This place is the quintessential St. Louis dining experience. A small, dimly lit, intimate lounge nestled on a quiet corner. You are seated almost adjacent to your neighbors. With your first step inside, you feel the community and you feel the belonging.
We came on a double date and we were wowed. The potato churros were out of this world. I have never had a potato so light and airy while still maintaining such incredible crispiness. Plus, the tangy aioli (I think?) that accompanied them was insane. Unashamedly, yes I did scrape the last bits of it with my finger. The cavatelli was amazing. So light, which seems weird to say because it is a pasta dish. The veggies inside created a freshness words cannot adequately articulate. It was bursting with flavor. The light cream sauce to accompany balanced everything out by roping in some slight acidity.
The star of the show? The flat iron steak. Cooked to a perfect medium rare with chunks of flaky salt to draw out every ounce of flavor. I do not know how they did it, but these potatoes had the same crispiness, I wish it came with more. Oh, and the broccolini is no after thought. Hearty, salty, and basted in a tomato sauce that could win over even the most adverse vegetable eaters.
Of course, do not count out the cocktails. Little Fox holds a special place in my heart for having a welcoming selection of mezcal based drinks. Persephone was my favorite. Smoky, sweet, and boozy. Need I say more?
Our service was superb. We were invited in and treated like family. She was so kind, attentive, and gave some great recommendations.
Date nights, celebrations, business, no matter the occasion, Little Fox is the place to be to add ambience, service, and great eats to any occasion.
