"Little Purse has two locations in Terminal C, a tiny dining room with one central velvet booth near Gate 75, and a larger space closer to Gate 103. Both make for a low-stakes meal you can have at a real table, without committing to spending hundreds of dollars on a dry steak. This is easily the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to in my entire life. I would not wish this restaurant upon my enemy. From the food to the service to the atmosphere, everything was terrible. Let’s start off with the main part, the food. I ordered the Korean chicken rice bowl, and if you had told me this was served at a school cafeteria, I would believe you. The chicken itself was absolutely disgusting, rubbery, and old. It was definitely something frozen, and the sauce that they put on it was putrid and inedible. The steamed broccoli on the side was the most bland thing I’ve ever eaten. They could’ve at least put some salt. The jasmine rice that it is served with was crunchy. They don’t even know how to make rice. The spicy Korean salad was also beyond disgusting. All it is is a bunch of uncooked noodles that are super crunchy, and there is absolutely zero sauce. At this point, the restaurant is just playing a joke by serving you uncooked noodles with no sauce and some dry packaged chicken on top if you add it. Lastly, the carrot cake that they serve is freezer burnt and is laughable. They put a ton of raw carrot shavings on top of the cake to try to make it look fancy, but the cake itself is drier than the Sahara desert, the icing is bitter, and again those raw carrots on top Taste atrocious. Let’s not forget about the service. I’ve never seen worse staff at a restaurant. They don’t care about you, they are rude and unhelpful, and they don’t even come to check on you at all during your meal. Lastly, the atmosphere is pretty bad. The restaurant is extremely dirty, and staff don’t even clean the table after people have eaten. Again, I’m not joking that this is the worst restaurant I’ve ever eaten at, and it’s understandable why this restaurant has a one star average rating on Google. Stay away for your own good.

Google
I kinda wish I had looked at the reviews prior. First off. I don’t like it when the menu isn’t visible anywhere. The OTG ordering system is obnoxious. It feels like some sort of evil exam in phone-based tech skills. The rice was under cooked. The cheesecake was pretty good ! And the chicken was kinda so so. I’m not a food critique but for 40$ (no drinks included), it’s a bit of a stretch for the value.

Google
Got the Beef Pho Bowl, tasted like noodle in water, wish we could get pur money back. The Little Purse Sampler was better, 2 dumplings, 2 ribs and 2 wings. Hoping the Mixed Vegetable Fried Rice is better

Google
It's airport food, so you already know it's gonna be way overpriced and not of exceptional quality, but for what it is, I'm very happy with my experience. We were looking for vegan options, which is already a task if you want anything besides a very sad "salad." We got the vegan ramen and my first impression was that it looked much better than expected and tasted okay. They ignored the notes we put on the order, but that didn't ruin anything. Table service was basically nonexistent besides dropping off utensils and the food--no one talked to us. After adding some salt, pepper, and Tabasco (seemingly only condiments available) it really tasted quite good. If you have to eat at the airport, this is a fine option.

Google
chicken and veg dumpling, and fried rice were good. threw on sriracha and soy sauce to add some flavor. did the job. recommend if you are looking for fast and filling food.

Google
It’s airport food—I get it. Expectations are usually low, but I was hopeful given how good this place looks. Unfortunately, it’s all style and not much substance. I ordered the Korean Fried Chicken Rice Bowl. It’s made “fresh” to order, though “fresh” feels like a stretch. It looked decent, but that’s where the positives end. Korean? Not really. The flavor was drowned in overly sweet sauces, lacking any real authenticity or balance. Service was decent—not great, but probably the best part of the experience. And for a meal that costs over $20? I expect a lot more—even at an airport. Mediocre food with a fancy presentation and a premium price tag. If you’re in a rush, it might fill you up, but if you have options, keep looking.

Google
Surprisingly good pho and dumplings. It’s an airport restaurant, so I didn’t have any expectations, but the food was great , both the vegetarian dumplings and the beef pho which were very rich in flavor and freshly made.

J. D.

Google
Fantastic dumplings! Please please do yourself a favor and get the veggie dumplings. They are so good. The sweet-and-sour chicken was pretty good as well. The chicken dumplings, but by far the veggie dumplings are a winner. Match it with a nice beer and you are good to go. Ambience is contemporary American Asian very cool music pumping throughout. You don’t feel like you’re in the Newark airport. So transport yourself to Asia and come on by.

