"Though it’s always good to be a Smorgasburg vendor, moving beyond the Downtown open-air market is often the goal of these upstart eateries. Longtime vendor Little Llama Peruvian Tacos hopes to move into a Downtown brick and mortar space this summer. Partners Angela Wagner and Peruvian-born chef Jean Valcarcel are deep in the restaurant permit phase, but hope to setup their beachy, chilled out joint inside a 2,300 square feet interior with a bonus: a 1,000 square foot wrap-around patio. Little Llama is a short block away from the Downtown Badmaash and Señor Fish. Little Llama’s four item Smorgasburg menu will expand at the new digs, where diners can build a meal with new tacos, salads, side dishes. The partners use organic, hand-pressed tortillas to hold pomegranate-glazed pork belly with fresh corn polenta and cotija, and beefy lomo saltado. Traditional drinks like marucaya and chicha morada will be available, but the new shop will add sangrias, beer, and wine as soon as the ABC license is approved." - Mona Holmes

A Magical Mystery Tour for Your Tastebuds. I love the pomegranate-glazed pork belly taco, and the Pescado Frito taco made with cod. Their additions in the tacos are awesome. Quite a fulfilling meal. I got their special #2 of two tacos and one side with a jarritos drink. And a spiced plantains side. So delicious. Fresh interior, clean, great service, indoor outdoor seating. Music at a level you can still hear each other. You can order from the kiosk or the cashier.

We ordered the special combo that included 2 tacos + side + drink for $18. We thought it was a great deal but unfortunately, our food arrived extremely cold. Flavor was good but the lomo was a bit chewy and the chunks were too big. If u want to try this place I recommend going to schmorgesborg. They make their tacos on the spot and we remember it being really good.

Google
Highly recommend!! I was a fan of their spot at smorgasburg so I had to come here! I tried the lomo saltado burrito and it was REALLY GOOD. My boyfriend is a huge fan of mushrooms so he got the mushroom quesadillas and he loved them as well. The food here is full of flavor, and you can taste every ingredient your item has. When I eat here, I completely feel like I’m in the movie Ratatouille and the flavors feel like colors exploding around me. I wish I was exaggerating.

Google
I thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I tasted both the lomo soltado and chicken burrito. The lomo soltado was nicely seasoned and cooked, I really like that it was cut into smaller pieces, making it easier to chew through. I have yet to try the chicken (will be my lunch tomorrow) and will update this review when I do. The cilantro rice was very tasty and highly recommend to pair with any of their main dishes. Loved their homemade salsas, in particular their cilantro sauce was amazing! They seem to only have one spicy salsa which maybe had a tad bit too much vinegar for my taste, but it was still tasty and spicy. Not sure if vinegar was the actual ingredient used, but it did give the sauce a bit of tanginess that I'm not a huge fan of, but that's just my taste preference. The inside of the restaurant was kept very clean and the food was served quite promptly, but there weren't many people there when I arrived. There is also plenty of seating as well as outdoor seating. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, ingredients and taste. I'm not sure if the restaurant offers gender inclusive restrooms, but if they do, that would be wonderful. I did find one piece of rice that was a bit hard because it was overcooked, but it was not a deal breaker nor will it deter me from coming back. Definitely will return and try others dishes.

We were unsure as to what to get. The lady behind the counter offered some help and I'm glad she did. The chips, guac, and tacos were delicious. We also had margaritas, they were small but mighty and yummy. The place is clean. They had an electric teller type thing for you to take your order so it was credit only. It was way to use and the order came out quick.

Google
Four days after having their tacos for the first time and we are still talking about them... We saw the spot by accident and stopped for a single vegan taco. Our only regret: we didn't order more. We will be back for sure!!! It was so so so so gooooooood

Google
My first eating here. The food was delicious. The size of their tacos... very generous.. i had two Asada taco with the grilled elote for my side and orange soda. The service was great! I wasnt that busy when we ate there. The place was really nice and clean. Great recommend this place.

