Lingering Shade Social Club Review - Inman Park - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"BeltLine exit strategies are a necessity, especially around the time of your third near-collision with a weaving scooter. When we’ve had our full of that chaos, we stop by Lingering Shade. It automatically transports us to a state of calm with a side of European bistro vibes. There’s dainty, nautical-themed blue and white chevron chairs, a well-lit bar, smooth adult rock tunes to set the mood, and not a TV in sight. Our favorite part is the hefty drink menu with specialty cocktails for any season (the bold Lingering Cup is one of our faves), wine, and cordials." - Juli Horsford

New Irwin St. Cocktail Bar Will Cater to the ‘Middle-Aged’ Crowd  - Eater Atlanta

"Cocktail bar Lingering Shade Social Club is now open on Irwin Street at the intersection of the Eastside Beltline trail at Irwin Street Market. The bar hopes to target a very specific niche market—the middle-aged crowd—owner and Old Fourth Ward native Lewis Jeffries told Atlanta Magazine last spring. What age actually defines “middle-aged” is up for debate, but Jefferies promises a “low-key” vibe for those who may be seeking a more subdued evening from that of the area’s often boisterous bar and restaurant scene. Lingering Shade offers classic cocktails, ten local beers on tap, wine, and a food menu focused on shared plates and snacks such as deviled eggs, onion dip, and boiled peanuts. In addition to a bright and airy interior with a large, wraparound bar and floor-to-ceiling windows which open onto the Beltline, Lingering Shade’s dog-friendly patio features an outdoor fireplace. Open Monday - Friday. 4 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Lingering Shade, 660 Irwin Street NE, Atlanta. lingeringshade.com." - Beth McKibben

Love this place. The drinks are consistent and always made with care. The appetizers are simple but delicious.

Google
I like the seating in this place and the location is nice. I’ve only ever been for drinks. Not my favorite but I would sit outside and try the dinner menu

Google
The cuteness of this place on the belt line.....I LOVED IT!! I tried the kettle flight, pigs in a blanket, and deviled eggs. All were fresh and delicious. Oh and I topped it all off with an Old Fashion, YUMMY!!!

I had hoped to go to Lingering Shade for the first time. That hope was quickly squashed. My two friends and I walked in, there were two people partially blocking the doorway but had let us past them. As were were about to approach the bar one of the people that was blocking our path before ran to stop us from going to the bar and asked, “Did you want to drink here?” We of course said yes, not knowing who he was. He said everything was full and we got the feeling that he wanted us to leave. After a few awkward moments he said if we did want to stay we could go to the patio. It seems like a harmless exchange, except, they made the moment more awkward, unprofessional, and unwelcoming than they needed to. The two people that worked there saw us walking in and they could have greeted us in a friendly manner and told us they only had patito seating. Instead the staff was bickering/fighting and ignoring the guests and then getting mad at us for wanting get a drink and give them money. AITA?? I always got a weird vibe from this place and now it’s confirmed and I won’t be back.

Google
I just discovered this place on a trip to Atlanta. It’s a super cool wine bar with an indoor and outdoor fireplace. The service was fantastic. It wasn’t super crowded and the wine was good. They have big garage doors that they can open up when the weather is nice and a huge bar.

Rachel Thorne

Google
Not sure how I haven’t posted a review of this place yet. But this is hands down my favorite place for cocktails in Atlanta. The service is great, the atmosphere is beautiful, there are great outdoor and indoor options, and it is dog friendly! Plenty of natural light inside and the chairs/decor are very cute. Highly recommend for anyone getting drinks on the beltline!

Google
Great place to catch up with a friend or colleague or a first date meetup. The drinks are great and the patio is expansive. Wine list is great. Visited during the week (early evening) with no reservation and there was plenty of outside seating. They offer snacks/light bites but I didn’t eat anything as there weren’t vegan-friendly options on the menu. I appreciate that they are strict on masks inside. Very chill place to drink and converse. I’ll be back soon and often!

Google
Lingering Shade is a cute spot for drinks, the cocktails a great. I recommend having drinks on the outdoor patio. They even have a small fireplace for when it is cold. The food is pretty good as well, I really liked the crab dip. The staff was also very friendly.

