Lindenwood Diner

Came here for brunch and baby this neighborhood spot understood the assignment. I ordered the catfish with grits and let me tell you… the grits were so good I almost forgot about the catfish. And I love that they let you choose between cheddar or American cheese because not everybody wants cheddar on their grits. Team American over here and it was perfect. My bf got the chicken and waffles and was quiet the whole time, which tells you everything you need to know. His drink? Strong. Not cute strong. Strong strong. The kind where you sip it and blink twice. Good food, good portions, and drinks that will humble you. Definitely coming back for the crab legs.

Took the family here for brunch as school was closed for the holiday. We waited a short time to be seated. The staff was warm and greeted us well. It's a great place for a quick bite and large menu options and culinary styles (Caribbean, American, Latin dishes etc.). Meals are reasonably priced and affordable even for the current economy.

Sending a huge thank you to Franklin and the entire staff at the Lindenwood Diner today. Twenty six of us descended upon the diner to celebrate our Aunt Rose’s 98th birthday and everything was perfect, thanks to Franklin and his team. The food was delicious, the service was perfect, and a wonderful time was had by everyone. We truly appreciate the care and attention that made such a special celebration so memorable. It’s no wonder that this is Aunt Rose’s favorite place to eat.

Lindenwood is my favorite local dinner spot because of its warm atmosphere and friendly service. I have been going there for years, and the food and the service are excellent. Lindenwood and Via Brasil are my favorites, so if I bring a date to one of those restaurants, he might be a keeper! I enjoy the Latino steak for breakfast. For lunch, I enjoyed the Argentine steak, Latin grill, Pealla, and crab legs with a Margarita on the rocks. My son ordered the Sofrito chicken, barbecue ribs, and lamb dishes. They never enforce the 2-hr time limit, so I am able to study and get some work done on my laptop.

I usually wouldn’t write a bad review at a place I often love, but it must be known that I ordered online and received the lobster tails with the middle cut out. I’m assuming they use the extra for a lobster mac & cheese for someone else because when I had it in the diner, it was perfect and wonderful. I provided comparison photos. Just strange.

The Lindenwood Diner is an old school staple. I haven't been in a while, but the service, food and quality remains the same. You are greeted with a smile. Servers are friendly and helpful. Caren was great. The food is phenomenal. The menu is extensive so you may need time to figure out what you want to eat. From Mofongo and shrimp to pancakes and eggs, you will be fed and full. Drinks are plentiful as well. We got 2 boozy milkshake, my mate got 2 peach frozen margaritas. See photos for food. We went at noon and literally got breakfast, lunch and dinner. The bill for 3 adults was a little over $150. Great price for real food.

Absolutely one of the best burgers I've ever had. This is a staple of southeast Brooklyn and yet I haven't been here in decades. A dozen of my fraternity brothers and I got together for an impromptu reunion and we enjoyed every second there. Let me say this first: the servers and customer service are the BEST. I honestly wish every place had service like this. They deserve raises — you can tell they’re genuinely happy to be at work, and that kind of positive energy makes a huge difference. The diner is clean, beautifully decorated, and even the bathroom is nice with great music playing in it. Now for the food experience… unfortunately, it wasn’t great. I ordered the Latino Grill for Two and asked for no tomatoes because my sister is allergic. It still came with tomatoes. I requested my skirt steak medium rare, and it came well done. On top of that, the food and veggies were cold. We ate a little and took the rest home to warm up ourselves. The manager came over to ask how everything was, and I was honest about being unhappy with the food being wrong and cold. I suggested that if they’re going to serve this dish, it needs to come out on a sizzling hot plate. He suggested putting a top on it, but that won’t help — a lid won’t fix cold food. The flavor was good, but I don’t recommend this dish unless it’s served on a hot plate. It’s a waste of money to order food in a restaurant only to have to take it home to heat it up. I go out to eat in the restaurant, not to warm up my food later. You received 3 stars because of your servers customer service and a clean environment. Note to manager when you do make the changes let me know.

