NYC’s New Restaurant Openings

"For a floral-print filled brunch, there’s Little Hen in Greenwich Village. The “English-inspired” spot with two locations in South Florida and one in Houston has almost no English-inspired food on their brunch menu (justice for breakfast beans on toast), but they do have afternoon tea." - will hartman

Visited Little Hen for Afternoon Tea with friends. We loved their wide selection of teas and delicious finger sandwiches, scones and assorted desserts. Everything was prepared fresh and service was warm and friendly. The seating was comfortable and cafes décor was perfect for afternoon tea. I’ll definitely need again to try out their brunch menu! 10/10 recommend! 😊

I fell in love with Little Hen on Bleecker Street and will definitely return for brunch and afternoon tea. Recently, I brought a friend here, and it did not disappoint. We were seated at a beautiful table for two in a delightful atmosphere with lots of flowers and soothing music. Our server, John, provided exceptional service and skillfully managed everything we ordered—he is truly magnificent at his job. The afternoon tea experience was unforgettable, featuring freshly made, reasonably priced finger food, macarons, and scrumptious scones with accompanying sides. Our teas were delicious and generously portioned for two people. One unique aspect of Little Hen is their dress code, which adds a touch of elegance to the experience. We dressed up nicely, though some others didn't adhere to the guidelines. Overall, our experience was fantastic—the service was excellent, and the food was prepared fresh with care. I look forward to returning with my other friends for brunch or tea time.

Came here the other day for brunch and it was delightful! I've been one other time and went to the original in Miami and it always delivers. The menu is quite varied so depending on how hungry you're feeling or what you're into - there's something for you. I've had the chilaquiles before with chicken which was great and yesterday did the eggs benedict with crab cakes - perfectly cooked! The scones are small but delicious with the jam + clotted cream combo. A side of crispy bacon was the cherry on top! The interior of the place was really cute and on a sunny day was warm and inviting. Will definitely come back again sometime.

Had an amazing dinner experience at Little Hen—Mexico’s newest French-inspired restaurant. The ambiance was elegant and cozy, perfect for a relaxing evening. Chef Frank was incredibly kind and attentive, personally recommending some of their standout dishes: the Lobster Bisque Cappuccino, Crab Quiche, Crab Cake, and the Marble Foie Gras Terrine—each one was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. We also tried two rose cocktails that were as gorgeous as they were tasty. The service, food, and overall vibe made for a fantastic night. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a refined and memorable dining experience in the area!

Google
The environment was pleasant, but unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations. I found a piece of hair in my pancakes after I had almost finished eating. The staff was understanding and offered to remake the dish or provide a refund, and I opted for the refund due to the timing of the issue. While I appreciated the quick response, I hope future experiences can be more consistent with both quality and cleanliness.

Google
Service was excellent, I would say go for light snacks and drinks. The food was subpar and putting lavender on tomato is diabolical. The truffle fries were really good as well as the drinks. They sat us by the door so I don’t suggest going during the winter time because they don’t have a vestibule so when the door opens you are bound to be hit with a gust of wind. Some of my friends ate with their jackets on. The space is much smaller than it looks in pictures, but pretty cute.

Google
10/10. Came here for Mother’s Day brunch a day early. The atmosphere was lovely and beautiful, the staff is very friendly, and the food was yummy. I love spicy and their rancheros sauce was delicious. I got the Avocado Benedict with a rose latte and raspberry hibiscus mock tail and they were all very yummy. Overall it was great and will definitely be coming back!

Update (2nd visit): Same wowing quality of afternoon tea service - tea, sandwiches, scones, sweet. Same amazingly warm staff. So appreciative of Roberta and Isabelle. Cold and raining. They tried to find us a table further away from the door. Ended we didn’t need it. But it was their effort wowed us. Original: The best afternoon tea in the City. Rival the ritzy high-end hotel offerings. Intimate, English garden vibe. Friendly, thoughtful staff. Frankie and the busboy were amazing. Friendly, thoughtful, attentive. The bread for the tea sandwiches were so soft (usually not even at high-end hotels) and bursting with flavors. Fresh ingredients. The scones were freshly baked. The strawberry compote was heavenly. The tea, wow, the Queen’s Guard, was simply wow. As described on the menu, an English garden. The White Wedding is also excellent. We love the deeper lavender scent. The experience is simply delightful and satisfying for high tea snobs. :)

Yelp
This is definitely a NYC brekkie gem! The food, the drinks, the service, the ambiance all were phenomenal! My friends and I truly enjoyed this brunch experience and shall return (several times). ;)

Yelp
The service was amazing and the atmosphere was very cutesy but in an elegant way. The sandwiches and desserts were amazing but the icing on the cake was my hibiscus tea (I can't recall the name) but it was exceptional.

