A Chef’s Guide to Portuguese Food and Lisbon | Eater

"A casual, lively seafood-focused place that does just three things — beer, bread, and seafood — exceptionally well: diners drink beer while waiting, then pick from whole fish, lobster, crab and other shellfish. Standout orders include huge grilled prawns served with crusty garlic bread and a whole crab head mixed with piri-piri chiles and crab fat, served with sourdough for dipping. The experience is no-fuss, pristine seafood done simply and deliciously, encapsulating a classic Portuguese approach to eating." - Marcy Franklin

This is the second time we have been here and it was fantastic. Delicious food, wonderful atmosphere, great authentic live music and prompt and polite service. Beto was a wonderful server. He was full of humor but made us feel so welcome.

We loved it! The food was super tasty, the place has a cozy vibe, and Roberto took amazing care of us. Can’t wait to come back!”

I was greeted at the door right away. It had been raining and I was afraid of not being dressed too formally but I was told I was welcome to come in and dine anyways. I felt very included. My waitress was good but I wished she had spoken to me more -like adding that extra Portuguese hospitality touch/magic- or made me feel more welcomed because I came to dine alone for the first time. I didn’t know she spoke Portuguese as I do too, i wish she had spoken with me more. She spoke Portuguese with the party that sat in front of me instead. I came to have Portuguese food for the first time in two years, the food was good but it seemed to be missing the flavor of a home cooked meal from Avó. I was given the check before asking for it as well. Overall a cute place and made me miss Portugal and my family.

Google
Amazing place! Recommended by a friend and so happy we were able to go before leaving Florida! Outside looks like a small resturant but when I side it’s like you are in the streets of Portugal! Blue and white tiles everywhere! Portuguese music playing and a feel of Portugal in the air. Sox of us and each tried something different. Everything was amazing and definitely a place I could eat regularly. Pricing was reasonable and the food was worth every $1. Highly recommend and will be back next year for a family wedding and will drive the1 1/2 a 2 hrs to eat here like I did today! My eight year old LOVED his bifana and the bread! Oh let me not forget dessert!!!! Pastel de nata warm and delicious! My husband had flan and an espresso and let’s just say he was very happy. Last but not least service…. Robert our waiter was amazing! He gave us some suggestions and was very kind and personable. My boys were being boys and he went along with their silliness and made us as parents feel comfortable and enjoy our meal and evening with family. If you’re in Orlando this is a must! Thank you Lisbon Portuguese Cuisine! You did not disappoint and I will recommend to everyone I know! My photos aren’t the best and wish I had taken photos of everyone’s plate.

Lovely food, excellent service & great wine. Super traditional. Takes me back to living in Europe. Highly recommend.

Isadora was awesome. Great atmosphere, great vibe, and wonderful food. Carla is also the BEST. And today we met Roberto. Can’t ask for more! Simply one of the best restaurants in Orlando!

Excelente service! Bea was an excellent server. We had dinner and all satisfied with our choices and with Bea’s suggestions. The lamb and the cod fish was delicious. The octopus was good as well. If you like sweets, ask for the “doce d’avo” also know as “natas do céu” ….just don’t look at the calories 😁 Recommend if you want some real home made food.

Google
Outstanding. We were supposed to be in Lisbon tonight. Though life took an unexpected turn and we could not get on our flight, we WERE in Portugal. Robert, from Portugal, is our new friend and made us feel like we were in Portugal, guiding us through the menu with passion calm expertise. . The food was fabulous, Portuguese wine and port. We will be back often.

Yelp
Having grown up in New England, this was a taste of home. The octopus was tender and flavorful. Pastel de Natas were perfect. Definitely worth the visit!

Yelp
Extraordinary service. We had dinner at Domu, and found ourselves looking for a nice dessert option afterwards. The staff were so nice, going as far as to place a tablecloth, even though our order was very small. Lots of smiles, and very warm service. The actual dessert was very tasty as well. It did not feel 100% authentic compared to what we had in Portugal, but there was 25% more filling and the desserts came warm, which was very nice. The ones in Portugal are smaller and crispier. Flakier and less filling. Perhaps this was made for the larger American audience? I would definitely come back!

Yelp
We come from a Portuguese family and every time we want to have the good tastes from Portugal , Lisbon is where we go. The food is amazing! They serve some bread with butter . As appetizer we always order Pastéis de Bacalhau (Salted codfish fritters) and for desert Pastel de Belém, of course. The staff is friendly and the environment is cozy. This is the only Portuguese restaurant we have in Orlando and it's very good.