This honestly has to be one of the most consistent spots around. I have literally been here over 100 times and I've never had a bad experience with the food or service! I love the fact that a lot of the staff are the same from when I first started going in 2011. That tells me that they likely take care of their people. The service is always friendly, quick, and efficient and the manager Frankie is such a sweetheart. They've def upgraded the decor in here with some nice graffiti style paintings, true to Brooklyn/NY. There is plenty of space and they even have outdoor for when it's nice out. If you've never been here you are missing out (especially on the Cajun crab legs!). If you HAVE been here then you know and will attest that nothing about their food is diner quality! It's wayyy above it! Also, the portion sizes and price point are great! You def will not leave hungry. This review covers my 4 visits in the last month. Drinks: my go to is always the frozen mango coconut margarita. It never disappoints. I've also had the sangrita, blue passion, and palmarita recently, they were good but the mango coconut marg still my fave. Prices average $16-18. Food: I've literally never had a bad dish here except for the jerk wings. The baked clams have to be the best in BK! They are to die for! Every. Single. Time! The Cajun crab legs are also amazing! You can get it as an app for $16 per cluster or they have it has meal and seafood boil options. The buffalo wings, Seafood scampi, seafood fra diavolo, chicharrones with rice and beans (daily special menu), spaghetti and meatballs (daily special menu), baby back ribs are all honorable mentions. I'm pretty sure the chef put his/her foot in those beans! Why did I order 2 extras!

The Carrot Cake Ruined It. I was this close to giving Lindenwood Diner a full five stars. Like hand hovering over the screen close. And then... the carrot cake happened. Let me start with the good because there is a LOT of good here. I went twice in the past two weeks because I try my best not to judge a place off one visit. Consistency matters. And baby, Lindenwood Diner is consistent. The Seafood Scampi is a must. Fresh clams, muscles, a good portion of crab with claws included. It's that girl period! The char grilled burgers awesome as well. Juicy, seasoned, cooked how you ask. The salad with the homemade French dressing is elite. I need that recipe. The coffee is endless, as diner coffee should be. The fried shrimp and the fish and grits were okay, not life changing but quality and solid. Everything is made to order and came out fresh. I also like that the menu is very diverse and inclusive. Customer service also deserves a shout. We had a small hiccup and the manager fixed it immediately. No attitude. No excuses. Just solutions. Love that. Now... the cake. I was literally walking out, minding my business, when I saw another patron eating the carrot cake. It looked GOOD good. So I doubled back like, let me grab a slice. Big mistake. The cake tasted like a boxed spice cake pretending to be carrot cake. The frosting did not taste like cream cheese frosting. And the shredded carrots on the outside felt like a costume, not an ingredient as the cake itself was plain. It was simply not the carrot cake I was hoping for and for 9 bux, I was a bit let down. If you have a sweet tooth, do yourself a favor and order the pineapple coconut cake or the strawberry cheesecake and leave the carrot cake exactly where it is. That said, parking is free, portions are big, service is great, and everything else absolutely hits. So yes, four stars. Because if that carrot cake had minded its business, this would have been a clean five.

Great service with even greater food. Had a lovely time with my fam for breakfast. We were greeted upon arrival with smiles. Then seated. Scrolled the menu and they had so many options to choose from. Waitress was so kind and patient. She asked all the right questions and also gave all the right answers and information. The place was spacious and clean. I appreciate a nice establishment. Will be back and would love service from the same wait staff. Thanks

A Brooklyn staple in the crest of ENY, they make you feel like family as soon as you step in the door. Hostess and servers are cheery, funny and incredibly sweet. There was a bit of a wait to order since I went with a big party and it was the holiday season. But it didn't even feel like an issue because I was having such a good time with my family. Y'all know how much I love my seafood AND they do claim to have the best crab legs in BK CAN CONFIRM! I also shared some of the seafood fettuccini with my mom and that too was really good! A beautiful medley of the sea, with scallops, clams, mussels, baby shrimp and crab legs. If you've never been here, rectify that soon!

I've only been here twice, but it's a pretty solid diner to go to. The food is decent, and it's a really nice atmosphere for meals with family. We got here around 11am on a Saturday and it was pretty empty, but by the time we left, there was a long line.

