Lito's Empanadas - The Sterling Food Hall

Been here twice. Both times I had tasty empanadas with choice of green or red sauce - both are great. I also got a lunch deal this time that was like $10 for a beef empanada, side, and a drink. I got elote in a cup for a side and it was a good amount/shareable and delicious. Recommend the restaurant fully. Only downside is how busy the food hall gets and can be a bit of a line and gotta hunt for a table to eat at.

The Hall was my favorite spot when I worked on a project in Chicago and it’s been a couple of years since I’ve been back. AND to my surprise, I discovered this yummy spot! Excellent service, delicious empanadas and the sauce is amazing. All of your problems will be solved when you bite into this delicious-ness. Enjoy! 🥰😋🤤

I had the birria chimichanga today and it was delicious. We split it with a friend it was so huge. Would highly recommend it.

Lito’s Empanadas at Revival Food Hall always hits the spot!!! The employees are always so warm and friendly and they definitely elevate the empanada experience. Their vegetarian empanadas (spinach and cheese is my favorite) are very delicious and I definitely recommend trying them. 10/10!!!

Lito’s empanadas at the French market is a tasty treat for breakfast or lunch. My favorite is the beef and potatoes. Very flavorful and tasty. I tried the chicken and rice as well, tasty but a little dry. I will definitely visit more often

Had the tinga chimichanga and it was hugeeee and very yummy - I have to try the empanadas next!

Very filling and yummy ordered the chorizo empanada meal which comes with choice of side and drink, so good!

Dropped in for a quick light breakfast. Got an egg and bacon empanada. Wow it was packed with fluffy eggs and bacon. Totally truthful advertising. It was fantastic. Nice a warm and the service was so fast. Only regret is I did a YELP check in and saw the 10% off coupon too late.

If you want to take these home do not wait till after lunch crowd. We were grabbing some at 3:00 and most were gone :( still our fam loved them and they're huge the chimichangas. That location is so easy to grab and take on train, not sure why it took me so long to figure out the underground connection to the stairs to the tracks to the train

I order from here quite often and the empanadas are always great! Lots of variety and piping hot. The folks working there are always friendly and quick with a suggestion whether that is a good side sauce to try with your selection or a new item to try. I really like all of the breakfast choices and the potato and chicken/beef empanadas are good too. When I am thinking ahead, dessert is always worth considering. Don't wait---order and enjoy!

Empanadas are great all the time! My favorite is the spinach and chicken with mushrooms. They are baked fresh and never disappoints!

This place is AMAZING! I work downtown and rarely go out for lunch. One day a coworker brought two empanadas back for me to try and I have been hooked. I love the mozzarella and spinach one as well as the chorizo and potato. I can't wait to try the others! I only wish they were closer to my house so I can enjoy them on the weekends!

I don't have a photo because ate them . These empanadas were fire. I had the Nutella banana, caramel apple, and spinach egg ones and I couldn't be more happy. They were flaky and so flavorful. I wish they wervlike $3.50-$4 so I could buy more, but they were good

I love Litos empanadas, for $4 I get stuffed with such a delicious treat. They are located inside revival food hall and you get half off during happy hour. My favorite is the spinach and cheese or chicken and mushroom. The aji sauce is also very tasty and compliments any of the empanadas.

Surprisingly good and you can't beat the price. They have a good variety of Empanadas and a great selection of sauces. You can easily eat here everyday and enjoy a new combination every time. I got the beef and potato with a side the Morita sauce. It was a great combo.

I've tried every savory empanadas here and they're all fantastic! The seasoning is spot on and so is the filling to dough ratio. I recommend the mild and sweet salsas. The staff Is also friendly and helpful with recommendations.

Amazing empanadas located right in downtown chicago. One of the best options in the food hall. Staff was friendly. Ambiance is nice and there is plenty of seating.

I grew up in South Florida, I know a good empanada when I taste one. Litos is legit, so good! Service was great and the ambiance is really nice.