Google
I met a Peruvian guy last year at a rooftop party in DTLA. He told me that Peruvian tacos are the best and a year later I thought about giving it a try. I don’t know what a Peruvian taco is but these three types of Peruvian style tacos blew my mind! I’ve had potato tacos before but never with an egg or feta sauce! I also got their lomo Saltado and shrimp tacos which was crispy and sweet with a little spicy kick (not too fiery) but a pinch! I’ll def come back to try the pomegranate and their quesadillas!

Yelp
Oh my lord. Talk about flavor. THOSE STEAK TACOS THOUGHHHHH!! They are insane. They are larger than traditional street tacos and loaded with meat and a delicious spread of potatoes and custom sauces The chicken tacos were also delicious, but they def had more of a chile/mole flavor, so be prepared. Beyond all of this. They were some of the most photogenic tacos I've ever laid eyes on Food truck & brick and mortar

Yelp
I was trusting the reviews, but I think San Diego and San Jose's tacos are really amazing. It was very unique to try though, but for the price too, I wasn't matching the value. Lomo Saltado Taco: ($6.50) very regular/ carne asada, the meat quality wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Esp for the price. But was an ok taco Pork Belly Taco: this one's cotija cheese was quite potent. the corn polenta was sweet which paired nicely. the pork belly was okay quality. this was 5 dollars at happy hour price (Mon to Fri 4-6pm) American Lager: happy hour 5 dollar price. Was pretty decent on draft, enjoyed it. I would try other taco places in LA.. maybe worth the first try, but if there was a long line, I would have been disappointed after trying. Luckily, there was no wait when I came during happy hour. Service is mostly self serve on the kiosk, you pick up your own food as well given my experience. The llama floaties are quite cute.

Yelp
Twist on Peruvian cuisine. Been here a couple of times now. Food is pretty solid. Great portions. They have a good mix of vegan options as well. I've tried the Lomo saltado bowl which is a solid choice. On my next visit I tried the nachos. Surprisingly good. Not your movie theater nachos for sure. These nachos have great flavor and visually look good. Place gets a little crowded during lunch time so there may be a wait. And you order through a kiosk. When your order is ready you'll receive a text and you pick up your order. Probably the only time you interact with an employee. There are tables inside or there is a small patio outside to dine at as well. I will come back and try other items for sure in the near future.

Yelp
Just bomb! I had OTMC for the glazed pork belly. I've tried to come in the past but once I made the trip and they were closed, this almost didn't happen as I had to circle the block 3x (which is my limit) for parking! Glad I stuck w it! I was promptly greeted by a jovial lady in all black. I had just eaten a big late lunch but wanted to take this home for later. I did the glazed of course, and tried a lomo saltado taco and a strawberry jarritos. I looked at the beautiful tacos in the box and had to take a bite. At the time, the P belly didn't stand out, but that lomo saltado?! I'm bout that life!!! Literally one of the best things you'll put in your face! I had just yelled at someone about potatoes in tacos. Yet here, it just worked. FLAWLESSLY. I swore I hated potatoes in tacos. LLl won't let me say that anymore. I will say that the pork belly got better when I ate it later. I also loved how she packed the food, w the jarritos in a bag. Details people! Sometimes carting a drink in a bag can be a load/balance or sogginess issue. Not here! No details left to chance! After this pawsitive experience I'll happily be back! Love the flavors, service and details!!

Yelp
Excellent find at Smorgasburg and arguably our favorite savory bites that day. Quality, taste, and the unique ingredients and flavor profile makes it worth your money, in my opinion. I'd love to check out their store to try the rest of their menu.

Yelp
Before taking off on my international excursion, I came to the downtown LA area on business. After getting done, I made the short drive to this taco place. I found parking along the street, and I lucked out by finding a spot just around the corner. I walked in to this clean and well-lit eatery. After perusing their menu, I decided on a bowl. I got some carbonated water, and I got my food in less than 10 minutes after ordering. The bowl was very tasty! It had some spice to it, which was a plus. The meat portions were decent, the rice had a nice texture, and the sauces added a punch of flavor. After getting done with my food, I felt great. I could tell that this place uses quality ingredients. This place has ample seating, with large windows facing the street and allowing a good amount of natural light in. It was a great experience overall, I would recommend this place.

