The Best New Brunches in Austin Right Now, November 2024

"This Rosedale Chinese restaurant from chef Ling Qi Wu has been offering weekend dim sum since August. The usual suspects are available — dumplings, buns, rolls, rice, and noodles. Dim sum hours are from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Takeout orders can be placed online; there are indoor dine-in services." - Nadia Chaudhury

The Hottest New Restaurants in Austin, November 2024

"Austin chef Ling Qi Wu opened this Chinese spot in the Rosedale neighborhood. Much like its sibling restaurants — Lin Asian Bar, Qi, Ling Kitchen, and Ling Wu Asian Restaurant in Lantana Place — Ling Wu Asian Restaurant at the Grove serves up Chinese and dim sum dishes, including so many dumplings, rice, noodles, meats, seafood, and vegetables for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. Takeout orders can be placed online; there are indoor and outdoor dine-in services." - Nadia Chaudhury

Austin’s New Restaurant & Bar Openings

"From the team behind Qi, Ling Kitchen, and (surprise) Ling Wu out in Oak Hill, Ling Wu in Rosedale is the latest addition to this group of upscale Chinese restaurants. Parking was super easy, and the interior design of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The open kitchen gives a great impression of cleanliness. From the moment I walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. everyone made me feel welcome. The soup dumplings were absolutely delicious, possibly the best I’ve had in Austin! I also really enjoyed the chicken dishes, and I loved that all the food was perfect for sharing. To top it all off, the chocolate dessert we had at the end was amazing. Huge thanks to the whole team, I’ll definitely be coming back!

Exceptional Dining Experience with Outstanding Service I recently had the pleasure of dining here, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with elegant decor and a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere that made for a perfect evening. The food was nothing short of exceptional—every dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. From appetizers to dessert, each bite showcased the restaurant’s commitment to quality and freshness. What truly made our visit outstanding was the impeccable service, especially from Christine. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm, making us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout our meal. Her recommendations were spot on, and she went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was perfect. If you’re looking for a restaurant that delivers on all fronts—delicious food, a great atmosphere, and top-notch service—look no further than Lin Wu at The Grove. A special thank you to Christine for making our evening so memorable! We will definitely be returning soon.

Google
I don't give a lot of 5 star ratings, but dining at Ling Wu was a beautiful and captivating experience from start to finish. The staff are wonderfully accommodating and unpretentious. They will make you feel right at home, even if you are indecisive or have dietary restrictions. The dishes they create are simply out of this world in flavor and presentation. The space in which it all happens is beautifully decorated, the lighting and music kept at perfect levels. I can't put it much more simply than to say that it made for an incredible date night, and that I feel nothing but gratitude to the fine folks who run the place! Go check it out yourself and be delighted.

We went for dinner to celebrate a birthday. The service was great, attentive and polite. The food was great, what you order matters. We ordered, green onion pancake, dumplings (not the soup one) green tea salad, flounder fish the best we ever had and roasted duck. Everything was absolutely perfect and delicious. The drinks were all good. We had a lovely time and will go back.

I wanted to give this restaurant a higher rating but the quality of food is not worth the spend. We started with the Crispy Chicken Dumplings and they were alright but nothing special and needed different sauces. The lettuce wraps were tasty but only 4 pieces of iceberg lettuce and needed more sauces. Moved on to the soup dumplings and what a complete disappointment, unless you prefer doughy dumplings. It would have been nice to get an assortment of sauces at the beginning of the meal to allow customers to spice dishes how they prefer. We tried the Veggie Fried Rice and I would not call it fried rice, it was rice with raw veggies. Disappointing. The Kung Pao Chicken with Cashews had a gooey sauce and little flavor and more cashews than chicken! Our Rice Noddles with Beef was the best dish. Again where is the sauce??!! And why do we have to ask for it. The wine list was pedestrian. Let’s say I was disappointed with my meal. Yes, the service was very good and the place very nice but the food is why we were there.

