"The expansion-minded brand that lets diners curate their own steaming creations is headed to Fairfax’s Mosaic District this fall. The new 2,000-square-foot restaurant is shooting to open in the next two months next to BGR The Burger Joint. It will have seating for up to 65 guests. Little Dipper, which has two locations in Falls Church, Va. and Rockville, Md., offers gyoza and fried spring rolls to start, followed by a diverse lineup of $13.99 hot pot options. The communal eating experience features eight kinds of 'dippers' — including tomato, miso, curry, and veggie broth flavors — each accompanied by a long list of ingredients like cabbage and mushrooms. Diners can dictate the spice level and pick their preferred proteins and whether the bowl comes with rice or noodles." - Tierney Plumb

Attended their grand opening event. Lots of people helped celebrate their 3rd location. First time at any Little Dipper restaurant. Unique concept for a restaurant. Typically for hot pot, consumers place raw ingredients into the pot of broth to cook. This restaurant individualizes the hot pot experience by pre-cooking the hot pot for you. Lots of pre-set choices for protein and for vegetables. In additon, you select rice, vermicelli, or glass noodles with your hot pot. Lastly you select your level of spiciness. In short, there is a perfect balance of preset and individualized selections for a great and unusual dining experience. You won't be disappointed.

Little Dipper is delicious! It’s the first place I go when I come for a visit! The hotpot selection is great and it nice to try something new each time!

Just stopped by after I saw this had opened last week. I am personally accustomed to a more traditional hot pot where you cook the food before eating but this was a very pleasant change! I got the Mala Dipper (spicy) on happy hour special that included a green (or black) iced tea, veggie or pork spring roll and the dipper meal. I was blown away by how delicious and simple the green tea was. Not too sweet, a hint of lavander maybe? and completely refreshing. Honestly some of the best green tea I've ever had. The pork spring roll was just as delicious and the sauce that accompanied it was equally phenomenal! The dipper meal came out in a nice styled hot pot with a timed burning material that burns out after a while so your pot isn't always boiling. A great touch to allow your food to cool down after a period of time. The veggies in the dish were delicious and the broth was the perfect amount of spicy. It seemed like everything in the bowl perfectly accompanied and absorbed the flavor of the broth. Will definitely be coming back to try some more dishes and highly recommend trying.

Service was super slow as people called out sick. They tried hard to keep up. We picked this place because they had separate pots for everyone at the table, which helped with my mil being allergic to seafood & the rest of us not wanting to give it up. However, they pre-cooked the food, which not only took way too long (we waited over an hr for food to be served) but it defeats the whole purpose of hot pot, which is to cook your own food. I see other posters talking about the meat being served separately. That's the way it should've been.

Outside of some of the seafood that seemed less than fresh, the food was delicious. Skip the cocktails as their ice is garbage and they don't have a dedicated bartender who knows what they're doing. The solo hot pot approach I'm sure appeals more to germaphobes, but takes some of the fun out of what is traditionally a communal experience. The service was slow and inexperienced. The kids' food came out last. Several times we had to ask about things that were supposed to have been included but they forgot to bring. And on a busy weekend night you might expect some of these issues, but the place was more than half empty. Also skip the ramen. Not sure why you would order ramen from a hotpot place, but one of our party did and was disappointed.

Extremely rude staff, not trained on basic register functions. Food is over priced. Their other location down the road (falls church) has same food and better staff. I won't be back and I would tell anyone reading this to stay clear of this place. Go to the other location. When our coupon was expired and the waiter couldn't figure out the Mosaic discount the waiter told us we "should go by groceries" if we where that short on cash. He didn't understand that I could literally walk to tons of other restaurant in the Mosaic district and get a discount with one touch of a button. It not about being short on cash it's about not wanting to spend more then I have to.

You will get one pot per person. Dinner and lunch are same price but lunch has free icetea. plenty free parking around. Oh this place also offer a lot side dishes. Ramen, rice etc. Spicy level is not that scary, you can definitely try spicy or very spicy.
