beef Hash - $6.95 Made fresh and not from the can, the patty had good flavor albeit a bit peppery, with a crisp crust. SERVICE: Our female server was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Truly local-style. Waters and coffees were constantly topped-off. TIP: Their hamburger steak's/loco moco's popularities are well-deserved as they're very legit in the authenticity department. OVERALL: If you're looking for a Hawaii style-diner, they are it.
