"Little Chinatown on Williams Boulevard near the airport offers a massive menu of darn good traditional Chinese fare. Get the salt and pepper wings or try the roast duck, a somewhat rare find at most New Orleans Chinese spots. The pancakes are bun style, not the thin kind, but very good. Avoiding fried? Try the chicken lettuce wraps, a light dish that satisfies." - Beth D'Addono, Clair Lorell

"A fixture on Williams since 2010, this family-owned Chinese restaurant offers traditional and outside-the-box authentic cuisine. For starters, this is one of the few places that offers roasted duck, a two-course feast that can easily feed three. Beyond the fried rice, kung pao, and lo mein, Chinatown offers the likes of conch with ginger and scallions and duck congee with preserved egg." - Beth D'Addono

"Love this friendly Kenner Chinese restaurant, with hard to find dishes like congee and whole Peking duck on menu. Little Chinatown also serves traditional pan fried and steamed pork dumplings, along with a tasty dumpling soup, swimming with dumplings stewed with a mix of pork, shrimp, mushrooms, and scallions." - Beth D'Addono, Clair Lorell

So many good reviews but my experience wasn’t good tried to call and order someone picked up the phone and hung up and declined my calls I go in and order a combination fried rice the place wasn’t busy had two tables dining in paid $15 for combination rice got home not a shrimp in site

My bff told me about this restaurant. I have been here twice and have been highly satisfied both times. I have tried many options here and all are good; from the soups to the noodles. Employees are attentive. Food is loaded with flavor and prices are reasonable. There are large tables if one is dining with a large party; gratuity is added to large parties. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant. The best in Kenner/ Metairie!

Their staff is wonderful and smile all the time. Lunch special is good value deal, come with the soup and egg roll… Love their spicy eggplant beef , yummy

Google
Been here a few times and the quality of their ingredients is what makes this place the best Chinese food in the area. Do yourself a favor and order here! The staff is wonderful and the food is consistently good ✅✅✅

Google
The food here has always been really good for me. I love the fried rice whether with shrimp or veggie and my go to is the general tso chicken. Usually everything goes well. As far as the service today they messed up I ordered gen tso and wanted veggie fried rice with it instead of the pork one. The charged me for egg fried rice instead and gave a smaller portion than I usually get. All tasted good but I doidint get what I asked for.

Google
Very disappointing visit. Will not return. Ordered Pepper Steak with white rice. Received a plate full of onions with 3 pieces of veg and about 10 pieces of meat. Also, automatic 20% tip was added to our card payment. Unacceptable.

I like salt and pepper pork chops. They're great. My go-to Chinese restaurant.

Yelp
'Little Chinatown' is a fantastic Asian restaurant on Williams Blvd in Kenner. Their appetizers, soups (Hong Kong soup is my fav), eggrolls, etc are great. The delicious Roasted Peking Duck which many restaurants don't carry this as it's a complex cooking technique, but they do it here. Chili Pepper Gulf Shrimp is spicy at just the right amount. I also like the Salt & Pepper Pork Chop is tasty with Asian flavors, so it's really not just S&P type of chop. I've brought different groups of friends and family and all love it. My father is very picky when he eats out and he really likes it, so it must be good. Ha! Restaurant is clean, bathrooms too and the waiters are always friendly. I often get take out from here and the owner/manager runs the register where you pick up food and she is always so welcoming and thankful you're there.

Yelp
Saturday afternoon solo "Chinese food fix" after the lunch rush at this quiet, unassuming location. Not much on atmosphere, but clean and open. Drink order taken and diet soda put in a to go cup as requested. Order taken without rush, since I needed to peruse the menu. Crab rangoons were very good, and 5 was more than plenty. Not the usual thin skinned bent variety; tasty. Ordered Beef Chow Fun, dry (not in a soup). Delivered just after the rangoons, which was fine, since the meal could cool to eating temp. LOTS of food! The beef had a nice grilled back flavor, and very few veggies - I think I found sprouts and onions in it? - and tons of noodles. YUM! I didn't have to add any seasoning to the dish. Took home quite a few leftovers. Check was brought with to go box, plastic bag and fortune cookie. Would totally return.

