"Boka Restaurant Group’s Lakeview complex is fully operational with the debuts of GG’s Chicken Shop, Itoko Sushi, and Little Goat Diner. GG’s is a counter-service restaurant that’s incredibly family-friendly; it even has a space-aged charging table with UV rays in the bathroom. The food centers on chicken which is done fried and roasted. There’s also a special ground burger that gives red meat eaters an intriguing choice. Itoko is the little sibling of Momotaro, Boka’s lauded Fulton Market sushi spot. Chef Gene Kato handles the menu, even the desserts, and while there’s no fancy omakase option, North Siders have an elegant choice that will leave them fulfilled with unique and fresh fish options. The third leg of the operation, the relocation of Stephanie Izard’s Little Goat, debuted late in April in the former Southport Lanes building." - Ashok Selvam
"An all-day cafe serving upscale takes on diner food. Little Goat is from the chef behind Girl and The Goat, so you can expect similarly high-quality food. They serve breakfast (like their Fat Elvisp pancakes, with peanut butter-flavored butter, banana, and bacon maple syrup) all day, as well as things like grilled cheese and chicken fingers that you’ll want to steal off the kids’ plates when they get distracted ... or claim they’re full after 64 seconds." - adrian kane, nick allen
"Stephanie Izard has said goodbye to her playful bakery Sugargoat, but fans of its salty-sweet Fry Pie (an inventive riff on French fries dipped in a Wendy’s Frosty) can still grab it by the slice at Little Goat Diner, which relocated in 2022 from West Loop to Lakeview. Traditionalists can also get in on the fun with citrus meringue pie, also offered by the slice." - Ashok Selvam
"This is a diner (complete with laminated menus and spinny stools) from the Girl & the Goat team. And while this place can be busy on the weekends, during the week it’s great for a casual meetup in the West Loop. You can order things like nachos, patty melts, pancakes (they serve breakfast all day), along with cocktails." - adrian kane
"Little Goat has something going on almost every day of Halloween week. Like pumpkin carving with food and drinks on October 26th (best pumpkin gets a prize), a kid’s costume party on the 29th that includes pumpkin painting, arts and crafts, spooky apps and treats from Sugargoat, and a Halloween Happy Hour on the covered patio with drinks and snacks on the 30th. Reserve your spot via Tock." - adrian kane