Yelp
I blindly made a reservation to this place for a friend's late bday lunch / brunch celebration. I chose it as she likes the whole Tiffany vibe , feminine, Instagram friendly. Photos don't do this place justice as it's far prettier , daintier in person . It's like being transported to another place, a high tea perhaps somewhere In an English garden ( think Bridgerton if you've seen the series ). You can come here for high tea ( with tea , Prosecco ) or for their brunch items . If you want something light, high tea is the way to go . If you're here for lunch , definitely order the usual brunch items . Every table looked content with their order . A lot of bday celebrations , I can also see this to be popular for bridal , baby showers. In terms of food , there are 3 of us , 2 shared the high tea while the 3rd ordered the huevos rotos with churrasco ( the American take of the traditional spanish dish - the spanish one has chopped eggs on top and jamon ) . The mini sandwiches were both a combination of hits / misses ( the egg salad and the cucumber could use some salt) while the chicken salad was good . The scone served warm was good ( served my favorite clotted cream, jam and lemon curd ) . The mini macaroons and choco truffle were tasty . Upon finding out it's my friend's bday , they served her a treat and a rose which was very nice ! There's nothing better than a friendly staff which makes the whole experience even better . I see why there's a wait and why people come here to celebrate an occasion.

Yelp
Wouldn't say it is the best high tea experience in Manhattan, but is definitely worth the price! Paid around $90 for 2 people. The vibes are super cute and perfect for a photo shoot/girlies brunch. Bring your camera! Starting from the bottom of the platter, the sandwiches were good. The egg salad and cucumber sandwich were the best. The scones were pretty good as well, dry but still edible with the clotted cream. The macaroons and chocolates on top were really bad. You're paying more for the ambiance and experience here rather than food. I got the house tea, and I put a lot of sugar in it. If you haven't been to Laudree yet, then go there first, but this is also a great option to check out.

Yelp
I had a friend visiting from out of town and thought this would be a great place to have brunch. We loved the rose pancakes that they are known for. I got an Americano, which was fine. My friend liked her spicy mango cocktail and her espresso martini. The avocado toast she got with salmon was really overpriced for what was pretty much guacamole and packaged salmon on a piece of toast. I liked my fries with eggs because the eggs and fries were perfectly cooked but to add on churrasco for eight dollars and there was only a couple tiny pieces was not worth it. Overall, I would come back for the rose pancakes and I saw some people had afternoon tea, which is maybe the way to go here. But everything else just seemed kind of overpriced. They were also really busy so the cocktails took a long time to come. We also asked for the rose pancakes to come later as a dessert, and they actually came out first with all the other food, which was kind of disappointing.

Yelp
This is a super girly place. The decor, menu and it screams girls brunch, tea or celebration of any kind the minute you walk in. I'm in love with the cuteness of it all and the fabulous menu. So much to chose from. They do high tea, breakfast, lunch and brunch. Great location in the village. The service was awesome, we went on a snowy Monday morning for a little light breakfast. Their coffee menu is awesome and how it's served. I had the dirty lavender latte my friends had the dirty chai latte and a vanilla latte. All delicious! And served beautifully. The cups and saucers ! We then had the basket of scones one was lemon blueberry and the other was orange zest. Comes with clotted cream and house made jam. Yummmm. These are served warm and were a lovely bready start to our day. Then we shared the truffle mushroom omelette . Amazing. Real truffle shavings. Also comes with truffle fries! A true indulgent omelette . It tasted so rich. You can taste the truffle and the mushrooms were plentiful inside. I loved the smoothness of the omelette. Of course I can't say no to truffle fries. This was a truly delicious combination of all things I love. Little hen is a little gem for sure.

Yelp
I came here with a friend to catch up specifically for the tea set ($38) which is a steal! We both got our own teapots which was nice. The tea set seemed about on par as others I've had taste-wise. The scones were my favorite but some of the bread was stale/dry so I wasn't a huge fan of that. The salmon and tuna were strong on the fish flavors so if you're not too fond of them, you probably won't like those ones. The mini macarons were okay. Overall the atmosphere was a little loud but very aesthetic! Staff was also super friendly.