One of my favorite new spots! I’ve been twice—once for Chinese New Year and again for my 35th birthday celebration. Each time, the food was AHHmazing (the orange beef and alligator are top-notch)! Beyond the food, the service was exceptional. Elif was so kind and attentive to my little ones on both visits! Oh, and I have to mention the restrooms—they're decked out with smart tech! As a techie, I’m all for it. We’re talking UV-sterilized, heated toilet seats and all the works!

Google
This place is wonderful! The service and food were top notch and the space itself is so well done! I don’t eat gluten and went with two friends who do. We were able to order an assortment and everyone had plenty and got what they wanted. I will dream about the lemon soufflé dessert and the jalapeño crispy shrimp were perfectly seasoned and cooked. At the end of our meal, one of my friends got a gorgeous decaf latte and there are so many details throughout the restaurant to admire. Among my favorite things is that we could actually talk and hear each other. There were other tables, but we weren’t competing with loud music or bad acoustics at lunch and it was lovely to have a great conversation at a reasonable volume. I will be back for sure!

We ate here for the first time & everything was outstanding!! Our server, Christina, was super sweet & attentive. We loved the crab & shrimp dumplings, lobster cheese puffs, orange beef & chicken basil dumplings!! So yummy! The atmosphere is nice too!

Yelp
The Good: :: it's a local business! :: service is very helpful, friendly and attentive :: food is so good here...you won't go wrong with anything you pick. go with a variety of the dim sum options during their dim sum brunch! mix it up between steamed/sauteed greens, fried options, steamed options, soups, dumplings, etc. :: great for small or large groups! they have a fantastic unique private space upstairs for private events if you are needing to accommodate a large group. the walls upstairs are hand-painted of women that are in the owner's personal circle--very unique decor! :: ambiance is great--very nice vibe without being obnoxiously loud or pretentious :: the owner is very passionate about her customers having the best dining experiences regardless of which location they visit of her restaurants. the amount of attention she puts into the ambiance, the offerings, and the locations is just part of what makes her restaurants a success The Bad: :: none The Ugly: :: none Would I go back? Definitely yes! One of my favorite places to get upscale Chinese food in town with a great vibe that is all about the food. This place is IN.

Yelp
We recently dined at Ling Wu Asian Restaurant and had an overall enjoyable experience. The atmosphere was inviting, and the service was excellent--attentive and friendly. For our meal, we ordered the Combination Fried Rice, Kung Pao Chicken, and the Red Snapper. The red snapper was the showstopper--served whole, eyeballs and all! It was fried, which we didn't expect, but the flavor was delicious. My combination fried rice was good, but the chicken and shrimp in it could have used some seasoning--any at all would have helped. The Kung Pao Chicken had good heat from the peppers, but the chicken itself wasn't seasoned to be spicy, which was a bit of a letdown. On the drink side, my husband ordered a smoked Old Fashioned, which fun and fancy. I ordered a lemonade, but it tasted more like Sprite, so I wouldn't recommend it. Overall, the restaurant has a great vibe and fantastic service. The food was enjoyable, though some dishes could use a bit more seasoning. Would return, but with adjusted expectations!

Yelp
Overpriced, flavorless food. Gluten free doesn't mean flavor free. The steamed vegetable dumplings were in a thick unrecognizable unpleasant orange wrapper. The vegetable filling was seasoned and the dipping sauce was the highlight of the entire meal with it's Unami flavor. The Crispy Tofu with seasonal vegetables had absolutely no flavor. The tofu was in 4 large blocks. The outside was somewhat crispy. The inside was far too soft and silky. It wasn't pleasant to eat. There was no sauce offered. The rice, for which there was an additional charge for a small bowl, was dried out flavorless and added nothing to the meal. The decor is confusing. It's like the restaurant doesn't know what it wants to be. Our server was great and very attentive so good marks there. Points off as the prices charged were higher than on the menu. The high point of the visit was the restrooms which have the automated TOTO toilet/bidets. :) All in all, it's a soulless, flavorless experience, in a soulless flavorless artificial neighborhood. Vegetarian options: Flavorless. Dietary restrictions: There are gluten free options. The 2 options I tried were not good. The textures were bad and flavorless. If you offer gluten free, learn how to make it palatable.

