Best authentic shaved ice I’ve ever had! Exactly what I’m looking for. It’s similar to the Korean style but this is more tradition, more old schoooled, the one I grew up eating. Owners are very nice and explained how the toppings work. Recommend getting shaved ice with mango, taro balls and green beans. Would come back.

I've been going to this establishment for over 15 years and usually stop by every two months when I'm in town. The elderly couple are the best. They've been running the shop for years and are always polite and the best! In addition, you'll find some of the best boba and tea anywhere at an affordable price. Cold and sweet. Every time I go in the shop, it brings back memories of being a kid.

This place has a lot of nostalgia for me. I had my first boba milk tea here more than twenty years ago and this place remains unchanged. Fresh and delicious drinks, nice place to hang out

mom 'n pop, auntie 'n uncle, since 1994... such lovely people. God, I miss Taiwan! What used to be a tea 'n snack shop shifted to become a Taiwanese 7/11 to survive, the sort of place where you can do everything! Also, it's the only bubble milk tea under $5 after tax(!) nowadays.

Definitely an interesting spot. Kind of crowded and messy, with a really homey feel to it. Two older people run the spot. Asked for a boba, and the old lady looked annoyed. Asked for scratchers and she was a bit happier and wished me luck. I’d call this place more of a gambling den than a spot for boba.

I’ve been coming here for the past 24 years, since I was a little kid. Their shaved ice is delicious and super affordable (I usually order to-go, so we can eat it at home under cozy blankets in all seasons). It’s my go-to for dessert at least twice a month, and I got my husband obsessed with it too 😅 Love supporting this cute moms/pops shop. You should too!

This is definitely one of the original boba spots. It has not changed since it's open. They sell boba, snacks, and shaved ice. I love the mom and pop feel. There are a few tables for indoor seating. My to go drink is green milk tea with boba. Another favorite is the taro smoothie.

Walking into Little Bean feels like stepping back in time to the late 80s or early 90s. The place is an interesting blend of a shop, featuring some postal equipment, lottery tickets, and food offerings. We came specifically for the food, with our sights set on the shave ice. We tried the mango, taro, and red bean combination, which was prepared right in front of us using a vintage but still fully functional machine. The dessert was perfectly balanced--not overly sweet, and made without condensed milk, which let the natural flavors shine through. The service was also very friendly, adding to the charm of the experience. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'd highly recommend it for anyone looking for a nostalgic atmosphere and delicious shave ice.

Been coming here for decades and I never write bad reviews especially ones based solely on service but this was definitely a new low. The female staffer ignored us completely and when I went up to order, she gave us lots of attitude and just told us to look at the menu. We also got a lot of eye rolling as well. Honestly, I should've just walked out. But I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt maybe she was having a bad day? Honestly, the lady has never been kind all the years that I've been going, but she's never been this bad. Then my mom ordered a smoothie and she was unhappy that she referred it to it as a smoothie sha bing instead of a bing sha. Even the male staffer was rude. Zero customers inside. Wanted to support them, but this is definitely the last time. They were one of the OG places to start serving Boba back in the day and their shaved ice was pretty decent. Their drinks have always been so so, but I always try to support mom and pops and this was definitely one of those places you go just to feel nostalgic about the old times. I am totally fine with zero service and even bad service, but this was way worse than bad. I also don't think it's ok to have used power tools and other stuff just spread out on the counters were people are supposed to eat.

Years later and I still LOVE Little Bean. I'm so happy it is still here especially as I no longer live in the area, but have to stop by everytime I am in town. They have traditional taiwanese shaved ice, which is so hard to find now, and only for $6.75 in 2024, when it is around $10 everywhere else. Still owned and run by the same couple as when I was a kid. Service is slow moving, but I think it adds to the charm of the place. Stop in for traditional Taiwanese desserts and support your local small business.

Went back tonight and took a friend so he could see if what I like is really gewd and he likes it! Maybe next time he goes he and his family can enjoy this place together. For those who do not know, this is a hole in the wall kind of place. Ingredients here are made fresh by the owners who take pride in what they serve and offer. They have made long time customers that have been coming here for years...wish I was one. Barely found this place maybe 2 to 2 1/2 years ago. This place mostly offers desserts and some take home and cook food items.