Yelp
Back in Jersey I ate Portuguese food often, here in Orlando it's harder to find. This restaurant is a hidden gem. The bread wasn't the thick crusty loaves that I'm used to in Portuguese restaurants, but they were chewy and flavorful none the less. The garlic shrimp was good but I would prefer it without the tails. I had the chef's shrimp which was very similar to the garlic shrimp and came with plain white rice and fries. We also had seafood rice which was very much a tomato based paella and they substituted extra shrimp when my husband didn't want squid or octopus. There's a lot of salted codfish on the menu, and my friend tried and enjoyed one of those dishes. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and the waitress was fabulous. We enjoyed our meal, but we're definitely still on the hunt for a paella closer to the ones we are in Jersey.

Yelp
Had an amazing dinner here. Service was very Friendly and attentive. The the garlic shrimp and the octopus lagerio. A great place to have dinner. I highly recommend it.

Yelp
TL;DR: food was okay, drinks were good, service was very friendly and helpful, very pleasant atmosphere, plenty of parking. The atmosphere here was beautiful and reminded me of the Mediterranean. It's not a huge place, but there's plenty of seating. The staff were very kind and helpful. We had a minor mixup with our drink order in that we ordered the Porto Tonic cocktail and at first we got Porto Tawny (a port wine). However, the server was very responsive when we asked her about it and brought out what we meant to order very quickly. As for the food-- it was okay. Nothing to write home about. The octopus and calamari dish was pretty good. We liked the calamari pieces, but the octopus was way too chewy. The lamb was a little dry and did not come medium rare; more like Medium+. The bacalhaus (salted cod) dish was okay. It wasn't great, and didn't have much flavor. The bacalhaus also did not reheat well (which I obviously don't blame the restaurant for). The dessert pastries we got were excellent though (and sadly I don't remember what they were called, as I didn't order them). The espresso was also very good. I'd consider returning here to try something else, but was not impressed with our first time here.

Yelp
A Great afternoon with friends. Lisbon have a great ambiance with good service, the food is good and we love the green wine that is one of the best things that Portugal have to offer. The prices where a little bit high but the quality of the food was the best.

Yelp
Amazingly delicious authentic Portuguese cuisine!!! Enjoyed the white sangria! Pastes de Bacalhau/Salted codfish fritters Reminded me of my Mom's! Best compliment! My all time favorite Portuguese dish is Bacalhau Com Natas Oven baked dish consisting of layers of salted codfish, onion, fried potatoes and cream! Delicious with a garlic infusion! Husband enjoyed the octopus special! First time trying Doce da Avó "Grandma's Sweet" Layers of sweet cream, Maria biscuits and an egg yolk creme topping! It was yummy!! Highly recommend! We enjoy eating dinner here every time we are in Orlando!!!

Yelp
We've been passing by this restaurant on a regular basis in the four years since it moved from i-Park to Dr. Philips. Finally this evening we crossed the threshold and got ourselves a table. And meu deus, it was worth it! On a Saturday night, the restaurant was full, but not overflowing; Even without a reservation, we were seated within 10 minuted, during which time we dove into the impressive menu, replete with classic Portuguese cod, shellfish and meat dishes. The decor, built around blue and white Portuguese tile-style wallpaper, was pleasing to the eye. Once at our table, our super helpful and cheerful waitress Jessica helped us choose from the ample selection of at least two dozen dishes. We settled on the FRIGIDEIRINHA DE POLVO E LULAS - sauté of octopus and squid in a cast-iron skillet, accompanied by excellent Portuguese bread rolls. For our main courses, we chose POLVO À LAGAREIRO - broiled octopus covered with onions, tomatoes and peppers, and BIFE À PORTUGUESA - Portuguese Steak and Egg with white rice and fries, plus a vinho verde from the varied wine list - all our dishes memorable, generous and beautifully presented. Jessica managed to tempt us to split a dessert, the DOCE DA AVÓ - "Grandma's Sweet" Layers of sweet cream, Maria biscuits and egg yolk crème topping, complemented by Lisbon's fine cafezinho (espresso). We'll surely be back - there are so many other dishes to sample, especially the dozen or so types of bacalhau (cod).

