Google
Went to Lips Cafe this morning and absolutely loved it. Have to mention how kind the barista was, we didn’t realize they opened at 9 - not 8 - he had just gotten in and let us stay and served us still! I was stuck between a few of their cool latte options (beet, tumeric, black mamba) he suggested the black mamba based on someone’s review yesterday and was right - one of the most unique and delicious lattes I’ve had - made with charcole but you can’t tell it’s still so delicious and smooth. We also had an iced coffee, a vegan blueberry muffin (great!) , and the cheddar biscuit (also delicious) so we were very happy with the food and drinks. The space is so cool, very unique decoration pieces and a lot of seating space. All in all highly recommend, and can’t wait to go back to try their wraps and paninis which look great!

Google
Very cute Café, great atmosphere for meeting up with friends or getting some work done. Good coffee! Only bummer was the food. Had a BLT today, it came on a super stale bagel. Also, they should really put their prices on the food menu. Really wanted to love everything! Maybe the stale bagel was just a one-off. But seriously, put the prices on the menu. 😘

Google
Great spot! Lovely staff, delicious coffee & pastry, and a really nice variety of seating. & the decor/vibe is awesome! It can be veryyy loud, especially during busier hours, so that could be good to consider if you’re looking to work or focus lol Looking forward to going back & trying more things! :)

Google
Always a good time here to catch up with friends over some good food and coffee ☺️ I love it here! Staff is friendly and welcoming. Seems like a good spot to catch up on some work or down time to focus. You have to be quick catching a table since some people with their laptop like to camp out there which sucks.

Google
Yummy cappuccino! Ginger lemonade is so good you really get a sinus cleanse! But the bake and saltfish prices are a little extreme. Decors are cuteee and the ambience is chill lots of people are on laptops.

Google
The food left me speechless. The interior has a very boho coffee shop vibe, that you would NEVER expect such bomb food from. Came with a group of 6 and we ordered at the counter and took our own seats. It was about 1:00 on a weekday and it was fairly empty with a few people on their laptops. My friends got the chicken and waffles, the salt fish, and the jerk chicken wrap. I got the Rasta pasta (and OH MY GOD) which was absolutely out of this world. I paid a bit extra to get the Rasta pasta with chicken, and had no clue it would come with fresh Jerk chicken on the bone! The pasta was creamy and seasoned to perfection. I also got a drink which was delicious. My friends ordered coffees, lattes, and smoothies, which they all downed right away. This place had such high quality delicious food that’s clearly made with love. The food did take a bit long to come out, but it was worth every single minute of waiting. Good things take time.

Google
Super cute cafe. Gives “back in college” vibes. Nice lil vibe with the music. Seats are limited. Jerk chicken wrap with hot sauce on the side was 10/10. Cocktails were good too. Service was satisfactory although there is a bit of a wait for food. Would def recommend. Visited again 3 months later. Tried another wrap this time. Jerk salmon. Omg. The wrap Gods def work here cause baby that wrap was juicier than me. They put mangoes in it too. You really have to try it first yourself. Chai latte was yummy as well.

Google
Bad experience. The barista got my order for my drink and breakfast wrong, then charged us extra when we asked her to fix it. The coffee was not good. There's lots of seating. It's a cozy atmosphere with easy hip hop music playing for ambiance. Everything was plated and filled in paper. They did not have the ceramic cups in the photos.

Yelp
The service and pistachio latte never disappoints, 10/10. Always clean and chill environment. Like a true barista, the owner has started to renter my order haha

Yelp
Back again for a quick lunch. The food took way longer this time but I was given another drink for my troubles. Lips cafe drinks and food is consistently good-- hence why I always come back! Was about to get a seat and get a little work done too. As always the music was good and the staff were friendly.