Yelp
Absolutely loved the place. Perfect cocktail bar to visit in the summer heat. Service was excellent and great recommendations to order. The bar has daily offers which is great! We got the 50% off on wine. Very chic boho style decor too. We got the white wine and gin and tonic. Paired it with onion dip and potato chips. Must visit!

Yelp
This is a solid option for a stop on a semi-boujie beltline day. This place is cute and casual with a sprinkle of "old money" vibes. The type of place you take your parents visiting from out of town for cocktails to show them that you are responsible and have some level of class. I tried their spin on an espresso martini (forgot the name) which was better than expected and the deviled eggs were delicious. If you can sit near the rail on the patio, you'll have the perfect people watching spot. Try not to get distracted though because there is a lot to see!

Yelp
I've been to Lingering Shade twice in the past month. The first time to support Release Atlanta and the second after dinner at another restaurant on the beltline. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. It actually reminds me of a water side North Eastern restaurant. Great place to visit if on the beltline and want to sit for a drink. Definitely recommended for a first date!

Yelp
Lingering Shade Social Club is quite possibly the best spot located on the beltline! Do you wanna know why? Because they are completely dog, friendly, including inside! It is amazing! It also helps that it is a totally adorable place, inside and out! They have a front patio, back, patio, and indoor seating with a bar. The service was amazing too. They have a menu item just for dogs - homemade biscuits! My dog devoured them. We all ordered cocktails and shared the pimento crab dip. Everything was amazing. I'm so happy the weather is warming up so we can go here more this spring! I haven't been to one of these yet, but I saw that they offer cocktail classes, which looks like so much fun! Just an all-around awesome spot that you need to go to if you haven't been yet!
google avatar

Marissa W.

Yelp
Sooo... guys!!! Listen to me when I tell you this is a hidden gem! They have cocktail classes every month with themes. Spender was our facilitator and he did amazing! The food for the cocktail called was great! Superior service and the ambiance was amazing! I love this and sooo suggest this!!!

Alexis B.

Yelp
Bad customer service and will never visit again especially not for Bar Crawl events.!
google avatar

Kat R.

Yelp
What a fun, classy, southern comfort watering hole. I have been a few times with my dog (pet friendly inside and outside on the patio) and friends over the years. The customer service is impeccable with a smile, always making you feel like you are the only table they are waiting on. I suggest the dog treats for your fur baby, and the crab dip. If you are a South Carolinian - save room for the Pawley's Island cocktail and for an evening pick me up - check out the espresso martini!!
google avatar

Julia C.

Yelp
I loved Lingering Shade! This was a perfect spot on a hot, sunny day. Everything else on the Beltline was so crowded, but we were able to get a table here right away. They even allow dogs inside which is great! Not to mention the drinks are a great price compared to anywhere else on the beltline. Aperol Spritz were $10! I would definitely recommend checking this place out!
google avatar

Yelp
I have only come on Monday nights for their 1/2 priced bottles of wine. All the bottles of wines are 1/2 off on Monday nights except their half and full bottle of Veuve. I was waiting for my friend so I ordered a French 75 and the deviled eggs appetizer. When my friend arrived we ordered a bottle the Brut Rose from Spain. It was delectable. Ignore the menu as it says it is from France (June 2022). We told the server so we hope they will change it. We will be back for another 1/2 price bottle of wine very soon.

Yelp
We weren't even planning on coming here, but we're walking the Beltline while visiting friends in ATL and stumbled upon this. First-- this place is completely dog friendly! You can bring you furry friends with you for a table inside or outside! They even have dog treats on the menu! The building and patios are gorgeous. We love sitting outside in the back patio. I had such a hard time choosing what drink I wanted to order. They all sounded amazing. I can't remember the name of my drink but it had cucumber and mint. It was super refreshing! We also ordered the Pimento Crab Dip to share. This stuff was addicting. I could probably eat a gallon of the stuff all by myself. I definitely want to come back and try more drinks!!
google avatar

Shami P.