Fantastic empanadas- filling, tasty, great lunch option and the fastest moving line in the food court. Variety of and pre-packaged sauces to grab and go. Highly recommend

This was an awful empanada. I'm not sure if we got them on an off day, but I've had way better and was expecting a slightly higher quality. The service was good, but I would skip this place and the entire food hall for that matter. Way better options elsewhere.

I came here during a lunch rush and was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the line moved. My empanadas were delicious, but the sauces were the best part. I wonder if they sell those in bulk, because they're so good!

My parents and I had empanadas from Lito's. Service was good and you get one sauce for each empanada you order. We had the beef, chicken and mushroom, and chorizo and cheese. It's a bit steep at $3.85/each but tasty and filling. I loved the chorizo and cheese and could've gotten another one, but I opted to get the Nutella and banana empanada. It's messy to eat because every bite gushes our Nutella but it heavenly! I enjoyed coming here to have them but the their other location has more options (but less seating!) so it depends what you're looking for.

Revival Food Hall is situated in a beautiful historic building in the midst of all the hustle and bustle, but we arrived on a sleepy Tuesday morning just as the restaurants were opening. With virtually no one there - except those looking to get their morning start at the Revival Café - we headed to Lito's enticed by the variety of empanadas in their display. The cashier was less than welcoming (maybe she hadn't had her morning pick-me-up yet), but regardless, we went on with our order. Basically double of the beef and rice, chicken and mushroom, and chorizo and cheese. They have a deal where two empanadas and a drink costs $8.25 or three and a drink costs $12. We weren't interested in the small selection of drinks they offered, so we ordered 6 at $3.85 each. Coming from the Bay Area, that's pretty steep when you can typically get it for less than $2. It's whateva though... Otherwise, these empanadas were bomb though. FYI the chorizo has a bit of sweetness to it. All so filling and not greasy at all. So yummy with the selection of sauces they offer. Aside from the grumpy lady and the cost, still worth a visit.

I'm sorry I didn't see Smoque before I came here; maybe I would have saved myself some disappointment! Service was lackluster, the empañadas were just okay, and the value for the price was pretty low, as well. I ordered chorizo and chicken & mushroom in the savory category, and caramel apple. I was expecting flaky crust, savory (or sweet) fillings, and just all-around pockets of goodness. Instead I got somewhat dry fillings with bland, doughy encasements. The caramel apple one was not-quite-sweet, mushy, and lacking any real flavor other than that of cooked apples. I just so happened to see another patron getting cups of some kind of sauce, so I asked for some. The young lady at the register kept trying to ring me up for the empanadas I'd already paid for instead of giving me their accompanying sauces. When I finally got her to comprehend my request, she did give me a cup. It helped some, but did not completely redeem the experience. I can definitely scratch this spot off of my list!

I love empanadas so I saw them on the menu and just had to try this place out. It was advertised to be golden flaky crust so I thought I was in for a treat. I ordered through the app which was easy I had the meatless one with potatoes and peppers. I also had the coleslaw which was good however the empanadas did not meet my expectations. It was a dark oily brown color which looked like it had been deep fried in oil that needed to be changed. There was nothing light or flaky about this empanada which is kind of the whole point. I can't believe I was actually served this. I did take a picture. And while the coleslaw was good I was still left hungry because I could not enjoy my empanada.

Oh yeah! Mid morning snack. I had chorizo and egg, bacon and egg and caramel apple. The wife had beef and chorizo. Scarfed down instantly. On the train now wishing I got some caramel apple for the road.

Empanadas are excellent. Quality and price is right at my sweet spot...perfect for a snack or light lunch. My favorites are the chorizo and beef with rice definitely filling! The sauces are on point too!

Love all the different flavors they offer. There's so much variety here. This is my new favorite place for empanada cravings!!!

Simple, cheap, quick, and DELICIOUS. We ordered the chorizo and cheese empanadas with the Serrano sauce. Both amazing! I wish they sold that sauce packaged separately, I would buy a whole bottle!