Yelp
The quality and the cuteness is definitely worth a visit here! I got the combo with 2 tacos with a side and a drink. I chose the shitake taco and the lomo saltado taco with a side of patatas. By the time I finished the mushroom tacos, I could not even eat the other one. The reason being the tortilla is handmade and is a LOT thicker than your usual tacos. I really enjoyed it the first few bites, however it felt really heavy and oily after. I think they put a lot of lard/oil/butter into the tortillas. It tastes great at first, but very greasy after. Maybe wash it down with the Mango Cart beer lol. The tortilla also turned super hard the next day as leftovers, so I would recommend only ordering what you can eat in one sitting! Our group also shared the lomo saltado nachos, this was tasty and easy to share. I got the drink with half chicha morada and half passion fruit. I don't think it's that great mixed together and I would just have one or the other next visit.

Mark P.

Yelp
Loved this place. Great menu, great concept, everything I've eaten here was delicious. Really bummed out that they're closing their doors. Good luck to them in whatever they do next.

Arminda D.

Yelp
Loved the tacos! The fried fish tacos were great and so was the potato and carnitas. All tacos were small but loaded with flavors. Garlic was definitely one of the distinctive flavors. A little pricey but totally worth it. We got the carnitas quesadillas for the kids also, but I ended up eating them later lol. Not your typical quesadilla, but more like a taco. They were great. Ordering was easy. We didn't eat there, just had food to go.

Tiffany L.

Yelp
Tried this place out for the first time with my coworkers & we loved it!! I had the lomo saltado taco, with a side of cilantro rice. Yummmmmm! I will definitely be going back for more!

Eric J.

Yelp
Walk up and order, food served in less than 10 min for a group of 10. I shouldnt of ordered the bowl because everyone else's tacos, tostadas looked amazing. Cevhice looked. They also serve wine which is a nice surprise as well

Yelp
Lomo saltado burrito!! It's LA. The blending of these two cultures in food makes for good food. Little Llama fuses Peruvian dishes into tacos and burritos. Why not? Wrapping a lomo saltado into a hand dish makes sense. I've been here a few times and had the lomo saltado burrito. Marinated steak, roasted Yukon gold potatoes, flavored cilantro rice, huacatay ailoi and tomato escabeche makes for a delicious burrito. This steak is a bit salty but the cilantro rice and potatoes blend the saltiness out. The same could be said for the lomo saltado taco which is the size of two and a half regular tacos. Similar to the burrito but served in a handmade corn tortilla flat. Pescado frito taco is made to order and fish fried super crispy. Fish is beer battered cod serve with aji amarillo and cilantro sauce, cilantro and avocado. It's nomz. Definitely, another good choice. Sides here are pretty good. Blue corn tortillas and fresh guacamole is a tasty side and a must. Papas is served with huanacaina sauce, kalamata olive powder and cotija. Served freshly fried, I'd recommend this side as well. The next time around I'll have to try their seafood tostadas. I love Peruvian ceviche and looking forward to try. The quality of food at Little Llama is pretty good and worth a try. This place is two blocks or so from Grand Central Market right next to Vibiana.

Sophia Z.

Yelp
I tried their tacos at Smorgasburg and they were so good! Shiitake Saltado Taco -5/5 Would love it if they would add some more vegan options :)

Gloria R.

Yelp
Little Llama opened during the pandemic and it was walking distance from work, which made it so convenient to grab a bite to eat when so many places were closed. The decor was really cute and there were llama blow ups on most tables. My go to are the pollo a la brasa tacos and the maracuya drink. The tacos are filling and the drink is so refreshing. The service is spot on and I would definitely check them out. The only bummer is the parking, but what can you expect in DTLA. There is Joe's parking garage across the street and metered parking (if you're lucky).

Joshua G.

Yelp
FUXS GIVEN = 4.6 ******************* Food = 5 Yuuuuuuuupp, that's what I wanted today. Delicious Peruvian flavors delivered in my favorite vehicle the taco. UX = 5 Chill vibes kinda like a apple store mixed with Lush. Service = 4 Order at the counter, food took a minute but worth it.

