Lily P’s Review - Kendall Square - Boston - The Infatuation

"Lily P’s is a fried chicken restaurant that also has a raw bar, because every self-respecting restaurant in New England must have a raw bar. The fried chicken comes in three different forms (original, hot, or black pepper honey), and it’s both moist and crispy. There are fried chicken sandwiches here as well, and if you’re looking to nap through the next three hours of post-lunch meetings you have on your schedule, we recommend getting one." - Joel Ang

I've eaten here many times throughout the years. The chicken sandwiches are consistently high quality. They season them very well. My personal favorite is Mr. Henson. The fries are amazing. Some of my favorites in boston.

I get it - rent is not cheap considering the location. And it's a food court. Service was ok, but dude, $18 for mouthfuls of chicken and salad is still way overpriced. That chicken looks NOTHING like in the picture too. Having to witness the guy pull out a bag of way-past-dead frozen chicken cutlets from the freezer after paying, I felt like I was going through the 5 steps of grieving, currently stuck at denial and anger. Edit to add: They actually have a decent restaurant in Cambridge?? Ok now this is officially unacceptable.

Google
I loved the main location in Cambridge and was really craving a fried chicken sandwich so I went to Lily P's in Hub Hall. I paid $13 for what looked like a 3 day old tiny piece of chicken with soggy breading. It still tasted good but frankly I've had better sandwiches at McDonalds for less than half the price. For what it's worth the people working there were great. Strongly recommend the main Cambridge location and strongly recommend avoiding this one.

Google
Worst chicken sandwich i have ever had. Was severely undercooked and mushy, and the fries were over-seasoned. Gave me nausea and food poisoning. Also, the service was terrible, dismissive staff. This place is insanely overpriced too, $20 for a chicken sandwich is some diabolical work. I hope this place gets shut down, go somewhere else

I’ve come here several times and I’ve waited to give this place a chance to see if the food would change in how well it’s cooked but this is my final time coming to Lily P’s because it’s clear that the food is terrible each and every single time. I want to get one thing straight, customer service is amazing. I’ve never had a problem with the people here. They’re always nice and ready to take my order. The issue is the food. The chicken is always dry and tastes as if it has been through an air dryer for longer than it should have. The quality of the food does not match the price you pay. I’ve gotten both the chicken sandwich and the tenders from here and the chicken seems to be made the same way. You’re honestly better off getting chicken from the nearby Mcdonald’s. The chicken is rough and hard and biting into it feels like biting into a hard piece of bread. I’m surprised there haven’t been any improvements to how the food is prepared especially knowing I’m not the first negative review. The fries are decent but heavily seasoned to where it feels overwhelming in flavor. The amount of seasoning feels almost unhealthy. I would not recommend coming here and spending your money on food that clearly is not prepared well or to give your money to an establishment that doesn’t care about the negative reviews they are receiving. Unless you’re drunk after a Celtic’s game and want a quick meal, it’s not worth it.

Google
I'd give this 0 stars if I could. Fries so burnt and chicken was too. They didn't even give me sauce either. 46 dollars later and 80 percent of it went in the trash. Horrible. Absolutely diabolical. Don't recommend. Walk pass this place if you read this. It's not worth it at ALL. trust me, being from boston... this place is a disgrace!

Google
The chicken was pink. PINK! This has to be one of the worst restaurants I have ever had the displeasure of eating at. Horrible service. Horrible food. Horrible prices. I am appalled that this place is still running. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! I had food poisoning for a week….

Google
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 😋🍗 Not sure why the low reviews for this place. The Timmie’s Chicken Tendies from Lily P’s are great and freshly made when you order. $10 for three giant pieces of chicken tenders (as of Jan 2025) is a good deal for the options at Hub Hall. 💲 price compared to other food options at Hub Hall North Station/TD Garden I’ve stopped at Lily P’s Fried Chicken multiple times now while waiting in the commuter train at North Station and never had to wait more than 5 minutes for my order to be ready. Dec worth the price!

Yelp
This place wasn't it. We stopped in the hub hall for some lunch and came upon this place because apparently it was voted 2022 best chicken sandwich .... That's untrue. The chicken itself wasn't a breast I believe it was a thigh so it tasted different. Also there was no Nashville hot taste of anything just more honey on it then anything. Also there fries were hard and tasteless. Wouldn't recommend stopping at this spot in Boston if you are visiting the hub hall.