There's no place like Little Bean!!!! I drive from Fullerton to come here because it's truly worth it. The shaved ice is the best - not too sweet, big enough to share and super legit. The popcorn chicken is a must get!!!! And their boba milk tea is so refreshing again not too sweet. The ambiance is janky but honestly don't even care it's so good.

Wow, I can't believe I never reviewed this place! I am so thankful it survived through the pandemic, seeing that is a mom and pop store, very small and homey. This is my go to place for Taiwanese shaved ice whenever I come to Rowland Heights! They use fresh ingredients and give a nice portion for a fraction of the price (comparing it to other Taiwanese restaurants!). The only reason why I am giving four stars instead of five is because I only order one item from this place. I want to venture out to other things on their menu..but I just can't get myself to... My friend did order Taro smoothie once, and the lady literally just took fresh taro and blend it into a smoothie! Highly recommend this place if you want a taste of Taiwan drinks and snacks :)!

One of our favorite spots in Rowland Heights! My family has been coming here for years, ever since we were kids, and it's always been the same husband and wife running the entire shop. Service is a little slow, but it's because the lady makes every drink from scratch with tons of love and patience with homemade ingredients. It's fun to watch her create behind the counter. Even the fruit teas are literal fruit blended in front of you with tea, not the syrupy stuff. Our personal favorites have always been the smoothies/slushes because she blends them to perfection and even gives us the extra in a cup on the side. Shaved ice is also delicious. This is one of my favorite small businesses to support!

Ordered a milk coffee tea with boba. Prices are cheap and get you a good drink. A bonus is that the store has a cozy, mom and pop business feel to it.

Always great drinks and great service. We make the drive from Eastvale to Industry because of those very reasons.

Stopped by Little Bean for dessert. There were no other customers present at 7pm (one hour before closing). We placed our order and waited about 10-15 minutes for our two orders of hot grass jelly. Hot Grass Jelly w/ 3 items ($6.50): Added tapioca, red bean, and sweet potato + taro rice ball. The grass jelly tasted fresh and was unlike any dessert I've had since it was more a grass jelly soup with the toppings mixed in. For those who want to try an authentic Taiwanese grass jelly dessert, this is it. In hindsight, I do wish we ordered only one of the hot dessert and tried a shaved ice as well.. but that just means I'll have to make another trip out.

Amazing Boba Milk Tea, even better shaved ice. My boys and I have been coming here for over ten years. It's a small mom & pop store, which makes it even sweeter to support this business. Owner always remembers us when we come in, she's very pleasant, which is why we keep on coming back.

Decided to look for some dessert spot the other night and came across Little Bean. I wanted some old school desserts like red bean soup and black sesame soup. This place did not disappoint. It's a mom and pop shop. There's plenty of parking but if you happened to park on the supermarket side like we did, you may need to walk over. Service is what I call the old school Asian service.. meaning they don't really care about customer service. They have some seating there but don't expect a cute cafe place to hang out at. Overall, I would definitely come back for the desserts. It was also really affordable in this day and age of inflation.

The older I get the more I realize how special mom n pop stores like Little Bean are - for decades, it's been a mainstay for Taiwanese treats, dry foods, and desserts and a tried and true place my friends and I go to for simple yet delicious Taiwanese shaved ice. While there's nothing fancy or modern about the place visually, I think its charm lies in its old school charm, down to its tables where you can play Chinese checkers and the fact that the same people have always worked there. I'm amazed at how the price for a pretty big bowl of shaved ice has always stayed cheaper than competitors ($6, no tax) as well.

One of the true OG boba place that started it all back in the mid 90's. It was either crack or boba back then. It's been over 26 years since I've been back and the shaved ice still tastes great and the price is affordable. The owners are nice and I'm glad they are still around.

Tried this place for boba smoothie after seeing 4-star reviews on Yelp. I should've actually read the reviews to make sure they were addressing their smoothies because it was a bit of a disappointment. I also should've listened to my "spidey senses" as the place looked tired and uninviting...but thought some "hole in the wall" places yield some finds. Well, not this place. I ordered the honeydew smoothie with boba and my wife tried their lychee smoothie with boba. I can only surmise that fresh fruit was used because my smoothie tasted like over ripe melons! The watery consistency of the smoothies left much to be desired as well. At least the bobas tasted fresh, which was the only thing we liked. Perhaps the melons weren't in season, but it shouldn't have been an option to order if close to being unpalatable. For an area with plenty of choices for boba smoothies, we chose poorly.