Yelp
This is our favorite spot to grab drinks on the beltline! We came here this past weekend to meet up some friends. The inside decor gives very beach's relax vibes and is always clean. The staff there are very friendly and attentive. They make their drinks really good! I got a bloody mary which was tasty! They have inside and outside seating which is perfect! Love this spot.

Yelp
I came here a few days after moving to atlanta and sort of stumbled upon it while walking the belt line. By the end of my meal, I was very glad I did! To begin, the location is geared towards drinking and socializing; they have a wonderfully extensive beer, cocktail, and liquor menu. I went with the old fashioned which was delicious, a really nice balance of the orange and bourbon. This establishment only serves hors d'oeuvres, which threw me off at first, but I got the deviled eggs, pigs in a blanket, and crab dip. All of them were fantastic. I would recommend all of them, but the pigs in a blanket particularly were delicious, as they had that warm reminiscent quality to them but with an elevated flavor that matched the establishment. I enjoyed them so much, I ordered two servings! Overall, I'd recommend this establishment for someone looking for a later-lunch/late afternoon snack vibe that involves good drinks and quality snacks
google avatar

Charles S.

Yelp
We stopped by for late afternoon drinks and people watching yesterday. This is the perfect time of year for the outdoor terrace which overlooks the Beltline. Waiter Lisa was very helpful. She even turned down the music a bit when we asked. The drinks were yummy, but the appetizers were too fancy and too full off gooey goodness and calories to order. What happened to peanuts or pretzels or popcorn? Lisa brought us a tiny bowl toasted Chex. I've never understood why Lingering Shade doesn't have a full menu. Sure seems like a great spot for lunch or hamburger for dinner. ANyone know the answer?
google avatar

Muriah N.

Yelp
A classy spot with great cocktails and light bites. It's rarely crowded (which is surprising bc it's lovely) so it's a good spot to go if you want to enjoy a conversation without the typical bar crowd noise. It has a cute patio with shaded seats and tables, too. Definitely a hidden gem in the Krog neighborhood!
google avatar

Vanessa S.

Yelp
Great spot to catch up with friends on a summer evening. The drinks are strong, the staff are very attentive and their recommendations didn't steer us wrong!
google avatar

Carlie M.

Yelp
Great place for drinks on the beltline. We came on a nice fall afternoon and it wasn't crowded at all. They have a great patio. They serve good cocktails as well as a wide variety of beers and wines. They have some food options too, although we just did drinks while we were there
google avatar

Samantha M.

Yelp
The service is exceptional and the drinks are even better. The atmosphere is also dreamy and beautiful
google avatar

Natasha H.

Yelp
It's cool. I don't know how long it's been here, there used to be another establishment pre covid. I have no idea how long it's been here. It's a great spot for people watching. This whole place gives me Charleston/Savannah vibes. The menu is very southern inspired. There wasn't a full menu available when I visited just appetizers or tasting plates and cocktails, beer, and wine. It's a great start or finish to a Beltline day.
google avatar

Christina V.

Yelp
Full disclosure, this review is solely based on the espresso martini experience. I visited on a date and we both ordered espresso martinis. This espresso martini was exceptional, mostly because of the ice cube. Lingering shade prepares spherical coffee ice cubes for these drinks. It was incredible. The martini itself was pretty good! But you could have knocked me over with just the ice cube :)
google avatar

Nikole M.

Yelp
It's a great place to catch up with friends over amazing cocktails! A friend and I decided to walk the Beltline and we ran into the gem. It's a beautiful white house with an extensive patio, right on the beltline before you cross over Irwin street in the Old fourth Ward neighborhood. It is beautifully decorated inside, as well as a Dog friendly patio. We came in on a Saturday afternoon without a reservation, and they were able to seat us immediately. Our waiter Tanner gave us a very detailed explanation of what each drink was, he was great! I ordered the Our Last word cocktail, and the watermelon jalapeño margarita. I will definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place. Fellas please take your lady here. She will love it. Very chic, fashion forward and exclusive. Drinks are amazing and the little small bites are pretty average. Go to place on a nice sunny day.

