Got a kebab platter, chicken platter & meatball platters. All the meat was delicious & the rice was soft & flavorful. I just wish they would put a little more meatballs in the meatball platter. Hummus is perfect 👌. They have a few tables inside but it's a bit congested & they also have outdoor dining space.

New Update: Went on July 13th at 12:55 PM ordered lamb shank, no vegetables were given besides potatoes - very disappointed. Lamb shank was great! Old Reviews: Went here on a Sunday during Iftar time, was told about the iftar plate for $18.99 which was an egg, dates, 2 Moroccan snacks and a soup. I don’t know if I’m missing it but $18.99 is a ridiculous price to charge. Anyways got the Lamb Shank and the Meat Platter both were really good, I do recommend checking it out. Total came out to $52 including tax for both meals - so on pricier side too but give it a shot However gets really busy during iftar time, so service does lack.

Great food, great prices. Meat was falling off bone and melt-in-your-mouth. This whole meal pictured below cost a grand total of $60.

As a Moroccan, I can confidently say that Little Morocco is the most authentic Moroccan restaurant in NYC. The flavors and dishes are just like home, with every bite transporting me back to Morocco. The tagines, couscous, and mint tea are all exceptional. The warm and inviting atmosphere, along with the friendly staff, make for a truly enjoyable dining experience. If you’re looking for genuine Moroccan cuisine in NYC, Little Morocco is the place to go!

Great food, really can’t ask for much more! The lamb fell off the bone so easily and was extremely flavorful — make sure to get some lamb or chicken. The kebab plate we ordered was amazing too, and the slices weren’t dry at all! (and were seasoned perfectly) Some of the best I’ve had. It was great having Moroccan food again, I would definitely recommend you try it out!

This is by far the best Halal Morrocan home cooked style food in NY. NJ. CT. PA. Hands down the best of the best! Thank you very much for giving us the best experience!

Delicious tajine found. The price is game winner in such good quality dishes. Merguez Sandwich is so impressive. I tired whiting plate the fish were fried fresh and juicy. I highly recommend.

Small neighborhood joint serving Moroccan casual food. It's a counter where you order what you want and they bring it to your table. It's an informal setting but they had good options of grilled meats as well as tagines. Got the mixed meat platter- it was seasoned well- however the price which is around 26-27 dollars was high for the amount of food you get and how casual the restaurant was. It was a good platter to sample a little bit of everything though.

whenever I miss eating some homemade food from back home, this is my go-to. All the dishes are well served with a great amount and enough tastiness to fulfill your desire. Service is quick and easy, and I love the outdoor seating area.

I usually don't leave bad reviews but this was the most disgusting food that I have ever had in my life, they are just about money, there was dead fly in mu food. Do not recommend, non sanitary place and should be shut down.

Had the lamb shank tahini and vegetables - this was super flavorful and tasty at a very reasonably price!

A small hole in the wall restaurant that we stumbled upon. I've never had Moroccan food so I was quite excited. The chicken was really juicy and tender. And the meat slipped right off the bond. All the salvors really worked well together. There is seating under a tent outside of the restaurant, which is where we sat and it was quite cold even though there was a heater nearby

Ordered Zaalouk and chicken tagine and what arrived was Baba Ghanoush and chicken over rice. The "tagine" has no sauce. The item on the menu did not mention rice. It said vegetables and chicken. I politely called to have my order corrected and they hung up on me. I was excited to try this Moroccan restaurant but my experience was not great.

The food was amazing. A meal i will certainly not forget! look forward to coming back and trying something else on their menu. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. PS: they let you eat first and then pay which I liked.

I live nearby so this is my go-to place if I'm ever in the mood for fries and lamb. They honestly have the best thin fries in the neighborhood, and they give you so much for 5$ for a large. My favorite side is zaalouk. I recommend the merguez platter (as pictured). Sometimes they give me a side of salad instead of peas tho. One time I ordered a tangine to go, and portion of it was way too small in my opinion.

