Aya's take:
First time at Ruby's and I got to try their West Village location! The decor is classy and elevated yet still maintains that cafe vibe. Honestly, I didn't have a bad bite here. Everything was actually extremely flavored and well-seasoned but I'll share some of the highlights. The Crispy Brussels Sprouts are a must! I'm going to need all restaurants to serve it this way moving forward. Each Brussel sprout was perfectly roasted and the dressing was super light and not overpowering at all. The Classic Cheeseburger was really solid, but definitely heavy and messy! The Spicy Vodka Pasta was outstanding; dare I say better than Carbone? (Don't argue with me please). The vodka sauce was creamy, mild in flavor with an ever so slight kick, and the pasta was al dente. The Sticky Date Pudding is actual crack! I've never seen a dish hit the table and disappear so fast. It's warm, rich, and sweet and the cold ice cream balances out the temperature and flavors so well. Both drinks were also good tries (very pretty!) but didn't stand out to me honestly. All in all, I understand the hype around Ruby's and I'm glad we get a little taste of Australian culture here in NYC.