Yelp
Lingering Shade is such a cute spot on the beltline! I went here this past weekend with a group of 6 people and we were able to sit on their huge patio. It was the perfect weather and they have a tremendous space indoors and outdoors for hanging out. We wanted a couple of cocktails and heard this place had great vibes and drinks. It definitely did not disappoint. I love the aesthetics of the space. It has a beach vibe to it. Very bright and elegant feeling. It reminded me of a beachside bar that would serve oysters. AnyWays, we ordered a round of cocktails after being seated immediately outside. They have an incredible special I recommend with their kettle one botanical drinks. The rose and grapefruit mix is fantastic! Another crowd favorite was the Pasadena which is very heavy in grapefruit but is also a great light drink. They do a flight of the kettle one drinks and it's a great deal! We got appetizers to share with the hotdog/pigs in a blanket being the recommended dish. It was very good. I do wish they had more food options and more than just snacking food. However this is one of my favorite drinking spots on the beltline
google avatar

Patrick H.

Yelp
Very quite nice place to hang out with friends. Every Tuesday is half price wine bottles night. That is always a fan favorite This is right on the beltway so there is some spectacular people watching
google avatar

Rachel K.

Yelp
I went here at the end of a night out and it was great! We split the grasshopper, which was so tasty, and the pigs in a blanket, which were decent. Absolutely love this location on the belt line. The patio is fantastic, and we loved the French music they played!

Yelp
Vising Lingering Shade Social today for the first time with a friend/sister Cassandra H. We saw they was hosting a Yoga class call Sweat & Sip, with a tasting afterwards of Ketal One Botanical. Needless to say these 46 years old bones and muscles haven't been stretched in YEEEAARRSS! OMGoodness!! But I know I need the exercise. And today was a beautiful morning. Lingering Shade is located directly on the Beltline of the Krog Street Market. The club is beautifully situated facing the Beltline. They have 3 garage like doors. So! on beautiful breezy/sunny days like today. They have the doors open letting the cool air in. Also having those doors open is just ideal for a yoga class. Ms. Beka hosted the yoga class. We did some beginning stretching and moved into some high intense stretches. It was so soothing to feel my muscles being stretched while listening to some easy listenings from instructor Beka yogas play list. After realizing how old my body really is "GOSH". We top off the event with some Ketal One Botanical. The ladies of Lingering Shade brought out a beautiful selection of fruits along with some mint sprigs for everyone to spruce up they're glasses of Ketal One. This too was my first time tasting Ketal One. And the crisp clean taste of Ketal One Botanical and yoga at Lingering Shade Social made the rest of my day feel like a cool sunny spring day. I will be attending another yoga class and also buying a bottle of Ketal One Botanical. Thank you Beka and the ladies of Lingering Shade Social for a wonderful day.

Yelp
For the most part, I like this place. It's situated right along the Beltline so it's a good place if you are stopping in for a drink. The decor is light and airy with beach vibes. What I like even more is the half off bottles of wines on Monday and Tuesday (can't beat it!) They also have a very limited small bite menu. If you are looking to have dinner or get full, this isn't the place. I've tried the collard dip, deviled eggs, and pimento dip. All were yummy but the collard dip is my favorite--think warm spinach dip. The service can be hit or miss depends on who's working the bar. I normally go for the 1/2 off wine and it's never busy during that time.
google avatar

Marian D.

Yelp
Liked $ Liked $ Liked $ Liked $ Liked $ Liked $ Liked $ Liked $ I love that this place sits on the beltline, beachy feel, awesome place for people watching. Great place to stop for just drinks before dining somewhere. Pimento Cheese Crab Dip Pigs in a Blanket Disliked ^ Disliked ^Disliked ^Disliked ^Disliked ^Disliked ^Disliked ^ I know this isn't a full restaurant but I think I wished there were just a couple more food options. Just a couple. No collard dip available... I felt it was a bit pricey
google avatar

Melissa R.