I enjoyed their mint tea. They pour hot tea into a cup with fresh mint in it. The tea was hot and refreshing. The service was good. They have outdoor seating. It seems to be a popular place because they were people coming and going. I will decibel visit this place again for the tea and to try their dishes.

Don't expect much for the decor, however they serve great Moroccan food. The staff are so friendly and kind. The place is very tight and weather permitting there is outdoor seating. The can get extremely busy and depending on the time of day have long lines for service. Besides the food being so delicious they are affordable.

Love how authentic the food & vibe is here, you order inside, pull up a chair on their sidewalk seating and eat the yummiest traditional Moroccan food across a beautiful mosque. Get the lamb merguez platter, soooo good!

I came in Friday night with my boo. You know what that means, COUSCOUS! We sat in there covered outdoor space and when the food was brought to the table and I was pleasantly surprised. Two ginormous plates of couscous with meat and vegetables, topped off with sweet mixture of caramelized onions and raisins. We also got a side of harira soup because it was a freezing and we needed something to warm us up. The food was delicious! Everything was well seasoned and so tender. The bf finished all his food but there was just too much for me. We took it home along with some stuffed msemen and another bread that I forget the name of. Definitely coming back

Lamb shank under a pottage of fresh veggies , resting on a bed of couscous and juices , all for under $20. I sucked the marrow dry. Cafeteria food , but gourmet cafeteria food.

Delicious and cheap Moroccan food! It's also Halal. The inside is a bit cramped with a couple of stool seating, but there are outdoor tables. I had the merguez sandwich, chicken tagine, and sweet paratha all for under $20. They were all delicious! The lamb merguez sandwich was flavorful and not dry. The bread was also very good, slightly crispy on the outside and not hard. I didn't even need a drink to wash it down. The tagine dishes comes with rice and two vegetable sides (potatoes and peas) which were all delicious. The only negative is that the breast part of the chicken was a bit dry but that's always the problem when cooking chicken. I would definitely come back again!

Yelpers have helped this girl decide what was on the menu on a saturday afternoon! This was a few blocks from my fiance. Apartment so we walked in to this little corner spot checked out the menu and places our order. Ill be honest i had to look up prior to coming what a tagine is. Once i looked it up its the type of way food is prepared in a certain dish and fluted top lid.. ive seen them before i thought. I just didnt know what they were called! I ordered the chicken tagine which came with rice and two sides. The nice gentlman added some eggplant whicj i said sure. Not knowing what it was and some red sauce. I choose potatoes and peas. My fiance ordered the lamb kebab platter. He was happy to know his lamb had to be cooked fresh. Once mine was put together i wanted to pay for the order and this guy said is this your first time here i said yes and he said here you eat first then pay. Mind you they also only take cash! Here is my 101 on the delicious meal Rice- super tender Potatoes. Perfectly cooked Eggplant caponata like topping my favorite Peas- In a beautiful lightly oiled Chicken-fall off the bone tender. Well seasoned super moist! Finally time to pay our bill and he gave us some moroccon tea to try. I loved the old world kettle it was huge but definitely an antique! Ps he has a fancy was of pouring it which i was impressed with. The tea was perfect slightly sweet. Had a generous amount of fresh mint and refreshing... We were headed to look for some fateer so we went to the bakery next door and they actually pointed us back to the Little Morocco place. So i walked in and inquired. I think the moroccon version of an Egyptian fateer. Was really good it didnt look the same but had the flavors there. They warmed it and folded some honey into it. He said this will go perfect with the tea too go ahead sit back down i will bring it to you! Not only was the food super reasonably priced. The food was excellent. The guys went above and beyond to make out first experience here something to rave about! We will be back!

No clue how there are so many 4 stars and 5 stars. I ordered the lamb kebab platter with french fries and I came home to see only a handful of lamb. There were vegetables in it too. I thought I was going to receive rice but I only got a small normal bread to eat with it. What a waste of money, the lamb did not even taste good. I could cook better than what is being served here.

