New Amsterdam Oyster Market Runs Through This Weekend at Little Island | Eater NY

"Perched over the Hudson and opened in 2021, I saw the public park pair an oyster-themed night market with a performance series called the Oyster Radio Hour for a five-night run from Wednesday, July 31 through Sunday, August 4. I don't need tickets to enjoy the night market (food is available from 6:30 to 10 p.m.), while the amphitheater performances start at 8 p.m. nightly and cost $15; the show is a three-act live radio production that celebrates the resilience of oysters, with Susan Sarandon leading interviews and Broadway vocalists from Hadestown and Lempicka performing, presented in partnership with Yo-Yo Ma’s Our Common Nature. Prices across the market range from $5 to $35 per item." - Melissa McCart

Little Park Review - Tribeca - New York - The Infatuation

"I almost died on a flight from London to New York the other day. Well, not really. But I was pretty sure that I was going to die, thanks to a combination of prolonged moderate turbulence over the Atlantic and an ill-timed Ambien. (It turns out that if you take one of those things and don’t actually fall asleep, you become some sort of hyper-emotional zombie capable of seeing the future.) As my short future left on this earth flashed before me, I thought about the things that I would miss about life on the ground in New York City. Obviously eating food was near the top of that list, right after my family and friends, House of Cards, and sneezing. That then led me to spend some time appreciating the fact that I’ve lived in New York City for over a decade and have had the good fortune of eating damn near everything that this city has to offer. There’s nothing like 10 days in Europe and a near-death experience to remind you that NYC is the best food city on the planet. Take, for example, Little Park. Andrew Carmellini opened this restaurant in the Smyth Hotel last year. It’s an excellent little spot with a farm-focused menu, inventive dishes that you won’t find anywhere else, and the magical ability to make vegetables taste amazing. The prices are even surprisingly reasonable. And yet it’s probably Carmellini’s third best restaurant in town. It’s not even his best restaurant in this neighborhood. Put Little Park anywhere else - London, Paris, LA, you name it - and it would be at or near the top of that city’s dining scene. But here, it’s just another great restaurant amongst a sea of other great restaurants - a great place for dinner with the girls or the next downtown Date Night you’re planning. Does it belong on your bucket list? That probably depends on how badly you want to eat beetroot tartare before it’s all said and done. At the very least, get it on your Hit List. And probably stay off the Ambien. Food Rundown photo credit: Noah Devereaux Fried Local Cauliflower Just because this cauliflower has been fried does not mean it belongs on the menu at your local Hooters. This is delicate and still very fresh, and not the slightest bit oily or greasy. photo credit: Noah Devereaux Beetroot Tartare We’d typically be the first ones to tell you that a meatless meat tartare has no business being on your table, but beets are really interesting and satisfying here, and the smoked trout roe adds a salty pop of flavor. Order this. photo credit: Noah Devereaux Beetroot Risotto MORE BEETS. This risotto is incredibly good and very rich. A must order. photo credit: Noah Devereaux Spatchcock Chicken Not exactly what you expected to see show up at your table, right? This chicken is served with a sweet mustard and freekeh, a Middle Eastern grain. No potatoes or bacon here - but still tons of flavor. photo credit: Noah Devereaux Dry Aged Duck & Kebab If you’re into duck, you’re going to be into this plate of food. The skin is crisped perfectly, and the meat is nicely roasted and full of ducky flavor. Get it on your table. photo credit: Noah Devereaux Steamed Sea Bass You want some fish? You got some fish. We wouldn’t order this one again, only because we like so many other things on the menu more. But you won’t be disappointed if you do decide to go this route." - Chris Stang

How to Spend a Day in New York City for Under $50

"Little Island is a newer park and one of the city's greatest architectural feats. Built atop concrete platforms that seemingly sprout from the Hudson River, Little Island is a beautifully landscaped green space with ample benches. Rest your feet and enjoy the breeze. The park sometimes hosts events at its outdoor amphitheater, so cross your fingers to arrive on such a day."