Yelp
I came here with a friend to check out their afternoon tea service over the weekend. I'm going to be frank. I've admittedly never done a formal tea service before in any city. I guess this one is on the more reasonably priced end with being $38 for a full tea tray (that's shared) and pot of tea per person. The place is very cute. Very tiny and cramped but cute. I think some kind of birthday or shower was going on when we arrived. It's that kind of place. So it's best to get a reservation in advance. We ended up trying the White Wedding and the Corzon de Con Fuegos teas. Of the two I preferred the white tea as it was more light and balanced and had hints of kind of chamomile. The other tea was bright pinkish red and kind of tasted tart to me but it was unique. On the party tea tray there was an assortment of sandwiches: Chicken salad, tuna salad, egg salad, smoked salmon, and cucumber and cream cheese. Very tiny sandwiches just to forewarn you. My favorite was the cucumber sandwich. The salad sandwiches were kind of bland to be honest. The middle tier were of two tiny scones per person that were accompanied with lemon curd, strawberry preserves, and clotted cream that just kind of tasted like whipped cream. Unsure if it was the real deal. Top tier were two tiny truffles and 4 macaroons. Both were actually pretty tasty. I ended up with a pistachio and a chocolate and my friend had I think lemon and vanilla. The chocolate truffle was nice and rich and bitter. I enjoyed the experience. Unsure if it was worth close to $50 with tax and tip. And as a heads up they don't take cash. It's credit only. Which is technically an illegal process (no one can deny cash as an offer of trade for goods) but to each one's own. Aside from that and an incident where they decided to dump out my friend's cup of tea without asking because she mixed milk into it and they deemed it undrinkable, service and everything was just fine. I'm glad I tried the whole tea thing experience but I'd probably go somewhere else if I were to ever do it again.

Yelp
Super instagrammable brunch spot that is just oh so cute. All the details and presentation are on point and on brand. The place is quite small and I definitely recommend reservations. Given how busy it was on a Saturday morning (I grabbed the first reservation time at 9:30 am) they didn't at all rush us to leave our table and let us continue chatting for a while after we had finished eating, only brining the bill when we asked them to. I appreciate how the menu has a wide range of options, from sweet to savory, from healthy to less-so. I opted to try the rose latte because why not, and actually quite enjoyed it. It didn't taste like drinking perfume, which I thought it might. The rose flavor was subtle but there. I opted for an omelet that was beautifully presented and totally satisfying. Not the best omelet I've ever had, but exactly what I expected. Definitely an aesthetics type place, and I'm here for it.

Yelp
Went with a group to celebrate my birthday. We had reservations for 4:30 on a Saturday. They were just getting our table ready when we arrived -- got a booth which was right by the kitchen entrance. We all decided to have the afternoon tea special for $38 per person. I had the Little Hen House tea which was fresh mint and lemon slices. I barely tasted any mint, but didn't make a fuss. Our server had asked if we were there for any special occasion and my sister pointed to me and said it was for my birthday. She came back with a long stem rose for me. Our food came and she explained the different sandwiches and macaron flavors. She also recommended we eat the scones while they were warm. They were so fresh and not dense. I really enjoyed them (2 per person). As for the sandwiches, I felt the bread was a little dry. Maybe they were made earlier in the day and we were the last seating. I ate them all since I was hungry. I skipped the sweets due to health reasons, but then they came with a chocolate mousse and lit candle to sing me Happy Birthday. That was very nice, so I had a little and shared with the others. On our way out, I said good bye to the hostess and she told us to wait and handed each of us a long stem rose. That left a happy impression on all of us.

Yelp
This place has such cute and elegant decor! The space is small but clean and comfortable, creating a cozy atmosphere. I've only had the chance to try the croissants and scones so far - both were incredible. The croissants were perfectly flaky, and the scones were absolutely delicious. I'm definitely planning to come back for their high tea next time! The service was polite, though a little on the slower side. Overall, a lovely spot worth visiting for a delightful treat.

Yelp
Was seated right away. Please make reservations. It was PACKED. The space is very small very tight with one bathroom stall. The service was excellent no complaints there. We ordered the rose colored pancakes which were really good but I'm going to be completely honest this place is for hype. The food is subpar. The bacon was salty. We ordered tea time to share between the two. The best thing were the micro macaroons. We tried to enjoy the sandwiches but no. I will also make a suggestion please properly wash the dishes. I couldn't enjoy the tea as the cups smelled raw and unwashed. I understand that restaurants go through dish washers but please make sure the cutlery and cups are washed properly. Though the service was really good the food is no where close to the hype

Yelp
This restaurant has the tea party for adults vibe. It's very pink, pretty and floral. There were a few tables celebrating birthdays. My friends and I came here for the brunch and to catch up. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. The food was really and so was the drinks. I could see myself coming back here again. Make reservations!