Yelp
Was recommended this place by a coworker so I decided to stop in before my reservation at Rathbuns. After looking at the website, I was really excited to check it out because I live in the neighborhood. Walked in and sat at the bar and was not greeted by a single person that worked there. We sat at the bar for 17 minutes and no one even made eye contact. But others were being served around us (I thought when you sit down at a full bar the assumption is that you are trying to get a drink) I hate to pull the race discrimination card .. so let's just call it age discrimination. This place gets zero stars from me.. awful experience and I won't be back to try again
google avatar

Liselle B.

Yelp
Nice addition to the Beltline and with convenient access. I love how bright, open, and welcoming this space is and I think it has the potential to be quite a hit in the warmer months. So far, they have a good wine list and a full bar, but food was not yet available. I'm looking forward to going back soon and seeing what delicious treats they have for me to try.
google avatar

Katelyn W.

Yelp
Old Fourth Ward has been an up and coming neighborhood of Atlanta for some time, but this addition certainly accelerates the transition from an abandoned sector of town to a lively one. Krog street market is right across the street, so there truly is no excuse to not stop in if you're in this part of the city. Dog friendly and baby friendly, I've seen it all. It's a comfortable and less crowded joint than some of the other beltline social clubs/bars. There aren't televisions everywhere you look which is refreshing, and instead the garage like doors bring the outside in allowing for a nice breeze and prime people watching on the beltline. I absolutely love how contemporary this place is, as opposed to the rustic and industrial vibe the rest of Old Fourth gives off. It's new and refreshing. A group of friends and myself have been for eveing appetizers, as well as just for day drinking. The white wine and rosé are served up in a clear ice bag, which is different and much more casual than the usual metal ice bowls. The selection is fantastic, and the cocktails are made to perfection with plenty of garnish for your instagram aesthetic. The atmosphere truly is condusive to conversation with friends and strangers alike. I'd recommend this place to locals and visitors for a mid afternoon escape from the heat or a day out on the town.
google avatar

Christen D.

Yelp
So adorable! A gem of a place. They do half price bottles of wine and it gives an Italian feel. Love this place
google avatar

Tamira M.

Yelp
Yet another great spot on the Beltline! I was introduced to this venue via my attendance at the Rose All Day charity event benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation. You can chose to sit inside or outside. Nice decor. They weren't selling food so I'll have to return to add that review. Nice selection of refreshing cocktails. Live music. Staff took the time to chat with us & share upcoming happenings & vision for upcoming events. Ideal place to come & chill with friends or solo.
google avatar

Adnan B.

Yelp
Go here for the location, the wine, the cocktails. Food is really good as well, but mostly shareables and hors d'oeuvres. Tuesday is half off on vino.
google avatar

Shawn b.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to come when it's warm in Atlanta! They have great drinks and a great view of the Beltline!!
google avatar

Lucy L.

Yelp
Came here for drinks on a Saturday afternoon with the girls... patio is great!!! Nice for people watching. We didn't try the food but the drinks are good and strong.
google avatar

Kimmy B.

Yelp
Cutest gem right off the beltline with such a nice atmosphere with even better drinks! Our waitress, Lisa, was super helpful with finding what we would enjoy the most and made our time extremely enjoyable.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Solid drinks and good appetizers. Has an understated aesthetic that isn't my preference, but they do it very well. Friendly and excellent service as well, nestled on a great location on the beltline.

Sarah I.

Yelp
Fun place to grab cocktails with friends. Wouldn't recommend the small bites or appetizers but definitely try out their cocktails