Yelp
Lips Cafe has been on my places to see for a minute. I went in to get some work done after the gym and was super hungry. This is a Carribbean cafe that serves coffee and hot food. I liked the interior; for the most part everyone was spaced out and could see each other so it feels warm/inviting. Now, for the food. I got the Jerk Chicken panini wrap and a sorrel refresher. Both were better than expected. The sorrel drink was large and not too sweet, and my jerk wrap was so satisfying (well seasoned, filled with jerk and spicy ).
google avatar

A'Yanna E.

Yelp
Cute cafe I believe it's Caribbean owned. I hear they also host networking events. The multi color lips on the cups is a cute idea to accompany the brand name and make a staple! The eclectic vibe with the thrifty dining chairs and tables works well for the vibe and audience there. Definitely worth checking out!

Yelp
This was a very tasty meal. My only issue is I thought it was a sandwich. I didn't appreciate having to do work and put my sandwich together myself. I ordered through ubereats and so I cannot comment on ambiance. I will say my food arrived steaming hot. I also ordered an americano coffee and that was also tasty. I live a few blocks away and definitely will stop by soon.

Yelp
We had a decent visit to this black-owned establishment that came recommended by someone from the neighborhood. The person who took our order was moderately personable, but answered all of our questions. The vibe was quaint, but cool. The restroom was clean with black toilet. Random, but cool. It took almost 30 minutes to get my order and I suppose it was worth the wait. I had the chicken and waffles. The waffles were the star. The chicken was cooked well, but covered in sweet Thai chili sauce which was a surprise. Still tasty. My sister had the avocado toast with salt fish. She was just middle of the road on it. We ordered a side of plantain to share. Those were cooked to perfection. She loved her ginger pineapple sorrel and my OJ was fresh and delicious. I want to give this close to 3.75 stars. Overall it was a decent breakfast to start our Brooklyn morning.

Yelp
The Lips Cafe looked so cute from across the street. I was enticed to go inside. The server was cool and the space gave good vibes. I ordered a matcha with a splash of coconut syrup. Each sip was absolutely delightful. If I lived near, l'd be a regular.
google avatar

Yelp
This cafe never disappoints. Anytime of year they bring it! From the music selection, artistry, seasonal deserts, and tasteful artwork this is truly a welcoming place. The perfect meetup spot for work, coffee date, or a proper catch-up with friends. They serve breakfast, lunch, and Evernote have a liquor license. Today I went with my Sorors to celebrate Fonders' a Day and bring an out of town coworker to Flatbush! We had sorrel, lunch, and shots. We had such a good time it was a struggle to get them to leave. I will be back and will continue to spread the word about this phenomenal son & mother owned business.

Yelp
Blue lip drink . So delicious. Soft and mellow. The energy and environment is very calm and relaxing.
google avatar

Varsha T.

Yelp
Lips has the best vibes. My go-to order, an iced matcha with coconut syrup, was recommended by the barista and it's the only thing i've ordered since. The sweetness from the coconut helps bring out the earthy matcha flavor. The matcha is creamy and is the perfect drink iced or hot. This was the first cafe I've seen a blue matcha offered and it was splendid as well. It's a cute shade of blue and had a light vanilla taste. I enjoy studying here but finding a seat can be difficult at times. I recommend coming in the mornings or early afternoon to find a seat.
google avatar

Tray M.

Yelp
Yooooo! This spot is "THAT PLACE!!!" I had avocado spread on a toasted "everything" bagel ! .com There was limited seating so they made space for us outside (on a beautiful Saturday afternoon). Everyone enjoyed their meals and the vibe was on point! I love Brooklyn & this will be one of my stops every time I touch down!
google avatar

Devin T.

Yelp
The atmosphere of the place was cool. There were different books around the place for decor. Sweaters and shirts hung up for sale. Pastries, multi flavored lemon-aid and cocktails for purchase. I came to this place from the Bronx for a book release event. AMAZING TURNOUT KIANA ST. LOUIS. Get The Book "Love Trauma Healing" If You Haven't Already! The cons were the people working at the place, didn't seem to have knowledge of their merchandise prices. Someone asked how much a sweater was, and they didn't know. They also didn't seem too enthusiastic about being there that night, with the amount of people making purchases and the crowd in the café.
google avatar

Emily F.