Dani B.

Yelp
Everything about this place is perfect. The staff is always sweet, the managers remember your name and order, the food is always delicious, and this place is so clean you can eat off the floors. The tacos in this place are to die for! Especially the Sheyla tacos with the potatoes. Pair that with their delicious maracuyá drink, your day will automatically just become the best day ever. I am addicted! Thank you for existing!

Lisa P.

Yelp
Pretty disappointed in Little Llama, as I frequent this restaurant living so close. My go-to item was the Elote Camote bowl which included corn, arugula, broccoli, tomatoes, chicken breast, and avocados. This salad was my absolute favorite, with a variety of veggies and a beautifully cooked piece of chicken on top. We ordered take out as usual today, to find out that we did not get any chicken in our bowl. We thought it was a mistake during preparation, but the staff told us that they took the chicken off of the item! The salad is now lacking without the protein since the chicken was one of the hero ingredients, but they also kept the same price as what they charged with the chicken! The salad is now overpriced with the portion size and ingredients. Hoping they bring back the old salad, as I don't think I'll be ordering it from them in the future with this menu change.

Judy G.

Yelp
I was around the downtown area for jury duty and needed a quick lunch! I dined-in at Little Llama Peruvian Tacos. The only other Peruvian taco place I tried was Pablito's in Burbank so I wanted to compare. There was a $18 or $20 combo meal (I forgot the price) that included 2 tacos, cilantro rice and a drink. I ordered the lomo saltado taco and the elote-crusted shrimp taco and their maracuya (fresh passion fruit juice)! It was a good amount of food that i couldnt finish the rice :( The passionfruit juice was really refreshing!

Francisco M.

Yelp
I love the food however I don't see the point on giving 20%+ tip to dine in, if they are going to expect you to fully self-serve everything yourself. The person in the counter seemed bothered. They don't bring your food to your table. The lady in the counter was also not ready to open the counter, after 12. She pointed out where my food was for me to pick it up. No service at all. Unless they offer some kind of "service", to dine in, I'll give them ZERO tip and just order to go. The tip should go fully to the kitchen. Too bad the owner prefers the screen over a human, specially on a Peruvian restaurant.

Lisa D.

Yelp
So I was in the area and was looking for something to eat because I was getting HANGRY! My little family of 4 over ordered as usual. Ordered: *Lomo Saltado Burrito - now the burrito is super delicious! soooo good and flavorful. I highly recommend this if you are here to try Little Llama. *Lomo Saltado Tacos - Now after eating the burrito the tacos was just okay. It didn't have all the elements the burrito has so I think thats why it didn't taste as out of this world. If you had to choose, I say get that burrito instead of the tacos. *plain papas- i was imagining fries but they are actually huge chunks of potatoes. if you still with these potato chunks maybe make them smaller chunks. *tortialla chips $2 a bit pricey and on the salty side. *shrimp ceviche tostada- this was okay as well. i have had better shrimp ceviche tostadas. it wasn't very memorable and my taste buds was not blown away. When I came for a Sunday Lunch they got pretty busy and I felt like they were really short on staff. They do clean the table and offer water cups/jug if you are dining in. Staff service was okay nothing super special. I would definitely come back for just the lomo saltado burrito. I thought prices was a bit high and would highly recommend if they created a kids menu. We paid full price for regular lomo saltado tacos plain for our kids. Everything comes out very presentable and instagramable. If you love Peruvian food, I definitely would recommend giving this spot a try a different spin on Peruvian food. Tips: *street parking *indoor/outdoor seating *restroom available *they recycle *serves alcohol *can also be found at smorgasburg. *they sell little llama gear (hats/t-shirts) *Credit card accepted *they have a IG account.

Daw M.

Yelp
yes, it is pricey but I absolutely loved it! Loved the polenta over the much hyped elote. Everything was delicious. Service is very helpful and kind. Wait time is a little long but well worth it. Will definitely be back!

Bruce L.