Yelp
I'm pretty much obsessed with any restaurant the Ling Qi Wu family puts out. The newest addition to the franchise, Ling Wu (II) is conveniently located near Hyde Park & MoPac in the beautiful Grove development. For those unfamiliar with the Ling Qi Wu family, they're known for blending Western and traditional Chinese cuisine using healthy, high-quality ingredients. While it is on the pricier side compared to most traditional Chinese dim sum restaurants, you're paying for the quality of the ingredients, the beauty of the restaurant, and its spotless cleanliness. Like there other restaurants, the Xiao Long Bao and Shu Mai are my favorites. However, the pricing for Ling Wu's dishes makes me hesitant. For example, I paid $20 for a pot of loose-leaf Jasmine tea (they charge $5 per person), which feels steep when I could easily brew the same thing at home! Since Ling Qi Wu caters more to the American palate (we were literally the only Chinese family there on a Saturday morning), they offer specialty sauces to suit different tastes. If you're used to traditional dim sum, you can ask for soy sauce on the side--but note: it's not the same soy sauce you might be familiar with. Service here is a bit lacking compared to its predecessors.

Yelp
I believe this is the sister restaurant to Lin and Qi. I love the entire chain but I think Ling Wu is my favorite given the smaller but more selected menu. Unlike Lin, Ling Wu didn't offer a long list of dimsum but rather a select few items that's excellent such as the shrimp dumplings and pork soup dumplings. the best item ordered was the fried rice. It was piping hot, savory, and just all around tasty. Will be back again just for that!

Yelp
I ate here for the first time to celebrate a friend's birthday last night. Overall, we had a great time, and there were definitely many highlights, but also a couple of concerns worth mentioning. Highlights: The atmosphere was lovely and cozy. The food was delicious and made with fresh ingredients. My veggies had like 3 diff colors of cauliflower, and several types of mushrooms. Overall, our server was kind and attentive. I ordered a cocktail with a flower blossom that numbs your mouth, and the server came back to check on me and asked what I thought about it--which I appreciated! For the birthday girl, the staff surprised her with the most adorable bunny-shaped dessert complete with a sparkler, which was such a sweet and thoughtful touch. The drinks were great! Concerns Unfortunately, there were a couple of issues that left me a little uneasy. First, the birthday girl found a large blue magnet in her dish, likely one used to hold orders for the kitchen staff. While it was easy to spot, it was unsettling to see something like that on a plate. It raises questions about quality control and attention to detail in the kitchen. Second, I asked for an extra set of chopsticks so I could take part in the shared dim sum without using my own (I was sick earlier this week, and didn't feel comfortable sharing utensils). The server suggested I give up the set I was using, which wasn't a solution for me, and then never brought the extra set I requested. It felt a little dismissive... Overall: I really liked thos place, and plan to give it another shot. My friends have been to other locations, and like them. They had great drinks, creative desserts, and some very thoughtful touches from the staff. But the magnet and the chopsticks situation were disappointing... That said, I understand mistakes happen and hope this was just a one-off incident.

Yelp
Ling Wu's ambiance was really great - we loved the aesthetic of the restaurant and all of the artwork. The cocktails were nice and very spirit forward. The food was very solid and we especially liked the Hakka noodles and veggie dumplings. We love spicy food so when we added chili oil and chili paste it was great.