Yelp
I enjoyed afternoon tea at Little Hen this week and had a very nice time. Our server was very attentive, the ambiance is elegant without being stuffy and the food was very delicious. It rivals other more expensive afternoon tea services in the city. At $38, it felt like a pretty good value. One real positive is that not everyone at the table has to order afternoon tea. So if someone is craving an omelette and someone else wants afternoon tea, that's totally fine here! They have a dress code that we followed but I didn't see it enforced. This didn't bother me. Now onto the food. The afternoon tea is a nice size, but if you are very hungry, I wouldn't say that the portion is super large. I left feeling satisfied but not stuffed. I could have eaten a few more dainty tea sandwiches. However, the quality was there! All of the tea sandwiches were tasty. My favorites were the tuna salad and chicken salad. The scones were delicious and the accoutrements were stellar! The lemon curd, clotted cream and stewed fresh strawberries really stole the show. I could have eaten a couple additional scones, they were so good! The small pastries were also nice- just a little something to finish the meal. For the tea, I got a pot of English breakfast which was to my liking. I also sampled the cheese omelette. It was done well and came with very tasty breakfast potatoes. For $14, this seemed like a good deal. They also had some lovely cocktails on the menu. One in particular had cotton candy and champagne and looked very Instagramable. I look forward to returning to Little Hen!

Yelp
Super cute brunch spot, very small space, make sure you have a reservation. Our waitress Taniyah was AMAZING! She was very attentive and spoke about the menu very descriptively and passionately. Dined on a Sunday at 12:30pm, we were seated right away, tables are very small. Started with the dirty rose latte which was very good, not an overpowering rose flavor. My friend had the rose petal dream cocktail and really enjoyed it. We shared the rose petal pancakes which was the perfect size for two, tasted as good as it looks, the rose syrup was a little too much for me, got a side of regular syrup and it paired very well with the floral flavor of the pancakes. Scones were served with a strawberry compote and a yummy cream. For entree I had the steak and eggs, steak was cooked perfectly, truffle fries weren't that great, didn't really taste the truffle flavor and they needed to be cooked more. Mushrooms side sauce was very tasty. My friend had the truffle omelette which smelled amazing and had more of a truffle flavor, served with regular fries. The hibiscus lemonade was refreshing, not too sweet. They also offer afternoon tea for $38 per person. Looking around the restaurant every dish looked good and a nice size portions. Chef Nick was very friendly, walking around chatting with guest.

Yelp
Came in for my cousins Bach and had the tea and snacks and they were lovely. They also make cocktails. I came in late and needed my mug swapped out, the decor and ambiance is lovely. Would love to come back for entrees.

Yelp
The way this place is decorated was just jaw-dropping from outside. So many passerbyers couldnt help but look, but definitely a cute place to bring your girlfriends! I loved that this place didnt require the entire table to participate in afternoon tea as most afternoon tea places do. They had a rather large menu, plenty of options for entrees apart from the afternoon tea service. Food for the afternoon tea was plenty and filling & all for a decent cost!
google avatar

Yelp
Little Hen is perfect for afternoon tea with your bff, mother-daughter date, or just a nice afternoon activity. My friend and I got the afternoon tea for $40 (a steal in NYC). The hostess was very nice. They recently opened and it was packed when I went so the waitress are stretched thin. It is quite small inside as well but decorated very nicely. I wouldn't expect to leave full from afternoon tea but they have a full menu if you'd like more options. The smoked salmon sandwich and scones were my favorite.
google avatar

Irene H.

Yelp
A cute afternoon tea place. It is very tight, so don't come with much. We had afternoon tea as brunch on a Sat. You get what you come for. I liked the sandwiches and there were too many sweet items - I think my friend took the leftovers home. I found it on the cheaper side at $38 per person. My friend ordered the "Little Hen House Tea" and was disappointed it wasn't actually tea. It's mint water... Service was fine. There are many afternoon tea places so if that's what you are interested in, this is a check off the list for me.