Yelp
If you must.... only if you must. The aroma is giving....Eat Here. The food is giving....Gotcha. No sweet & sour, no hoisin, no duck... only soy and hot sauce. The dumplings were pretty good. But the fried rice was missing something. It's overly priced. 2 entrees, 1 appetizer, 1 cocktail, 1 soda = $103.00. The service was good though.

Yelp
I had a 5 hour layover at the airport and was craving some Asian food. Found this restaurant and decided to give it a try. It felt more casual with a few TVs and charging ports along the tables. We were seated and ordered online through QR code. They brought out the food to the table but no additional service. I ordered the Beef Pho which costed about $22 before tax/tip. The portion size was quite small, and I was still hungry afterwards. I did not love the taste as it was quite bland. I ended up adding salt and pepper. I wasn't given any hoisin or sriracha, but I spotted a bottle of sriracha behind the counter so I got up and asked for it. After the additions, it tasted better but not great. Overall, I wouldn't recommend and would not try again if I'm stopping by the Newark airport.

Yelp
We were stuck at the airport and this place was near our gate and we decided to give them a try. First off, the pricing is definately way overpriced as airport food usually is but for the portion, it was not justifiable at all. We were still hungry after we ate a bowl of ramen. The server was quick but when we paid, they just automatically chose the tip amount for us without even letting us choose and prior to eating the food. I ordered the ship (salt) ramen and when I got my order it was so dark that it looked like shoyu so I had asked to clarify and their response was very unpleasant as if I did not know what I was talking about. I decided that it was not worth talking about it so I ate it but the broth was WAY too salty. As someone who likes things on a saltier side, even then it was too salty. I can only imagine how salty the shout ramen would be. The only reason I gave it two stars is because the chashu was not bad and the noodles, although it was very little option, wasn't too overcooked which I appreciated. But everything else was luck laster.
google avatar

Yelp
This was one of the only asian restaurants in Terminal C and I tried to have low expectations going into this place since I had doubts that it would be authentic. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the pork dumplings. They were actually pretty tasty and chewy. They're definitely reheated and not freshly made but still pretty solid snack. The ramen, on the other hand, was edible but the broth tasted like medicine. The noodles they gave were barely enough. Some parts of the pork was actually not bad but I would steer away from their soups. Service was extremely fast especially for the dumplings. The ramen took around 10-15 min.
google avatar

Yelp
The best thing about this place was the service. I thought the wings would be the perfect pick something face simple quick that you can't possibly mess up. I ordered their wings with my sauce on the side . Also order chicken fingers and fries.youd expect the wings to have some sort of flavor but it's honestly tasted like yo were eating cardboard and don't ask me how I know we all been children and chewed paper before. That might have been even a little more rewarding. It there an image to the word bland in the dictionary. It's post these . Even without the sauce your chicken shouldn't taste like you just dropped the wings straight out the bag into the grease. Adding the sauce to it doesn't help. The chicken fingers again no thank you.

Yelp
Gave this place a try despite the bad reviews and i will say listen to them. Off the bat you're already charged 20% tip for no service and just because you're entitled to 20%? When did tip become a required fee and the server picking it themselves. Food itself was bearable if you consider it's airport food.
google avatar

Brian K.

Yelp
The restaurant is called Little Purse Dumpling Den. One would think given the name, that they would serve a variety of dumplings, right. Nope! In fact if you look at the menu (see my pic), they only have one and it's served as a side. We ended up leaving. What a waste of our time.
google avatar

Tamara L.

Yelp
Solid meal but had to dock a point because it took a while to come. The dumplings were good and the soy sauce was very flavorful. I ended up drowning my salad in it because the cabbage salad didn't have much flavor.
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
I can't speak for all dishes, of course, but either something changed or people are exaggerating. I was served at the small, cozy location by gate 80. The ambiance is really chill and the staff were very kind, courteous, and responsive. I was in and out in maybe 20 mins tops. The kimchi dumplings were not the highest quality, but they were decent. I'd say average. The shishito peppers were served in a style I wasn't used to, slightly sweet with dried apricots, so I just didn't eat the apricots and added extra soy sauce for more saltiness. They could improve that a bit. Overall, the price for what you get, considering this is an airport, was not bad. Unlike other food places in the airport which might mention a specific chef's name, this place made no such claims. That being said, I'd probably try something else next time hoping for a better experience.
google avatar

Mai Phng P.

