Highlights

Our dishes vary from a range of boards, charcuterie, cheese, Mojama (dry-cured tuna) etc to a selection of cold and hot dishes, including vegetarian (Please don't expect Patatas Bravas on the menu, as we aim to be a little more exciting than that). We change the menu fortnightly, replacing at least two or three dishes thus making sure you always have something different to try. *We are currently taking bookings at loculto@flavoursofspain.co.uk

"A wine shop-cum-tapas bar serving a lavish array of Spanish ingredients, each dish at L’Oculto is a stand-out. The establishment is a labour of love from the owners of Flavours of Spain, an import business that buys all of of its sherry, cheese, ham and cava directly from suppliers across the Iberian Peninsula. Locals pack the restaurant to sip minimal intervention wines and snack on the creations of Galician chef Irene Loreno Muñoz: standards like pan con tomate and sweet flan with sherry cream are excellent, but watch out for specials like tortilla vaga, an open tortilla of runny eggs, poached onion, sea urchin caviar and fried parsley." - David Paw

Tapas is a simple thing. Simply the best ingredients served with the finest natural and small batch wine and spirits. All selected personally from the best Spain has to offer by the highly knowledgeable friendly and attentive staff. Not just a great local restaurant, lunch time cafe, delicatessen and wine shop but one of the best places to eat in London.

I love love love this please. Best Tapas in London. Actually best Tapas I have ever tasted! It even beats the Tapas I have had in Spain! The ladies work wonders in the kitchen. All the staff are fantastic and are full of passion and knowledge about the food and wine they serve. This place is a must try, then try again and agian!

Tiny place. Chef came out and explained every dish on the menu to us and where all the ingredients came from. Surprising experience, but great knowing they care about their ingredients so much! Great wine list. Food was served tapas style so great for sharing. It came a bit slow and portions were small, but because we had to wait so long between each plate we were comfortably full by the end of the meal.

We are regulars at L'Oculto, as the standard of food is always excellent, the service is great, and the pricing really affordable. Always guaranteed to be a wonderful night. Unfortunately our last visit coincided with Valentine's Day, so they were busy and service was very slow, which ultimately meant we were kicked out without having finished our meal. This tarnished our evening somewhat, but we will probably continue going - just not in Feb!

This is a lovely little place. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is really authentic and intimate, and the staff are both very welcoming and really knowledgeable about Spanish food and wine. We've been twice now, and we loved it on both occasions. We'll be back very soon.

Unfortunately this restaurant did not live up to my expectations. I had booked a table for 4 for my birthday meal; on arrival I was told that the system had not registered my booking request, and I was expected to have followed up with the restaurant after I had booked on their website. We were offered a table outside on the busy main road, and no apology or workaround (maybe coming back at a later time?) was given. I was told that their booking system "sometimes doesn't work properly". There was no promise to fix this or remove the booking functionality from the website and replace it with email. We were only told that we had to email for future requests. We decided to share a bottle of wine and order some snacks before heading over the road - there was no offer of any complimentary food or drinks by way of apology, and we were given just bread instead of the bread and oil that we ordered. I understand that sometimes technology fails, but I had been looking forward to this meal for months. I told the waiter that it was my birthday meal but was mostly ignored. I am extremely disappointed by the whole experience. Whilst the food and drink we did have was delicious, the customer experience could be improved.

A cosy place with friendly staff offering excellent, albeit expensive, tapas and wines. The food is good, while the portions are small – not an equation that generally bothers me – but I did leave hungry, which isn't ideal: the selection for non-meat eaters is limited. Still, a good local option to check out.

Yelp
Passed by the address after seeing this listing since we were staying in the neighborhood but appears to no longer be open. Too bad because it looked good.

Yelp
Amazing local Spanish Treasure in the middle of Lewisham. I lived in Madrid for 4 months & this place is the real deal. Come check it out the owners & the staff are a pleasure to get to know.

Yelp
"Hidden" (as the name suggests) local gem in Lewisham/Brockley, that's well worth checking out. Lovely tapas in a cosy friendly atmosphere. Love the chorizo, lamb and prawn . I enjoyed the dessert wine recommended - I don't know much about wine but they seemed to have a good selection