Yelp
Cutest afternoon tea for only $38 per person, additional cost for a glass of Prosecco or glass of Champagne. Small space but ambiance was pretty. Perfect spot to sip and savor! The staff and service were pleasant. The server recommended the white wedding tea which I enjoyed and highly recommend. The assortment tea sandwiches, scones, and sweets were good. My personal favorites were the scones, cranberry chicken salad, and egg salad tea sandwiches. I would definitely come back for their breakfast menu. I would like to try the rose petal pancakes and the rose tea latte and bring a group of girlfriends next time. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time, weekends tend to be busier and harder to get.

Yelp
Little Hen is a cute place to have brunch/afternoon tea. The tea service was great. Definitely one of the cheaper tea services in the city at only $38/pp. There was plenty of food and everything was delicious. The servers were pleasant and informative about the food and the teas. The decor was beautiful and bright with fresh flowers. The only con I can say about this place is the physical space is small. Most of the tables are small round table which seemed to be a little cramped to eat on. We were a party of 4 so we got one of the 3 booths they have which probably provided a better less cramped dining experience. Overall I'd definitely recommend Little Hen for afternoon tea and would come back to try their brunch.

Yelp
Loved it here. Came for afternoon tea and its such a stunning space. The staff was incredibly kind and the service was on point. I opt'd for the tea service that came with champagne and literally everything that I had was delicious.. from the sandwiches to the spreads. At $38pp this is one of the more reasonably priced afternoon tea services in the city. I came on a Friday afternoon and I'd say this was a great time to go as it wasn't crowded at all. I will say that some tables are super close together so I wouldn't come here to spill tea to a friend.. haha pun intended. 5 stars!
google avatar

Evelyn Z.

Yelp
The service and food here were impeccable! We had tried 6 different types of tea and they were all very delicious. We came in the afternoon so some of the tea options were no longer available, which was slightly disappointing because we had wanted to try those. One thing to note is that most of the tea that we had came in tea bags. Our server was very attentive to our table and we had each received a wonderful rose upon our exit. Lovely restaurant, perfect for afternoon tea!

Yelp
After browsing on the IG, I came across Little Hen & thought it'd be the perfect weekend afternoon tea experience with my gals. Picturesque & IG worthy, we made the stop this past weekend. Pro-tip: definitely make ressies - people were trying to snag lass min tables but had no luck. The afternoon tea was well worth the cost - $38 per person? That's a steal in NYC! The bites were well worth it, especially the scones & strawberry preservatives. My party & I also ordered the rose petal pancakes (I mean, rose infused maple syrup?!?) to share. Dress up for the occasion & don't forget to book the reservation. They've just recently open & they're still working out the kinks so be kind!
google avatar

Yelp
The decor is very Instagrammable but also not too precious that I felt like a bull in a china shop. We had the afternoon tea and leisurely enjoyed it on a Saturday as brunch. The teas were very floral and the cocktails were tasty. The champagne mojito was a hit with the table. We plan to go back and try the other dishes as the fries smelled amazing.

Yelp
Upon seeing this on social media I knew immediately it wanted to be like a Laduree with afternoon tea. It was definitely super cute and I wanted to be there as its the newest tea time spot in town! I honestly didn't know what to expect when I arrived but immediately I knew that it might have been a mistake to walk in during the hot summer. It almost felt hotter inside than the outside, and I know it's English inspired but please install an air conditioner or something because there was no way I was able to drink hot tea in this environment! The waiters/waitresses didn't really do anything to help and also looked miserable themselves as heat gets to people, they even spilled the champagne almost all over the table when we ordered our drinks! - - - DRINKS - - - Champagne Candy Cloud - this was okay, it just tasted like normal champagne with some sugar, like it was cute when they poured the champagne on top of some pink cotton candy but this was $22 per drink so I think it should definitely be cheaper and not an insane amount for a 4oz drink... and on top of that they didn't apologize after spilling the champagne all over our table, they just looked at each other... the service needs to step up and a reason is probably because everyone is miserable in the heat. Bloody Mary This was good! I enjoyed it and super refreshing and fresh veggies are included. - - - FOOD - - - Chilaquiles A person at my table really didn't like these as they were way too salty. Eggs Benedicts (Smoked Salmon, & Braised Short Rib) These were pretty good- I would say I enjoyed the Braised Short rib the most as its slightly sweet and very tasty! The salmon was yummy but not like the best. We sat and ate our meals and just really wanted to chat more but as time went on the hotter it got and all of us were sweating and also miserable so we ended up leaving anyways. I absolutely think the service needs to improve and atmosphere was great but everyone was absolutely dying in their frilly dresses and drinking hot tea like it's nothing for the photos.... so maybe I would come back here in the winter to try it again but as far as it goes it seems like I fell into the Instagram trap.