Yelp
On a good note, especially as an airport restaurant, service was fast and convenient with QR code order. Restaurant is clean. On all other notes, both dumpling and shoyu ramen are neither authentic nor tasty. Ramen is salty. Like other comments mention, dumpling tastes like the frozen ones from trader joe but incorrectly cooked. Maybe get the korean ribs if you want to give it a try.
google avatar

Maria M.

Yelp
Concept is good and efficient. One scans the code and orders, pays and wait. The ambiance is nice with a vibrant bar scene. Food however, was not very good. Very salty rice. The chicken I added was a little dry. Please just improve the salt content.
google avatar

Campbell L.

Yelp
Food was good, but expected better. Service lacked, as they have you order from QR codes. Ambiance is so beyond mediocre because you sit across from strangers, instead of across from the people you're with. They sit parties in rows... bizarre. Wouldn't come back.
google avatar

Ann J.

Yelp
I guess a glass of water was an unrealistic request. Dumplings were fine, and took about 20 minutes to arrive. Even when I asked for water at food drop off, it never came. I had tipped a standard 20%, suppose that covers a food runner dropping off a plate as quickly as humanly possible. And nothing more. How about you install a water fountain and a stack of paper cups? I know you're trying to turn tables quickly, but the is is a bit ridiculous.
google avatar

Lisa N.

Yelp
Big yikes. If I could learn from my mistakes, I would know NOT to come here. Why does airport food have to be so expensive? Like if the flavor was good, I might overlook the price. Maybe.. However, it was expensive and didn't meet my expectations. You might want to check it out BECAUSE of the cool interior. That's the only thing going for them. Dumplings are not fresh. Service was ok. You sit down, order via QR code, and pay upfront. I don't like how they ask for a suggested tip. Like I don't know even how the service will be like? How long will I wait for my food? Will the server check up on me? I got seated at a table that didn't look like it was wiped down? I saw a semi used napkin still on the table. I asked the server for some new napkins. I got the pork tonkotsu ramen $19.69 and pork and vegetable dumplings $10.59. I've had a fair share of ramen in my life and this was bland. I needed some togarashi or something. No spice whatsoever. They just had the cheap knock off version of sriracha. Menu said it would be a soft boiled egg and I got hard boiled. 1 thin slice of pork. Noodles were overcooked. For the price, I was very disappointed. I was hungry so of course I had to finish it. At least the dumplings were semi good. Meh save your money and time and go elsewhere.

Debra H.

Yelp
The Korean fried chicken I was served looked like all the random tiny pieces scraped off the bottom of a serving tray. For $30 including tip you guys can do better.
google avatar

Linda W.

Yelp
Standard airport fare Portions are small. Each noodle dish is about $20 but probably half the size of a ramen place They did have kids menu for 12.99, chicken tender and fries or buttered noodles And beers were $15 And tip expected when ordering. Except no one cleaned our table so we sat at a dirty table for 15 minutes before our food came. And then we didn't get water or utensils. I did resent that they wanted too upfront
google avatar

Diem A.

Yelp
Come with low expectations and you won't be too disappointed. The food and service here was very sub par.
google avatar

Sarah W.

Yelp
I wish I had looked up the reviews before I sat down and ate here / spent $ here. Positives: Really kind staff. They greeted me warmly and answered all my questions about vouchers and ordering online with kindness. When I asked for a new meal because my ramen was so bad, they happily and readily gave me a replacement. I thought this was great. Also really cute decor. But like another reviewer said, don't be fooled and equate this with good food. Good Sauvignon blanc! Also, the chargers at the table were a perk. Negatives: Tonkatsu ramen was extremely salty and fishy. I couldn't stomach it and asked for the fried chicken instead. I NEVER return food at a restaurant - and I feel bad because I see how hard everyone works here - But it was truly not edible. Fried chicken - also a 1/5. Half was warm and half was lukewarm. Clearly frozen prior. Not a big deal at an airport but for the price point it was disappointing. Broccoli was also soggy and definitely frozen. Overall: a really disappointing experience. :( would never come back. :(
google avatar

Amanda R.

