Seattle’s New Restaurant Openings - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Our favorite butcher shop/restaurant hybrid Beast & Cleaver has quietly opened its new English pub on Ballard Avenue. It’s open with limited seating at the moment, but hours and reservations should expand soon. Expect things like scotched eggs, meat pies, puddings, and other traditional London pub food. There will also be cooking and butchery classes in the space." - kayla sager riley, gabe guarente, aimee rizzo

The 16 Best Restaurants In Ballard - Seattle - The Infatuation

"On the inside, this thoroughly British outpost of Beast & Cleaver appears to be a garden variety pub—but it's much more than that. The butchery roots come through by way of a spicy lamb korma pie drenched in gravy that looks like melted coffee ice cream and tastes like Sunday night. Or arguably the greatest pork chop of late, with a blowtorched-like char calmed by savory jus and grilled nectarines. Between the presence of scotched eggs, a soundtrack of sing-along rock classics, and a staff eager to dole out bonus gravy pours, Little Beast fits in effortlessly among Ballard’s lowkey special occasion scene." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley

Nice ambiance, all the wait staff were super friendly and attentive. We went hungry and left very full. We went on a Sunday and it was a limited Sunday roast menu but that was OK with us. Best deal in town for a British Sunday roast ;) We got one of each roasts and a scotched egg. Everything was delicious. I really enjoyed the crispness of the scotch egg and a perfect runny yolk. For the roast, I preferred the beef over the pork but just my preference. I’m excited to come back and try a more expansive menu. The cocktails were also very good. It would be cool to see them collaborate with Machine House brewery and serve some cask ales.

They’re not kidding about how amazing the pie is! The menu also offers plenty of starters, steaks, and other options. I’m in love with the heirloom tomatoes — so simple and delicious. Excited to see what additional sides they’ll introduce to the menu.

The food is amazing here, come early and get the meat pie. But if you can't make it for the 40 they sell, I think the scotch eggs are really good as well. For drinks I liked the corpse reviver. Mr Kevin Smith was there as well and we had a really pleasant conversation. It's always lovely to be able to see everybody work right in front of you! I saw them making and taste testing some steak tartare which was nice and surprising.

Stopped by on a sunny Friday afternoon for a quick nip and was seated immediately at the bar. Really fantastic food - every bite was delicious - service was also excellent. Can’t wait to go back and get the full dinner experience! Really fits the neighborhood well and looking forward to many future hangs there

As a fan of Beast & Cleaver, The Beastro, and The Peasant; we were very excited to try the Little Beast. While there were a few hiccups, all-in-all, we had a fantastic Saturday dinner from start to finish. Also, being recently opened, I was expecting a few things to be slightly in-the-works. Starting with the bread and butter, sausage roll, and scotched egg, we were off to a very satisfying start. Sausage roll above expectations, and the scotched egg paired wonderfully with the pickled nectarine. For mains, we were a bit disappointed that pies were already out by 7.30 on a Saturday, and our backup option of pork belly was also out, but luckily, the last remaining entree option of pork chop, did not disappoint. The sides of fries with garum mayo, and the yorkshire pudding, were also great, so we had no complaints once the food was out. Also, kudos to Nelson and team for the wine list. Concise but solid throughout, and appreciated everything being available by the glass. The mència we had was served way too warm, but otherwise, the wines we tried were stunning from chard to pinot to Pollard. While it'd be easy to criticize the things that weren't perfect, it was still a 5-star experience thanks to the delicious food and thought put into every dish, so we'll be back for Sunday roast in August. For my constructive feedback: - I hope there'll be cask ale eventually; that's what I miss most about british pubs. - the service was good initially at seating and initial orders, but got inattentive mid-meal. Took a long time to get attention to get a second glass of wine, which I was patiently waiting for to amplify my pork chop. - not sure about the red wine storage solution used when it's hot out, but the red wine temp by glass was very inconsistent, so hoping the reds will drop a few degrees by next visit. Nonetheless, you did it again, and looking forward to coming back and seeing the evolution.

Little Beast, a cozy neighborhood gem, instantly makes you feel at home with its inviting atmosphere. Its simple yet delicious menu focuses on using only the finest ingredients. The rich and indulgent dishes, with perfectly rendered fat on roasted meats and rich, savory sauces, are not light fare. The prices reflect the quality of ingredients and kitchen skill. Little Beast is an amazing restaurant for a truly satisfying, high-quality comfort food meal. It’s a treat and highly recommended for special occasions or serious cravings.

If you're looking for that one restaurant that won't ask how you want your steak--because they already know how to make it perfect--don't miss this new Ballard pub. For the fans of Beast & Cleaver who've been lucky enough to snag one of their legendary Friday sandwiches, the new place - "The Little Beast" - needs no introduction. These folks know exactly what they're doing. It's the best of the British/Indian cuisine fusion, with some seriously delicious pickles, and gravy that tastes like an adventure.