Having a pre Christmas brunch the most delicious well seasoned food served hot from the bread basket to special drink menu appetizers to entrees everything was making it a special occasion.The service from the time you step into the restaurant,service with a smile.. the ambiance was very much putting you in the holidays spirits very well decorated and beautiful sounds of holiday cheer the place looked beautiful lights and ornaments

As always service was great. They do a good job making you feel at home. Today I tried the ackee and salt fish. It was really really good. It came with yucca fries and garlic oil. I also had a side of salmon hash. That was also good.

Great place for the family to enjoy. The breakfast was wonderful. We were immediately seated, did not have to wait long for our food and beverage. The price was reasonable.

Everything was good. The Alaskan crab was so good we had to have another serving. The Caribbean smoothie was delightful. My wife said the plantains in the beef stew were really good and better than any of the other places we've been to. But it could use a bit more of that crispy outer layer that she loves.

You know as soon as you walk in and get a 'good morning!' It's just better here. The food is delicious. The service is professional. The servers act as if you are family. The place is beautiful. It's just BETTER here. I don't know how, or why. Just is.

The interior was colorful and cool. I came here with a large group and we were seated in the spacious back area with booth seating. Upon getting settled, we were served complimentary cornbread, rolls, as well as focaccia. The cornbread was oh so soft and buttery. I knew I wanted to stick with seafood here, so I ordered the Alaskan Snow Crab Leg cluster and Shrimp Mac and Cheese. For the Crab Leg, I selected the scampi garlic butter which was delicious, but quite messy. This came with a bib and cracker for the shell. The crab meat was fresh, tender, while the scampi garlic butter was delightfully well seasoned with actual bits of garlic. The Shrimp Mac and Cheese was wonderfully rich, creamy with plenty of satisfying melty cheese and a ton of juicy, succulent shrimp throughout. Service was pretty good and efficient, especially considering the large size of the group. Prices were reasonable as well. I'm not sure I will be back as it is a bit out of the way from me.

It's been awhile since I've dined at Lindenwood Diner & Restaurant. The food has always been delicious and it's good to see that it hasn't changed a bit. Paula was our server and she was extremely attentive and provided excellent service to our party of 7. The restaurant looks great and music was good as well. We enjoyed our time and food at Lindenwood Diner & Restaurant.

Lindenwood Diner & Restaurant don't ever disappoint. Delicious fresh food. Think of this diner as a international diner of food options and choices. Service is always excellent and right on point. Bartender makes delicious drinks. My piña colada was on the money honeyyyy. It's always clean. Booth seating, bar seating and seating outsdie The bread basket is good.

I visited Lindenwood with two of my sorority sisters rather spontaneously. One of them craved crabs and I'll never pass the opportunity to have food/seafood. There's parking at the spot but it was kinda full. We were seated without reservations and sat down pretty quick upon walking in. The owner of the bar greeted us warmly. The waitress was nice. The diner's decor and aesthetic was definitely diner vibes for sure. Super casual. The food came out pretty quick as well which was a plus. The drinks were strong!! The food tasted okay in the moment. Sauce had a lot of liquid which I didn't like. I feel like the dish overall could've had a little more seasoning. But when I got home I had the runs! My stomach was doing flips and turns and honestly just felt terrible. I may have developed the stomach bug. I guess that's my fault for going to a diner for seafood in the first place! So idk if I'll be back tbh. Go at your own risk!

Went there today for breakfast with my Sigma brother. I had a Caribbean Omelet with bacon , Plantains and toast. The food was great. Our server Michelle was extremely courteous! Highly recommend this place. It is by far THE BEST! KUDOS MICHELLE!

Baked clams and crab cakes here are delicious. We've had the crab legs which are great too. The menu is pretty diverse if you're not looking for seafood specifically, either. Overall this place feels like an establishment, bustling at all hours. We tend to go after beach days at Rockaway beach. Service is usually pretty consistently solid. Great for big groups.