Yelp
Decent food for a quick bite at the airport. I had the chicken teriyaki bowl. The staff was very courteous and quick with the service.
google avatar

Ace A.

Yelp
Dumpling taste like it was from a frozen bag Chicken with Rice was horrible. Rice was not sticky and chicken's sauce was so bad. Food came in 30 minutes after ordered after asking where our food was.
google avatar

David W.

Yelp
worst restaurant ever buttered noodles was worse than eating uncooked noodles and the chocolate milk still had syrup unmixed plus a broken straw
google avatar

James W.

Yelp
Let's start with the good. Our server, Bella, was wonderful. She welcomed us and when the food wasn't great (it was terrible), she brought us something else. They were nice enough to give us glasses of ice for our water bottles, too. Now the bad. The ramen was the worst ramen I have ever had. This includes the Top Ramen and Cup O Noodles I made in college. The boiled egg was overcooked AND cold inside (precooked egg). My wife ordered the "Korean Fried Chicken". More like chicken nuggets with a tasteless, syrupy glaze on it. Even the broccoli was too embarrassed to have flavor. The dumplings were ok, but the "steamed" one were served at room temperature. All in all, the decor was enough to fool us into not checking Yelp. Luckily, you won't make the same mistake. Try anywhere else.
google avatar

Robert W.

Yelp
Stopped at Little Purse Dumpling in the airport as we were looking for a place to eat and sit while waiting for our flight. I really wished I had looked online at the reviews before sitting down here as the terrible reviews are fully correct. The menu is small and you order on your phone which has nice pictures of the food. The food items are all rather expensive even for airport food so I went with one of the cheaper options - the shrimp dumplings. They were like $15 and came out with 0 presentation in a white plastic bowl with the dipping sauce in a small one time use plastic. The dumplings were clearly made off site by a machine and lacked any flavor at all. The portion sizes were small and it was plain old bad. I prefer the Trader Joe's frozen dumplings over these. My partner also ordered ramen and it looked nothing like the image and had 0 flavor. I am not usually one to write bad reviews on Yelp, but this was truly a terrible experience.
google avatar

Darryl B.

Yelp
Another over priced airport restaurant. The food had more flavor than others. A nice menu selection of Ramen
google avatar

Will C.

Yelp
Garbage food. Absolute garbage. 90% sure they served us the cheapest frozen dumplings they could buy - and they didn't even reheat them well.
google avatar

Angela E.

Yelp
I'm not quite sure why such harsh reviews. I came here to grab something to eat while waiting for my flight. Staff were friendly and helpful. The shop is cute, setup like a back alley Chinese dumpling shop. The food was really good - I had the salad and the veggie dumplings. They were delicious and a great option to the greasy burgers I saw at all the other places. My only complaint - it's rather pricey considering you do your own ordering and the staff just carries your food in plastic bowls to the table. It cost me $32 for salad and dumplings - no meat, just veggies. I know things are pricey at airports but this seemed excessive.
google avatar

Elizabeth Y.

Yelp
Second time coming here while waiting in a flight and it was great! I was able to quickly sit at the bar and place my order. I got the pork dumplings and the tonkontsu ramen. The food was made fast and was very tasty! The server was extremely kind and attentive as well!

Brad E.

Yelp
Long wait. Terrible food. Way overpriced. Would be better off with airplane peanuts.
google avatar

Vivek D.

Yelp
Think some of the reviews may be a bit unrealistic due to the fact that this is airport dining after all and everything is directly and/or indirectly by OTG. It's not the worst vegan ramen I've ever had..... of course you're not getting NYC-level ramen or Chinatown ramen, but I thought the vegan ramen was edible. It's not like the other dining options are THAT much better here.... it's an airport anyways. Prices are what they are.... we're in the NYC area inside an airport. Things I have no control over. Stupid me failed to realize that my browser history was connected to a different QR code than the one I ultimately sat next to. Slightly inconvenienced the waitresses, but I admit that mistake. Anyhow, I wanted something a bit different and not heavy before my redeye and I got that.
google avatar

Alex M.