What to Eat, and What to Avoid, at Little Island - Eater NY

"Little Island is a 2.4-acre pier-based park at 14th Street, featuring winding paths, meandering stairways, and colorful flower beds. It offers dramatic views but is crowded and lacks amenities for relaxation. The food court features mediocre offerings attributed to Savory Hospitality, with a menu titled 'Bites & Sips.' The park's culinary offerings include various sandwiches, hot dogs, and snacks, but are generally not impressive. Highlights include a Reuben sandwich, Buffalo-style cauliflower, and a selection of local canned wines and beers." - Robert Sietsema

Love this park! It’s beautifully designed, and so accessible with baby strollers and with wheelchairs. There are so many activities going on on the weekends. I saw so many parents bringing kids playing on the playground. The plants and trees are growing so nicely. The whole park is well maintained. They also have a small stadium, too bad I didn’t have time to see their programs and performances. Will try to get tickets next time. I saw its growth and being built over the years. I’m so glad that it turned out to be greater than I can ever imagined.

Google
What an absolutely gorgeous, unique little island! This place is a truly magical and beautiful escape right on the water in Manhattan. The architecture is stunning—the mushroom-like 'tubs' that hold up the park are an amazing sight, and the whole design feels like a whimsical, modern garden. It's not just a pretty view, either. I loved the meandering paths that take you up to different scenic overlooks, giving you picture-perfect views of the Lower Manhattan skyline and the river. The variety of plants and flowers is so well-curated, making it feel like a lush, natural habitat despite its urban location.

Google
The Little Island is such a unique and beautiful spot! I loved walking around and exploring the pathways, gardens, and open spaces. The views of the Hudson River are amazing, and the design of the park is super modern and creative. It’s the perfect place to relax, take photos, or just enjoy the peaceful atmosphere right in the middle of the city. Great for a daytime visit with perfect weather, definitely worth checking out!

Little Island is one of the most unique and beautiful spots in New York City. It’s a peaceful escape right in the middle of the hustle and bustle—perfect for a relaxing walk, a scenic view, or just some quiet time surrounded by nature and art. The design of the park is stunning, with its elevated walkways, rolling hills, and incredible views of the Hudson River and skyline. There’s so much to enjoy—live performances at the amphitheater, little tucked-away seating areas, and even interactive spaces for kids. Whether you’re there during the day for sunshine and greenery or at sunset for some amazing photo ops, it feels like a magical little world of its own. It’s free to enter, clean, safe, and thoughtfully designed. Whether you're a local or visiting the city, Little Island is an absolute must-see. I’d give it more than 5 stars if I could!

Google
Such a beautiful find as we drove through the Chelsea Piers area. Little Island was stunning during the sunset. A view of the city and a view of the river are available if you walk to the top on either side. There is no entrance fee and in speaking with security, there are free and paid bands during the week. Folks were walking, sitting in the grassy areas, hula hooping and sitting in the spinny chairs near the vendors. Just a relaxed vibe and gorgeous view.

Google
Perfect place for a nice walk. Multiple beautiful walkways. A little peace in a very busy and noisy city. I would definitely recommend going to this park. There is even a small beach area.

Google
Little Island is a really unique and nice park to walk through if you're in the area. It's a short(about 5-10min) walk from the Chelsea market and free to walk through! We grabbed some drinks from the market and had a nice walk through this park. There's also a little stand for drinks/snacks, but we didn't go up to it, a theatre that has shows at times and multiple paths to take. This place is a highlight because walking up to it, it seems like a smaller area to check out, but once you enter from either of the 2 entrances, you become immersed by this grand park that is hard to believe is so big and spacious. Highly recommend if you have the time and are in the area!

Google
is a true gem in the heart of the city! I visited on a beautiful summer day—the weather was perfect, sunny with a light breeze. Although there were plenty of people, it never felt overwhelming, and there was still room to walk, relax, and take in the views. What I loved most was how the space makes you feel: like you’re stepping away from the chaos of Manhattan and into a peaceful, green escape. Whether you’re walking the paths, sitting on a bench, or just watching the river, it’s the kind of place that helps you disconnect from the city and reconnect with nature. A must-visit spot for locals and travelers alike.