Yelp
I got food poisoning from this place I wouldn't recommend this restaurant at all I had the shrimp fried rice

Kaci L.

Yelp
My hubby and I shared a hot & sour soup (not pictured) but it was delicious! He had the fried rice and curry chicken and I had the beef and broccoli. A The food was hot, fresh, and flavorful. The portions or generous so you will have enough for lunch tomorrow. The servers were very attentive. I'm glad we choose to eat her tonight!

Yelp
Little Chinatown is my favorite Chinese food in the Metairie/Kenner area. The food is always ready super quick and is very reasonably priced for the great quality that it is.

Yelp
We were referred to this place by someone and it was absolutely delicious! The portions were nice and everything was great! I have no complaints! The prices are good as well! Austin was a great server! Was very insightful and helpful. Definitely would recommend!

Yelp
Chinese food is one of fav's and maybe being able to get some of the best Chinese food in l.a. & Orange County California spoiled me but this was not it. Would have have it 0 stars if could. The shrimp was overcooked, sesame chicken was dry, not just a little saucy and the chicken fried rice was blah. When I come back for work, they won't get my money again .

Alexander C.

Yelp
No egg rolls when I even payed for it Sweat and sour chicken is no good no flavor They need to check every to go order make sure every order has everything people PAY for.disappointed

Alissa A.

Yelp
The food was great, we had the crab rangoons, sesame chicken w pork fried rice, and chicken lo mein. Everything was delicious, and came out steaming, but somehow the food was not hot. The building is ICE cold, we were shivering. I would come back here for take out instead of dining in. Really good food! Service was not great though, but fine enough.

Kim T.

Yelp
Our go to Chinese takeout spot. Dry chow fun and salted fish are the best. Everything comes out fast and delicious.

Marybet V.

Yelp
Its was great before Covid, the food has lost its flavor, hot and sour soup has no veggies or meat in it. The potstickers are OK, but everything pretty much taste the same on the menu if you're getting the lunches. It was definitely better three years ago We still go, but we order differently I don't know if the staff has changed or they changed chefs but it's not the same.

Lil H.

Yelp
This is a new favorite to stop by whenever I'm picking someone up at the airport. Recently enjoyed Pad Thai, eggplant, and salt & pepper oysters, shared with a friend. Delicious and food enough left over for several more meals.

Ashley E.

Yelp
This place is our favorite for Chinese take out. We drive out from old metairie it's that good.

Lindsey B.

Yelp
Delicious crab rangoons, the best wonton soup and the shrimp fried rice knocks it out of the park. I will come here for the rest of my life. Everything is SO GOOD! It's hard to find a Chinese restaurant where EVERYTHING is delicious. This place checks off all the boxes!

Wilfredo D.

Yelp
Ordered thru phone, takes about 20 minutes to finish. 20 minutes later came to pay for my order to go, waited about 10-15 minutes to finish. When I'm about to get my order , they got the wrong name. So I have to pay again (assuming they voided the first payment I did), waited another 15 minutes to finish. All I get is sorry. WOW!!!!!

Scarlett M.

Yelp
My first time here. I tend to be an adventurous eater, so I hone in on unusual menu options. I was torn between the congee and the clay pot dishes. I ended up choosing the duck and taro clay pot dish. This was a mistake. Did it taste good? Yes. Did it look good? There was no clay pot like the name implies, but the presentation with the little flame underneath was cute. So why two stars? The duck was not very meaty, and it was butchered in such a way that every piece included a significant amount of bone and/or rubbery skin. I could not figure out a polite way to eat it in public. I picked out some of the taro to eat, but ultimately boxed up most of the food to take home. I also made a point to tell the staff that the difficulty posed by the duck was why I was having to take most of my food to-go. While I wasn't expecting a comped meal - I was taking most of it home after all - I had hoped they would maybe offer a little bowl of soup or an egg roll or something. I paid over $15 and ended up leaving hungry.