Yelp
(Overall: 50% | F) - I ordered the Chicken Bowl, which is definitely not Korean but does provide enough flavor to support the dish as if it were an alternative to Orange Chicken. Unfortunately, it was too salty and the overall dish looks like elementary school cafeteria food rather than something someone would pay money for at a restaurant -- especially considering the unpleasantness of unseasoned steamed broccoli. The saving grace is that they have chairs and outlets to sit at a busy airport, but even then, my mood was quickly ruined by the sheer rudeness and disrespect by the employees of this establishment. IG: @amei.eats
google avatar

Donicia D.

Yelp
Dumplings 8/10 Ramen 2/10 Drinks 7/10 Would definitely recommend coming here for drinks or appetizers. The ambiance is nice, however the ramen wasn't at all flavorful and for the price I was quite disappointed. The service was good, and I liked that you could order by scanning the QR code, but I unfortunately would not recommend dinning here.
google avatar

Christian A.

Yelp
My pho had a tiny piece of meat that was mostly fat. The cilantro tasted like it was grown on the tarmac. It seems like they doused the whole thing in cinnamon to mask the flavor. Just awful all around. We had to practically beg for water. If this weren't in an airport it wouldn't last a week.

Andrew M.

Yelp
Cold food not sky dumplings and really slow service. Wouldn't recommend at all. Better options.
google avatar

Marie F.

Yelp
Wow. A new airport low (Newark). Do these photos even look like they're in the same ballpark? (Menu photo vs. what I was just served after 30 minute wait during a non-busy time). Stopped here for a decent meal instead of Hudson News candy bars and trail mix. Big mistake. $21 doesn't even warrant a real bowl?? And the QR code ordering forces a pre-tip, with 15% being the lowest amount offered as a selection. MAYBE there's an airport requirement for establishments to use takeout containers only, but I seriously doubt it. Server tried to be nice, greeting and saying thank you and nice things to passersby, etc. But seriously? This is beyond ridiculous. This could be the best Pork Tonkatsu Ramen I've ever had (it isn't), and this would still be a 1-star review due to the sheer lack of interest in any level of decent patron experience. Oy vey.
google avatar

J C.

Yelp
Order 10 dumplings here. No hint of kimchi from kimchi dumpling and food was mid. The server was very unhappy when I did not give him 20% tip for to go. All he did was handed me to go box when it was done. AlsoI literally entered all the credit card information because they do not provide apple pay.

Fred F.

Yelp
Honestly I went in here being skeptical of some of the negative reviews but very quickly saw why people said what they did. The dumplings I ordered came cold and undercooked so I asked if they could cook them a bit more. The man with the beard working the front area went to the back shaking his head. For the rest of the time I was there I could see him looking at us while talking in a foreign language as if I couldn't tell he was talking about us. I then saw him do the exact same thing to a family of 4 next to me. It was crazy to see an entire staff at an establishment openly talking badly of several of their customers. Lesson learned, if you go here just get drinks and don't ask the staff for anything. Its crazy that people like this can be a collective staff working in the service industry.
google avatar

Jade C.

Yelp
Cute but overpriced. The seating is very cute and you order via QR code on your smart phone. Service was okay, this model is very impersonal. Ordered an appetizer sampler and my food was cutely piled on a tiny plate: two vegetable dumplings, 2 ribs, and 2 chicken wing pieces. This was $24 with tip. The vegetable dumplings were greasy and flavorless, the ribs were delicious and well seasoned, the chicken was okay. Each piece was about 2 bites of food. If you have a baby appetite or like spending too much to still be hungry, it's a place for you.

Jonghan L.

Yelp
Writing a five star review to troll the owners of this god awful establishment, who might be expecting heaping praise of the food. Where to begin... Airport food is in general more to be desired but little purse really knocks it out of the park. Overpriced? Checked. Mushy old veggies? Checked? Non authentic Korean food that's more like orange chicken you get at Panda Express? Absolutely checked. I'm not sure if I'm more offended by the ~$23 for the Korean chicken bowl, or the way too sweet sauce that literally makes the chicken swim in it, to the stale and bland broccoli comes with it, to the lack of proper service here (I mean come on if you're making us pay that much at least try to do your jobs) Come here to get disappointed, Five stars guaranteed for that

Devin R.