Yelp
My friend who was born in Portugal and relocated to Orlando a year ago couldn't stop talking about this place so we decided to try it for my birthday. The location is very good with plenty of parking. When you enter you feel like you're in someone's house in Lisbon! The ambience is very typical of Portugal, with beautiful tile work everywhere. Service was kind and good, and the food was incredibly flavorful. We tried the pulpo which was simply superb, bacalao (salted cod) a la crema, longaniza (sausage) on fine (they literally light it on fire!) and for dessert "natas de Belem" which are traditional custard mini cups and oh, so. Delicious! It's a relatively pricey place but IMO the food is worth it!

Yelp
Wow!!!! Obsessed with Lisbon! I have never tried Portuguese food and really wanted to come when the restaurant was not busy, lunch time it is! Upon entering the decor is modern and very sleek. The staff was very friendly and informative. For appetizer I ordered the little necks in wine and garlic sauce. The clams were fresh and flavored well. The pot it came in was sooo adorable. For my entree I ordered Bitoque which is Portuguese steak with rice and egg. This was delicious, steak was seasoned well and the egg was such a cute touch. All worked well with each other. I also ordered shrimp in a Portuguese sauce, it came with rice and fries. I love the double starch, I was in heaven lol I can't remember the name truthfully but the food was very delicious. I can't wait to return to try other wonderful dishes!

Yelp
If you are looking for great Portuguese seafood, look no further! My husband and I shared two delicious entres. The grilled octopus (polvo a lagareiro) was delicious and tender, not gummy. The Tiger shrimp (gambas)came in an incredible Mozambican sauce. The sauce was so good we had to mop it up with our remaining fries and bread. Literally, we had no choice it was so good! Desert (doca da avo) was the perfect compliment. Service was superb, thanks Ana! Definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
1- Came here by myself and ate a great food, nice treatment from my waiter, definitely returned. 2- Returned visit was that welcome, starting with Blond hair women maybe on her 50's didn't greeting me on my family, she was a little bit I can say: NOT WELCOME. I also noticed that only this specific lady act like that way, the other ones is nicer. Look, for this type of restaurant, that's definitely unacceptable, however this should be on any restaurant, from A to Z. And you want to know why? Because been nice with others and everyone is free :)

Yelp
Went here for our Anniversary, since a trip back to Portugal is not planned for a while. Beautiful space, bright clean staff friendly. Several choices of salted cod, which my husband enjoyed. I got the grilled octopus which was delicious. Had a port spritzer which was as delicious as beautiful, and since normally I can't drink (for health issues) it was so Nice to have a low alcohol celebration choice. We often do not do dessert but the flan was the Best we have had, and a generous slice we could share. The chef came around to the tables to see that everyone was enjoying their food. An excellent Dinner! So glad we found this lovely jewel

Yelp
Great Portuguese food just like you'll find in New Bedford or Fall River (or the Azores). So nice to find a delicious, non-chain restaurant in Orlando! Service was top notch, super friendly and offering great suggestions. Even though we were stuffed, we couldn't pass on the Pasteis de Belem! We look forward to returning the next time we're in Orlando.

Yelp
My husband and I were recently there for date night, and found the food to be a little underwhelming. The tastiest thing for me was the Portuguese sausage, although the skin of it was tough to cut through. They flambee it tableside, which makes for a nice visual, although I am not sure if it adds anything to the dish. My seafood rice was tasty and the seafood portion was generous, but the rice seemed a little undercooked to me. My husband ordered the gambas in Mozambique sauce, and that was also tasty. However, he was still hungry as the dish is essentially comprised of 2 tiger shrimps, sauce and a serving of Portuguese-style French fries. We ended our meal by sharing the chocolate mousse. It was quite tasty, although the texture was a bit more liquid-like than a mousse usually has. Not an issue for us, but I thought I would mention it. Our server was wonderful. I have a gluten intolerance and she was able to help me order dishes that would be safe for me. It was an overall pleasant experience, but I can't say that the dishes were memorable.

Yelp
I ADORE THIS PLACE. Come here after work frequently. Always fresh and service is perfect no matter how busy they are. Certainly one of the best restaurants around here.

Yelp
Absolutely love this restaurant. The decor the aviance, the staff and of course the fantastic food. By far one of the best restaurants on restaurant row.

Yelp
Amazing food and amazing customer service. The deserts were to die for! Felt like home away from home!!!

