I was lucky enough to been brought here for a work event. Truly a hidden gem. It’s a great space for events and they do really great work in the community. We enjoyed an afternoon lunch while being able to explore the art and shortly after make our own team art. I’ve never experienced this particular type of team event but I’m quite happy I did. Not only was I able to connect with team members that I normally wouldn’t be able to share my every day space with but I left with the best piece of art. I would definitely recommend this space and would love to find myself back here.

We had our staff Christmas Party here the space is beautiful but the employees are rude. Was greeted with rudeness. The lady with the blonde hair rushed us to leave. I won't be back.

My job had our Christmas party there the lady in all black was rushing us to get out her staff was eating our food and it was too hot and we had to turn our music down to accommodate NBC… also the girl with the blonde hair had a nasty attitude very rude and unprofessional never again will we book them…..

This space is one of the most gorgeous spaces I've seen in awhile. The membership is worth every penny. The food is excellent and the staff is hospitable. What a beautiful pillar in the bronzeville community.

If I could give the LBP 10 stars, I would! We recently hosted an event at LBP for 40 of our students and families to celebrate our Debaters accomplishments this year. It was absolutely perfect. The aesthetic and space is amazing - such beautiful art on the walls and design. The food was also incredible. Pia and her team worked with us to create the most special evening. Pia went above and beyond to make sure every detail was thought through and taken care of. We will be back for future events! Thank you so much LBP team.

I live just under a mile from this place but I hardly ever visit. It's out of my way kind of, but also as someone with no kids, I don't have much reason to visit either. There are classes with computers for kids, due to generous grants, and a camp. I have been to the venue when they host the Hyde Park Jazz Festival, and it's awesome! The wide open spaces complement music and art, and may be available for rent. We got a nice, dimly lit tour of the grounds examining art work and classrooms. The center celebrates the Silver Anniversary (25 Years!) in August. Check the website for when and where. The Bronzeville Trolley tour has dates in July, August and September so there's still time to visit. I have not visited the Carver Cafe (As in George Washington Carver) in a while, but next time I'm in the area I will pay them a visit.

A woman starts teaching art classes to local kids in her basement. 14 years later she has a $10 million building totaling 40,000 square feet! I've been hearing how magnificent the space is and I finally got a chance to check it out. It's pretty remarkable when you think about its humble beginnings. I wish they had more in their store but the stuff they do have is pretty cool. I really dig that they sell products made my Enterprising Kitchen, another great NFP in Chicago. I took some pics, check 'em out! **And while you're in the 'hood, drive north on Oakenwald from 47th. The houses are freaking amazing! If Chicago gets the Olympics, this neighborhood will blow up.

Really cool space. The Atrium is well lit and modern. The art work is pretty awesome. The bathrooms have glass bowl sinks. It's really pretty inside. Go, take a peak. They even have a upper deck. And the Cafe is a MUST try and not just for the food but also for its art. Gone head Bronzeville! Do me proud Black Owned Business

Yes, the story of this place is great, but it took weeks to get someone to answer emails or the phone to schedule a date. Then, they leave early the next day before I can pick up the paperweight I made. Calls and emails placed over WEEKS and MONTHS were ignored, even though there was an option to get what I made shipped - to this date I've received no response. I'm pretty sure what I created was sold off by the owner. Unbelievable lack of communication makes this a 1-star experience.

Amazing space for teaching children art, holding lecture series, putting on gallery exhibitions, and much more. I happened to be driving by when the sign for 'cafe' caught my eye; I stopped in and found so much more than a decent mug of espresso. I had a short chat with the woman running the place and was really impressed by her drive and vibe (and she made one hell of a cookie!). I definitely intend to head back in the future for more events; I was sad that I had to miss the Jazz Festival that they were putting on the week I was there, but I know there will be many more great things from the Little Black Pearl.

What a cool place. I went here last night for a surprise birthday party. I've driven past the place a few times but never really stopped in. This place is so nice and modern. We had a room for the sit down dinner and then another room with a dj and dancing. I was very impressed with the facility. Ideal for a party or wedding reception.

Beautiful place for any event! Attended a wedding reception here this past Saturday, it was gorgeous! I had no idea what to expect, as i had never been here before. It was spacious, clean, and i just LOVED the balcony. So glad this one belongs to the South Side!

I had my 40th birthday party here and it was wonderful. The staff was helpful and kept just the right amount of distance. The space was nice had a really hip vibe and perfect space for dancing the night away. I might use the larger space for my daughter's sweet sixteen party in the spring.

I went here for the Chicago Naturals swap meet. I like the space here. It's good for events. It can be tailored for small events or somewhat large events. They have an upstairs but I stayed on the main floor. I didn't really venture much but from what I saw it's pretty cool.

It is a nice place for an event. I went there when the founders of Miss Jessie's Pudding were doing hair demonstrations. The venue was big, however I believe they underestimated the crowd of people that were coming that day because me and my cousin literally stood in line for 2 hrs on a hot ass day in July. Once we got in, we got in...so not a bad venue, just need to plan spacing better for larger groups.