A true local establishment. The mung bean smoothie was so good and refreshing. You are welcomed in by an old couple and it's very casual like in Taiwan. You just get the feeling that their drinks and food is made with love.

LIttle Bean is the OG gold standard for warm boba. They've been doing it for over 20 years. There are a million boba chains that have come and gone and come again, but Little Bean is still standing. I used to play in a basketball league in the area and someone in the league said, "You haven't had the warm boba at Little Bean?" One try and I was hooked. No matter what drink you get, when you grab the bottom of the cup the feeling is the same... The pulsation of warm boba, warm enough that you can feel it through the cup. I usually get mine with standard milk tea or sometimes I ask the owner to customize it and make it a coconut milk tea. Their milk teas strike a good balance of tea flavor and sweet creaminess. I punch my straw in, give it a stir and take a sip. The warm boba effortlessly floats up the straw. I bite and always forget that I don't have to bite that hard. Their boba is super soft but still chewy and gently sweet. I mean super soft. No hard centers. They keep their boba in metal double layer pot that is always warm. It is still my favorite boba ball in SoCal. The store also sells some herbs and Chinese/Taiwanese snacks. They don't have many tables, but Pre-COVID you could find people having their boba drink and eating a few snacks, talking with friends or reading anime. Another very popular item is their shaved ice, simple, traditional Taiwanese style. Not over sugared with flavored syrups. There are plenty of sexier looking milk tea and smoothy drinks at other places, but Little Bean always delivers equally or better without the hype. They use fresh tea and fresh fruits for their smoothies and their drinks are reasonably priced. Thanks for giving me 20+ years of boba goodness!

Ooh I yelped and found this lil mom and pop shop called Little Bean in Rowland Heights. I chose boba which is housemade, rice balls, custard and condense milk for my toppings. Omg this is such a throwback flavor to the old school style and I absolutely loved it. It was only $6.75 for it and it came with 4 topping choices. What a great find for authentic Taiwanese shaved ice! A must try if you're in the area.

You can go to one of those trendy boba chains and get your drinks made by teenagers serving powdered formula, or you can come to Little Bean, a local shop owned by an adorable pair of Taiwanese uncle and auntie whose livelihood depends on this storefront. Little Bean has been around for as long as I can remember. I always stop by whenever I'm in the area to support this mom and pop. My go-to is the Taro smoothie with boba, made with real taro.

They offer a package shipping service to China, and the price is incredibly cheap. It takes about 3 weeks to arrive, but it's not bad at all if you're not in a hurry. The gentleman was kind and accommodating. Highly recommended. :)

In my opinion, the best boba ever. I have been going to this place since the early 90's. They make their own boba. They use fresh fruits rather than powder like other places. Because of that, some seasonal fruits might not be available. The decor and atmosphere might be old school compare to other fancy franchises that popping everywhere but the boba still great. Give it a try and support the local businesses especially during this pandemic era.

Small hole in the wall. Boxes and merchandise everywhere. A few tables Don't expect ambiance here. Very limited menu but good prices. The popcorn chicken was crunchy and very tasty. I bought snow dessert to take home. I chose mango, jelly and taro. It was good but needed more milk and you need to transfer it to a bigger bowl to get to the good stuff.

3.5/5 STARS Order: red milk tea, hot grass jelly, taro smoothie, etc This place used to be my family's go-to boba place growing up; at least until we stopped having boba often haha. I remember my dad putting me on the high stool by the counter because i was too little, and i'd cheekily ask for extra boba in my drink. The aunties back then would smile at me and add more boba (for free heh). I used to love being at the counter and watching them make my family's drink orders. Alas I'm all grown up now and have just started to come back here since it's close by. I tried the hot grass jelly and chose peanuts, taro+sweet potato balls, and red bean as my toppings. While the toppings were good and plentiful, the hot grass jelly didnt have much of a strong grass jelly flavor. I also recently got the tapioca with milky red tea and it was eh. The boba wasnt chewy and the milk tea was too sweet for me. Service is nice but not super friendly or anything over the top. It saddens me that this place isnt what it used to be, at least quality-wise for the boba drinks. Maybe ill come back one more time, but if the quality is going to be like this consistently, then unfortunately i'll have to go elsewhere for my boba fix. I know theyre a mom n pop shop and dont get as busy as other chain boba shops, but i dont want to pay for a drink i didnt enjoy. When it gets hot again, ill try the shaved ice and see if its still as good as before.

