Casual wine bar offering cocktails, natural wines, and a happy hour.
"Greenpoint has a lot of good bars that seem to be geared toward thirty-somethings, like Bar Americano and Eavesdrop. Those are both fine options, but we especially like Lise & Vito, in part because they have a lava lamp, a Kit Kat Clock, and fancy jello shots. The aggressively quirky wine bar also has an extensive list of natural wines that start around $14 per glass, in addition to a full cocktail menu. Stop by for a DJ set, or bring a date and sit on a chartreuse banquette." - bryan kim
"The best natural wine bars are always a little goofy, and Lise & Vito is one of the goofiest. You’ll find pink neon, peacock feathers, and chartreuse furniture here, as well as jello shots with edible flowers trapped inside. If you’ve had a long week and want to feel like you’re in a Saturday-morning cartoon featuring an abundance of booze, stop by for a glass of skin-contact pinot gris. In addition to an extensive wine list, this spot also has cocktails, beer, and, the official snack of 21st-century Greenpoint, tinned fish." - Bryan Kim, Neha Talreja, Kenny Yang, Willa Moore
"Are the glasses stubby? Yes. Is it quirky? Please. So quirky. What’s it good for? When you’re feeling frivolous. The newest spot on this list, Greenpoint’s Lise & Vito fully commits to the “just goofin’” aesthetic of NYC natural wine bars (and a lot of new restaurants in general). The narrow room has a pink terrazzo bar and a couple of big velvet booths in the back, and it’s decorated with peacock feathers, a lava lamp, and a cat-shaped clock. Try one of the fancy jello shots embedded with edible flowers, and drink a Californian pinot gris with notes of tomato water. There are also cocktails and a few small bites available." - bryan kim
"There are conventional wine bars, and then there are natural wine bars. If you don't know the difference, head to Lise & Vito, where the glassware is stubby, the bar is pink terrazzo, and the lava lamp and peacock feathers really tie the room together. Like most NYC natural wine bars, this Greenpoint spot is fun and quirky. The room looks a bit like Pee-Wee’s Playhouse, and the wine list features an interesting range of low-intervention wines from Virginia, Ontario, France, Italy, and more. Many of the bottles are in the $50 range, so swing by with a few friends, camp out in a velvet booth, and explore some new varietals. Lise & Vito also serves cocktails and a few small plates, as well as fancy jello shots. Like we said, quirky. photo credit: Lise & Vito" - Bryan Kim
"A new natural wine bar offering wine by the glass and bottle, with a full bar for cocktails, beer, and non-alcoholic options. The space will host pop-ups regularly." - Emma Orlow