Yelp
Little island is a must visit while in NYC. I have been here about 3-4 times and don't get tired of it. It's well located nearby other main attractions like the High Line, Chelsea Market and Hudson Yards a little further away. I recommend not missing the nearby Pier 37 rooftop, you will get the best views of the little island from up there. While in the island, it reminds me of the Dolores Park in San Francisco where locals as well as tourist come to sit on the grass, mingle and enjoy the city views. Looking forward to my next time!

Yelp
I first noticed Little Island from the other side of the Hudson River, and it's almost an eyesore to the skyline from that view, but visiting this newly created park was a completely worthwhile experience. Similar to Hoboken's Pier C, you take antiquated pier space near the waterfront and develop it into new outdoor space. Little Island is recently created waterfront park situated across from the relocated Whitney and next to a newly developed Pier with foodcourt. Little Island is beautifully landscaped with flowers and seagrass, and it includes a center court with food stands, tables and chairs, even a piano. Exploring little island is mostly a journey up to various vistas and includes a great-looking performance space. This is definitely a nice-weather place to visit; once you get past October, pick a day that's sunny and not so windy.

Yelp
I remember when we had to have tickets to go to Little Island and they would let us put out blankets on the lawn. It is a pretty cool place. Considering that it is not old at all, it has evolved with rules and a culture pretty quickly. Views are pretty awesome and even though more infrastructure in the surrounding area make it less of a destination, it still holds its own.

Yelp
Went to Little Island last Wednesday afternoon and we had a good walk from our hotel to Pier 57. The cool and sunny weather was perfect for walking as we enjoy the views of the skyline and the ocean. There's a walking trail and stairways to go to the topc, where you can see the sunset and the Statue of Liberty from a distance. Check it out!

Yelp
Little Island is located in the meat packing district of Manhattan, NY. It is an artificial island and public park within the Hudson River Park. Beautiful views of New York here. There is a walking/running/biking path right near the water. The large tulip shaped bowls house trees and foliage. The park has interactive features to explore and create fun adventure for the entire family. The park is free except for special performances in the amphitheater. There is street parking if you have to drive but it may be a challenge. Use public transport, ride share or taxi.

Yelp
I visited little island after browsing through the Chelsea market and it is such a great sight to see. I came during the perfect time of the day, there was a beautiful sunset that provided the opportunity for great photos. There are many areas to explore here and they even had a show playing at the little amphitheater. I would definitely recommend my friends to visit this attraction whenever they're visiting New York.
google avatar

Adriana M.

Yelp
I would put this down as a must-visit while in New York City. In addition to being architecturally and aesthetically pleasing, it offers a chance to stroll, hang out, and people watch. It is friendly to most - groups, individuals, couples, families, etc.... and for views it is excellent. They have little vendors for snacks and refreshments and you can grab a table or a spot on the grass to picnic and enjoy the outdoors. Pier 57, the High Line, Hudson Yards, and Chelsea Market are all nearby. It's fun, free, and fabulous!
google avatar

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
What a fun and free activity to do while in NYC!! Great views from on top of the island and they have chairs and table at the park to rest of eat if you wanted to rest in the shade.
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful spot of the edge of the city. Such a unique place. I loved the walking paths and the amphitheater would be an amazing place to come to hear music.
google avatar

Yelp
The Little Island park entrance starts at what was known as pier 54 & 56, the first ports in NYC. The Titanic was due to pull at this NY pier following her maiden voyage. The Titanic survivors did arrive here. The steel archway still stands as a testament. It is an incredible floating park filled with beautiful landscaping, flowers, fauna, trees, rocks, grass spaces. There are fantastic views of the Hudson and the city from a variety of vantage points. There is a place for performances. There are concessions and restrooms. The walk is uphill, but not too challenging and there are plenty of twists and turns to check out, places to stop. Crowds and Instagramers can make it less than serene, but it is definitely worth a visit. I would recommend an hour at least to soak it all in. The park itself is free and opened to all.

