Lindy’s Diner has a cool, classic vibe with a welcoming atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive, which made for a pleasant experience. My breakfast was decent overall, but part of it was lukewarm, which was a bit disappointing. Still, the service and ambiance made up for it. Would give it another shot and hope for a hotter plate next time!

Wasn’t very busy but took a while for food to cook. Don’t bother specifying steak or egg preference—we asked for over-medium eggs and medium rare steak but got over-easy eggs and well-done steak. The hotcakes were fire. Best pancakes I’ve had in a long time. Kind server and good strong coffee.

We grew up eating Lindy's chili in Illinois. This was not the same. The Nachos were served with a sauce that pretty much blew my head off. So super spicy! Very few dishes were served with chile (their spelling of the dish). Unfortunately it was really nothing special. We asked for the Nachos with "nothing spicy," and it was served with that pepper. Nope.

Google
Decent dinner food and great old school dinner atmosphere! The staff were all very friendly and attentive.

Google
Had the beef and cheddar. Really tasty and the fresh cut French fries are a hit. Quac and fresh cooked chips are on point . Chicken fried steak with real mashed potatoes. Great apple and cherry pie. Will definitely be back to try the burgers.

Google
This is a diner. They serve diner food. It is good tasting and a good value. Whoever said the steak and eggs were not cooked to order, not my experience. You should come here and eat their provisions. That’s all I have to say.

Google
We are breakfast about 10am. The food was good. I had corned beef hash & it was tasty! The service was good. We found out that they make & sell fruit pies. We will be checking those out next visit. We love diners & this one has been around since the 1920's on Route 66. Very cool. We'll be back.

Google
Such an authentic diner experience. Great food, had the Chicago Dog and Apple pie with Ice Cream, tasted great. Service was great too. We were riding from Santa Fe to Gallup and were tired, hot and hungry and it was the perfect stop. Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
Ok listen- Lindy's is an old school diner. It's awesome. American food, Greek food, breakfast options, lunch options. All the options. It's the bomb. Queso. Get the queso. Also, the Greek salad. It's a family business and they all work hard to provide awesome service. I almost was thinking the sever lady was a mind reader! It's a diner in downtown Abq. I loved the vibe~ Parking is a mess, as is all downtown. But the food is fab!

Yelp
Love this place on historic Route 66 downtown Albuquerque . The owners are always here and really nice and make a great avocado toast also omelette with best hash browns in the 505 .

Yelp
During Comic Con we needed a brain & food break to get through it, we decided to take a walk downtown and try something new- that's when we found Lindy's! Lindy's is a cute diner where you seat yourself (I love getting to pick where I sit)- and has a pretty good dinner menu. They have breakfast all day and a juicy lucy (burger stuffed with cheese) which is super hard to find on a menu these days. Our waitress was faboulous, super attentive and kind. We split the juicy lucy and a chicken sandwich both were pretty bomb. I am not a big pickle lover, sometimes I can go for some fried pickles but these were a bit too thick for me, but perfect for a pickle lover. We will defenitly be back to try something else!

Yelp
I guess you can't believe everything you see on TV. Somehow, Lindys Diner was mentioned on national television recently as being one of the best, if not THE best diners in the country. So while we were in the downtown area, we decided to stop in. It was a Saturday early afternoon. There was no line, but most of the tables were occupied. After a few minutes of sitting, our server finally came to our table. We asked for water, he told us there had no straws. No big deal. Then it was several minutes more before another server came by and asked if we had ordered. We answered, "No" and placed our order. Pretty simple - a Gyro plate (which was the "Special") and a Chicago Dog. After waiting for nearly a half an hour, the Gyro plate came out. It was another 15 mins before the Chicago Dog came out. The Gyro was overcooked with burnt edges and was dry. The tzatziki sauce was almost flavorless. The Chicago Dog came out placed on a broken, soggy, bun with some garnish thrown on top. (See picture). Both plates came with soggy, limp fries. The total time it took from when we sat down, until we were FINALLY able to leave, was just over an hour - for a gyro and a hot dog. The servers were nice enough and the food isn't their fault, but even the nice service couldn't save the otherwise off-putting experience.

Yelp
The service was beyond friendly. This place is super cute. We had no problem finding street parking. I had a yogurt parfait that was incredible: delicious yogurt and wild blueberries. A casual diner with eclectic decor. Good coffee.

Kendra K.

Yelp
The food is always so good and the prices! Service is quick. The vibe is so cute. And they serve free cheese with the fries

Yelp
Great value for food, big portions but quality is still great. It is the longest standing restaurant in Albuquerque and also 66 route. The burgers were really juicy and flavorful. We always get fast and incredible service. The location is really cute and it gives a vintage diners vibe.