Yelp
Was really hoping to get some chicken but we came after the lunch rush. Settled for some fresh fries but we're unprepared for how awesome their ranch is! Their service was top notch (they gave us extra ranch for the pizza we got next door because we're heathens that put ranch on pizza)

Yelp
I thought the chicken sandwich was just okay. It was around $11 I think, and it was pretty soggy when I took it out of the wrapping around 15 mins later to eat. There was lots of sauce in it, and the chicken itself wasn't that spicy. I personally lied the CGK in Newbury's chicken sandwich better.

Yelp
My father and I ordered a two piece chicken dinner. They charged us extra because we asked for white meat. When we got our order, we saw they gave us chicken tenders. We told the guy at the counter that he gave us the wrong order and he said no, that's the chicken dinner. Apparently Lily P's Fried Chicken does not sell pieces of chicken rather than chicken tenders. Stick with Popeye's if you're wanting fried chicken.

Yelp
Love love love. Great staff and service. Amazing chicken sandwiches. I like the location in Hubhall because it's convenient but I have been to the Cambridge one as well.

Yelp
Shockingly terrible, chicken sandwich soggy, small, oily, and lacking flavor. Inexplicable for one of their flagship items. I want to believe other locations are more worthy of praise, but there appears to be poor management at this location since this is certainly not what Lily P (Shri we she is) imagined. Ambiance is good hall, which is fine. As other reviewers point out, the distance from kitchen to customer is minimal in a food hall setup so there is no excuse for such cold soggy meal at this price point.

Yelp
I swear the chicken was raw and tasteless the oil was super old too. truly nasty . I can't believe they keep leasing the owners the spot.

Peter O.

Yelp
The food came out cold, which is kinda shocking cause I would expect it to be piping hot given the setup. I think the food is a bit bland, and the chicken was overly chewy. It isn't terrible, but there are probably better options if you're in the mood for a chicken sandwich. I think if you need a fried chicken sandwich fixing, then its fine but thats all that it is- fine.

Yelp
This is a review specifically for the Lily Ps hot chicken sandwich. It was really awful and tasted so deep fried as did the fries. No flavour and super salty, did they use old oil or something? I don't know what happened but it was gros. Don't get this meal if you visit hub hall

Yelp
1 star for Lily P's is a little ridiculous! It's not the best chicken sandwich I've ever had but it was decent. It was a good size... good thing because they're a little expensive. If you're coming to any of the restaurants in hub hall you should be expecting a good court vibe. This is a great place to get a pregame meal but maybe not the best idea to take a first date! If you're in the mindset that this is a food court maybe those 1 stars will increase a little

Yelp
Oily, strange smelling chicken sandwich. I couldn't finish it. The fries all so hard and hollow, like they weee freezer burned. They just tasted like oil. I spent $25 and threw it all away.

Yelp
Got the lower broadway which is supposed to be Nashville hot. The chicken was not red nor spicy, small portion, but tasted fine. Ranch fries had a very mild ranch taste and were overall okay. Somewhat disappointing as I love fried chicken sandwiches. Would give it a B- and there are better places at Hub Hall.

R C.

Yelp
Awful sandwich. Not sure if chicken was undercooked or if it is supposed to be pink when pressure fried? Bun was stale. Chicken itself tasted horrible. Was not fun the next morning.

Tori A.

Yelp
Literally so nasty- 9 bucks for 3 unseasoned, chewy chicken tenders that had multiple unidentifiable lumps in each one. Nah.

Honora P.

Yelp
mid ass sandwich. weirdly cold. i could have gotten a better sandwich from mcdonald's without paying 12.95. felt guilty for spending that much money on a sandwich so i ate the whole thing and i just feel sad now

Christie R.

Yelp
overpriced small mostly batter chicken sandwich doesn't even come with fries have to pay separately for those Lily P is scamming everyone

Jace T.

Yelp
We ordered 2 of the Lower Broadway sandwiches and both were very bad. The bread was stale and the chicken was tasteless and didn't seem fresh. It was quite soggy and a mushy mess. The entire skin slid right off the chicken as I took a bite which shows how soggy it was.
