NYC Restaurant Closings, May 2022 - Eater NY

"After about five years in business, uptown French bistro Little Frog is shutting down. Owner Francois Latapie shared the news on LinkedIn, writing that he closed the business due to a "lack of government support" during the pandemic. Latapie, an alum of Le Cirque who previously co-owned the famed French restaurant Orsay, wrote that he hoped to reopen in a new neighborhood." - Emma Orlow

We loved Little Frog! We live nearby and have been wanting to try it for a while now. The inside of the restaurant is very cute, and the restaurant was full on a Saturday evening around 7pm, so definitely call ahead! I think the service was amazing and I experienced no rudeness as a few other reviewers mentioned. The owner is French and doesn't beat around the bush regarding wait times and availability which is great, but I can see how some people may expect more sugarcoating in that regard. The food was amazing, the scallops were perfectly cooked through and the escargots were perfectly seasoned. I'll definitely be back!

Dinner at Little Frog was fine. Some dishes were very good (eg the duck) and others very disappointing (eg the seared Tuna). The tuna was lower quality fish than I expected with a poor tasting crust. We enjoyed our appetizers and thought the service was very good.

I ordered the steak frites, $44 for a famously cheap cut of steak so I expected it to be amazing and worth the price. I asked for medium rare but it was definitely rare and as for taste, apart from some salt and pepper, the steak was completely underwhelming and fatty. My friends enjoyed the duck which I would get if I had to go back. The creme brûlée according to my friends was not very good.

The Prosecco bottle made this an extra special brunch. Lol. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly. I would have liked more sear on my steak but it had good flavor. I honestly left tipsy and happy which I feel is what brunch is such an awesome thing.

I've been following Little Frog Bistro on Instagram for a while now and was just waiting to come to NYC to have a meal there. It didn't disappoint me at all- what I saw on Instagram was exactly what we ate. The food and service were outstanding- I"m not only going to return on my next trip but recommend my parents to visit her on their next trip. We ate- Iberio Ham and Duck Parfait (Fois Gras) for starters; 2 of us shared a whole duck (it was flambeed at our table!); Tuna Tartare; sea scallops risotto; Nicoise Salad (very different recipe); and a creme brulee. Absolutely delicious. THe manager kept coming over to explain each dish - he was truly interactive. Great restauranteur.

Nothing special about this place would be an understatement.. Great food, great price and great service. We love everything about this place and will return with bigger party 👍. We arrived just in time for Happy hour $10 martini and $7 beer. It's truly a hidden gems on UES. Thank you.

This place is unreal. Haven't heard much about this place so I didn't have high expectations but every dish was more delicious than the next. And extremely friendly owner and waiter. Will definitely be back!!
