"Opened seven years ago, the restaurant has a rustic edge with vintage canteen-style furniture that evokes waves of nostalgia across a dimly lit venue. Limapulo (which means fifty in Malay), is managed by a team of Malaysian chefs. It’s best to choose plates for sharing and be sure to order the popular Nyonya laksa – a standout dish indeed. The signature sate has a special sauce homemade from star fruits and pineapple. Some menu items are only available on certain days." - Michelin Inspector

A hidden gem for Nyonya and Jawa cuisine! You can find authentic flavors here — I especially loved their Pai Tee, super crispy and flavorful. The place is also beautifully decorated, making it a great spot to take photos. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a cozy place with delicious food and aesthetic vibes! Beautifully restored building with 2 restaurants within, food was excellent and service was fantastic. Welcomed warmly by Alex, and we had a wonderful time. Be sure to take pictures as well.

Beautiful place and good food. I fall in love with the deco and the ambiance. It feels like this place bring back so much nostalgia. The food they serve here are Peranakan and Indonesian food. Btw they also let you rent the Kebaya Nyonya and Cheongsam for mobile photography around the cafe. This cafe located near Bukit Bintang since they have another branch near Shangri-La hotel KL.

This restaurant is also known as Tong Shin Terrace. The cuisine served here is Peranakan and Javanese food. The food prices are reasonable and the dishes are quite well prepared. You also get to dine in this building built in 1937 and the owner has tried to conserve most of it's original fittings. The premises has been cleaned but the paintwork and flooring is still in its original state. The floor area is huge and they have the upstairs available for rent to host events and functions. The manager is friendly and hospitable. They have a few dishes which are popular here like the Nyonya Laksa, Gado Gado, Kueh Pie Tee and few others. The desserts are quite good. The Sago Gula Melaka is rich and creamy. The Chendol is the original without adding red beans. There are a few private dining spaces and also a corner selling Peranakan wear.

I organized an Eat & Sketch gathering here, and it was our first visit. The place is beautiful with plenty of Instagrammable corners, and the staff are really friendly. It’s the perfect spot to chill and enjoy some me-time. The owner, Alan, even gave us a little tour, which made the experience extra special. Definitely recommended if you’re looking for a heritage vibe, good food, and a great place to spend quality time.

Every dish was really delicious. I recommend ordering a variety of dishes to share so everyone can enjoy many different flavors. The restaurant’s décor is very traditional and charming, and the atmosphere is excellent. The only downside today was the service, which I found very disappointing. When we first arrived, I noticed they had placed an extremely old green chair that felt very unstable when moved. I asked if it could be replaced, since it was the only chair different from the others — the rest were wooden, but this one was an old iron chair that looked like it was about to break. The waitress (dressed in black, with two braids) responded impatiently, saying it couldn’t be changed and that the chair was sturdy. I asked why it couldn’t be changed since there were plenty of empty seats available. She finally, very reluctantly, replaced the chair. Later, when we were ordering, she continued to act impatient, and when we asked questions about the dishes, she didn’t seem willing to answer. I really feel the staff training needs improvement.

I would just say the food is so-so. And service is average, we ordered nasi lemak petai prawn (they add in capsicum 🫑, I was like huh?), bakso special (a bit salty, I asked for mihun but came with noodle) & nyonya laksa not as supreme as it advertised (came with mihun but did not tidy up the bowl before serving & fishball not sure if original has this). For dessert we tried their cendol, well the taste is just ok but they served it with take away spoon. I'm thinking of is this their specialty or they run out of proper spoon. They also don't provide tissues until we asked. Overall is just so-so, food taste average no consistency I would not be the repeating client. This place is suitable for tourist for my opinion. Again never try never know once you try there you go! 😜

A steaming bowl of laksa instantly awakens the senses with its rich aroma of coconut milk, lemongrass, and spices. The addition of fresh seafood — prawns, squid, fishballs, egg elevates the dish beautifully. Overall, it’s a hearty, soul-warming bowl — a seafood twist on the classic laksa that makes it both indulgent and refreshing.

Had the absolute pleasure of dining at Limapulo Terrace in Kuala Lumpur, and wow… this place is a hidden gem! 💛 The moment you step in, you’re welcomed by warm heritage vibes and the smell of authentic Peranakan cooking. Their signature Nyonya Laksa is a must-try – creamy, flavorful, and packed with just the right spice kick! 🌶️🍜 Paired it with their homemade iced tea, and it was heaven in a cup ☕✨ The staff here are incredibly friendly and make you feel like family. The interior is cozy yet stylish – perfect for both a relaxed lunch or an aesthetic dinner date. If you’re visiting KL and want to taste authentic Malaysian flavors with a modern twist, this is the spot! 💯