Yelp
Join Tom Neiman and some of the guys from the VA Creative Writing Group as they visit Lindy's Diner, right in the heart of "new town" Albuquerque along old Route 66. It offers great food, excellent service, and an interesting setting with lots of history. It opened first in 1929 as the Coney Island Cafe, featuring hot dogs (what else?). The menu expanded in the 1960s when the ownership changed. Owners Steve and Dawn Vatoseow have this New Mexico favorite up for sale. Yelp
Breakfast is the BEST!! Nowhere else in Albuquerque do they always brown the hash browns. The potatoes are crisp! Delicious! My husband gets The Hungry Man which comes with bacon and sausage. I go for the breakfast burrito red and green and it comes with a blistered jalapeño-hot and tasty. The service is impeccable-the waitress is efficient and pleasant. This downtown business deserves some recognition for providing a great spot for a bite and they've hung in there for years. No wonder they know how to do things right.

Yelp
The food was ok. Connor was my server and the only person to speak to me actually and he was very nice and polite. I got nasty stares from some lady that work there. The place was relatively quiet and clean. I came for breakfast.

Yelp
I was walking downtown with friends and we decided to stop by this place. This place is a cute diner and very old school. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The food was okay, nothing too special, great place to eat if you are in the area.

Yelp
I moved to Albuquerque in September of 2021 and continue to enjoy exploring the outstanding variety of restaurants. I am a soft touch when it comes to diners; I like the relaxed environment and comfort foods. I had beyond burger with fries. Burger good, fries outstanding. Nice service, very friendly waiter. He was attentive without hovering. I for one (and I know there are others) would like to see downtown Albuquerque flourish. As the saying goes "vote with your feet." Sum: unpretentious diner style restaurant with good prices.

Tore A.

Yelp
Horrendous! I ordered two lunch entrées for myself alone. Did chicken sandwich and french fries ( fries were cold batter for the chicken tasted like flour.) the Mexican sampler plate with one tamale, one taco, one enchilada. Nothing had flavor, including the beans! I voiced my concerns to the waitress and she said have a good day never again.

Lily G.

Yelp
My garlic Parmesan boneless wings were very undercooked and food took a long time to come out for our group. Would go across the street to the food market if I were you.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast food in a diner with awesome vintage vibes, service was efficient and friendly. 10/10

Yelp
This is clearly a neighborhood staple. The staff seem to know a lot of the people and there was a lot of chatting while we were there. I got mashed potatoes and sausage (my daughter's order) and while she did not eat them, I tried them and I thought they were pretty good. The sausage did seem like it was heated up in a fryer perhaps so I'm sure it isn't the healthiest option but it's a good comfort food place.

Yelp
I've been going here on and off since the 1990s used to go here with my dad and then just tell her downtown it said to hear that you that this place will no longer be at some point. we still should go by. We should still get some food because it's a great place. Great people great location please stop by have a meal.

Yelp
I hate leaving poor reviews but I would hate anyone wasting their time going to this restaurant. The restaurant was dirty and the bathrooms reminded me of something you would find at an old, rundown gas station where you have to take a key and go outside and just hope for the best. I got a salad. If iceberg lettuce is your thing you may like this salad. The thousand island came with a thin film over the top like it was left out for awhile. The chicken on my salad was actually quite tasty which is why I gave 2 stars.

Carrie C.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast and great service! There was something for everyone in my family of picky eaters. We would definitely go back!

Yelp
I had the chicken fried steak and eggs with hash browns and it was fantastic. I eat a 100 plus CFSs per year and this place has the best I have found in Albuquerque.

Yelp
If you're going to be downtown and walk in the footsteps of movie stars, you should come to Lindy's right on the corner of Central Avenue and 5th Street. An Albuquerque icon since 1929 and right across from the historic KiMo Theater, Lindy's has a reputation for being a great family diner. The menu is diverse and most people will agree that it's food is above average, although the building is very old and shows its years. The Green Chile cheeseburger is "Christmas" style with tasty red Chile, too. My only complaint is the Kraft style American cheese slice on the burger is just blah. But it's only around $9. The Albuturkey sandwich is quite good and I would order it again. They have a Happy Hour all-day featuring $4 draft beers, Mimosas and bottles of Tecate beer around $3 each.

Yelp
Love this place, go here frequently when downtown. Nothing bad on the menu. Been visiting for literally years and hope they never go out of business.

Dave D.

