Everywhere to Eat and Drink in the Adirondacks - Eater NY

"Lake Placid’s go-to for craft cocktails and innovative small plates is unlike any other restaurant in town. Dishes are meant to be shared and the menu changes frequently; recent offerings include a smoked chicken leg with chorizo rice, a kale caesar with crispy chicken skins, and a roasted asparagus dish that comes with spinach, preserved lemon, brown butter, horseradish, and Little Dickens cheese. One dish that never leaves the menu? The fried Brussels sprouts. The cocktails are the best in town and change as often as the menu, and the draft list is heavy on Northeast brews." - Matthew Lardie

Great drink selection. Food was delicious too, considering this was a touristy and more laid-back area. Price was decent for a tourist spot, and the servers were friendly. Ordered brussel sprouts, chicken liver pate, beef burger, and mussels

Great drinks, but unfortunately the solids were not what we expected! Lots of stuff is deep fried and the truffle meat balls tasted nothing like truffle! Sorry guys!

Lovely. Just lovely. I truly never ordered a cocktail (and enjoyed it anyway) before coming here. The food is downright inspired, and the service is superlative. A true gift to Lake Placid and a darn shame they won't be around in 2022.

Absolutely amazing restaurant!! My boyfriend & I sat outside and the ambiance was amazing, there were picnic tables with blankets and pillows on them, which was very cozy and romantic. The food was so amazing, everything we ordered. The staff was very knowledgeable, everything they recommended was great. The drinks are very creative and have lots of different ingredients, which is great to try. Great place overall!

A great place for food and drinks that are full of thought, passion, skill, and complex flavors. L&S stands out as a place that delivers. It would fit in just fine in a major city, but thankfully it's here in the Adirondacks stuffing our bellies and wetting our whistles. Love this place. Feels great inside and has an excellent staff providing great service. The beer list and cocktails stand out on their own, but best of all they're not what you're going to find at every other place around here. One of my top spots around these parts.

Every single item we had was excellent! The brussel sprouts were amazing as was the gnocchi, definitely our two favorite items from the meal. We also had two dishes off of the medium menu and a dessert. Everything exceeded our already high expectations after reading reviews. Please stop here if you are into interesting and creative farm to table food! Oh, and good luck picking a drink off of their menu. They all sounded great and the three we tried were!

I am simply blown away by any of the negative reviews on this place. Being an avid foodie, with tendencies towards more creative, I absolutely love this place and make a point of visiting whenever I am in the area. Now, if you are just looking for a fill, and want piles of food for no money, try Taco Bell or one o the dozens of crumby Chinese Buffets that abound in every city. My most recent trip was no exception to past experiences. Without going into too much detail about each dish, I can assure you all were well prepared, inventive, and flavorful. It is also worth mentioning that the creativity also extends to the bar menu, and there are some outstanding and strong cocktails on the menu (try their #1 for an example). We started with Fried Brussels Sprouts (seriously, these are so good and a regular item on the menu), followed by Beef Carpaccio with pea puree with pickled ramps (wild garlic) sliced radish and marinated mushrooms. We then went into an incredible order of "Tater Tots", served on creamed cod with horseradish and pickled ramps (ramps are in season don't you know). Then on to an order of Smoked Bluefish cakes with a pastrami sauerkraut with Dutch buckle cheese and Russian chips. The meal was excellent, as was the service and even a good majority of the diners, and we quickly started a conversation with a fellow hiker seated next to us at the bar that was disappointed that he hadn't seen the Brussels sprouts. Ironically enough, Liquids and Solids was also a regular spot for him when he is in the area. The environment is very casual, and lighting is very dim, so regrettably, this will be one of our only listings with no actual food pics. Their menu of both liquids and solids is available on line, so you can get a feel for what’s on board before you head in.

Excellent and friendly service. Unique menu and often changed (every day I think?). Our table sampled some delicious goat cheese and olives as starters which were excellent. I had the monkfish entree which was by far the best meal I've had in Lake Placid. Upon my return to Lake Placid I will for sure repeat at this restaurant.