Yelp
I got the salt fish wrap, I was a bit hesitant because I have never had salt fish before. However, I am so happy the cashier steered me in the right direction. Moving forward because of my experience here I have a high standard of how salt-fish should taste. The mango salsa added to the flavor profile, and the menu was clearly well thought out. The chefs bring the food up from the lower level and deserve all the props in the world! Note that you order with the cashier and the food gets bought to you to your table or you could pick up to go. It's a great spot to hang out and chill.
google avatar

Yelp
I've come to this cafe on several occasions to get some work done, or unwind. Lips Cafe always hits the mark! Things I love: - Calm atmosphere - Friendly staff - There's a wide variety of food options. My favorite things to get here are the Lemon Loaf, Bake & Saltfish, Salmon Wrap, and Sorrel. Things to Note: - The food is made fresh, so the wait time for your order will vary depending on your meal. - They have reusable utensils, so be sure to note if you're dining in. - This spot is always a vibe on the weekends, so keep an eye out for different social events.
google avatar

Yelp
Holy heck that was a great BLT! Excellent service too, with just one woman running the show when I stopped by on Election Day. Super friendly, good energy. Comfy seating and a good amount of space. Go support this Black-owned community-first business.

Yelp
Internet cafe/bar/hangout spot, Lips cafe is the place to be in little Caribbean. You want to get your morning coffee and some breakfast, you need a work space or a meeting space, if your looking for an after work hangout or a weekend brunch, this is the one. They host an array of events, for small business on the neighborhood. The look and feel of this place is rustic chic, there's plants on the walls with some great art, books, good amount of sitting space. I've been visiting this place since the opening and I've honestly never been disappointed with the the food, drinks or service, my go too is the chive and cheddar biscuits, their bake and salt fish, vanilla latte with almond milk and their mango lemonade when it's warm outside.

Yelp
If you're like me and wanna be productive, I head to a Cafe! & one of my favorites that I find myself at is LIPS! . . The decor is cozy; decorated by their merchandise, and black artwork/literature. Some noticeable pieces are: Artwork by @pstudios_, "Black Boy Fly" By @joshuarenfroe_, pieces by @theattieproject, and even Jean Michael Basquiat. You can easily get your coffee and end up staying here for HOURS (like me). .. . It is a decent size inside, but it can get packed quickly. There is wifi which works pretty well most of the time, sometimes I found the Wifi to occasionally drop, but refreshing would always help. The music is always low and very laid back. Lips isn't our typical cafe, they serve breakfast pastries and lunch/dinner entrees, and also they have a bar! I always start with an iced vanilla latte with oat milk, and either a Rasta Pasta Dish or a Wrap. I recently had their passionfruit lemonade and it is so good! It's about 50/50 in which the service will be delayed, however, if it does take long, someone has always updated me. If I'm drinking, I'll end up with a Yellow Lip (which is good). I even had a pound cake for dessert one day, and they warmed it up for me.... (I almost collapsed because it was so tasty). Everyone is always attentive and will make you feel at home. You can even catch the owners in there as well, and it's Black Owned !! . . Lips is a unique space, so I recommend it for: getting work done, (It's open late, which is a plus because not many cafes are open late) grabbing drinks with friends, or having a casual date. They even host an array of events, from art exhibitions to networking events. . . A true gem.

Yelp
Lips Cafe is always a fun place to visit. There's drinks, there's food, there's music and a vibe. It can get crowded in here at times. On some days there might be a Dj. During the week you may find people in here working.

Sadio A.

Yelp
This place is such a vibe! Great choices on the menu. Delicious coffee, fresh juices, tasty treats. Friendly service. Cute, cute, cute.
google avatar

Sandra Lorena V.