Yelp
This has been my favorite afternoon tea spot so far! The only downside for me here was the tight fit and small tables as it didn't leave a lot of room for much. However, the ambience, food, and hospitality completely made up for it. This would be such a lovely place to enjoy with friends, a partner, or even solo! I came here specifically for their afternoon tea but plan to come again to try out their tea selection and other items. I booked a reservation to celebrate my friend and mine's birthdays and the staff gave us a rose upon checking us in and wished us a happy birthday. That was very sweet and touching to me. Most places don't usually do that I think. When we got seated, they explained the concept of this restaurant and all the staff were very friendly. Our afternoon tea set came with macarons, chocolates, scones, tea sandwiches, and 2 pots of tea of our choice. I loved how nothing was overly sweet. I do wish the lemon sauce for the scone was thicker because it was a bit hard to spread on the bread. I ended up just using a spoon. I loved the flavor however. It's a great way to have a conversation and still have bites in between without feeling too full. I ended up taking some sandwiches home but I thought it was the perfect amount of food. Overall, I loved my experience here and I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Book this one without hesitation! Not only is the space just absolutely beautiful (soft pastels, lots of pretty floral pillows, fresh roses etc) - the food is delish! Afternoon tea is only $38. Or order a la carte. The omelette was so tasty as well as the chocolate pancakes. You really can't go wrong with anything you order here. The drinks are beautiful presented. Everything is almost too pretty to eat. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Go now. And take your camera ;)

Yelp
I've been to the Little Hen in Miami and I loved it! I decided to try this place with my girlfriend. It is much smaller but quaint and so cute inside! We visited for brunch time and did not have tea. Overall the food was good. They did sit us by the door and it was very cold! I had to have my jacket on the entire time because each time the door opened a cold breeze came in. Overall good experience.

Yelp
A friend and I came here for brunch today and let me say, this place was all around fabulous! My friend happens to be British and absolutely adored this place. With a classy yet elegant aesthetic, this place will easily have you fall in love with it. The hosts are super nice and accommodating. They made for a wonderful introduction to this restaurant. Our waitress Fran, however, was an absolute gem! She was so doting and so sweet. Trust me, you will be especially lucky to have her as your waitress. Now the food was perfection! My friend and I decided to do the high tea. The presentation was a 10/10. Delicious and fresh. Fran even made sure we had our "dainty plates" ready to go for us to fully enjoy our experience. Haha I noticed someone in another review mentioned it being noisy. I experienced no such thing. My friend and I were able to hear each other without issue. As we left the restaurant and said goodbye to everyone, another waiter whose name I didn't catch gave my friend and I two roses as we left. He too was just as sweet and such a gentleman. Honestly, they have a phenomenal staff, which makes the dining experience even better. I cannot recommend this place enough. You have got to visit!

Yelp
The place is beautiful! The staff is wonderful, but it was way too noisy. I could barely hear myself think or hear the server. I don't know what kind of mixup there was but my friend didn't receive her tea until halfway through the meal. The server was apologetic but that's really unacceptable. Overall our experience was nice and I would return.

Yelp
Super cute place to get tea in the city! Definitely affordable and the selection of food was decent, and everything tasted good! The waitstaff and hostess were also very nice and accommodating. The only downside is this size of this place. There's a lot of tables in a small space so it gets loud easily and there are a not a lot places to stand when waiting for a table or waiting for the bathroom

Yelp
I saw an Instagram ad promoting festive afternoon tea at Little Hen and had to take my 5-year-old daughter here. While we didn't end up getting the Afternoon Tea tower, we had a wonderful brunch instead. - Easy to make a reservation on Resy and got many text reminders before our reservation: "We favor a glamorous, elegant dress code. We kindly ask that all guests adhere to our Smart Chic dress code. Tank tops, active wear, and beach wear are not permitted. Gentlemen are not allowed to wear flip-flops or sports sandals. Dress sandals are an exception. We are a cashless house. We politely ask that no balloons or table decorations be brought. You are welcome to bring a cake with a dessert fee applied to your party. To ensure optimal dining experiences, parties of up to 4 are allocated 90 minutes of dining time and 120 minutes for parties of 5+ from the time of scheduled reservation. All requests are not guaranteed, we do our best to accommodate. Reservations are honored by the number of guests booked on your reservation. We hold the table for a grace period of 10 minutes. If you need to get in touch with us please text or call us at We look forward to welcoming you." - Excellent service, dishes, and ambiance. We loved and recommend the Scones Basket (with homemade clotted cream & berry compote), Short Rib Eggs Benedict, Steak and Eggs. Everything was very flavorful and on point, the meat was tender and juicy. - The ambiance is fun, elegant, and chic - exactly what you would envision for a fancy tea party. Perfect for bachelorette meals, ladies' birthdays & brunches. - Everyone from the hostesses, managers, and waitresses were friendly and attentive. They gave my daughter a flower on our way out and she was so happy. Cons: - While beautifully plated, the Chocolate Chip Pancakes were a little dry. Looking forward to coming back again!