Yelp
Parking lot was full when I got there. Drove around the block. Got back to the parking lot parking lot was full. I went in 3/4 full. I sat in a booth. Portions are huge and very good. I highly recommend it and I plan on driving from the lakefront bra to Kenna brah for good food.

Louise C.

Yelp
The food too salty, every order is dark I don't know that is food color supposed and too much oily

Whitney A.

Yelp
I use to eat here all the time and it's still good for a quick run in. Food is cheap, servings are nice sized and service is typically nice. They're also pretty quick and the food is always fresh. My only issue is the food isn't seasoned at all so it doesn't taste like much.

Linda R.

Yelp
No manager on premises. Five of us went for lunch. Four of us got our meals 20 minutes before the last one. When we complained that's when we were told that the person they said was the manager was not. They had to call the manager to get the ok to comp the meal that came later. They said they could only give her a 20% discount. When we told them that was not the way to do business they got really rude. I will definitely not be going back because I didn't find the food good enough to put up with all the problems and especially the rudeness.

Reia B.

Yelp
The best Chinese food in Kenner. Any Chinese dish your heart desires. This authentic Chinese restaurant offers enough food to share with the family. They actually have family seating with the turntables, I've seen many Asian families in the restaurant sitting at those tables enjoying their meal. When I visit, I must order the crab ragoons, spring rolls, and egg drop soup. My mother now gets the egg rolls. As an entree, our go to is the honey or orange chicken that comes with fried rice, a spring roll, and a cup of egg drop soup if you visit during lunch. I am always satisfied when I leave this restaurant. A nice little gem in Kenner. Until we meet again!

Cletus S.

Yelp
Food was very good. Everything me and my wife ordered was a solid 8.5/10. We will definitely be back when she is way too lazy to cook . The service provided was mediocre. One of the servers seemed very rude and NONCHALANT. He didn't seem to be enjoying his time serving us. Not sure of his name but he had a dry curly bush and kinda short for a man. Son you should wear a smile on your face sometimes . The ambiance just felt off. The scenery is lifeless and doesn't really attract me to the place. Also the parking is very complicated and should be looked into. Other than that the actually food was good and the cooks did a very good job. I will be back.

Yelp
I moved here from NY and was looking for a place that could satisfy all my Chinese food cravings that I loved, like walnut shrimp. This place does it. I crave it all the time! The service is amazing, the portions are generous, it feels homey. It's everything when I need comfort.

Richard J.

Yelp
6/30/2023 - After a 3 1/2 hour drive, this meal was a wonderful treat!!! The chicken was cooked to perfection and the rice was flavorful. Also, the customer service was really good. They were really polite. Next time I want to dine-in and enjoy the atmosphere. Thank You!

KimVan N.

Yelp
Food is good most of the time but there was one time I went that it was unappetizing. I recommend the dumpling noodle soup or wonton soup( add roast duck or pork for protein) really delicious. As everything else. Price could be a little pricey for chinese food but some of their menu items can't be ordered anywhere else. Or at least none that I know of.

Lauren F.

Yelp
I really like it here. The service is very good. On the relatively busy Saturday night I was there, it was a few older teenagers who were doing a great job working together and serving folks. According to my first generation Chinese American friend, this place is pretty close to authentic depending on what you order. I enjoyed the seafood and tofu clay pot served with a side of white rice. Worth the trip from the city or before or after an airport run.

Imani H.

Yelp
The female manager is the worst!!! She is so rude and lack customer service. We ordered a huge to go order and they forgot several meals. We went back to get them and they told us we are lying. Don't go here!

Maegan B.

Yelp
My husband and I have ordered from here twice and both times were really good. First visit was mandarin chicken with combo rice and orange chicken. The orange chicken was good but a little zesty for me, the lo mein was different from most lo mein but delicious and hubby loved the mandarin chicken. We also got an order of crab rangoons and they were terrible there was barely any cream cheese. Tonight I got the honey chicken and he got the same as last time. They're consistently good, the honey chicken was good. It is a little pricey though, tonight was $33 for two plates.