Yelp
Came on a Friday evening for dinner. My husband and I shared soup dumplings, a shrimp dish and a beef dish. The soup dumplings and shrimp were good. The beef was very dry. The servers were very accommodating and brought us a mousse for our wedding anniversary! Low lighting, cute ambiance. Overall it's a fancy spot for okay Chinese food

Yelp
Our first time trying the new Ling Wu since it opened. I've been to lin's and Qi therefore it's very easy for me to compare and overall I would not rank this one the highest. Food wise I was disappointed by the following: - the soup dumplings had a bunch of hard pieces in them, perhaps pork or crab bones or cartilage. They need to parse the meat better. - the yellowtail/salmon mango salad had like 2 pieces of sashimi that tasted fishy to me and was $18!!! What a let down. Do not order it!!

Yelp
Had to check this place out as a fan of both Qi and Lin's, and it definitely did not disappoint in any way. We went all out and got a large variety of items for just 2 people, and each dish was really a hit. We got the Peking duck, xo cabbage, GF dumpling trio, veggie steamed dumplings, fried rice, and sesame chicken. The fact that they accommodated my gluten allergy for so many items was alone impressive -- I'm not sure if I've had Peking duck at all since becoming celiac. It was all delicious, the place looked fantastic, and the drinks were also standouts. Would definitely recommend it.

Yelp
THE BIG: Located in the Grove of West-Central Austin. Beautiful space inside with traditional Chinese decor. Large art mural of a Chinese woman on the brick. Free self-parking in garage or valet parking available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I came here during our anniversary dinner and was excited to try out Ling Wu. We had a resy at 8pm and was sat immediately. Drink menu was pretty vast, and the food menu was just long enough to have decisions. We got the soup dumplings, pecan shrimp, jingdo pork loin. Soup dumpling came out first and it was pretty good, however weird way of eating without the soup spoon. Rather it came in a cup. The pecan shrimp was probably my favorite but the serving was so small for $30. The jingdo pork was overcooked IMO. Service was great and on point. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall the damage done here was around $85 for three dishes. Very underwhelming food-wise, however service was great.

Yelp
Was excited to see another restaurant pop up! Since Qi has always been amazing, I had high expectations! While the flavor of the restaurant felt the same, it kind of disappointed. None of the dishes were bad but it just didn't feel worth the price. Service overall was nothing special.

Yelp
The restaurant is a beautiful addition to the Grove. This is the 3rd sit down restaurant located in main plaza of the Grove. There is parking garage behind the building and it can be validated after eating at the restaurant. The restaurant is just stunning inside. It's multi level with lots of dark woods and custom art pieces. Everything here looks like it was placed with thoughtful consideration. You definitely feel like you've been transported to 1920s Shanghai. The food is delicious with the soup dumplings Ling restaurants are known for. We came here for lunch and had the soup dumplings and the lunch special which comes with a choice of entree and rice and a bowl of hot and sour soup. Definitely a good lunch stop to treat yourself. The cocktails are just delicious. Service is also attentive.