Yelp
My friend saw an instagram post of this opening and we ended up going on a Saturday afternoon! Made a reservation with my friends and was pleasantly surprised that the interior and everything was just as advertised. Super cute and bright! The wait staff was friendly and the afternoon tea had a good selection of macaroons, sandwiches and scones. Each of us was also able to order our own pot of tea included in the price which was a plus. Will be back to try their brunch.

Yelp
One of the most beautiful cafes NYC has right now. The food are presented well and oh, the staff are very accomodating and nice! Our waiter, kept on asking if we are doing alright and if we need anything else. So sweet! I also love that they have a DRESS code! Dressing up for a place like this deserve a good outift indeed.

Yelp
We celebrated my best friend's 40th here, and it was an unforgettable experience. Our waiter, Tanijah, was fantastic--so patient, funny, and made the birthday girl feel extra special. The ambiance was beautiful, and the floral decor really brought the place together. Now, the food--wow, it was amazing! I had the Churrasco with an arugula salad and added fries on the side. Most of the ladies at the table had the Truffle Omelette, and they raved about it. We even wanted to order food to-go, but the kitchen had closed. I'll definitely be back! Tanijah, thank you again for being so wonderful. You made it extra special.

Yelp
Little Hen is a beautiful experience from start to finish, with a charming ambiance and attention to detail that truly elevates the dining atmosphere. However, our experience was soured by their strict cut-off time. Despite having a reservation at 3:45 PM, we were informed that they stop serving food and drinks at 4 PM, leaving us with minimal time to place any orders. It's confusing and disappointing that the restaurant allows late afternoon reservations--especially if guests are meant to enjoy a 90-minute experience--yet stops service just minutes later. This policy feels counterintuitive and led to frustration as we couldn't fully enjoy our visit. Additionally, they had run out of the tea I initially wanted, so I had to choose an alternative, which was enjoyable but not my first choice. If the kitchen closes promptly at 4 PM, reservations should be cut off earlier to allow diners to fully savor the experience without feeling rushed. Richard wasn't our waiter, but he went above and beyond to assist us, doing far more than our actual server. He genuinely tried to make our experience better, especially since we were celebrating a birthday and only had 15 minutes to order. Richard's attentiveness and effort helped ease the frustration of the strict timing, adding a thoughtful touch to our special occasion. It was clear he cared about making our visit enjoyable, even with the limited time left.

Yelp
Wow, this was the best breakfast I've had in a while. We went earylish (9 AM) on a Saturday and were seated right away under the condition that we'd be out by 10:15. There is a sign at the front promoting a dress code, but they didn't give me any issues about my sweatpants (maybe because it was early?). The decor is immaculate and kind of gives off upscale/snooty vibes, but the amazing menu selection says otherwise, and the prices were generally reasonable for the location. The scrambled egg and carnitas tacos were absolutely delicious, including the two types of salsas that accompanied them. The stuffed hashbrown, basically a cheese and potato casserole, was also great (and very filling). By the time we left around 10 AM it was packed, so I'll definitely be sure to make a reservation the next time I'm back here.

Yelp
Brunch here today was amazing! I believe our server was Brianna? She was very attentive and suggested great options. Food hit the spot. My friend ordered a blueberry mimosa and rose water pancakes with chicken sausage. She enjoyed it. Her only complaint was that the pancakes were borderline a little too sweet. The pancakes themselves are sweet, so when syrup is added it can be over the top if you're a heavy pourer. Offering pure maple syrup would help to combat this since pure maple syrup isn't that sweet. I ordered the black tea and a scones basket. The black tea comes in a teapot. The scones come with clotted cream and strawberry compote. The scones of the day were orange and so delicious. They were warm and moist. For my entree I ordered the chilaquiles with chicken. This was delicious. My only complaint is I wish the salsa verde was a little spicier. It lacked the spicy kick I'm use to and needed to make it perfect. Another added treat is that you're given a rose when you leave the restaurant. I felt special. I drove there on a Sunday and it was easy to find street parking in the area. The venue is small but the decor is beautiful. Smaller groups are better. I would not recommend a party larger than four. Reservations is a must. We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.