We decided to try this diner based on great reviews, and it did not disappoint! We arrived around 9 AM to a busy spot and were immediately greeted by the hostess. The display of fresh desserts was a nice touch, and we were seated within seconds . Our waitress was friendly and efficient. She was very patient with us and gave us time without us feeling rushed .I decided on ordering a virgin piña colada, while my husband got a fresh guava passion fruit juice. For an appetizer, we ordered the mini buffalo chicken empanadas--fresh, hot, and well-seasoned. The menu is full of so many options but we were in a breakfast mood . So we decided on chicken and waffles , and shrimp and grits with eggs . 1. Chicken & Waffles - You can choose fried chicken, wings, or tenders (I chose tenders) and opted in to add fresh strawberries on top of my waffles. But you can also get bananas if you like. 2. Shrimp & Grits with Eggs - This comes with Five jumbo shrimp (pictured is Cajun-seasoned) with two (over easy) eggs. You can get the eggs and shrimp to your preferences. Service was quick, and the atmosphere was lively, with TVs, great music, and a clean, modern-yet-timeless diner feel. Overall, a wonderful experience. Also, if you are a driver there was a huge parking lot . If you are coming with a big party they do make you sign a sign in sheet but they are very organized and equipped to keep things moving along . My only regret for this place is not get a slice of cake after our meal we were too stuffed . Reasonable pricing for amazing food . We paid $78. 93 and that included : - 1 virgin piña colda - 1 guava passion fruit juice -1 order of mini buffalo chicken empanadas ( you get around 5) -Shrimp and grits with two eggs -Chicken and waffles (two waffles and 5 tenders )

This 1 Star review is totally based on their desert.... We were craving cheesecake and we all know that 99.9 % of the diners always have the best creamy & fresh cakes but not over here ... So disappointed especially at $ 10.00 a slice; omg !! Just this evening 10/8/24 Tuesday at 10:pm the wife ran in to get us two slices of cheese cake... I wanted plain & she wanted Oreo cheesecake very very disappointed... The plain cheesecake tasted like Refrigeration especially the top left a horrible taste in mouth ... ate 1/4 & threw the rest out... Now my wife's Oreo cheesecake was even more disgusting, first of all the cheesecake part in the middle doesn't even taste like real cheesecake and then they got devil's food cake on both sides and then the whip cream on the end was also stale. Just a total epic fail. FYI, we just finished shopping at BJ's wholesale club. Truth be told we would've been better off buying BJ's cheesecake or any other cake for that matter !!! We didn't wanna have a whole cake in the house. We figured we'd run to the diner and get a slice each and be satisfied boy will be wrong !!! Not calling the diner not going back there to return the cheesecake at 20 bucks a slice should've been fresh period !!! . Nobody cares no more what a shame; then again this isn't a Greek owned dinner so we should've knew better. We're in the area since 1989.. Fyi; We Have patronizes diner a long time, but never had dessert their food, especially their breakfast, and their burgers are very good but this dessert the cheesecakes just doesn't fly with us !!! I am so annoyed! The service is horrible! I ordered appetizers and the waitress keep coming to me with someone else's order about 3 times!! Then once I was finished with the appetizer I waited 20min for my food! She forgot about my food and came and asked if I wanted the check! I didn't even eat!! I had the simplest meal!! I was so vixed I didn't even eat! I took my food to go!! I've been coming here sor years and this is the worst!!

Parking lot was packed which in my opinion means the food must be good! Food didn't disappoint! Was delicious. The crab legs in the scampi sauce were amazingly delicious. We orders clams which were delicious as well. My grandson ordered a burger which was huge! Hubby said the chicken parm was ok. Chicken was kinda tough. Service was excellent.

Imma always recommend this place been here sevea times even ordered the crab legs to goooo lol. Love the food and the energy in this place. Came here for a breakfast and was so full when I left I was pleased. Haven't been here in a min but I will be here very very soon.

Lindenwood Diner is a diner with a large menu of mixed dishes , from Jerk chicken , chicken parmagian to latin cuisine. Breakfast is served all day. I've been there before and had the crab legs. This visit I had the home fries , turkey bacon and eggs , breakfast is served a day. My friend had shrimp scampi and grits. It's a pretty good size , good for large groups, nice wall decor. The staff is always friendly. Managers seem to have a good relationship with their regular customers. The parking lot is mostly always full , the food is flat. Linden wood is a step above a greasy spoon. No real magic. Everything tastes the same !