Yelp
Our lunch at Ling Wu was an incredible dim sum experience with a great mix of flavors and dishes! Parking: Parking was fantastic--there's plenty of free street parking right around the restaurant, plus three parking structures just a short walk away. Service: Our server was attentive and made great recommendations. Everything was served promptly, and the overall experience was seamless. Food Highlights: We tried almost all their lunch time dim sum (weekday), and they were absolutely delicious! Some of the top dishes include the Pan-Seared Basil Chicken Dumpling, the elegant Scallop Caviar Sui Mai, and the flavorful Ling's Soup Dumpling, which is a must-try. The Crawfish Dumpling (crispy and delicious) and the Crispy Sea Cucumber Har Gow (a black, crispy dumpling with a gray dipping sauce) were visually stunning and tasty. We also loved the Pan-Fried Akaushi Beef Bao and the Akaushi Beef Potsticker. Drinks: I ordered the Genting Coffee, which was visually delightful and reminiscent of the Genting Highlands in Malaysia. Definitely worth a try! Ambiance: Their dog-friendly outdoor patio is a wonderful spot to enjoy the beautiful Austin weather, with views of a manicured courtyard adding to the charm. A great space for a leisurely lunch. Ling Wu is a great spot for dim sum with friends or family, and the overall experience is worth every bite! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
My partner and I had a lovely dining experience at Ling Wu at the Grove Saturday evening with an 8 PM reservation. Parking garages are free after 5PM. It's an intimate setting, where we were seated close to two other parties, the ambiance was vibrant and not too loud. Our server and staff were great. They worked well together. The menu offered a variety of options. We particularly enjoyed the lettuce wraps and the scallop caviar sui mai, which were both standout dishes. The salmon and yellowtail salad was refreshing, though it would have been better if the fish had been diced to complement each bite of the mango salad more effectively. The lobster cheese balls were yummy and if you use the mix from the lettuce wrap, adds even more flavor. We tried the alligator entrée, which tasted like fried chicken karaage. I ordered a tart and foamy drink. After your meal, take a leisurely stroll around the area. There's a park around the corner and there was a band performing music, it was nice to enjoy with the cooler wind.

Yelp
I have a family member with gluten sensitivity. We are excited to try Ling Wu as the dishes are properly marked if they are gluten free. We ordered the Crispy Trio dumplings (GF) and that was really good. I am not too crazy on the Sea Cucumber Har Kaw. The filling was good, but the sea cucumber dumpling wrap was a bit chewy and sticky to teeth. I also had the Hot and Sour soup which was good. Our main dinner was the Peking Duck, Szechuan Tofu, and Pea Shoots. They are all great tasting but I think we should've ordered more for 3 people. My favorite dish of all of them is actually the stir fry Pea Shoots. It has the right garlickiness and saltiness, it was cooked perfectly, not too hard, not too mushy. We went on a Friday night with a reservation. The restaurant was busy and buzzing with energy. Our waiter was tending lots of tables, I think. She said she would bring a drink menu, but she never did. We might have ordered some, had she brought it.

Yelp
Great Asian spot in this area. The dim sum was good and the service is quite nice. It is definitely on the pricier side.

Yelp
I normally love the Ling Chinese restaurants. The Grove version left me underwhelmed. (It left my wallet overwhelmed - but that is what Ling does. It serves expensive Chinese food.) Nothing was bad but few dishes were worth THAT much. The top note - a dish that was totally worth it - Was plain ordinary spinach dumplings. Simple. Basic. Magnificent in execution. The bottom note - which was a rare misstep for the Lings - was a Victoria's Secret. This was a red girlie drink with a hibiscus in it. It was cloying - an issue you almost never see in top quality bartending. I got it down but it put a damper on the evening. Scallion pancakes and oxtail curry were pleasant. I liked my wife's tofu and vegetables better than she did. She wished for a sauce. I thought the vegetables were unusual and had excellent taste. Desserts were completely unremarkable. $40 is what I expect to pay for an amazing Chinese meal for two at a place like Asia Cafe or House of Three Gorges. $80 is fair if you add drinks and desserts. This was closer to $160 with tip and tax. With a better drink, I probably would have been more mellow and less fussy about the intermediate dishes. But in the Grove Ling Wu is physically right next to Carve and Verdad. Both of those are magnificent five star restaurants that also have a hefty price tag. They offer one treat after another. If it is a Time for a Bonfire of the Budget, Time to Live Big and Spend Large, Satisfaction is guaranteed at Carve and Verdad. At Ling Wu ... not so much.

Adam C.

Yelp
Another incredible experience at Ling Wu. 6 of us shared a table there, starting with the soup dumplings, which were simply amazing, as well as several other starters. For mains, we ordered the lobster special, salt and pepper red snapper, combo rice, and green beans. This was a perfect amount of food to share across the table. Our server, Nick, was extremely attentive, ensuring our drinks were regularly refreshed. The lychee martini and Perfect Pear were perfect accompaniments to the food. Definitely making a return here!