Yelp
We came to Lisbon Portuguese Cuisine highly recommended by fellow friends, and they DID NOT disappoint. I was looking for a place with great food, lots of options, but didn't want the loud ambiance of many other places in the area. This was just perfeito! We split two entrees (Polvo a Lagareiro & Gambas a Mozambique) and they were just YUM.MY! We paired it with a bottle of the Alvarinho and topped it off with the sweet Doce Da Avo. The evening was lovely, made even lovelier by our gracious waitress Ana. People, this gem is a nice find! Muito obrigado!

Yelp
Exceptional culinary experience Our 1st time dining in at Lisbon Restaurant and everything from service to food was top notch For appetizer we tried the Portuguese sausage, cod fritters and squid/octopus For entree we had Portuguese beef, arroz de maresco and octopus For dessert the custard and grandma sweet cream Highly recommend We can't wait to go back to try other items on the menu Ambiance is good Cod F

Yelp
Amazing experience. Service was exceptional. The steak (steak on a stone) was one of the best steaks I've ever had. We will be back every time we are visiting Orlando.

Yelp
Being that my husband is from the Azores, this is a restaurant we have been dying to try. There is not a lot of authentic European or Azorean Portuguese cuisine in this area. That being said, I am giving Lisbon Portuguese Restaurant 3 stars. The food was decent, but it did not taste authentic. The chouriço tasted like a smoked sausage, and was nothing like the Portuguese chouriço you would get at a Portuguese deli or market. My husband said the flavors were not what he was expecting. Even the mousse was a different texture than expected, and did not fully resemble an actual mousse. I had the flan, which I will say was delicious. Portuguese flan is heavier in consistency than most other flan's, and this one was perfect. My husband had Carne do Porco Alantejana, which is his favorite Portuguese dish. The pork was not marinated long enough, and was over cooked. It may have just been an off night for them, but my Febras Grelhadas (grilled pork cutlets) were the same. Dry and overcooked. We may go again to try some of their Bacalhau dishes or the Polvo.
google avatar

Mariana B.

Yelp
It's is a really nice restaurant. On weekends, don't walk in, make a reservation, they normally are busy. Food is really good. We have been there twice. Those baked cod are really good. Seasoning is good. The lamb is ok. Octopus really good. Cod fritters and pepper sauce amazing. Sangrias are boring and very sweet. Staff are friendly.
google avatar

Dan J.

Yelp
A great family experience with my Portuguese in-laws. The staff was very attentive and friendly. I had one of the cod dishes. It was very good. I will be returning.

Yelp
This was the most oddest eating experiences that included NOT eating the food ordered, because it never arrived, food with no food! Maybe this is an Orlando dining while black moment, not sure but this spot was ODD. I had high hopes but those quickly deflated after waiting over an hour with no cooked food served. So,, I walk in at 4;50 and leave at 6:15... no food service provided other than Bread and salad paired with mediocre wine. There were only 4 people, when I arrived, so the kitchen wasn't slammed. I waited patiently thinking it's a Culture thing, well as endless families and parties arrived, they were served full meals, sadly the waitress dropped the ball and she knew it but provided zero explanation or accommodations. So I left, went next door to get that Ramen and was immediately satisfied and served . Can't help some people, when they not ready!

Yelp
Ventured out for dinner last night to Lisbon as we had been meaning to try this before the pandemic. The food was absolutely delicious and the temperature just perfect. I did ask of it was authentic Portuguese cuisine while chatting with the server and apparently she said it sure was. We had the Pastesh or cod fritters, calamari in tomato sauce, Prawns and Steak on the rock and flan to share for dessert. Red Sangria to accompany our meal. I have to admit, everything was absolutely delicious. Only one comment was that the small water glass never got refilled during the entire meal and we had to wait and look around to get the attention or our server to gesture them to kindly come over to get a refill on our water glasses. We waited for a while. Just a tip: maybe someone dedicated to just pouring water at all tables would be great. The restaurant was busy enough. Otherwise the servers to be trained to eye ball our cute but small water glasses when they are completely empty to kindly please refill for us. The food does take a long time to arrive but not terribly bad when you order appetizers to keep busy with. We had two; Calamari & Cod Fritters. They do bring nice small rolls to the table as well. Definitely would go back and recommend this restaurant. The ambiance is very inviting and feels like home. The tables are set up to allow sufficient social distance.

Yelp
My Portuguese husband finally took me here for date night and it did not disappoint! We are both thrilled to have found an authentic Portuguese restaurant in the area. The restaurant is small and intimate, and the decor is very modern Portuguese - the wall paper resembles Portuguese tiles, along with Portuguese ceramics mounted to the walls. From what I could gather all the servers also spoke Portuguese. The food was delicious and the service was great. I had the Bacalhau and would order it again the next time. We will most definitely be back!

