15 Exceptional Caribbean Restaurants in Los Angeles

"Little Kingston is one of LA’s best Jamaican restaurants offering classic dishes like pimento-spiced (allspice) rice and peas, meat and seafood stews, curries (the oxtails and goat curry are particularly good), ackee and saltfish, and jerk chicken that comes with a sweat-inducing sauce. The small outdoor patio in View Park-Windsor Hills makes the idea of island time in Los Angeles feel remotely possible." - Mona Holmes, Matthew Kang

The 10 Best Jerk Chicken Spots In LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"If you’re like us and prefer your jerk chicken unabashedly spicy, then Little Kingston is the place for you. Located just north of Inglewood in Windsor Hills, Little Kingston has converted its strip-mall space into a to-go window, allowing for easy, contactless pick-up—and even more time for you to sit in your car and take down an entire plate of wings on your lunch hour. If you aren’t feeling a full combo plate though, you can also just get a side of jerk chicken for $7, which by the way, is still a very good-sized portion." - Brant Cox, Nikko Duren

Oh my goodness, where to begin! Due to COVID my wife and I decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary by getting dinner from a local black owned business. Everything was really good. To start, their beef patties are the best in town! The jerk chicken plate was tasty, however, I was a bit saddened the the chicken didn't have more jerk flavor, and we asked for sauce on the side but were disappointed to see it was omitted when we got home. The salt fish plate was authentic which I appreciated, though not my favorite item on the menu. The cabbage and the rice and peas are both BOMB! Finally, we don't often eat oxtails but they did not disappoint! We will continue to support this place. Heads up, be prepared to wait a while unless you call ahead.

This place is outstanding! We had the short ribs, oxtails and a side of stewed chicken. I'm from Northern I wish this place was down there. Excellent customer service

I had jerk chicken it was really good and flavorful. My friend had oxtails and they all consisted of just fat literally no meat . When my friend brought it to the employee attention she just said “im sorry nothing i can do about that” I would of appreciated if they offered alternative meal or offered to give money back. Instead she offered nothing but an apology which doesn’t suffice for money spent and wasted.

I recently took my Jamaican born boyfriend here to get his seal of approval for this establishment. It was okay. Service was fair. I'm not running back here but if I'm in the area. The location is inconspicuous and unless you're a local or if not for the WEINERSCHNITZL signage you would miss it in a blink of an eye. The fresh ginger cucumber drink is very delicious. Curry chicken underwhelming and the oxtails was loaded with Browning additive.

I don’t know what those people are talking about. As for me??? The service was A1 and the food even better especially the jerk chicken, it was super authentic. I highly recommend trying out this restaurant. Next time I’m in LA I’ll most definitely be visiting again.

First time and the last time! Sixteen dollars for a curry chicken plate and the chicken was undercooked and bland. The skin on the chicken was slimy like the chicken was boiled and then the sauce was added. Customer service was friendly, but slow. Service is through a window due to the pandemic and masks are required.

As hungry as I was, after entering the establishment I only ordered 1 beef patty just to show support. However, it was more on the cold side and was surprised when the cashier said $4.83 I gave him 5 singles and he never made an effort to give me my change. 1st and last