Absolutely delicious food and lovely ambiance. Do yourself a favor and eat here. (I'll elaborate on this review when I get the time.)

I'm giving 5 stars for many reasons, the food is amazing, real homemade meals. The service is great and the staff is very friendly. It's also very clean, I enjoyed my experience at little morocco.

Came for iftar. Not sure what I paid for $16. Non of the workers understood English. It a very embarrassing when you are with your wife and get nothing but 3 dates, cup of milk and one boiled egg. Lol. Seriously after that only thing came to our table bowl of soup. At that point I asked when are we getting chicken or fish which was part of the 16$ special. Well one man suddenly came and literally wanted us to leave even though my wife ordered something else from the regular menu. Anyway I don't want to give them 1 star but surely they need to keep things professionally. And it's haram to charge anyone where you didn't provide as promised.

This small restaurant is always very popular. Inside seating is limited. It's too cold to sit outside so inside the restaurant is packed. When the weather is nice, many people chill in outside seating but when it's cold it seems like many people just quick eat and go so more people will be able to eat there. I never got tajine with tajine plate before but I go there often enough? I always get tajine plate now. It helps food to stay hot. I don't know how they decide the price. One day very very low price. One day it gets little more but still good price. Sometimes I get little bothered by getting defferent prices from the same food I ordered before. The food is worth the price anyway. Many workers don't speak good English but they are all very nice and friendly. Please just be patient. I have been trying to tell them I dont want green peas but they kept giving me so I gave up and eat them. Yeah, I can eat green peas now. They are actually good.

This place is really great. The food is super amazing. You know a place is good when natives eat there themselves. I had the lamb, my friend had the fish. Both on the bone. The flavor was amazing, not gamey at all! the fish was fresh and really moist. The flavor was great. The staff did not speak english too well, but they are very friendly and try their best. I would say, pay before you eat, check the prices. A native in the restaurant told my friend and I they tend to charge non-natives more. My favorite was the tea with fresh mint. I highly recommend this place!!!

This neighborhood joint serves authentic, hearty Moroccan and other Middle Eastern food with brisk and friendly service. I came here for dinner on a cool, breezy evening, perfect for sitting outside. There are few table in the cramped space indoors, so eating outside is definitely preferred if dining in. My boyfriend ordered the chicken meatball platter ($9), which came with a generous portion of yellow rice, vegetables, and a tomato-based sauce. I ordered the lamb shank tagine ($12), which also came with similar sides. We absolutely loved our orders. The lamb was so tender and flavorful, as were the vegetables. More disappointing as the msemen bread, which was heated upon request but came out very dry and somewhat hard. I think it had been sitting out for a while, and was not fresh, soft, crispy, and flaky as I was expecting from my time in Marrakech. Msemen to this day is the one of the things I remember most about my time in Morocco in 2009, and I seek it out whenever I can. This version, alas, was a far cry from perfection. Service was a bit slow--we had to ask for water and our msemen twice--but given the value and quality of food, that can be forgiven. Overall, a wonderfully satisfying meal experience.

The best food ever and you can't beat the price. I literally go there every week. I just can't enough. Since I discovered...I have been hooked. The service is amazing. Everyone is so nice. Don't go by the looks. It's better than any food I have ever had in my life. The quality of the food is so good and so flavorful and healthy home cooked food.