Luis R.

Yelp
Outstanding service and food quality.Bacalau was prepared to the best Portuguese way!
google avatar

Kalvin K.

Yelp
What a super fun find! I went to the original location which was by the Orlando Icon Park area. Not knowing what was good in Portuguese cuisine I ordered something there that was not memorable. Having learned a bit more of the culture I opted for the octopus. Octopus is pretty good and this dish is a grilled octopus with some potatoes, onions, peppers, and a generous topping of Portuguese extra virgin olive oil. The meal is hearty but is generally sold at market price - $40 in November 2021. Still solid value and amazing taste! Finished it off with the egg custard tarts Portuguese cuisine is known for - also super tasty!
google avatar

Yelp
We went with a larger party so we were sure to have a reservation. They required masks until seated and took temperatures before heading in. We ordered some of the specialty cocktails and my favorite was the Portugese Caipirinha. It was strong, but the flavors were still refreshing for me. We ordered a few appetizers - salted cod fish, little neck clams, calamari, and sausage. All were very tasty for our table. My favorites were the clams and felt they were cooked perfectly in the white wine sauce. For my entrée I ordered the Camarao A Chef. It was sautéed shrimp in a Portugese sauce. I asked for mine to be not spicy and it was very tasty. It also comes with some rice and french fries on the side. It was a lot of carbs for me, but I just at the shrimp and had some of the rice with them. The service was great and they were very attentive with making sure all items came out and drinks/water were filled and ordered as needed. I can't say I would get a craving for Portugese food, but it was a nice change of pace and option for dinner that I would go back to again.

Yelp
Service - 5 star Ambience - 5 star Food - 2 star We fell in love with Portuguese food in Portugal so we were so excited to find this place. Great ambience and menu is authentic Portuguese but the food was quite bland compared to what we have had in Portugal. The grilled octopus tasted boiled which was not a good texture. The sardines were great but we ended up loving the warm fresh out the oven bread the most. If you do not like salted cod, this is not the restaurant for you. More than half the menu has salted cod in it. The egg custard dessert was okay. My husband really liked the Portuguese red wine and the red sangria. We might go back to try other things.
google avatar

Ramon C.

Yelp
Like the food, very good service! The salted cod was super. Will definitely give it a another try

Yelp
AMBIANCE: 7.7 / 10 SERVICE: 7.1 / 10 FOOD: 7.2 / 10 Good for any gathering or meet ups. Restaurant must be more creative with their Portuguese dishes. Do not get your hopes up.

Yelp
My husband and I visited Lisbon Portuguese Restaurant several times at its old location in Icon Park. We were very happy when we found out that they were not closing but instead relocating close by. The new restaurant is now located in the Dr. Phillips Marketplace next to Domu. The inside is very relaxing and they offer the same level of professional and friendly service. My husband and I started with Pasteis de Bacalhau ($11.00) and the Alheira. ($13.00) The salted cod fish fritters and the Portuguese sausage are favorites of my husbands so we order them every time that we visit. They are consistently exceptionally made and never disappoint. For entrees we decided on the Arroz de Marisco. ($44.00) The broth was very flavorful and the rice with seafood was plentiful. The dish had lots of clams, shrimp, mussels, squid and octopus. We ended our meal with two Portuguese Lattes ($7.00), egg custard tart ($7.00) and Grandma's Sweet. ($9.00) The tart was very good but Grandma's Sweet was outrageously delicious. It had layers of sweet cream, Maria biscuits and egg yolk creme topping. I loved it!!!

Cory W.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the food. We tried several different apps and had seafood rice and The steak. We will definitely go back again. The wine selection was not ideal but that is the only thing. The waitress was very nice as well.

Rachel L.

Yelp
Best meal in Orlando ! We have been to Portugal and I have to say the food was better even than in Portugal! The seafood was amazingly fresh ! Highly recommend the seafood rice, octopus, cheese plate ! You have to order clam appetizer- the sauce was delicious ! We also had Udaca wine from the Dao that went perfectly with the meal !

Antonio R.

Yelp
Best Portuguese food in central Florida area ! Very good service . Ambiance familiar and quiet.
google avatar

Juan E.

Yelp
I'm not an expert on Portugese food, but this was outstanding. The rice was just past al dente, the broth was deeply flavorful/fragrant, and the seafood was fresh and plentiful. I also learned that while Spanish and Poetugese share significant linguistic characteristics, the differences are significant.
google avatar

Celso O.

