"One of Boystown’s longest-tenured gay bars is for sale during Pride month. A parcel of land is for sale on North Halsted Street that includes longtime bar Little Jim’s — which has been open since 1975 — and neighboring establishment Big Jim’s for a cool $7.5 million, Chicago magazine reports. They both currently remain open." - Daniel Gerzina

Great staff, cool decor, basic bar food menu options. Cool dive vibe, but a little bit classier. Cheese curds are crispy and amazing and served with a honey mustard sauce - game changer!

Love the new renovation. The food is typical bar food that I wasn't drunk enough to deem "noteworthy," though I enjoy it as my only option. Bartenders are friendly and they have a jukebox.

Biased because I work here but the bar itself is very mellow yet charming and fun. The staff is great ;-) friendly funny and attractive and the drinks come quick and definitely have libations

This is a hole in the wall bar....it was apparently the first gay bar that opened on Halsted in the 70's. It was the first place we walked to when we arrived in Chicago on a Sunday around 5/6pm and it was mostly empty and quiet. We got a drink and played a game of pinball and just relaxed and talked for a bit. We are from Kentucky, it was our first time in Boystown, and the bartender, Jim, was super friendly and funny and gave us local area info. One of the patrons bought us some drinks and we stayed and chatted with a handful of folks for a couple of hours. I'm not sure if it picks up at night, but if you are looking for a quiet afternoon break with friendly LGBT family that made some out of towners feel right at home, this is your place!

I loved the food. Good drinks. Our server was attentive and fun. My first visit was amazing. And it's a cute place to eat and or have drinks at.

Usually this is my first stop when I go back to Chicago for a cruising weekend, then I work my way further north. The bartenders here are always great, and the crowd is generally friendly and my age.... older! I really miss James.

I had some time to kill whist in Chicago so I stopped in here for a few hours. It was generally quiet, the service was fine, and the interior was fine as well. All-in-all an unremarkably good experience.

Cool dive bar in the middle of boystown. They expanded to Big Jim's the food is good there and the service is great. Great place to have a bite after hours.