Yelp
Really nice modern peruvian-mex fusion. I got the lomo saltado burrito along with a pork belly taco and a ceviche tostada. Everything was delicious, lightly seasoned but the flavors of the ingredients really shine through. I personally like things saltier but most people would be very pleased just the way it is. The ceviche comes with generous sized shrimp on top a bed of guacamole. The pork belly taco comes with so much meat, it just keeps falling out bite after bite! The corn puree-mash-whatever is so delicious as well. However, my favorite of the three as well as many have said is the lomo burrito. It has all the delicious familiar flavors of the entree but wrapped up in a burrito. What more could you want? Give them a try, you won't be disappointed!

Jody S.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place since they opened, but due to the pandemic I didn't have a chance until today. The menu description of the food is very intriguing and makes you want to order the different flavor profiles. Unfortunately, the food to me was very bland and disappointing. I ordered the combo which was two tacos, a side and a drink for $19. They had a special taco which was carnitas braised in Inca Cola, so I chose that one and a Pollo a la Brasa taco, elote for my side and a drink. Honestly, the drink and the corn were the most memorable part of the meal. The tacos lacked flavor although visually they were appealing. I may give them one more shot due to the ratings they have received.

Wendy P.

Yelp
The food here is packed with tons of flavor and texture. Although the tacos cost more than a street taco, it's worth to try. The tortillas are handmade in house and have a thicker texture to them. I came here twice in a week and ordered the juicy combo both times which includes 2 tacos of choice, a side and a regular drink. Pork belly taco - came with 3 slides of pork belly on top of polenta. This was my favorite! It's a sweet-savory taco garnished with pomegranate. Chicken taco - Not pictured. They give a generous portion of meat. I scooped half of it out and ate with the cilantro rice I chose for my side. Fish taco - The pepper gave it a nice kick. I ordered a side of potatoes which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside The passion fruit drink is the one I'd pick again!

Emma K.

Yelp
The pomegranate glazed pork belly tacos are so good! I love how the sweet polenta comes together with the pork belly and pomegranate. Such a beautiful sweet and savory balance.

Betty Z.

Yelp
My roommate told me about this place and I've been wanting to try it and I'm so glad I did! I love me some tacos, especially street tacos. The tacos at Little Llama are not your typical street tacos. They're a little larger and have a much more complex flavor - bougie tacos. I tried the Lomo Saltado, Pomegranate glazed Pork Belly, and the Shrimp Ceviche tostada. Let me tell you, that shrimp ceviche tostada was my favorite item. It was so good! Nice and bright and tangy but sweet with the mango and pickled red onion salsa all on top of a crunchy blue corn tortilla along with some guacamole. It was the perfect combination of everything that I like and so delicious. I would highly recommend. For the tacos (which are all on freshly pressed corn tortillas) I really liked the Lomo Saltado. How could you go wrong with steak and potatoes right? The pomegranate glazed pork belly was good too. Very unique especially because it sits on top of a sweet corn polenta but I definitely enjoyed the flavor of the Lomo Saltado more. These tacos are a little pricier but it's because they're much larger than your standard street tacos and much more filling. They really stuff them! I was only able to finish half my food (more for later!) so be aware of that when ordering. I can't wait to try the other items on their menu!

Maria P.

Yelp
Best Tacos I've ever tried!!. -Everyone who takes a bite of these little llama tacos. "Sorry Peruvian in law" but these are amazing.

Jillian G.

Yelp
I first spotted Little Llama at Smorgasburg and was thrilled to find their brick and mortar location close to my work. I got three tacos, but two would have been more than enough given how filling they are. My favorite was the spicy plantain taco, which was not too spicy, but super flavorful. Cost is reasonable, and there are good seating options indoors and outdoors. I'll definitely be back.

Rebecca J.

Yelp
I would give it three stars for overdoing it on the salt and sauces , but the decor and aesthetics are too darn cute . The girl who took our order was happy to give us recommendations and even let us try the half and half chica morada and mayacucua. After I got over the cute decor and started to enjoy the tacos the first thing I noticed were the dense and homemade tasting corn tortillas . Second thing that stood out was there yummy green sauce on top of the lomo saltado taco . I would not recommend the Papa a La Huancaina Taco... the sauce was getting everywhere and staining my hands yellow . Maybe user error lol ! If I came here again I would stick with a lomo saltado taco ... but i did think it was strange it was missing the onions and soy sauce flavors of traditional lomo . Tasted more like a Mexican taco .