my first taste of real boba. i used to come here all the time (late 90s) and get the aiyu jelly with boba. they cooked the tapioca balls to perfection. it was warm soft and chewy just the way its supposed to be. some places undercook the tapioca balls so while it's soft on the outside you still get the hard powder center on the inside which is no bueno but little bean does it right. everything is fresh because they make it in front of you even the aiyu jelly tastes homemade as opposed to canned. Came back years later and had the taro, mango and fresh watermelon juice which was all really good. Can't go wrong with fresh mango and taro fresh fruit in general. service was decent. the workers are friendly which is rare at an asian establishment. As far as I know this isn't a chain so support your local mom and pop shops. They do it right.

Best mango green tea I've ever had hands down! They use real and fresh fruit here unlike other places that flavor their teas with syrup. Little Bean is definitely one of the most underrated boba shops we have here in the 626. The only thing I don't like about this place is the parking. It's located in a super Asian plaza so if you come at a bad time, you'll be fighting with all the Asian moms for a parking spot. Inside this shop, there is a seating area and also a bar for you to sit at to enjoy your drink. Other than the mango green tea, I would also recommend getting the green milk tea, the taste is really refreshing and not too sweet - it kind of reminds me of drinks I had during my childhood. Overall, I love this place and I'll happily choose Little Bean over any other boba shop in the area.

What happened to my favorite boba place? It's been awhile since I've had my usual red bean smoothie with boba and lychee jelly but I still remember what it's suppose to taste like and it was icy and bland today. I also ordered a strawberry smoothie and strawberry banana smoothie and it literally tasted like ice water mixed with fruit juice. Paid so much to get smoothies I'm gonna end up throwing away.

Been coming here for years when we are in the area. Used to live nearby but since we don't anymore we are always happy to come here when we can. Grew up on shaved ice so we love to get the old school Taiwanese shaved ice here.

Come here if you want real fruits, real ingredients, fresh warm boba, made by a cheeky Taiwanese auntie and at a reasonable price. If you order a lychee tea, they'll blend real lychees in, if you order a taro smoothie, they'll use real taros and milk. Most other places makes your drinks with artificial powders, and that's whack. Go to "little bean" instead.

Super tiny mom and pop shop that's open late. We were looking for a good drink place after having dinner at a Korean spot nearby and found this on Yelp. We came in about 30 mins before they closed, so there was no one there. The store is lined with shelves of random Asian snacks and what not. Only a handful of tables for seating. We got their freshly squeezed sugar cane juice & an iced tea. They squeeze the sugar cane on the spot, I thought that was really cool. This was refreshing. The lychee black tea was also good, you can adjust the sweetness. Check in on Yelp for 20% off your purchase. Service is decent.

Drove 20 minutes here for the shaved ice. For some reason, it's getting harder to find the traditional Taiwanese shaved ice (not like all the main stream ones now a days). I honestly just wanted the pink & white rice balls and "oatmeal" (which I think is barley)... and it was definitely worth it. Brought back childhood memories for sure. I'm not sure what the actual shop is for. Is it tea, dessert, random packaged items? Not really sure... Anyways. I'm not sure how this place stays in business, I was the only one sitting at the counter on a Saturday afternoon.. at least enjoying my shaved ice.

Have been going here since it opened - still my favorite boba place (in NY and CA!). May cost a touch more but worth it. Boba is always fresh and chewy and if you like fruit, they use fresh fruit (taro, mango etc). Plus they have a frequent buyer program. Can't beat that!

Cute taiwanese cafe, makes you feel like youre actually in Asia. If not the food, the ambiance of this place makes me want to come hang out late at night. You'll find kids hanging out just shooting the shit and playing games, or an old couple reading the paper. Menu is pretty extensive with drinks, I tried the shaved ice here which is a little bit smaller than a place like Shal May but still decent. The parking here can be a bit difficult during rush hours.