Yelp
Of All The 7 Times Traveling To The Big Apple AKA NEW YORK CITY!!!!!! Little Island is Also Another Place That I Have Never Been To During My Destination Adventures Around ȚĤẸ ƁĪĢ ĄPPĹĘ AKA NƐẄ ŶŐŘĶ ÇÎŦÝ .... Yelp
This was a unique place that I wanted to check out since it opened to the public back in 2021. Pier 54/55 was replaced with a beautiful park. It's a part of the expansive Hudson River Park running from Chambers St to 59th St. Those that love nature, so check this place out. There's also a vista point with nice views of lower Manhattan and the Jersey skyline. Per their website, the hours are from 6:00 am to 12:00 am.
google avatar

Jan N.

Yelp
A beautiful find as we drove through the pier area. It was peaceful and gorgeous as we watched the sunset.
google avatar

Stacy C.

Yelp
Beautiful skyline views from any part of the park. I always recommend Little Island to visitors because its a perfect spot of photos. The sunsets here are spectacular. Lots of bathrooms that are generally kept clean. Food available but limited, there's a food kiosk inside the park as you enter to your left . They sell hot dog , fries, nachos etc. There is also a ice cream cart closer to the bathroom entrance. Best bet for variety is to get food at Pier 57 or Chelsea Market which are very close by and options are massive. You're allowed to bring food in. There's no lawn entry so don't plan on picnicking. The ground level does have some seating but at times that can be limited due to crowds. This is really sort of a walking park , choose paved trail or there are some areas where there are stone pathways. Of course you can sit at the lower level and still have views if you can't make it to the top . No bikes/scooter riding, you can walk those items in but can't mount them. Be sure to check the summer concert line up. There's a amphitheater and great performances happen here. The climb to the lookout at the top is beginner level and totally worth the view.
google avatar

Inverleith F.

Yelp
An oasis along the Hudson River that offers views of Jersey and downtown. Worth a stop to take in the view as there is plenty of places to sit. We walked here from Midtown on a beautiful day along the walkway to take in the sunshine and cool breezes.
google avatar

Hank C.

Yelp
Still no pets allowed, walkways and stairs and grass; artificial park built out over the old pier, you can see the old wooden stumps in the water still. Areas to play, hang out, ground glockenspiel, and ampitheater for performances. A high point for vista views of NJ and the Hudson river - windy when we arrived. Free to access for the public. No bikes.
google avatar

Angela D.

Yelp
How cool is this?! Loved being on this little island for some much needed greenery and some nice views too. They have an amphitheater with concerts in the summer so definitely check the schedule out. It was fun to run around and explore and crazy to imagine that you're on top of the cool structures.
google avatar

Bret B.

Yelp
Scenic metro park for views of the WTC and the Statue of Liberty. Incredible "floating" island on concrete piers. Bicycle parking and the nicest restrooms I have ever seen at a park. The restrooms are more like what you would see at a Marriott lobby. I love to stop at the parks when I ride the bike along the Hudson from 70th to Battery Park.

Yelp
I enjoyed the NOYZ mental health walk at Washington Square Park all the way to Little Island. The walk took about 1hour. The group took a stroll towards the West Side Highway. It's a great way to connect with others, and learning to prioritize our well-being. Everyone who joined the walk received a little gift of the love club parfum and we got a sneak peek at their new Summer Launch mist and body spray. We each took a paper to write something and then exchanged Mental Health Positive Notes, sharing words of affirmation to uplift and inspire each other. It was an amazing experience and enjoyable walk.

Hui L.