John R.

Yelp
Well, it's a long flight to Lima but you can get your Peruvian tacos fix here in DTLA! Try the chicken or the beef for a flavorful taste. And the cilantro rice is fabulous. And, yes, they also carry Cusqueña in bottles. Outdoor dining in their private patio off the street gives you respite for the stresses of the day. Another plus is that their to-go boxes are easily recycled!

Rob G.

Yelp
We've been eating at Little Llama since they started at Smorgasburg years ago - love their brick and mortar location! The flavors are always on point, everything is made fresh to order and the service is always excellent. Plenty of inside seating, and two outside patios. You can't miss with any of the tacos, but don't sleep on the tostadas - they're all so different and delicious. I can't recommend this place enough.

Eriko M.

Yelp
This place finally opened on main st in little Tokyo. And I'm so glad it did! I was absolutely amazed by the food. I got three tacos: lomo saltado, pollo a la brasa, and limited time pork one(I forget exactly what it was called). And I got blackened broccoli as a side. Everything was so flavorful! It's first of all very colorful and pleasing to the eye. The flavors were so robust and complex. The spices on the meat with the sauce and the potato/red onions came together so nicely. Definitely will order again. The decoration is cute inside. They also have a patio for outside seating but sadly dine in is closed due to COVID.

Richie D.

Yelp
I would sum it up with two words, Big Flavors! If you like big flavors, you'll love this place. They tried combining Peruvian ingredients inside tacos but I found it overwhelming for my taste. Every bite had big flavors, which I found hard to enjoy trying to take in all of the flavors incorporated in a taco. I tried their lomo saltado taco and pollo a la brasa taco. The lomo saltado taco was nice. I liked how they had the smashed potato ball under the marinated angus steak. I'm not a big fan of yellow corn tortilla, but it comes with it. The portions in the taco is generous that they even give you utensils because it's so much for the tortilla to hold. The pollo a la brasa had the same idea but with marinated chicken and pickled red onions. The chicha morada? Unfortunately watered down and too sweet. It lacked body, cinnamon and lime. I guess I'm a purist when it comes to Peruvian food. It is great when it's left alone. Let Peruvian cuisine be and let tacos be. Loved the colors and the branding, cute place in downtown, nice staff, but the food falls a bit short for me.

Michael 9.

Yelp
I was working nearby and decided to try this joint. The place inside is decent, the $6.50 taco that I had was good. The problem that I had was with the cashier, Patricia I think was her name. She was short with her answers, never smiled, not friendly, seemed like I was bothering her with my two questions...just very cold . When my order was ready, the other employee put my food in a bag and Patricia told her to take it out. I don't understand why and I believe it to be rude. I was taking the food to go. I just grabbed my food and left. I'll never go back!

Sandy L.

Yelp
My first time tried it and it was so delicious. Highly recommended, you won't regret it. I have to warn you, the wait time is a bit long and if you have the time, it's well worth the wait.

Sammy T.

Yelp
After ordering food from Badmaash, I decided to get a small snack for myself while I wait for my food. I got the Pollo a la Brasa Taco and Lomo Saltado Taco. Tacos are good but I'm definitely coming back for more so I can taco bout how delicious is the taco. The lady in front was very accomodating and pleasant that she was very professional and hospitable.

Tim H.