Yelp
I followed their Instagram before coming in. As soon as there was a day I didn't want to cook lunch, I ordered their tempting jerk salmon wrap and saltfish wrap for pick up. The wraps were delicious. The mango sauce is on another level and the food overall tasted fresh. It was perfectly curated. The downside is that it does take AWHILE. I took my time picking up and when I arrived myself and two other patrons were waiting for our food for about 30 minutes. 30 minutes past the pickup time. I love their food. I love all the community events they have (check them out on their Instagram) but hoping their wait times improve. Definitely will be back. Oh, they are innovative! An espresso shot with beets?!

Yelp
i love to come here and study or read. it's so cozy, yet always populated with energetic, interesting people. good spot. i don't know if their coffee is any good because i get tea. service might take a long time but luckily you get to hang out :)

Sam W.

Yelp
it is a Internet café, very little food. The name of this venue is lips, Café. however, there is very little on its menu. The Internet service must be very good. Bring your own bag.

Yelp
2nd visit in 2 days. Fully in love. I had Oatmilk lattes, salmon rice bowl, special Wakanda happy hour cocktail, ginger lemonade, ginger sorrel pineapple and everything was divine. Please please do not waste the perfectly prepared plantain! If you don't want plantain, please tell them to exclude it from your order instead of wasting it!
google avatar

Geraldine E.

Yelp
I've been here four times already and I just love this laid back chill vibes here. I came last night 7/30/21 for their premiere of having cocktails and happy hour. The DJ was good. Let's talk about everything I've tried here. Their jerk salmon wrap is divine. Like it had pieces of mango in it. The wrap was so flavorful and filling. I've had the rice bowl with the sweet chili shrimp and I the chicken, with the sides of rice, spinach made with coconut milk ( so good), and cabbage, and plantain. I order the sweet chili over the chicken. I'm obsessed with their ginger lemonade prefer over the sorrel. As for the cocktails I like the rum punch. I also tried the ginger pineapple with tequila and the strawberry passionfruit with rum. They make really good juices that's are addictive. This is owned by West Indian mother and son and they are always so friendly and smiling. Come support this local cafe. Follow my food Instagram: @eatingwithetienne

Yelp
So I had heard of this cafe from another page I follow that displays black-owned businesses and I said to myself I'd support one day. I was in the neighborhood and figured why not. Upon entering there is nice music playing and a really nice vibe which I loved. You can definitely come and work ons a project, being your laptop and just chill. Very chill and upscale at the same time. The price menu was moderately priced but kinda high but in nyc it's like to eat you spend 20$. Easy. I ordered the Jerk Salmon Wrap after reading raving reviews of others and also because I prefer fish as my meat base. I was helped by Jermaine who was very welcoming and greeted me upon entry and another gentlemen with highlighted dreads. My and my pup felt good and the young lady who made my meal did her thang. It taste SO GOOOOD! I was shocked actually it has a chipotle mayo dressing with diced pieces mangos in the salads and on a whole wheat wrap. I also got the reg size sorrel & mixed itch with passion fruit lemonade and it was the BOMB. I LOVE SUPPORTING ,BLACK OWNED BUSINESS THAT ARE RUN WELL AND WHERE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE MAIN FOCUS. ALL I ASK IS THAT THEY CONTINUE TO KEE THE FOOD TASTING AS GOOD AS IT DOES NOW & continue to have the experience
google avatar

Tsai-Anne J.

Yelp
I'm giving them a 4 because their service is slow. However there are so many options and the food is great and the beverages are great. The decor is fun and instagramable. The only thing I will change is the speed of the service
google avatar

Teffaney D.