Yelp
Prices reasonable. Service quick and pleasant. Plenty of food. Took home part of the pile up breakfast. Chili was tasty I prefer a spicier one but this had good flavor. Still prefer a place that has a breakfast special that includes coffee. Mainly cuz I don't like paying 3 dollars for a drink. Remember you have to pay 25 cents for 15minutes of parking use to be weekends were free but now it's only Sundays. As Arnold said. I will be back
google avatar

Art T.

Yelp
It's been years since I've eaten here, so today I thought it was about time. It has a whole vintage diner vibe. Free Wi-Fi. The only problem here is the food. I got a roast beef with American cheese. Dreadful. Came with fries that were acceptable. The sandwich came oozing with liquid American cheese poured onto the sandwich. Very messy. I used a fork and knife to eat it. The roast beef was of the cheap lunch meat variety. Just awful. Due to its great location, I might end up eating here again. I can only hope I remember this review.

Yelp
Was walking aimlessly around the city looking for some late night good eats. Lindy's Diner was a great surprise. I had the patty melt and fries....perfect. My brother had the huevos rancheros x-mas style (green/red sauce). Honestly, this place was awesome. Come support your local business. They're open til 1 AM.

Mary L.

Yelp
I don't get "downtown" very often, but had an ABQ gift card that was about to expire, so a friend and I decided to have lunch there. What a hidden gem! Lindy's definitely has the old-school diner feel. You know the kind, you're there for some great food and not so much the bells and whistles of new chain restaurants. It was difficult to decide what to order, they serve breakfast all day which is always a plus in my book. I decided on the Lindy Club, with french fries. The sandwich was perfect, stacked high between the buns. I only ate half and brought the rest home for later The french fries are the kind with the skins, which I really prefer. Topped it off with a brownie, that could have easily satisfied two people. To sum it up; the diner may not be for you if you're looking for the feel of a shiny new building. If you're looking for some really good food, and lots of it, for a reasonable price, you'll want to give them a try. I'll go back!

Found this classic diner on the corner workin downtown. Breakfast and lunch are both freshly prepared and delicious. Great Chili! Great vibe. And they have beer on tap! Highly recommend

Yelp
Everything you come to expect of a true diner that feels like it has been here for ages. Because it has been here, through thick and thin. There have clearly been some revamps here and there, but you feel as if you have stepped back in time several decades. I remember my childhood in the 70s walking to town with mom or nana. The special treat was stopping at the lunch counters of Woolworth's or McClellan's. Lindy's happily brings me back in some ways to that nostalgia. A very chilled, laid back place to sit and let the world slowly pass by. Especially when seated at a window looking out at the unparalleled Kimo theater across the street. And the food is very good. I had the special steak sandwich, cooked medium, with the requisite green chile that had a nice kick. Toasted buns had just the right amount of butter and the sandwich was placed upon a bed of thick steakfries doused in parmesan cheese. Topping it all off was a grilled chile pepper. All very satisfying. all very good. I am ready to eat again. And the service is efficient, polite, and deserving, so please tip well! I am going to LOVE working downtown and re-exploring my past, and future, mostly through a happy stomach!

Yelp
Good food, great service, HUGE portions for the price. Would definitely come back again.

Yelp
Went into Lindy's Diner for breakfast. The food was excellent, we loved the atmosphere. They were short staffed but did a wonderful job serving us! Highly recommend this diner we will definitely go back!

Yelp
We loved Lindy's! I grew up in Albuquerque and didn't know it existed! Great food and service! Definitely going back for more!

Yelp
Funky old diner right downtown ABQ. Full and bustling with local diners. Great food and menu selection with low prices Eclectic interior with strange colors maybe reflecting the local styles. The main wall facing the counter is purple fading into blue with a bright green in the back wall around the cooks serving window. There is a "plastic" red gas pump with a Coca Cola sign on top instead of an old Texaco sign. Even the outside of The building are painted weird colors including purple and aqua green. I could see where Parking might be somewhat of a problem during the working week. Never mine the weird colors, it's authentic with great food, don't miss it if you are visiting ABQ.
google avatar

Yelp
Super bummed haven't been here in many, many years. Great memories of the place. Ordered steak and eggs. Steak was overcooked, and so tough I just gave up. Hash browns inedible eggs and toast were great!!!! Service was great!!!! Hopefully it was just a bad day in the kitchen. Such a fun location

Nick C.

Yelp
Wonderful little spot. I live a block away from it. Anytime family comes into town i taken them there for breakfast. Food is always good and service is always prompt.
google avatar

Joseph H.