Yelp
I've been meaning to visit this place ever since it opened a few years ago (when they had timed ticketed entry) but never got around to it as it's located all the way out on the west side of Manhattan. The sloped hills and stone stairs were pretty easy to walk around. It felt like a smaller version of Governor's Island to me. Walking around here is really the only way as it's too cramped of a space to run. The views were just alright, it's of Jersey across the river and far in the distance you can just make out the Statue of Liberty. They also had a giant amphitheater in the middle of the island for performances as well as a dining area with tables and chairs. It's peak blooming season so there were also various types of flowers blooming all over the island. The musical brass steps were pretty fun to play around on. Bathrooms looked pretty decent from the outside and were by the bridge crossing back over to Manhattan.
google avatar

Amienyc L.

Yelp
I truly loved this Floating Park. After my 4miles run in the morning, this beautiful place was my finish line. I am in love with every details of their landscape and appreciates the beauty of it. This Little Island is just awesome for me. Thanks to Staff who worked hard to maintain this
google avatar

Veronika B.

Yelp
I recently visited Little Island in the fall and its a visually fantastic experience. The landscaped lawns offer a gorgeous array of colors in a breathtaking range of shades. The place was incredibly busy on the weekend afternoon and evenings expect to wait for those choice shots if you are a photographer or just looking to capture the moment. If you haven't been yet, I definitely recommend checking it out. Surely I will be back!
google avatar

Mikhala F.

Yelp
Another NYC spot that totally lived up to the hype! I'd spotted Little Island during a ferry ride on a previous trip and haven't stopped thinking about it. This time, we set out to experience it. As we approached, the park is simply stunning: architecturally satisfying, with little nubs on stilts (I'm sure this is the proper terms for these) making a green park above the water at the end of the pier. It was so fun to walk up on a Saturday morning and see so many other folks running, walking with family and friends, and taking photos here - but wasn't too crowded to enjoy! We walked through the area and it felt compact yet expansive at the same time. They have a cute little amphitheater in the middle with a view of the water that I see they have performances at. There are a few other areas of interest - viewpoints, smaller stages, etc. throughout. The foliage here is so stunning, and we caught the start of fall colors. What a wonderful green space with inventive layout in the heart of the city!
google avatar

Eljoy T.

Yelp
I know a lot of people like the view and going on walk there but something about how man-made it looks feels eary to me. All in all, if you want a good view or the city, just go to the top floor of the pier across from it.
google avatar

Pamela L.

Yelp
I heard about Little Island and wanted to see what the hype was all about. It was just awesome. I was in wonderment on how much work went into the planning and building of the structure. I just had to sit and take it all in. It's an artificial island that protrudes into the water. It is made of concrete pillars and sitting on top of the pillars look like tulip structures. At first, I thought the tulip structures were someone's behind because it is so well sculptured. It It is a public park with manicured lawns, mini parks and assorted plants. It is well kept and maintained. It was once Pier 54.
google avatar

Hope A.

Yelp
Love this park !! This place has always things to do and always to walk around the area . It's great place near the water to chill and in the summer there's a lot of nice performances
google avatar

Yelp
Little Island at Pier 55, between 13th and 14th Streets. This pier/ park has quite the backstory. Little Island was built from the remnants of Pier 54 which used to be owned by the British shipping/transport company Cunard-White Star. The pier served as the arrival and departure spot for Trans-Atlantic voyages, and some famous ships stopped here including the rescue liner carrying survivors from The Titanic. In 2018, work began on creating a $260 million Little Island. The structure is supported by 132 of these "pot-structures", emerging from the river and creating the garden's foundation. wowww, and you think this is just the park ;) Pier 57 rooftop offers a great view of this little island with WTC as a backdrop. The sun sets over the Hudson River, so if you come before sunset you'll be rewarded with a gorgeous view! Upon entering the garden (at the park's lowest point), is an area with plenty of expansive lawns for seating, sunning, and playing. Surrounding these lawns are tasteful play equipment for children and a 700-seat amphitheater. From afar, it appeared to float in the Hudson River! It is located between Chelsea and the Meatpacking District on the Hudson River, at Pier 55. It's easily visible from New York's Highline and is a short detour if you're walking along the Highline.
google avatar

Natasha R.