Yelp
This is one of the best restaurants in Orlando. Took my mom here for some Portuguese fair and it did not disappoint. I had one of the codfish dishes and the famous codfish fried dumplings which I highly recommend. The wine is well priced and refreshing. Definitely recommend venturing off in Orlando to this place and finding out everything that Portuguese cuisine has to offer
google avatar

Anjali A.

Yelp
I never write reviews. However, the food, the staff and the service was SO amazing. Highly recommended this restaurant to anyone in the area!!

Yelp
The drinks are strong!! First things first we made reservations! Once we arrive they took our temperature on our wrist. Mask were worn until we sat then we could take them off. Every went smooth and fast. I had the Camarao A Chef, I asked for the spicy version. Unfortunately it was over cooked and not spicy at all... we also ordered the cod fritters, this is very salty and if you don't like fish you will not like this appetizers. We also had the calamari, which was heavily breaded and over cooked. The clams were ok but didn't have much flavor for me, but everyone else liked them. The Chourico A bombeiro was well season and was fun to watch, we may have watched it to long because it was very chard. The kids had steak, rice and fries. The meat was over cooked for them, as they like medium. The sardines were good and well seasoned. The Caesar salad had way to much dressing and was not served with Romain lettuce but taco lettuce.. The service was amazing and our server was very outstanding!! Very accommodating, and understanding!! Which is why they got the fourth star for me. They get $$ from me everything is affordable. The drinks were amazing and strong. No complaints there. Overall we enjoyed the drinks and company but the food just wasn't for us. We would return for drinks for sure!!
google avatar

Sook K.

Yelp
This place definitely deserves 5 stars. Even during this pandemic, they manage to have fresh ingredients and keep the quality high!!!! Clams were sweet and fresh. AND the extra virgin olive oil sure deserves acclamation! You can tell they use high quality oil. Wine! Portugese wine we had was excellent. We ordered cod fritter, clams and Portugese sausage for appetizer. Excellent! Dinner we ordered Octopus and pork chop (for my child, otherwise I would have ordered a whole fish). Delicious and delicious!!!! Why am I writing this? Because a place like this should stay open. Quality of food is just so so amazing
google avatar

Janell J.

Yelp
Had dinner here with friends. Had the grilled chicken with rice, and it came with fries as well. The chicken was good, and the rice was seasoned well. I would have much preferred more rice instead of the addition of fries. The fries were kinda cold and mediocre. Friends all tried variations of different seafood and seemed to enjoy it. Tried the white sangria and it was refreshing, a bit watery, but it was okay. Our waitress was friendly. Inside was pretty.
google avatar

Stessie M.

Yelp
This was my first time at a Portuguese restaurant so I wasn't sure what to expect. Our servers were very helpful and pleasant. We were a large party and also had a baby and they were very accommodating. My only drawback is that the food was good but not worth the price.
google avatar

Luke O.

Yelp
Pricey, but fantastic. Some of the best Portuguese food I've had -- including in Portugal. Would definitely come back here.
google avatar

Ali A.

Yelp
Beyond dinner My experience tonight was simply amazing. The ambiance was cute but the service was warm and genuinely welcoming including chef/ owner Rui Borges himself who humbly brought us his piece of art food which hands down the best Portuguese food I've tried out of Portugal! So if you are in #orlando #florida you must try this place!
google avatar

Fernando M.

Yelp
Not sure I'd come back. We didn't have a horrible experience but also it wasn't great. We arrived for our 8:30pm reservation and there was no hostess, so we stood in the foyer for about 10 minutes before anyone approached us. We quickly realized the place was short staffed, likely because of latest covid wave so we adjusted our expectations. We promptly ordered our appetizer, drinks and food to take as little time away from the server as possible. My food was bland and there was barely any cod in, had to "dissect" it to find any fish. The rest of my party enjoyed their food so this is why I'm giving this place 3 stars. Service was not good - they were trying hard so I'm giving them a break but it wasn't good simply because they were overwhelmed and every interaction felt rushed. I think there were 3 servers for the entire dining room plus the outside.

Yelp
Obligado ! to this wonderful restaurant. Everything is authentic Portuguese and the patrons show it. The staff is Portuguese or Brazilian and so are most of the guests. The food was outstanding. Not the cheapest place on the block but it is worth every penny. We had a great time and will be back soon.