Yelp
Every single thing about our lunch was incredible. The space itself is breathtaking, stunning, and every member of the staff is attentive, especially our server Chancellor. The food is delicious and generous, the cocktails are expertly crafted, and after asking Chancellor about another of Chef Lin's restaurants (she has a total of five here in Austin), she came by and offered us one of her favorite dishes on the house. She is so sweet and humble despite her success and it was definitely an honor. It's truly an incredible addition to the neighborhood with an increase of great restaurants, and it's clear why she's such a highly respected chef. Thanks to everyone for providing us with such a wonderful experience. We will certainly return especially to try the weekend dim sum.

Sadie G.

Yelp
I cannot recommend this place enough! We ordered a variety of dim sum dishes including their trademark Ling soup dumplings, beef baos, bok choy, and combination fried rice. Every single dish was phenomenal. You will not be disappointed. The restaurant itself is beautiful and perfect for a date night or celebration. And to top it all off literally every single staff member we met was very nice and accommodating. It's truly an amazing find. We came from out of town but will definitely visit again when we're back in Austin. If you're looking for good dim sum in Austin at a cute location this is the place.

Yelp
Incredible experience from the food to the service and the vibe. Hidden gem, but not for long I'm afraid.

Yelp
My wife and I enjoyed a delicious dinner at the newest restaurant in our neighborhood on their opening night. The interior is inviting and beautifully decorated. They also have a pet-friendly covered outdoor lounge. We dined on a delicious variety of dishes, including Egg Drop Soup, Hot and Sour Soup, Chicken Taro Egg Roll, Shrimp Har Kaw, Sesame Chicken, and Green Tea Tiramisu. We had Jasmine Tea for our beverage. All highly recommended. We also had a nice chat with Chef/Owner Ling Wu. So glad to have another wonderful place within walking distance from home!

Yelp
We had such a wonderful experience Sunday early afternoon for Dim Sum brunch. Our waiter as well as the rest of the staff were not only kind and welcoming but didn't seem to mind our 4 hungry kids in tow. They even brought them their own cutlery for lunch and a special key chain at the end of their meal! We tried several dishes as Dim Sum is smaller shareable style. Our favorite was the pan fried beef bao and their style of fried rice (with a mixture of meat). My 7 yr old said "this is the best rice I've ever had in my whole entire life".

Yelp
Came here for dinner! Enjoyed everything on the menu, the duck pancake appetizer was our favorite! Service was fast as well!

Yelp
I tried Ling Wu at The Grove this evening for the first time with family. The food was absolutely incredible as well as the service from our waiter and other staff there. We ordered a ton of stuff on the menu - our favorites were the pecan shrimp, basil chicken dumplings and the orange beef. All the meat was cooked to perfection and the flavor was terrific. We will definitely be going back here!

Yelp
Looking for some good Thai food when we in Austin overnight. Great choice, excellent food, excellent service.

Yelp
We enjoyed the akuashi beef potstickers and the shrimp dumplings with chili crunch. We ordered the combination fried rice, sesame chicken, and cabbage salad. 10/10. Great service, food is authentic and delicious, and ambiance is great. Excited for fall weather to go back and enjoy the patio. I enjoy Lin's and Qi so this didn't disappoint.

Yelp
The $95 snapper is maybe the biggest ripoff I've experienced in Austin. Bland, dry, and basically fish sticks. Vegetable entree was flavorless and slimy. Will definitely never return.

Yelp
Have been going to Ling Wu in the Grove since they opened and they appear to have a new manager interested in gouging customers. My wife ordered 2 glasses of Prosecco (Italian) with her meal, which she has done on the last two occasions. Tonight she was overcharged, $22 per glass, when they rang up a French Champagne. When we complained about the ridiculous price, the young Indian manager came over and said they did not have Prosecco and the waitress was not trained. We verified it was the same Prosecco we had ordered the previous two visits before ordering. They were obviously trying to take advantage of us and only offered to take $2 per glass off the bill. We will not be going back again. If Lin is going to continue to expand, she should be careful of hiring who will employees ruin her reputation.