Yelp
We came here on New Year's Day with a reservation. The hostess tried to seat us by the door. When I asked about the booth seat, she told me she was gonna seat larger parties (which is laughable coz it can't seat more than 4 people and we had 4). Finally we were seated at the booth. The China and glasses looked really dirty and not cleaned well. We placed our order, 30 min later, they bought my mom's plate and 3 of us still got nothing. All the people came after us got their order already. After multiple attempts to follow up on our order, the who seemed to be the manager came and told us the battered they made for the fried chicken was not to his liking lol. I told her they could have told us earlier, not 40 min later. The other 2 dishes came lukewarm. One of the waiters has major attitude and pretty aggressive. Would not return. Pics from website were totally catfish. That place is smaller than a studio apt.

Yelp
Little Hen is a hidden treasure! The brunch is amazing! They have mini macaroons that are absolutely delicious! My friend got omelets, and the presentation was beautiful. I ordered a salad and it was freshly made with excellent seasoning. Definitely visit Litte Hen! The service was efficient.

Yelp
Little Hen is a gem! A quaint little restaurant that serves a smile when you walk in to impeccable table service to delicious breakfast items and wonderful conversation. It was simply delightful! I am sorry I didn't get photos so you have to enjoy it for yourself!

Yelp
We had a wonderful afternoon tea at Little Hen today. The decorating is lovely, and the staff very attentive and kind. The food was delicious, and it was the perfect amount. The most surprising and disappointing thing was that they were out of 3 different teas-- all of the black teas. For someone like me who loves having afternoon tea, this was a major item to not have. Considering that there are two very good tea shops within a block's distance of Little Hen, I am surprised they couldn't replenish to have on hand for New Years. I hope to return when they have black tea in stock.

Yelp
We visited in the afternoon around 2 PM, just before their afternoon tea menu-only began. We ordered the truffle omelette, which was absolutely delicious, and shared an afternoon tea for one. They were kind enough to provide two tea cups for us to share. The rose latte was beautifully made as well. The atmosphere is stunning--perfect for a cute, girly get-together. The service was excellent, with our server being incredibly attentive and always smiling, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

Yelp
My understanding is that this restaurant location is only open about a week, so I hope things will improve. My adult daughter and I went for brunch and it was just terrible. First, as pretty as the restaurant is, it is very cramped and the space is poorly used. Round tables are fun but in such a small room, they don't work. We were seated at the very end of the long space that leads to the sole restroom, along the coffee bar. We were the very last table, just a few inches from the entrance to the bathroom, about an inch between us and the tables next to and behind. It was very uncomfortable. My daughter tried to order the caviar omelette, which is on the menu but not available, so instead she ordered the truffle omelette which she said was pretty good. I ordered the eggs benedict, which on the menu says it is served on an English muffin with Canadian Bacon and spinach. Not so...what the eggs were served on was more like a flat, flavorless crumpet. There was no bacon and the spinach was served raw (weird in this case). My poached eggs were terribly undercooked and the hollandaise sauce was from a package as it tasted powdery and very salty. Basically an inedible dish, which also came with some under-seasoned, poorly cooked home fries. I also ordered a side of scones, which took about 15 minutes to come to the table, and when they did they were also undercooked and served with a jam and a poorly executed Devonshire cream-ish spread. My daughter ordered a matcha latte which she said was very good. I order a hibiscus and raspberry mocktail, which was cloyingly sweet and really not drinkable. When the server came to the table near the end of the meal, which she did in less than an hour, she must have noticed that I barely ate or drank anything, but the only comment she made was asking if I wanted to take the remaining scone home. I said yes, but no box or bag materialized, which is ok because it wasn't very good. I hope this restaurant will learn from their mistakes. As mentioned, it is very pretty, but management needs to give chef and servers some notes to help them get better. Also, remove a few tables or get some square ones to make it more comfortable for patrons. Also, the reservation states that parties under four have 90 minutes at the table but we were rushed out in about an hour. When we first got there, the restaurant was full, but when we left there were several empty tables, so why were we rushed?