Meghan B.

Yelp
I would not recommend Little Chinatown. I ordered wonton soup. The cashier questioned my order when I picked it up. I confirmed that it did come with wontons, noodles and vegetables at the time of pick up. As you can see in the picture, the green garnish was considered vegetables. The order did not come with wontons. I called the restaurant and since I was not able to leave work for a second time to bring it physically back to them, there was nothing they were willing to do. I would not recommend based on the value of the product and the customer service.

Nhu H.

Yelp
On the outside it doesn't look like much but don't be fooled. I wouldn't say that this is the best Chinese food I've ever eaten at but it does the job considering how limited Chinese food is in the New Orleans/Kenner/Metairie area. I've definitely had better and had worse. The food here is very cheap and portions are pretty big. They have a pretty extensive menu. When my boyfriend and I went on a Saturday afternoon there were a few Asian families there eating so I'd say it's pretty authentic Chinese food. There were also a lot of people ordering take out. I had the kung pao chicken and my boyfriend had the sweet and sour pork. Pretty good. I just wish the kung pao chicken had more of a spicy kick to it. Ample parking space in the front. Clean on the inside.

D S.

Yelp
My favorite dish is the mandarin chicken. Great place to stop for lunch or dinner. Young attentive staff provide excellent service. They have great fried rice and I love the wonton soup.

Heather B.

Yelp
My family and I went to Little Chinatown for dinner and I must say that their food is really good! We had sweet & sour chicken, steamed vegetables, lo mein, potstickers, and even a customized version of their pan fried jumbo shrimp. I highly recommend trying this place for really good, authentic Chinese cuisine! And the staff is great, friendly, and fast

Jenna M.

Yelp
The first time I heard about this restaurant was years ago and I was told it was much more authentic then other Chinese restaurants. I agree after eating there since they offer specials others do not such as seafood and poultry dishes. I stick to the typical Americanized dishes, but my friend enjoyed a more authentic soup. The Mongolian beef is delicious but good for onion lovers only. I used to get a spicy chicken dish I don't think they have it anymore but all their chicken dishes are good. I love that they give you a rice bowl when dining. Always excellent staff and friendly. Try them out!

Christopher W.

Yelp
Kenner has become a hot spot for ethnic food and one of the oldest Chinese restaurants in the area is still one of the best. When you walk in and you see Chinese eating Chinese you know its legit. I ordered the honey chicken which was the best honey chicken I have had around NOLA. This is def the spot for Chinese in the Kenner area.

Clint W.

Yelp
My first time visiting Little Chinatown was for an early dinner during the week. It was not much to look at (not usually why you visit Chinese restaurants, anyway), but was clean and well kept (looks like an old Pizza Hut building). We were promptly greeted and seated. We started with the crab Rangoons and they were wonderful. I had the walnut shrimp and wife had eggplant and shrimp and we split a shrimp fried rice. All the food was top notch and service was spot on. I think we've found a new go to for our Chinese food.

Joe N.

Yelp
Words can't describe how disgusted I am with the staff and environment of this restaurant. To start off right when we walked in the door, there was a dead cockroach on the ground. When we ordered to go and I handed the cashier the money she rudely snatched it from me. As if this wasn't enough, our food was ready and they did not bring it to us or even tell us it was ready so we just sat there waiting wasting our time. The restaurant was not even busy either, maybe 5 tables at most with at least 4-5 waiters. I will NOT be coming back here and I advise you to not come here either. Spend your money and time elsewhere.

Thomas V.

Yelp
This WAS one of the best Chinese restaurants in New Orleans. Lots of recent changes in personnel in the house, and obviously in the kitchen have changed this restaurant dramatically. So very sad to see such a drastic drop in quality of cuisine. Hope they are able to come back.

Patrick K.

Yelp
Usually great food. Went Friday, June 30, 2023 for dinner. Food and service were terrible. Very big disappointment!

Julia K.