Yelp
After the first visit, I thought it would be good vibes and this would be my go to spot to get some work done but I've been back twice since and each time I would come in and I would either be ignored by the girls or they weren't prepared to have customers. The final straw for me was when I come in and the girl was at the cashier register didn't know if they were making food at the time, it was literally an hour after the open. So I was like cool, I'll order a drink, the girl who was in charge of the drinks continued to scroll on her phone and said drinks weren't being severed right now. It took everything in me not to release my inner West Indian woman on them and ask why they were open if they were not serving food or drinks.
google avatar

Xenia M.

Yelp
Lips Cafe is such a great addition to the neighborhood! Everything from their food to customer service is really spot on. They take healthy food and elevate it with a Caribbean twist. My favorite item is the bake and saltfish. The bakes are made fresh and are delivered nice and warm and the saltfish has nice flavor! I was thinking about that bake all day after I ate it lol! I was a little disappointed when I ordered my shrimp wrap and noticed how small of a portion it was. For $11.99 plus tax, I was expecting something more hearty or filling. Despite the small size, the flavor is good. The food will take a little longer because everything is made fresh, so I usually will come and order and step out to run a quick errand. All in all, great place!

Morlene C.

Yelp
I waited a year to write this review, wanting to give this adorable neighborhood cafe a few visits before I was overly critical about what could be anomaly experiences. Over the course of several visits I now know that a good amount of patience is required to reap the benefits of the tasty bites and nicely caffeinated drinks this mother-son duo create. I've admittedly come away from this cafe feeling frustrated-- on one visit the food took an hour to prepare, without warning. I called ahead to place an order before another visit, and still it didn't seem to save any time-- but I don't think this cafe should be written off because of it. They've created a nice community space in a neighborhood that could use more hubs like it, featuring merchandise from local artists and introducing people to their own unique twist on Caribbean food. Their wraps are sizeable and delicious, with a generous amount of protein and plenty of flavor. I tried the shrimp wrap on my first visit a year ago and though it took a very long time to make, it was really delicious. More recently I've enjoyed their rice bowls, which came with a side of creamed spinach, sliced avocado, plantains, and a protein. Both the chicken rice bowl and salmon rice bowl I ordered contained a huge portion of protein, almost enough to eat over two meals. I'm really not a fan of their pastries, especially not their cookies, but I don't think they make them in house. They taste like they're mass produced. The food on the other hand, tastes like it was made with love and very fresh. Visit for their savory food, but prepare to stay a while.

Yelp
This local cafe is a gem in the neighborhood. The owners are a mom and son duo with Caribbean roots. Their care and passion shines in the items they serve. The menu features salads, wraps, panini's, hot food, breakfast items, and tons of amazing beverages. I love all the cold drinks including the spiced sorrel and all of the flavored lemonades. The salad is Bomb. It's not just a bowl of greens. It has a mango salsa along with crumbly cheese, nuts (if requested), and tons of yummy fresh fruits like grapes, strawberries, blueberries, and dried cranberries. I had the ham wrap with melty cheese. I also love the saltfish and bakes for breakfast. It's sooo good and comes with sliced avocado. Yummm! I love supporting local. I love supporting Black owned businesses. And they're also reppin St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Stop in for your morning coffee, a decadent pastries or go with an empty stomach and try their hot foods and sammiches! Check out my Foodie Adventures on @saltandsavor on Insta!

Yelp
I've been wanting to come here foreverrrrr but never found myself in the neighborhood. With finals coming up I decided a change of scenery would make studying a little less miserable, so I made the trip to Flatbush. Vibes are immaculate, as are the food and drinks (and playlist). I got a jerk chicken wrap and a ginger lemonade while i was studying, and an iced matcha latte (not pictured) to go. The wrap was very tasty & had a great level of spice. I'm a sucker for a drink with ginger in it & the lemonade did not at all disappoint. The matcha was good, which I've learned is hard to come by at many places in the city. The interior is cute and everyone was working was very friendly. You can tell that there are regulars that have a great relationship with the staff. I will say that the food took a while to come out, but it was very much worth the wait and I didn't mind since I planned on being there for a while. I will absolutely be back to try more of the
google avatar