M K.

Yelp
I'm a regular at Ling's restaurants and hands down this has the most beautiful party room! The food is as exquisite as Lin's, Qi's, and Ling Wu's in Lantana. Dishes with the XO sauce are especially delicious! The Vietnamese coffee is refreshingly good and not too sweet. Ling truly has a knack for elevating Chinese cuisine! The service is top quality too!
google avatar

Jake D.

Yelp
Very chill and great atmosphere. The food is absolutely amazing and the service is also pretty good and fast. I'd highly recommend coming here at least once the dumplings are the main attraction, but don't miss out on the main courses.

Beau T.

Yelp
The service was top notch and honestly is why I am writing this review. Kristeen was our server and she was kind, incredible at her job, and made the date night/ birthday celebration with my boyfriend, so special. We sat outside (highly recommend) in a boot and it was perfect. The soup dumplings and the crispy trio were the best part of the meal. Awesome drink menu too! 5/5 stars, easily. Would love to go back.

Yelp
Yummmmy. Oh goodness, the seafood soup dumpling was one of the best things I've ever eaten. They did a great job with the interior. Ling definitely knows what she is doing! Great food (super fresh and hot) helpful service and wonderful cocktails. When the weather gets colder, I would book a seat outside..

Absolutely AWFUL experience. The waitress misled us into thinking the red snapper was an appetizer and we ordered it at the beginning of our meal. I'm not trying to be rude but I'm pretty sure it was because of her broken English but she said they had a special appetizer that was the red fish. My husband and I both heard appetizer and she said it was fried, thinly sliced on some garnishes. Not an expensive plate description at all. It ended up being $95 and we barely even touched it which makes it so much worse. If we actually ate and enjoyed it, I wouldn't have complained as much. Then, we tried to use a gift card at the end of the meal and were informed it did not work for this location. We verified with the waitress as soon as we sat down and asked if we could use it that we could use at this location and she nodded her head and said yes we can use it at the end of the meal. They completely misled us and absolutely FAILED properly communicating which totally ruined our experience. When you go to a restaurant and spend over $200, you want to walk away feeling like you actually enjoyed the meal but everything was mediocre compared to the other ling wu location. I will never be coming back and will tell everyone I know the same. I worked in the restaurant industry for 5 years myself and I always tip 20% plus, especially being a person of color because of the stigma. However, for the first time, I told my husband not to tip because it was such a ridiculous experience.

Yelp
The food is good quality and innovative and great for lunch. The Peking duck and the dumplings were really good. We tried it for dinner and the menu was the same which was surprising but the drink menu could only be accessed by scanning. We got tea and they charged us for a small pot of tea with small cups and charged us for each cup - 5 dollars so for both of us it cost more than 10 dollars for just tea. The alligator was chewy and a bit greasy but the spices were good. The crab corn soup was horrific and so salty and tasted like the two dollar msg loaded powder packages from the Asian store but saltier and was not edible. The pork belly was tasty and the pea tips were really good. Morel chicken was fantastic but short on morels and the soup dumplings and sui mai and other dumplings were very tasty and high quality. I would come here for lunch and sparingly as the cost is three times that of a normal dim sum place but would pass on dinner as it's just similar items but just pricey and felt like it was not quite worth it - even the duck came with just three buns and if you wanted more you had to pay a lot for each bun while the duck amount exceeded three buns. Bamboo house, new fortune, wu chow and other dim sum places are far superior and better priced and you do pay for the central location, beautiful, ambiance, free parking and the quality quite a lot. It was good but not quite worth the price point unless you are crazy wealthy and happy to splurge a few hundred dollars on a meal all the time.