This place isn't as tasty as Cafe Mogador, but Mogador is pricy and also the owners don't practice voodoo and witchcraft. Which makes them very boring. Whereas the owners of LM do. In that sense, they are a "Little More-Occult." What to get: Maybe the Merguez Sandwich What else: Don't let them put a curse on you By the way, I am well aware that Morrocco is not associated with voodoo. I've actually been to Morrocco. Now who wants to touch me. The service at Little Morrocco was decent but not amazing. Parking is tough. I had to wait in a bus stop. The wait time was long, which was a little frustrating since I was in a hurry. I ordered the Merguez sandwich, which was pretty cheap (well under $10). I wanted an actual Morroccan meal dish (such as with Couscous) but they were either unavailable or overpriced (depending on what I asked about), and a lot of them were sitting out buffet-style so that didn't seem worth the steep-ish prices. Which is why I plumped for the sandwich. My notes say that this sandwich was "nice but not amazing" which is exactly how I feel about it. Also I love olives, and I asked if olives were on the sandwich and he said "okay." I guess he must have thought I meant no olives, because there were no olives on there. I would have probably enjoyed it more if there were. My partner loved it, and I did enjoy it to some degree, but I think part of my issue was that the Merguez really didn't taste of anything. I can't really remember what Merguez is supposed to taste like, but I remember it having a very unique flavour, whereas this was a very bland meat. A nice sandwich, but nothing more than nice. And if you're used to having 6 and 7 inches to play with at night, but you want some Latin guys who are more like an "8", then what you need is a "Little More Ocho."

Fast service, cheap prices, good portion and nice outdoor seating. Try not to sit towards the back, I think that's where the bathroom is and don't go late at night, all the good stuff finishes. If you don't like your meat reddish, make sure you ask them to have it well done. For a halal place, I would expect the meat to be well done. I didn't like that I was able to taste blood..

Fresh homemade taste food. Great friendly service. Clean environment. I had the couscous with lamb. I tasted the Harira soup and the lentil soup that are very good. I liked the mint tea. The sandwiches look great too. I will come back.

I was here yesterday. I liked their lamb kebab, but there were long lines, no line management and their outdoor seating with rusty chairs had seen better days. Note they are a halal restaurant. Their menu is reasonable. $7.00 for the kebab sandwich

Great corner restaurant in Astoria. I've been twice now, and both times were wonderful. Prices are cheap, the staff is nice, and the Moroccan mint tea is a fun treat/drink to add to your meal as it comes in a beautiful silver pot with matching cups. We ordered a smattering of things to share with friends. The leg of lamb was incredibly tender, the kebabs well-seasoned and grilled, and the vegetables went perfectly with the couscous and rice. I might have actually liked the vegetables (peas and potatoes) most of all, which sounds odd but they were THAT good.

The food here is AMAZING! I highly recommend the chicken schawarma, and if you get the chance, talk to the owner, Mr. Atif. He's a super nice guy from Morocco and will talk to anybody. Highly recommend!

The meat was tender and the overall quality of food was alright. The outside dining area of this restaurant can use a little cleaning up.

This is one of the best ethnic cheap eats you can come across, the staff is extremely nice, you won't believe how nice they are, a kid broke the table next to us (marble or stone), the owner/manager ran quick to assure the kid who was crying, brought him juice and kept checking on him and if he was okay. He was extremely nice to us as well, he apologized excessively because the forgot to take our order. The food was really good, the price was super descent. No complaints at all. Great place

To keep it simple, Little Morocco is home to flavorful food. I'm a huge fan of the merguez, which is a spicy beef sausage (from North Africa) and I've recently tried the chicken meatballs here, which has also become one of my favorites! I typically get mixed vegetables and peas on the side of rice, which are always cooked to perfection. Never mushy, just crisp and delicious. I have to admit though, that some of the soups here are disappointing. The fava bean soup was extremely bland. The one I typically go for is their lentil soup. The other thing to keep in mind here is that sometimes they run out of items on the menu for that day so your favorite dish may as well be sold out (has happened to me a few times). Other than that, this is one of favorite take-out places in Astoria!