Yelp
Street metered parking around the block Customer service was amazing from start to finish from everyone onsite. Lomo Saltado Burrito =100% RECOMMENDED Garlic & ginger marinated certified angus steak, crispy yukon gold potatoes, cilantro rice, huacatay aioli, tomato escabeche Shrimp Ceviche Tostada (DF, GF) = NOT BAD BUT WOULDN'T GET AGAIN Aji amarillo leche de tigre, mango & pickled red onion salsa, cumin guacamole Papas (Veggie, GF) = 100% PASS definitely not worth $5 for a small cup Roasted gold yukon potatoes, huancaina sauce, kalamata olive powder, cotija

Yelp
What a great new addition to the neighborhood! Big props for opening a new restaurant during these times of Covid! I'm a big fan of Peruvian food and a big fan of tacos so this place just makes sense to me. Little Llama is located near the corner of 2nd Street and Main Street on the street level of the new apartments there. The food is delicious, I was actually pleasantly surprised at how good it was. The hit for me was the Lomo Saltado burrito. The beef is super juicy and flavorful and the potatoes are nice and crispy. It's not like the typical lomo saltado I'm used to with the onions and french fries mixed in, but delicious nonetheless. The tortillas they use for the tacos and burritos taste fresh and I can appreciate the quality. All the other sides were great, nice fresh guacamole and chips and the elote is what you want and expect from the dish. Overall super happy with my visit and I'll be back!

Kanokpech N.

Yelp
Delicious food! We ordered 4 different kind of taco and love every one of it. The portion and quality was great. If only I live closer, I'll be there weekly.

Jana H.

Yelp
We found ourselves here because it was featured in the Westways AAA magazine and it did not disappoint. Our only disappointment was that we did not try more things! Everything was great. Item breakdown: -Blackened broccoli: had an amazing pesto of some sort on top with great flavor and roasted pepitas. The crunch and combo of flavors was perfect. The tortillas of the tacos and quesadilla were super thick and provided great flavor. -Lomo Saltado taco: the meat was really tender and extremely flavorful. Loved the cherry tomatoes and sauce on top to compliment the flavors. So much meat packed onto one little taco! -Pork Belly taco: really unique with polenta and pomegranate seeds, but the flavors were a great blend and the pork was equally tender. -Shiitake mushroom quesadilla: a little bit spicy with some pickled peppers, but the mushrooms tasted tenderly marinated and the Oaxaca cheese was a great consistency and blended great with the mushrooms. Both sauces it came with were amazing and enough to take some home! Definitely want to try more! Highly recommend.

Yelp
Very cute, bright, and open place. Lots of vegetarian options from burritos to tacos to guac and chips. I went with a shiitake mushroom taco, potato/salted egg taco, and guac and chips. I was worried the shiitake mushroom would be overpowering, but was pleasantly surprised and it actually ended up being my favorite thing I tried. The salted egg and potato was very unique and rich, and not your typical potato taco. Overall I would definitely come back if just to try the shiitake burrito ;)

Yelp
This is a cute little Peruvian spot that my friends and I were waiting for them to open. And I can say it was well worth the wait!! They've only been open a few days now, but they've had a steady stream of customers already. I guess word of mouth travels fast. I ordered their pomegranate glazed pork belly tacos. They were delicious!! The tortilla is made from scratch by hand, the pieces of pork belly was a generous portion. The pomegranate gave the right amount of tartness to complement the taco. Also the taco was stacked pretty high, I couldn't close the taco. I had to eat my taco with a fork and knife, (which was already provided by the restaurant). They thought of everything! I do wish they would make a Pork Belly burrito. Please stop by and support this local business. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I'm so glad I decided to try this gem of a place!! Although I was near Little Tokyo wanted to try something different and saw they had just opened. We ordered at the counter where everyone was masked and behind a plexiglass. They'll give you a number and bring food to your table. Outdoor seating available in front of the restaurant and side patio. Restroom available for guests. We ordered the Shrimp Ceviche tostada, 2x Pomegranate-Glazed Pork Belly taco, and 2x Lomo Saltado taco. Shrimp Ceviche Tostada had a heaping pile of guacamole that was a differently seasoned from traditional guacamole. There was a stronger taste of cumin. It complimented the pickled onions and mango really well. Shrimp were cooked, plump and medium sized. Lomo Saltado taco was fiance's favorite. This had the most traditional flavors out of all the dishes we ordered. Meat portion was generous, flavors strong, and fresh ingredients. The green huacatay aioli was so good. I would buy this in a bottle in a heartbeat. Pomegranate Pork Belly taco was very different from anything I've had. Smashed corn and polenta, braised pork belly in a pomegranate glaze, and a few pieces of pomegranate seeds. Interesting textures and unexpected flavors that I would have never expected to go together. Its unique but it worked! Overall I REALLY liked Little Llama and recommended it to friends the same day. Would love to try Chef Jean's Re Creo supper club one day.