Yelp
Awful, overpriced food. Gross flies everywhere! Ordered Korean fried chicken bowl and got Orange chicken bits instead. No bigger than a nickel, full of air, no chicken. Hate to do this but it needs to be said
google avatar

Katherine G.

Yelp
I have a love of peanuts and ordered a pricey airport salad because of it. It was delivered without peanuts and with a different dressing than the menu stated. At this place you pay ahead when ordering. I asked for the peanuts after the fact and the correct dressing before eating. Nobody could find anything. It wasnt very good. If something is 86 they should alert the customer.

Yelp
At Newark Airport, I frequently dine at Little Purse Dumpling because the food is consistently good, the atmosphere is nice with good music, and it is rarely crowded. Since it was brunch hour, I tried the vegetable and chicken dumplings. Both orders arrived hot and crisp from the fryer! The vegetable dumplings had a tasty blend of kale, corn, and tofu, not your typical fillings. The portion sizes were good for the price, especially since airport food prices are inflated. I am happy that this option is available because it has different offerings than other restaurants in Terminal C.
google avatar

Dove R.

Yelp
Keep walking, this place is NOT worth it. I sat myself. I used my phone to get the menu and ordered and paid online. Lol they added an automatic tip, before you even place your order! Friend, that is not how the service industry works. Food was bland, they just took sesame chicken and called it Korean fried chicken. 2 people left before even ordering they were so frustrated and a table of 6 complained at least 3x. Truly this place is a joke. If I hadn't been FORCED to prepay (and pre tip!) I would have walked away 15 min ago.

Yelp
As far as airport restaurants go, this one is pretty good. I am surprised at the low ratings. All the signs were in Chinese which was cool, there is bar seating and tables available as well. I was not too keen to sit at the bar and the waiter seated me at a table though it was just me because he said he liked my vest. ;-) I got the Korean Fried chicken which came with rice and broccoli. It was decent. And again relatively speaking for airport food...this was good. I liked the no-touch ordering and payment system they have.

Yelp
Ok, so it's the airport, but it looked promising. I ordered a Diet Coke and an order of pork and kimchi dumplings. The Diet Coke was $4.99 for what amounts to a shot glass worth. I know airports are expensive but that's basically gauging. The dumplings had one flavor to them. Salt. The pork was fairly tasteless, except salt and I dig in and found no trace of kimchi. Fairly sad excuse for what I was hoping would be a good spot to visit as I pass through Newark on regular layovers. Not worth the cost.

Yelp
Dear Lord. Do NOT. I repeat DO NOT eat here. I'm a yelper but never thought to Check ratings before coming here to eat. Just had the worst food I have ever put in my mouth. It was $50 for water, beer, and a bowl of Ramen, which happened to be the worst bowl of Ramen I have ever eaten in my life. I hope I've saved someone.

Yelp
The Kincaid ribs were delicious. They were perfectly cooked. My issue was with the service. They did not come over with a table setting or water until my order was done. This is a walk up service. You order using the QR code on the tables. The servers seemed new and weren't sure what orders went to what table. The labels were very small next to the QR code. A gentleman dropped off dumplings that I did not order at my table even though I said they were not mine. Another waitress walked over and said did you order those, I said no, she asked if I wanted them she would charge me. I said you can take them and throw them away since they sat at my table for 5 minutes before she came over. She went to ask her manager and came back 10 minutes later and said it was fine.

Yelp
Got the fried dumplings and tonkatsu ramen here. The dumplings were passable. The ramen was worse than the instant ramen I make at home. Price is as expected unreasonably high and service meets the bare minimum standards.

Yelp
The dining options at EWR airport are limited, but I took a shot at trying this spot for a dinner before my flight. After being seated, there was minimal human interaction, which could be a pro or con depending on your perspective. I enjoyed that I could order, review the food options in depth, and pay at my table without having to wait to catch a busy server. As this restaurant is near gates where United is, there are options to leverage your points to pay for your meal. $15 for a small sampler didn't seem atrocious for airport pricing. The food itself though was not great, though I did not have high expectations.