Yelp
A little ashamed it took me so long to visit lips cafe. They carry a modest (wraps, salads, paninis, bake and saltfish) super tasty menu and nice selection of coffees, teas, and cold drinks. If you're there in the morning try the bake and saltfish and add in a matcha infused ginger lemonade or something warm if its chilly. Its covid times so you may not be able to find a seat at its limited capacity but if you can theyve got really comfy chairs and tables to enjoy your meal or get some work done. The music is a mix of soul neo soul and r&b which sets the right vibes to chill or work.
google avatar

Christian S.

Yelp
The free shot was appreciated but not enough to make up for the *TWO HOURS* it took for a salad and a wrap.

Yelp
I've been patiently waiting for this cafe to open up and it has exceeded my expectations! From the statement art pieces on their walls as well as their bold lip logo! I love it. The statement furniture and finishings. This spot is an amazing addition to my neighborhood in brooklyn. Its always packed, I see people coming in to relax or catch up on work on their laptops. This space I also saw has commissioned art pieces for sale as well and I love that they have a write up of the artist along with their contact information next to their paintings! I also observed that this cafe hosts events here as well, which i plan to visit in the future. I had the hot chocolate and 10 points for presentation in that lip cup! I love.! And I think I need one in my life. The sweetest hot chocolate with whip cream on top. My husband had the chai and he enjoyed it as well. I had the bake and saltfish, which was well done, reminded me of home in Trinidad! Tasted so good! This is going to be a staple for me! Thanks for opening up Lips!

Yelp
Been a place I've been meeting to visit for about a year, and was finally able to since I was in the neighborhood and needed to get some work done before an appointment (I live in Queens). It was pretty full when I walked in and was worried I wouldn't find a seat, but luckily a stool was free. The vibe is really great, I see why this place is so popular! The music wasn't working well though, lot of skips and static. Also service was extremely slow--my wrap took an hour to complete, but was soooooo good. I'd come back!
google avatar

Shirrell H.

Yelp
I love this place. The food is quite tasty. I've only had the bake and salt fish and the salmon panini and I enjoyed both. The ginger pineapple drink is delicious and I never drink anything with ginger but I enjoy it. I came here with my bf to talk and we were there for 3 hrs. No one rushed us out or gave us side eyes. Ppl come here to do work (for me the music is a little too loud for me to focus but nothing headphones can't fix.) They also sell alcohol btw and a variety of food. Next time I plan on bringing my son.

Yelp
Wonderful addition to the neighborhood! Been here twice, once for a matcha latte and a wrap and another for an event. I love to support black-owned small businesses, very important to keep them thriving by my patronage. The staff is extremely friendly and personable, my latte was very good, they offer a good variety as well as flavors. During the event, I enjoyed a cafe au lait with oat milk (they have a good selection of non-dairy alternatives). I now follow this wonderful cafe on Instagram to stay in the know of any upcoming events they have at there. Keep up the great work !!

Yelp
Lips is my new favorite cafe in the Little Caribbean area. Well....it is my only favorite cafe in the Little Caribbean area because I am not terribly familiar with the area. But regardless, it was the type of place I walked in and felt very very comfortable. I tried their hot cocoa and I could not recommend it more. The portions are healthy and the whipped cream makes it oh so delicious. I probably got lucky getting in during a non-busy hour, but it was VERY comfortable being there. I could go there to work and ACTUALLY focus - very rare these days. Their service is really great too. The staff is very friendly and helpful when you have any questions about their menu, wifi, etc. I love Lips and I will certainly be back.