You can not go wrong ordering their sandwiches. The lamb sandwich They also have dinner plate with rice and choices on the hot tray .. like the lambshank They also to have this fierce hot sauce or maybe I have high tolerance , but it was those slowly creeping up hot sauce that will make you sweat as if you are in the desert

I had higher expectations. The food was dry and a bit tasteless. I got the sausage with rice and fries, and my husband got the beef kefta with rice. Bottom line is we didn't enjoy the food. As a side note, there was a guy behind the counter, brown skin, and short brown curly hair. He was with the guests behind my table, he seemed to be having a difficult time communicating with them, so the lady politely asked if he knew English and he went off on a trail of how many languages he can speak and then walked off. My husband had asked a question, knowing the answer but only to clarify to me, and the same waiter responded with an answer that included sarcasm. They also got my order a little wrong but luckily they corrected it without a problem, but then came back again after 10 minutes later to my table with someone else's order. Bottle line, They rice needs taste, the meat was too dry and the service needs improvement.

Got cheese burger and meat balls with rice .. burger was just great juicy cheap and halal what else do I want. Two burgers and one meat ball platter cost us only 25$.

I've lived in Astoria Queens since 2008 and would walk by this place literally every day for years. I tried the lamb kabob when I was eating meat. It was quality. Then I became vegan shortly after and was obsessed with seeking out establishments that could whip up tasty fresh vegan dishes without breaking my pocket book. Enter the Falafel plate and/or Sandwich (they have other dishes that look amazing, lentil soup etc., but I have not tried them yet). I've set out to try every falafel joint in NYC to find which is the best. Shockingly enough, the BEST falafel I've ever had is at this very place (5 minute walk from my house). Little Morroco. They aren't even known for their falafel. It's buried within their dense menu of other mainly meat based dishes. Allow me to go into why this place is amazing though. Pros: The Food is FRESH/CLEAN. These guys really go out of their way to make things fresh and clean. They have a sign at the counter that explains how their bread is baked daily from a local bakery (Local/Fair Trade is always welcomed by my ethics). Alright, listen closely. Every restaurant in NYC tries to cut corners because rent is expensive and the food business is competitive. So most spots will skimp on the bread. They ship it in from out of state to save a couple of pennies and it's usually bread that has been pumped full of preservatives to keep it from going bad quickly. These guys don't do that. The bread is baked that day and used that day. They rarely throw it out because they usually run out before the end of the night. The Falafel itself is flawless, they make it better then any other spot I've been too in NYC. Along with the combination of fresh veggies and a homemade cream sauce that doesn't over take the rest of the flavors in the sandwich or plate, it's a flawless combination of simplicity and clean taste. Alot of falafel joints in NYC like to plaster a ton of humus or white cream sauce (that's not homemade) in a falafel sandwich. So you're basically eating humus, bread, and cream sauce, and the actual falafel becomes an afterthought. Little Morroco keeps it simple and bets on the freshness of their product. No need to mask the falafel sandwich with a ton of humus or cream sauce. That's like putting A-1 steak sauce on a steak (never do that). I'm talking about Taim and Mamoun's. Two very popular Falafel spots in NYC that cater to tourists who don't know what good quality food is. Taim is healthier then mamouns but they both fall victim to Little Morroco's amazing attention to detail and freshness. Cons: Imagine that the Soup man from Seinfeld opened up a place that makes Falafel. That's basically Little Morroco. The staff all seem to have a chip on their shoulder. You can't really pin where all their anger comes from. There were times when I would call them to place an order and sometimes they never even picked up. And when they would answer it was very much in the tone of "what do you want!." Customer service is their weakest point. But the food is so good you'll put up with it. I'd rather have good food over fake smiles. Now that I've been going there constantly (twice a week at the least) they are opening up to me a little bit, but not much. I don't know their culture so maybe that's how everyone acts from their country. - They run out: One of the perils that come with places that offer fresh food is that, once they run out, they run out. I've learned that you can't get falafel there past 9pm (8pm sometimes). They Close at 3am but most of the tasty food will be gone by 11pm. I really need to find a second spot to go to late night for when I can't get to Little Morroco on time (If anyone knows of a such a place that compares to little morroco and it's in Astoria, please send me a PM). I'll say again, this place is worth every penny. Yes, it can be pricey for Mediterranean food in Queens, and there are cheaper options, but these other spots won't come close to the quality of fresh food/ingredients being offered. Stop by and try it out, you won't be disappointed. Just be sure to get their before 8pm or else they probably already ran out.