Yelp
I am not from this area but visit LA about three to four times a year. I was here in March and stumbled upon this place. Had the shiitake mushroom, pork belly, and carnitas tacos. All were delicious- couldn't get enough. Kept going back for more. Back in town, I visited the place and got shiitake, carnitas, and pork belly. First, I ordered through a tablet. No person to take my order. That's fine. But then I was asked about leaving a tip and the default was 20%. Why would I tip if no one is even taking my order? I felt bad and left a 10% tip for the cooks, I guess. The tacos were disappointing - VERY disappointing. Pork belly was dry and hard. The shiitake mushrooms were NOT shiitake. Flavor was very vinegary. The carnitas tacos were good. I spent $42 and ended up eating only two of the five tacos I ordered. Threw three in the garbage. Maybe they have a different cook. Maybe it was day's old food. Maybe they don't care to make good quality food. I wasted my time and my money.

Yelp
Loved everything about Little Llama. The service was too notch as well as the food. The Huancaina Taco was my fave with the piece of hard boiled egg on top. There was something about the cheese sauce on the tacos. Oh my! I also had the elote shrimp taco which was another fave. The place was so cute also with the pretty leaves painted on the wall and some llama decor in the mix. Loved it!! It's definitely a place coming to more than once! Thank you for an all around delishy goodness experience!

Yelp
I came here after visiting my wife for her nastyyyy 19th. Joseph A. put me on since he went last week and the food looked too good! I ordered the Shiitake Saltado Burrito and it was a good 4 stars. The burrito is vegan and consist of green rice, mushrooms, and potatoes, and tomatoes with a side of green sauce. I don't know the specific name of it. If the mushrooms weren't salty, then this could have easily been a 5 star review. Wrap, potatoes, rice, and tomatoes were perfect. I loved every bite, but every bite that mad mushroom was too salty for my enjoyment. But again, still pretty good. Just wish I tasted more seasoning in the mushroom rather than JUST salt. The atmosphere is very clean and comfortable. I came in the late evening, so I was the only one there, but I still felt comfortable and dined-in. The music that was playing wasn't too loud, so I enjoyed my Lupin(Netflix show) in peace, haha. The cashier and woman who was sitting on the side were both helpful. After my meal I was abke to get a to-go box for the other half of my burrito and a lid for my sauce. Friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere, and yummy food :)

Yelp
Decent food, I ordered the shitake vegan burrito. Was really filling. Saved the other half for later. Ordered the broccoli side and the potatoes. The girl that helped me on a Saturday night was really nice and helpful.

Yelp
Fricken' delicious food! FOOD I have not had a taco I didn't love here. Pork belly, shiitake mushrooms, shrimp....the flavor combos, the creativity, the overall party in my mouth! The food is a delight. I keep saying I'll try all the other yummy sounding things on their menu but then I just can't stop myself from ordering their tacos. SERVICE Lovely friendly staff. It's a casual joint. Order at the counter and the will bring the food to your table. Will I be back? Absolutely again and again...!

Yelp
Late review. We went a few months back. This was our first time having Peruvian food. I honestly don't know how I've never had it before, but there it is. We got every taco on the menu. We loved every taco on the menu. I recommended the place to a Peruvian coworker. I wanted to get the opinion of an expert. She went about a week later and reported back to me. Raves!! She and her husband loved everything they got and ordered some food to bring home to their kids. The place is super cute and I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Oh man these little tacos were packed with flavor. The wait (25-30 minutes at Smorgasburg LA) was definitely worth it. Super affordable, amazing ingredients, superb taste. They definitely added many toppings and their tortilla was made fresh/handmade, AMAZING! I would wait in this line for hours for another taco .