Yelp
Beautiful views of the city. Cleaned and very nice to walk around. There's a restroom in site that's always cleaned and it's right across Chelsea market if you get hungry. Been here a few times and will def continue to do so
google avatar

Bea R.

Yelp
Although I've lived nearly 15-20 minutes from NYC all of my life, I can't help but feel like a tourist. That's the beauty of the city, though... There's always something new. This past weekend I got the chance to visit Little Island, a public park in the Chelsea neighborhood. The park is a FREE attraction that offers a lot depending on what you're looking for. It's great for taking a stroll after eating at one of the many delicious restaurants in the area. You'll be able to enjoy the views of the city and NJ, so there's plenty of photo opportunities. The walking trails have gardens and mini "activities" like spinning chairs, dance chimes, and jump ropes. There's also an amphitheater that hosts free performances during the summer. If you're hungry, there are food kiosks in the playground area. Great addition to the neighborhood!
google avatar

Thea R.

Yelp
On my most recent visit to NYC my friend and I had Little Island on our bucket list. It did not disappoint! It was such a fun little spot to enjoy the sights and sounds. It was a gorgeous day so it was very busy and that did make it hard to enjoy it as much as we wanted to, but we still enjoyed finally being able to see it in person and how it's suspended from the water.
google avatar

Brandon L.

Yelp
This little island is a wonderful place to stroll around, feeling larger than it is due to its clever layout across multiple levels, accessible via ramps and stairs. The combination of landscaping and wooden features creates a harmonious blend of urban and natural elements, making it a unique spot. We spent some time sitting in the amphitheater area, enjoying the sunlight and taking in the views across to the New Jersey side. It's perfect for a leisurely walk, followed by a visit to the nearby food market or a short stroll to Chelsea Market just two blocks away.
google avatar

Amy W.

Yelp
What a great addition to NYC, I mean they really ADDED space. We strolled there after dinner at Chelsea Market. (Walking around here would make an EXCELLENT first date spot!). We lucked out and happened upon a musical rehearsal of an upcoming jazz show. With the water and the boats in he background this place is truly magical. If I lived in NYC I would subscribe to the shows -- which I believe are pretty reasonable at about $25/ticket. We then hiked the whole island and took some great photos. There are a bunch of stairs to get to the top, but it is still pretty if you are not in the shape to do the whole island.
google avatar

Mallory S.

Yelp
Fun and clean place with a lot to discover. Shows at night, beautiful paved walkways, and a great view from the top.
google avatar

Hillary P.

Yelp
A wonderful way to walk off some of New York's finest foods! Little Island, located on the west side (lower portion) of Hudson yards offers, free admission into a beautiful viewing platform of the city and Hudson River. Concerts are offered on a regular basis throughout the summer in the small amphitheater for reasonable prices. Check schedules and ticket availability. A great place to relax and people watch or listen to folks as they stop by and play on the piano situated right in the middle of the park.
google avatar

James d.

Yelp
A very cool little area with lots of family friendly things. Lots of greenery and unique views.
google avatar

Danny N.

Yelp
This was a cool free attraction in New York! The times I've been here, this hadn't existed so when I found it, I made sure to check it out. My wife and I walked around and enjoyed the atmosphere and views. Really cool to see and hang out!
google avatar

Jess W.

Yelp
The thing about little island is that you have to go during sunset to truly get the most out of it. If there is free concert even better and you will stay longer. Otherwise, you are going to think I've waited this long and that's it?
google avatar

Alan B.

Yelp
This was my first visit to Little Island. It's a really interesting little place and I enjoyed my visit here, even if it was on the crowded side. Opened in 2021, Little Island is a reimagined Pier 54, with unique architecture, lovely gardens and great views. They also offer entertainment, currently featuring The Marriage of Figaro ($25 per tcket). The island isn't large (thus the name), but definitely worth a visit.
google avatar

Tommy W.

Yelp
i was genuinely transported out of nyc when i went to little island, its free entry and you truly are in a different space when you're wandering around what seems to be a small island but it really expands once you're inside it. definitely a must go if you're near chelsea.