Friday. Lamb Shank over Couscous. Don't even think twice. I've had this twice now only because I really always think of this place on Friday. And sometimes, I'm not anywhere near Little Morocco on Fridays. But when I do remember that it's Friday and it's Lamb over Couscous day... ITS ON SON! In fact, every Friday since I've tried this, I've thought "SHIT, I'm missing MFn Lamb Shank and Couscous!!!" Imagine this... The most moist and flavorful couscous of your life, COVERED with a freshly made lamb shank Complete with Bone Marrow, a few hundred chick peas, carrots, onions, and squash (I think it's squash, this is the only thing I can think of). $10 for this huge plate of food. If you can finish the whole thing, well, you're a fatty. I can't wait to try everything else on this menu. But.. maybe I'll just go back for Lamb and Couscous. :DDDD!!!

I give LM 4 stars for the merguez sandwich and 2 stars for the lamb kebab sandwich. The merguez was flavorful and soft but the lamb kebab wasn't consistent. Some of the pieces were dry and chewy. The sandwiches came on a hero accompanied with the usual trio of lettuce, onions and tomatoes. I've been here twice now and both times there was some guy in there causing a ruckus. Different guys each time but equally noisy. Only they know what it was all about cos they were speaking Arabic. They have a hot food counter inside with some fried fish (whiting maybe?) and lamb shanks that looks pretty good. If I ever come back, I'll try those instead.

I came back here meaning to just try the falafel because I was in the neighborhood. Then the person in front of me ordered a merguez and I had to get that. Not in place of the falafel, in addition to the falafel. As my sister occasionally says, I didn't get this way by eating salads. The merguez is still awesome, and I really liked the falafel sandwich also. I was a little nervous about the green olives, but the combo worked. Just go here already. If there's only one thing slightly close to a negative, it's that my old apartment was not that far away (maybe 15 minute walk) and they said they wouldn't deliver there. But if you're going to go and get 2 sandwiches, you should probably walk there and back anyway.

Stopped by here the other day for lunch and had this fava bean soup which was rich, velvety, and well spiced with a late minute addition of cumin, chili pepper, and olive oil. Basically the perfect bowl for a blustery day. The merguez sandwich I finished with was tasty, and the bread was basically hero bread which is a good pairing because the dough is good for absorbing the juices the merguez will exude with each bite. I'll be back to try the tagine for sure.

So, I've never had Moroccan food before. This introduction was perfect. Stop #1 on our first Astoria World Tour: An order of hummus and pita, and the special of the day (I think it's called Tagine). The hummus was pretty good but the Tagine - holy mackerel! I ate around the beef but my guy loved it. The other ingredients were apricots, prunes, golden raisins, and caramelized onions. The combination of salty and sweet, and whatever spices they added, was so delicious that we almost stopped the food tour and got another one! But, we didn't want to fill up on stop #1, so that was that. The staff is very nice and we appreciated the outdoor seating. The prices weren't bad either! We talked about how amazing that Tagine was, all the way to our next stop on the tour.

This is the gem of Astoria. Definitely don't judge this book by its cover..it has out door seating and barely room to stand within the restaurant but the food is simply..out of this world. From the flavors to the portions..everything is perfect. They are cash or debit only.

Yummy yummy in my tummy. I love this place when I want a quick bite or just chill outside with my friends. The people are always ultra nice to me. I like their mint tea (mmm), their chicken sandwich and their ready to eat dishes. Every thing is so fresh and served to order. Harira is also my favorite soup. Must come and try their food. You will feel like you are in Morocco.

Still on the hunt for a righteous tagine which seems impossible to find in nyc area. Settled for freshly cooked chicken on order in a toasted French bread with flavors of vegetables. Spearmint mint in green tea was offered with no sugar and washed down the 5 star sandwich priced (less than) right.