THIS PLACE IS THE CUTEST WHOLE IN THE WALL THAT I HAVE EVER FOUND. This place was quite deceiving because of its appearance but I'm so thankful I still walked in. I got the Taiwanese shaved ice and it was only $5.50! It was so good and we watched them make it right in front of us. This place is ran buy an elderly couple which is so precious and when the lady noticed me coughing because of the cold ice she brought me a cup of warm water to soothe my throat without hesitation. You can really feel the homey vibe from this place! Will definitely be coming back!!

Amazing. Absolutely amazing. I'm from out of town and have not been to such an authentic, family-owned establishment like this since I was in Taiwan. I ordered a Lemon Green Tea, and I was shocked to see they took out a lemon to make it fresh! The tea was of high quality and very refreshing, and there is a lot of frozen food, drink, and shaved ice options. Last but not least, the service was extremely warm and welcoming. Overall, I hope to come here every time I visit Rowland Heights. Thank you, Little Bean!

Absolute best Boba in the area. And for the price, it's a steal! I'm so glad I went to this place before Tan-Cha existed, because I know if there's a huge wait there, I can always fall back on Little Bean and not be disappointed. It seems like most of their ingredients are made in house? Everything tastes so fresh and simple that it must be, right? They sell a bunch of dried goods and nuts that look like it could be processed in house as well. I mean, they have all the machines in the back of the store running and looks pretty legit! A little old lady runs the show, so just sit and be patient. They do take credit cards with 50c fee. Plenty of parking, just be careful because the spots are a little cramped sometimes.

Came here because I was craving black sesame hot dessert on a hot day. Maybe it was my bad to ask for a hot dessert when it was 95 degrees outside. I love everything here except I don't think the AC was on. Their door was wide open so it was a bit uncomfortable to sit there while waiting for my order to come. I literally took the bowl and sat in my car with the AC blowing in order to finish it. The dessert itself was very good. I added taro and sweet potato balls in it. The portion was big enough for two people to share. I will definitely come back again and try other desserts.

I loved this place. The service was great and the drinks were great. While the service part still holds true, I've been pretty disappointed with the drinks lately. I've had several drinks from them the past two months and I've got to say...it didn't really taste like how I remembered it to be. The green milk tea is still good, but the boba has been really soft and mushy the past few times :( And not only one time, but a COUPLE of times. I wish the boba here could be more consistent. Service is really great and I love the owner lady for her friendliness. They definitely could switch up their menu a little bit since they weren't able to make a wintermelon milk tea for me here, since they were not aware of how to make it. Other than that, still a decent place to grab a boba drink if you don't want to wait in a line (ahem, Half & Half).

I wanted to update since my last review from 7 years ago lol. Currently, I like this place because they have the best price on milk tea with boba! I think this is the only place in 2020 where you can get a milk tea with boba for less than $4, which is a steal compared to most places that charge $5.50 - $6! If you're used to milk teas that are milkier and have a much stronger tea flavor like Half and Half's, the milk tea here will taste a bit watered down. But this is just my opinion and some people might prefer this taste. The boba is soft and fresh here though and the price is so affordable I can totally live with it. I also like to support this place because it seems they're a small mom and pop and not a large franchise like alot of other more popular milk tea places. It doesn't have the "trendy" feel of some other boba places so it doesn't seem to get as much business from young people who like to sit and hang out. However, it has a cute, cozy, old-school atmosphere. They make a variety of drinks and desserts including traditional Taiwanese-style shaved ice. They also have a store section that sells a variety of Taiwanese snacks.

Been in this plaza since I can remember, more than 20+ years, if I remember correctly. We used to come to Little Bean for boba way before all the other milk tea joints opened up, Half & Half, Phoenix, and other locations nearby. They have Taiwanese drinks and snacks. During the summer, it seems a majority of the customers go in for shaved ice. It's a small, quaint location and the staff are friendly. There are no restrooms for customer use so one would need to use the ones in the food court. Parking spots here are exceptionally tight, but it is an Asian plaza so it is to be expected. Parking can be limited as well with the amount of restaurants here in the plaza and depending on the time of day you are there.