Yelp
Came for a late night breakfast. First I had a cowboy breakfast. Everything was amazing. Chicken fried steak with red chile and beans. All the flavors were good and the red chile topped it off. To top it off, I had pancakes. They were the best pancakes I've ever had in my whole life. It's like your favorite cake and your favorite pancakes mixed in one. Come eat here as soon as you can.
google avatar

Kat P.

Yelp
Fabulous! The food was excellent and service great. Steven is friendly and outgoing, a very fun guy. Our orders were made to order to perfection. The Gyro was heavenly, guac burger was juicy and had a little kick to it and the mushroom Swiss was succulent. The Greek salads were out of this world...literally, frequently the TV show Roswell is filmed there. We will be back. Kat, Deb and Veronica.

Yelp
I have been to Lindy's many times and just realized I haven't written a review. Went there for lunch today and had the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and veggies. I love mashed potatoes, they are my absolute most favorite food in the world. And I've had them at Lindy's before, and they are good. But, I was sad to taste them today, and discover they tasted off. New recipe? New chef? I don't know, but it tasted like they had sour cream in them and I don't like that. However, I have ordered other things in the past - Burgers, club sandwich, and breakfast (I love breakfast all times of the day) and it's all been good. Service is friendly and quick, food is good, and I'm able to get back to work within my allotted hour. Great place for a quick lunch and I know the new tv show - Roswell - was filmed there, so they have viewing parties. On top of that, on Thanksgiving they provide free meals to anyone who needs one. I will go to Lindy's again, I'll just probably get something other than the mashed potatoes.

Yelp
This was a great place if you want an inexpensive meal for a great price. We came for breakfast i had the steak and eggs With toast and hashbrowns. It was perfect and the price was right. I also came for dinner during my stay. I had the combo plate of a tamale, chicken enchilada, and taco. It came with rice and pinto beans. Both meals just hit the spot on flavor, price, and quality. Steve the owner could not have been more welcoming. The draft selection was fantastic. Not only is the place a piece of history you are eating in but you are treated like family with warm smiles and good home cooked meal. A huge variety of food to select from and great hours. If you are in Albuquerque you need to stop by. It worth the visit just for the hospitality.

Yelp
Great service and delicious food. I had the Spaticus Burger. The burger was an American-Greek bend. I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Although it's very close to my crib, today was the day to check it out... It's cold and rainy outside so what else should I do? The inside is way bigger than it looks on the out...id call it ole skool ... The coffee sucks ... The chicken quesadilla was huge! It was good and I'll eat it over the next few Days ... Service was sketchy. Wish they had better coffee. Huge menu ... Something for all

Yelp
Fantastic food and the best service hands down they made us feel welcome and gave our dog kiddos their own water bowls and chicken on the house. Great breakfast burrito great nachos such a nice vibe here.

Alexandra P.

Yelp
First time here and I am completely impressed. Extensive menu, great prices and a homey feel to the place makes me want to come back over and over again!

Clara S.

Yelp
Had the Cobb salad, it was sooo good, everything was fresh and crisp! The Bleu cheese dressing is perfect!

Logan A.

Yelp
I was really excited to eat here based off reviews, but my opinion has completely changed. 1. Don't advertise a burger and a beer for $7.99 when it only applies to one burger and a Coors. 2. The waitress lied to us, told us any beer and burger, so we did that, and ended up spending $40 because the beers were actually $5 each and the burgers were full price at 9.99. 3. I asked for a medium burger, received more than well done. The "bacon" was gyro meat, not bacon: say that in your menu description. Why would I want a blue cheese burger with gyro meat??? 4. The waitress couldn't remember what we wanted three separate times, didn't know any information about beers or food at all. She brought our check before we even got our food!!! We originally wanted more beer and a piece of pie, but I guess you wanted to finish service way before it was time. It was annoying, and I never leave bad reviews. We were the ONLY customers besides two people sitting at the bar drinking. I'm really disappointed that I wasted close to $50.
google avatar

Lisa S.

Yelp
We were so disappointed--the place was truly dirty and rundown. There was a feel of not caring. The service was adequate, the food was o.k. It was just the dirt and the ambiance that was so unpleasant. We were there for breakfast--so maybe that's not their thing? Not sure--but I am pretty certain we are not going to return. I am giving it two stars for the location and the history---I wish for them that they clean and redesign the place a little so that it resumes its former glory.
google avatar

Mellow C.

Yelp
I was a bit skeptical when I read the reviews. But, I had a great experience. Friendly and quick service. Fresh and tasty breakfast. So cool to know its been around since 1929. Just goes to show you that you should give restaurants a chance, even if their star rating isn't high. Definitely 4 stars and we plan to return.