Yelp
This is a beautiful attraction in NYC that needs to be visited at least once. I've been several times now and never get bored. From the city and water views and artwork there's alot to keep your attention. They have different areas to sit and lounge. There's a small stadium like area for events and concerts. There are few vendors to get drinks or light snacks. Every time that I've visited its packed with people. However, it's very big so you don't feel like you're on top of each other. They keep the areas clean and it's something for all ages to enjoy. Definitely a must see for locals and tourists.

Yelp
Nice place for New Yorkers to visit on leisure! Like a mini botanical garden :) Live band and Summer venue and feel there's a lot more potentials!

Yelp
Probably one of my favorite sites while visiting NYC. I just can't help but to love looking at the giant concrete planters above water. The park is a hub for events, sightseeing, and taking a nice stroll. Really great free stop in NYC to check out.

Yelp
Gorgeous island right next to the high line! It's about a 5 minute walk and well worth the visit. I went there when they were having rehearsals for their musicals/shows throughout over the next few months. Their shows are only $25/person! Will definitely come back to see their fine-tuned performance! Mix of dancing with jazz music.

Yelp
The third-best park in Manhattan is not a must-see, but I would ask everyone in the area to make it part of their day trip when visiting Pier 54, the Whitney, High Line, Chelsea Market, and Starbucks Reserve, all within 800 feet. Barry Diller spent $280 million on this park. I appreciate having a beautiful, free park, but next time, don't get the guy who spent 1.9 billion on Ask Jeeves to be in charge of the budget. Basically, the 2.3 acre artificial island is a nice walk, with winding paths going uphill with seasonally changing, contrasting gardens (350 different species of flora), congregation areas, a small stage, lawns (2 small, 1 main), the 687 seat "Amph" amphitheater (the investors made sure 51% of ticketed events were under $30), observation points, a "secret garden" (all white flora), and art fixtures, including the Glockenspiel Sound Board, which plays six flat notes when stepped on. Think the piano from "Big"... blowing a booger out its nose.

Yelp
Such a gorgeous waterfront park! Perfect way to spend a day exploring Manhattan with the Chelsea Market, Pier 54, The High Line, Starbucks Reserve, and Little Island all be within walking distance (from each other. Little Island is very much a modern contemporary park, that hosts a windy trail leading to a lookout point, a small amphitheater, and little playground area. Very well kept and many pretty flowers in bloom. If you want to skip the crowdedness, try visiting on a rainy day midweek so you can enjoy most of the park with unobstructed views.

Yelp
A great place to walk on the water and see amazing views of the city!! They have a small amphitheater too!! They have it fully designed where you can do the stairs or ramps. It can get pretty crowded especially on the weekends.

Yelp
Boy it's hot It's never this hot in Brooklyn It's like Africa hot Tarzan couldn't take this kind of hot One of my favorite scenes from the film, Biloxi Blues NYC has been experiencing a month long heatwave. Since this was near the Chelsea Market and the Whitney Museum, we decided to take a stroll at this little osais in this concrete jungle. The paths are easy to walk with many plants and flowers to admire along the way. Not too much shaded spaces so make sure you put on that sunscreen and stay hydrated. When the sun sets, it offers a prettier ambience when the lights come on. The design is unique and seems to fit the NYC landscape. It kind of reminds me of Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay in Singapore. This was a good way to soak in some vitamin D and walk off all the goodies we ate. Fun Fact: Construction of the structure began in April 2018. It was opened to the public in May 21, 2021.

Yelp
Little Island is a place I would see from the Highland. But would run out of time or get caught up doing something else. Now, I know I was really doing myself an injustice. I found myself enjoying my time and not wanting to leave. There are many different stairs and twisting paths leading to something to do, like a musical instrument, and, of course, to some amazing views. It's plenty of sitting and nooks to tuck away and relax; people watch and watch the boats on the Hudson. Don't worry about food and water; there is plenty in the area to grab something and picnic. It's a spacious place, a beautiful place, so take your time and enjoy every inch of it.