Little Bean is one of my favorite boba spots in SGV. It is a super tiny, mom & pop hole in the wall boba joint. They sell a bunch of random snacks and have only a few small tables. Plaza it is located in is always busy so parking is a pain. Service is nice and friendly. Yelp check in gets you 20% off. Boba Milk Green Tea, small - $3.20 - Clean and simple boba milk tea. Not to milky or sweet. Boba is fresh and perfectly chewy. You can adjust your sweetness level. They have green boba!

I was surprised to see Little Bean as it was a place I used to frequent in my high school and early college days (and that was a long time ago). Nothing has changed much. A few tables, random things for sale (like dried Taiwanese snacks and household goods), and a tea/snack menu that will take a few minutes to peruse. This review is based on three items that I recently tried: popcorn chicken, honey green tea with grass jelly, and shaved ice with taro, black sesame balls, grass jelly, and boba The shaved ice was pretty good as it had ample amounts of everything I requested. I especially liked the taro as it was flavorful and sweet. The black sesame balls tasted pretty good too. The boba lacked flavor - I guess I'm spoiled with all the flavored boba in the 626. The grass jelly was disappointing. It tasted like it was from 99 Ranch out of a can. This also led to a disappointing honey green tea with grass jelly. The tea lacked the expected bitter flavor from a high quality tea and the grass jelly, as previously stated, was disappointing. The popcorn chicken was acceptable, but nothing to rave about and I've had better at other Taiwanese tea shops. I'm sad to write only a 3-star review for Little Bean considering the friendly service and clean store. I do recall from many years ago that the boba milk tea here was pretty good, but my review is based on what I ordered a few days ago. When I'm in the area again, I'll consider this place again and I try some other items.

Come here for their soft and chewy boba balls!! Love the texture!! Strawberry juice smoothie with boba is my favorite. I used to come in and order their delicious milk tea as a teenager way back when, but then I later developed an intolerance to lactose so I could not handle the milk anymore! Boo!! The boba here really has a homemade taste - you'll like it. In addition to boba tea drinks, Little Bean has traditional Taiwanese style shaved ice with simple options to choose from, and the cafe/store also sells a variety of Asian candies, dried fruits, medicines, & other speciality items. Service is great ! I forgot whether they have public restrooms , but there are a few tables for guests to sit and eat/drink.

This is a nice ma & pop shop. Little Bean isn't a separate cafe location as it is located in a Chinese market where you can buy products such as herbs, spices, dried foods, and what not. So this isn't really a place for you to chill and hang with friends like other boba places. My friend and I came here for some drinks after dinner. He told me that his coworkers have mentioned a place that makes delicious Durian smoothies. So we decided to check this out. I'm not much of a Durian fan, but my friend LOVES the fruit. So he got the Durian smoothie and I opted for the green milk tea. My drink was refreshing but in terms of flavor, I've had better. But my friend really enjoyed his Durian smoothie. The lady who made our drinks is really nice and has great customer service skills. If anyone loves Durian, then I recommend this place. Parking is easy too.

This review is only for their SHAVED ICE! I wanted some Taiwanese shaved snow and since I wasn't familiar with the area, I went to the closest dessert shop to Chengdu Taste (where I just ate) and gave it a shot. When I walked in I was surprised to find a modest/traditional boba shop that sold other items such as tea eggs and items you would find at the market like tea oil and sun dried noodles. I expected a cutesy modern kind of shop but I was cool with this too as long as they knew what they were doing. What was disappointing was that they didn't specialize in shaved snow (fluffy creamy layered snow) as it was nonexistent here, instead they had shaved ice (crunchy ice bits). So I went for the mango shaved ice ($5 w/check in offer) which was made fairly quickly and then we paid after we received it. Since there were 3 tables in the store we claimed one of them as ours to enjoy our treat! There was plenty of snow ice to be split along 3 people. However, it was tadbit too sweet because it was drenched with condensed milk and brown sugar syrup so the consistency was crunchy-soupy on the bottom and crunchy-hard on top. There was plenty of mango bits evenly distributed within the layers of ice which I liked since most places usually just plop the toppings on top. The mango bits were sweet but not fresh and interesting enough they were translucent. Overall, the shaved ice was mediocre in every way but very refreshing on a hot day in the Inland Empire.