Yelp
Came here for Yoga event. Sweat and Sip. I found on Instagram. Yoga followed by a Ketel One Botanicals cocktail. Lingering Shade is right on the Beltline near the Krog Street Market. Parking is tricky. There is a paid lot. There is parking in front of Krog Street Market not sure if it was paid lot. Time i saw dont leave or you risk being booted. It was early enough I parked at business next to Lingering Shade. Now lets jump into this Review of the actual event. Of course I was first on the scene. (Raised to be Early I cant help it) i sat an hung out in the bar area where they had chairs and tables pushed along the walls. There were 3 garage doors that faced the beltline that was bustling with walkers, joggers, bikers, dog walkers. Lingering Shade teamed up with Ketel One Botanicals for a Saturday Sweat & Sip. The workout will be a combination of HIIT (high intensity interval training) and meditative yoga led by Beka. She greeted me with a smile and brief description of what was in store for the class. Beka is a gym junkie by day and a Lingering Shade bartender by night. Everyone settled in. Laid out there Yoga Mats let the garage doors up which bought in cool morning air. During workout it didnt matter. We made it through. Beka was great! We focused on a Happy Intention for the day. Now for the true Happy. After the workout we enjoyed a complimentary Ketel One Botanical spritz. I chose the Peach & Orange Blossom. And garnished it with the array of fruit: orange, lemon, lime, grapefruit and a sprig of Mint. Worth the $20. Can't wait til next event that will probably be held on the patio.
google avatar

Annie L.

Yelp
Really love this place. They have outdoor seating for the pups with a water bowl! And they serve dog biscuits for $5 (how neat is that??). Drinks were amazing--I asked for something light, not sweet, refreshing, and they hit it spot on. Will absolutely come here again when I'm on the beltline!
google avatar

Kenita B.

Yelp
20 minutes to order 30 minutes to get half the order 40 minutes to get the rest of the order (A SINGLE DOG BISCUIT ORDER) food and drinks were fine but the service in this place a genuinely spectacular level of horrendous i will literally never be back
google avatar

Eric F.

Yelp
Pleasant drinks and tapas spit on the Beltline at Irwin. Decks in front and back have a classic jazz soundtrack and overlook the Beltline. Cocktails are creative and done right. We tried the Juniper Beach (made with Empress Gin which turns purple when iced). Pimento Cheese and Crab app is served hot with toast slices.
google avatar

Kathy B.

Yelp
Great spot for drinks right off the beltline. Huge, dog-friendly patio, great decor, drinks, and friendly staff. What a gem!
google avatar

Michelle I.

Yelp
Can you say millennial hot spot! This place was very crowded. A little too crowded for my taste. I can only imagine what this place will be like when the weather is a lot warmer. If you are looking for food you won't find it here as they do not serve food. They do however, keep the libations flowing. I ordered a Glass Rosè that was just perfect. The prices are decent. I think you could easily spend $50 on drinks here. Only complaints, no paper towels in the restrooms and dogs from the patio running into the main drinking area. When people bring their pets be sure to lay down the rules of the land. "If your dog continues to run into the restaurant area you will have to leave."

Greg D.

Yelp
Great cocktails and friendly staff. Little disappointed the kitchen was half closed 1.5 hours before closing. Also little odd that my tab alone could pay for Spotify premium and kept hearing ads over the speakers. Maybe consider springing for the ad free?
google avatar

Sean F.

Yelp
Good food, service and drinks. Also, super conveniently located. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Steve C.

Yelp
Excellent location directly on the Eastside Beltline trail. A very bright, airy space with roll up doors opening up into a large outdoor patio that is dog-friendly. Has a Cape Cod vibe. Great Cocktails! Bar service was slow and not super friendly. They ideally need cocktail servers or more staff behind the bar. Disappointed that red wine was stored in the fridge with white wine and served very cold. Lingering Shade is more subdued scene than noisy and crazy spots like Ladybird. I look forward to coming back and trying it again after all the opening bugs are worked out.
google avatar

Yelp
Okay I have to say I've always been impressed walking by this place because I live on the Beltline. Have always wanted to go. It has two terraces and a very sleek old towny vibe with with a GREAT looking bar. Literally went tonight, was seated on the patio next to a bunch of 30 year old frat bro's shattering glasses. Had multiple servers come out to their 5 table back patio and not give us any service for like 15 minutes while they continued to take drink orders from this super rambunctious table. We legitimately got up and left and very respectfully informed the manager and/or host at the front door who honestly didn't seem to care at all. I'm not surprised none of my friends have mentioned this place. Clearly this place needs new management. Wouldn't recommend.

EllaV C.

Yelp
This place was great! Friendly servers, delicious dips, and fun drinks! Located right off the belt line with fun ambiance inside or out! The bartender even had a sweet little puppy!