This morning I treated my folks to breakfast. It was after 9:30 and there was no waiting, got seated right away in a Saturday! Dad ordered three sunny side up eggs with French fries and toast while mom ordered same as me a veggie omelette with bacon, home-fries and toast. This was my first time having breakfast and it was good! I particularly liked the home- fries, seasoned and cooked well. Portions are just right. Prices for breakfast are higher than other places specially if you add ons. The only negative I have is that no one is attentive to refilling up empty cups. You must wave someone over for refills. Definitely will be back for lunch/dinner!!

Lindenwood Diner has been at the top of my diner charts for over two decades. It's so well kept and maintained and the staff is wonderfully welcoming, from the front door hostess to the servers. I played hooky from walking the track today, after waking up to fog and mist and instead made my way to Lindenwood. I ordered a mimosa and I was presented with the cutest setup, a mini bottle of Cook's Champagne and extra juice on the side. My breakfast of lump crab Maryland crabcakes with all the trimmings was just divine. Food was good, the r&b tunes were great and I left feeling so satisfied. Lindenwood's menu is HUGE and that's a beautiful thing. So many dishes to pick from. Try them all!

Stopping in for my usual Nicely crispy waffle, chicken sausage and 2 scrambled eggs ..won't do the eggs again - despite that the coffee and the awesome service. I was super happy nothing new ! Thanks .

You won't regret coming to Linden Diner! Short and to the point - anything you want they have it. The service is amazing, the food top notch. Go in the evenings, avoid Sunday afternoons- it's packed. Enjoy!

Lindenwood is a great diner. For my first time experience I'd say I'm highly impressed. The food was delicious. The service was great and attentive, and the ambiance is cute. Your local cute restaurant. It's a diner so again so don't expect to be WOWED from every menu item. Definitely get a drink and try out their turkey deluxe burger! The crab cake was REAL crab meat and I was highly impressed. Definitely very flavorful. I'll definitely be back to try out more menu items.

This new and improved Diner really surprised me. Haven't been there for 20 years. Located on linden BLVD, near the south conduit. Inside they've renovated , and the atmosphere is nice. Nice music playing, a nice vibe. Food and service are good. And the prices are reasonable. Definitely worth another visit .

Breakfast is really good. Reasonable pricing. Family family. Friendly staff. I have never had a bad experience and would give almost anything a try.

For the past years, I've only had breakfast at the Lindenwood diner, the Belgium waffles Canadian, bacon and eggs are amazing. The service is excellent and the ambience is great. and the prices are reasonable. They also have a large menu selection Check it out, I recommend.

Hubby and I came here to have dinner with our friends. I wanted to try the baked clams because I had heard about them. The four of us had a booth table. We ordered baked clams and calamari for appetizers to share. Then hubby ordered a burger with avocado and Cajun catfish for me. I hadn't had catfish for a long time, so I wanted to try it. It was delicious. I think the taste came mostly from cajun. Our friends order the bluefish dish. I tried it, but I guess catfish beat it. The waitress, Lindsey, was an excellent server. She was attentive and listened well. From the outside, the restaurant looks like it needs to be promoted, but once inside, it serves some great meals!

Diner has managed to be in business for over 60 years, and I know why: extremely friendly, helpful servers, delicious food and a very nice vibe. Old style booths to relax in, beautiful murals to enjoy during your very short wait for your order. Throw in the best cup of coffee I have had in a diner, and you have it: a real winner.

Crab legs were as good as had heard, but they were a bit salty. My friend had one of their burgers and slid off of the bun and broken half which was very odd. The white Sangria was decent. Service was good and it wasn't too crowded.

The frozen drinks are disgusting!! and the manager did not wanna take our drinks back! made us pay for them! they don't know customer service and I won't ever be back there ever again

This place has been around forever. It is a diner and feels like a diner very old school. Future customers and fellow dinerettes when I say all the food is delicious, I mean it and Im a foody. I haven't had anything that I dont like. Drinks are strong and tasty only need one. Staff is friendly, smiling and accommodating. Deserts are bomb a**. If you're a seafood lover, this is the place to get your crab legs and shrimp. Music is always appropriate. Definetly a great choice of diners (only one on this side of Brooklyn) and a must visit. Sunday sis a great time to go as they play gospel music but the wait is longer but not to bad. Lso parking g kinda stinks but you will get a space eventually. Go eat and enjoy.