Yelp
Since new owners have taken over, the food has steadily gone downhill. Portions are smaller and the food tastes different. Sad because it was so good. I added shrimp to my fried rice and got five small shrimp and had to pay $2.95 That is beyond ridiculous. After coming here for years, I won't be back. The last several times have been inconsistent. I gave it a shot several times.

Imani M.

Yelp
Service is great, food average. Nice, clean and quiet. Go a few times a year! Staff really work together to make you comfortable.

Carman S.

Yelp
Excellent food and excellent service . First time trying this restaurant and we were very impressed. We had some questions about items on the menu and the servers were very patient in answering questions. Authentic Chinese items were on the menu and we tried the snow pea shoots. They were delicious! We also tried a fish stew which was wonderful. On a Friday night every table was taken and the kitchen still got the food out fast and hot!

Cmlmonstar 0.

Yelp
I go there plenty of times and they offer Chinese dishes that other Chinese restaurants don't offer like the Duck dumpling soup and it's pretty tasty.

John B.

Yelp
It's probably the best you could expect for Chinese on the outskirts of New Orleans suburbia. They have a small vegetable selection, and when I ordered, the staff seemed less confident in it than I was. The house tofu arrived quickly with mixed vegetables and a fairly unexciting sauce. The chili oil offered on the side (which I got a second serving of after I exhausted the first) improved matters. They offer boba smoothies either with fresh fruit ingredients or powdered; I think fresh was a pretty obvious choice and I received a very full and delicious strawberry mango smoothie, although it could have used a tad more tapioca pearls. All told, it was a lot of food and good enough that I'd return if I was in the area, but not so much that I'd go any distance for it.

Randy L.

Yelp
A long time ago I was told if you see a lot of people dining and for a a Chinese restaurant, a lot of Chinese people dining, then you know it's good. I have been to here a few times over the years and this axiom is true---this is a good restaurant with good food and service ---I am constantly amazed at the take out business this place receives---and quite often the take out is for families wanting 4-5 entrees as opposed to the single diner. And there have always been people at multiple tables---our most recent visit we ordered the beef chow fun, chicken chow mein and the tofu seafood hot pot----beef chow fun is a winner and will get again. The chow mein was good--better than most places--but not 100% Chinese authentic--and something I want to try again. The tofu seafood clay pot was a little bland and I would choose a different clay pot entree next time. But overall all hits, just as it has been each time I have dined here. Being that months go by --perhaps years--between my visits it's possible I do not remember, but each time I think there's different staff however each time the staff has been polite, informative and attentive---which is all positive for the dining experience.

Germaine D.

Yelp
Best Chinese food in the area! Chili Chicken is amazing. Great egg rolls. Only one recommendation would be to have more filling in the crab ragoons.

McKenzie M.

Yelp
You definitely need to go here. The food is SO GOOD! the portions are so good for what you're paying for! They have literally everything! I recommend the kung pao chicken with low mein noodles! anything you get here is definitely top notch. I've been going here since 2018 and it's always been amazing food and kind staff! Lovely place to go!

Phil P.

Yelp
Great service, better food. It's been a hot pandemic minute since I came in and sat down, but the food is as good as ever and the portions as generous. To commemorate coming out of my pandemic shell, I tried something new today--orange chicken. It was awesome. I had a little food envy as my wife ate our usual General Tso's and I was accommodating our toddler with my plate--and my egg roll--but she shared a couple bites with me and I was surprised to discover that I didn't want it more than my orange chicken! So we can expand the dishes I recommend to include Wonton Soup, Pork Fried Rice, Sweet & Sour Pork, General Tso's AND Orange Chicken. They added a dollar to the Lunch Special since the last time I was here, but I'm not complaining--that's less than inflation, so we tipped big for the service that was blinding fast today for us and the table of 10 next to us with 4 kids. Still awesome.

Mercedes M.

Yelp
My husband is still ranting and raving about this place. He told me every time we are around Williams Blvd we will get food there. We had duck with sweet potato's it was served from a dish that was lite, fire came out the bottom. The servant was so nice and very attentive. We most definitely will come back again.