Yelp
I'm on the fence about 4 stars but 2/3 of my items were good so I'll say 4. I ordered the salmon wrap, Rasta pasta w/jerk chicken & a latte. The latte was so delicious! Barista did the damn thing. I wanted to enjoy the wrap but it was missing rice or cheese or both! The sauces and juices from the salmon made the bread soggy. Wouldn't order again. I ordered the Rasta pasta & there was a sting like hair or something inside my pasta. I still tried it (the part the hair wasn't close to) & this pasta is delicious & the jerk chicken is flavorful. Definitely would order again.

Yelp
Hands down this place is one you must visit. The owner "Dona" has one of those personalities that make you want to always stop in. Great location, great food, and a great atmosphere.

Yelp
10/10 for the everything croissant!!! i recently moved into the area and have been trying out the coffee shops nearby. this was my first stop and it did not disappoint! i've never had an everything croissant before but omg i guess the one here is my new fav breakfast item. the oat milk latte was okay. taking off a star for that...it was more bitter than what i'm used to. the ambiance was chill with good playlists, but not so loud that you won't be able to hear each other. 7-8 indoor tables and good decor! it was $10 for the latte and croissant, but i guess that's the norm here... still getting used to that!

Yelp
I mean where do we begin. Don't even think about it just go. Lips is offering you everything you need and more. Not only do they body food and drinks but the space is amazing. The vibes, the art, customer service, merchandise, COMMUNITY. Lips is really out here doing right by the community. This Black owned cafe is a favorite, been here and ordered delivery multiple times and it's always a pleasure. Salt fish and bakes are so good. Rice bowls are always a favorite. Woo match and iced lattes are great. Always happy to return and support a Black owned business. Never afraid to try anything here because we've honestly enjoyed everything we've tried! Yelp
Sooooo delicious. Everything here was amazing. Do yourself a favor and get the bake and salt fish. It's done properly. If you grew up eating bake and salt fish, this will give all the nostalgia feels. My sister got an egg and bacon breakfast sandwich and was raving about how it reminded her of the breakfast sandwiches at this cafe we used to go to in Trinidad. The egg was seasoned perfectly. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. The food is amazing, the environment is welcoming and spaced out enough for distance in the time of covid and the people working there are helpful and friendly. I would definitely go out of my way to come back here.

Yelp
My first time here and I would definitely come back. The staff was very nice, it was clean, everyone who wasn't eating was wearing a mask inside. There's outdoor dining available also. I had the Passion fruit lemonade which was tasty, would definitely order it again and add alcohol to it lol I also had the shrimp rice bowl which was soooo good. Definitely fulfilling.

Yelp
Love this place!!! Don't know how I randomly came across photos on IG about their rotating art display, but so glad I did and got to see what amazing food and drinks they have at this black-owned small business. Was going to try their red velvet latte and some blue variation of the drink. Instead came super hungry, and went for the shrimp bowl with amazing sweet/spicy shrimp with plantain, parsley rice, coconut creamed spinach and cabbage. Omg! So good. Pleasantly surprised by the heat but had a nice ginger sorrel lemonade to wash it down with. Was crowded on an early Saturday afternoon. Pretty crowded inside but we decided to stay. Glad we did. Service couldn't be any better. Felt like everyone in there were family and friends. Just what we need in these crazy times.

Yelp
The slowest service I have ever experienced in my life. Not just once but literally every time I have gone in this place over the past few years. Just waited a full 30 minutes for a panini that wasn't even that good. For this I paid $15 (tipped at the point of sale before I realized how long it was going to take). Do yourself a favor and get a sandwich at any bodega. It will be better, half the price, and they will hand it to you in 5 minutes or less. No more chances for Lips. I'm done with this place.

Yelp
Food is delicious here. I've had the jerk salmon wrap and salt n bake, both of which were made with obvious care. Baked goods are really yummy too. Need to come back to try their coffee, since it looks really good as well. Only downside is, it takes quite a while for the food to come out so just something to be prepared for. Like if you want your food in under 10 min this is NOT the place to go to.

Yelp
The owner is super sweet! I love the salmon salad and plantain boat. The space is a vibe and chill.
