"With two locations, one in Old City and the other in Fishtown, Lil Susie’s Coffee and Pie is known for its delicious sweet and savory hand pies. Little Susie's Coffee & Pie - Review - Old City - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"This coffee and pie shop already has a location in Port Richmond, and now it's landed in Old City. Specializing in sweet and savory hand pies like pork roll and cheese, glazed cherry, mushroom and swiss, and apple, you can walk out with a flaky pocket for dinner and one for dessert for $4-$5 apiece. They also serve La Colombe coffee, teas, bagels, and a few other grab-and-go things." - Candis R. McLean

This place is LEGIT! Delicious, warm, flaky, freshly made pies for every taste preference. Highly recommend the pork roll with cheese and the apple. Perfect grab and go corner store!

Google
Mind blowing. I wasn’t sure what to expect with the pies. Surprised was an understatement. The pies were delicious. I also got a latte. The latte was on the strong side. Lightning in a cup. The employee working was very nice and it looked super clean inside. Stop here with confidence. No inside seating.

Pie is good when it is available unfortunately every time we arrive out of most pies. They have no seating anywhere. I definitely would not recommend coffee it was disappointing and disgusting. I would only go for pie 🥧 but very unpredictable . It’s ok but honestly a lot of other better options in Philly

Google
If you walk by Little Susie while exploring Old City you have to grab one of their pies and, in the summer heat, their home made iced tea. My favorite pie is the mushroom and Swiss one which is so tasty. They usually serve the pies a little warmed up! The staff is very friendly and nice :)

Google
Australian perspective Was here with an Australian who has an affinity for savory pies, which are common in Australia. The look on his face after his first bite was pure joy and surprise. Shocked to find something so delicious and reminiscent of home. I commented that after all the acclaimed restaurants we've been to, this is the most excited I've ever seen him over a meal! He had the chicken pot pie hand pie. I had the vegetarian option, mushroom and Swiss. It was so flavorful, flakey crust and affordable! Plus, mini croissant dog treats!!

Google
Little Susie's does God's work in introducing the Philadelphian palate to the delights of savory pies, which are so rare in the US. The coffee is just ok, but complaining about that would be like complaining that your Ferrari doesn't have enough cup holders. You'd be missing the point. Wonderful people. Excellent service. Amazing product. 10/10.

Been wanting to try this place for a while and finally did, boy was it delicious! Tried the cherry pie and cheesesteak pie and both were seriously yummy, the pie crust was soft on the inside and flaky on the outside. Will definitely be back! One thing to note is there is no inside, just a take out window.

The only thing better than their pies is their homemade dog treats

Yelp
What can I say about this neighborhood gem that would do it justice?! Before I do, know that while this place is categorized under "dessert" on yelp - it definitely is not just that! The peeps here do a fantastic job having the savory variety in their pies, and don't forget about the bagels w/ simple spreads. Being from a bagel forward city, I haven't found too many great places that do bagels right in Philly but this place certainly is not one of them! Had their egg bagel with cream cheese which was melt in your mouth experiANCE! Very fresh and good quality CC too! OH THE PIES! Their Mushroom Swiss is forever my favorite for it is insanely delicious. The meat lovers probably would like Pork Roll? Their sweet variety is certainly their forte! This time I got the pumpkin pie for a perfect fall day- and it came with whipped cream! What a melt in your mouth flavor combo! This place does not under fill and overcharge! Their filling quality and quantity very appropriate for their cost ratio! There is no inside seating but they have a bunch of seats and tables outside the corner of 2nd and Chestnut! I was hesitant to review this place cause now I have more competition for their pies! Don't miss out! 5/5

Yelp
Absolutely delish! Individual pies are rich in flavor. Now I understand the long line and wait in the morning. Worth the wait! Sweet or Savory! They're all good! Morning Friendly staff. Cozy to go spot!

Yelp
The hampers are so good. I had the mushroom and Swiss. They put little flaky sea salt on top: To Die For. The service was quick, attentive, and super polite. Very friendly.

Yelp
Quick service, great food. Love that the pie menu changes. Great coffee. Nice change from larger chain establishments.

Yelp
I was out walking in old city and stumbled upon this place - a very pleasant surprise, who doesn't love a little pie and a caffeine pick-me-up (there's a sign that says it closes in the early afternoon but fortunately that's not accurate). I tried a savory pork roll cheese pie and a sweet glazed cherry pie, both were lovely just a lot smaller than I was expecting...and for the size of pie I did get, the price seemed a little steep (about $5). There are also bagels available (supposedly in different flavors but on the day I went, only the plain bagel was in stock)...also if you want cream cheese on your bagel, they REALLY smear it on. (I actually took the cherry pie home to enjoy with some tea and ate it the next day after reheating; it kept and reheated nicely). To order you speak to someone through a little window (a nice covid cautious feature). Unfortunately, on the day I went, it seemed like the cashier was upset about something and rolled their eyes a few times at me. Ah well, that probably won't stop me from trying out their other pies in future though.

Yelp
The cheesesteak hand pie is amazing. I got one and promptly went back for another. There's no seating and the area surrounding this location unless you want to sit outside Customs House or in your car.

Yelp
They were good, god bagels, hand pies, coffee. The service was great, now new people. Not very nice,,slow. Have an attitude more suited to work at jobs. No people skills!

Yelp
such a cute little spot! definitely recommend going this time of year as the seating is all outdoors - the weather has been lovely so it is a perfect snack spot. got the blueberry lemon pie, cherry pie and spinach feta. all three were so yummy! blueberry was definitely my favorite. just wish they were warmed. will say it's a little pricey for the size of the pies. their sweet tea is not for the faint of heart - definitely delivers on the sweetness haha service was super good! they are so friendly

Yelp
Pie breakfast in my neighborhood? Don't mind if I do! So excited to have this in my neighborhood. Their official grand opening was on March 14--Pi(e) Day. They have coffee plus a rotating selection of sweet or savory pie fillings in cute little hand pies. I love a walk-up window. I can grab breakfast while walking my dogs. Order at the window on Chestnut and pickup at the window on 2nd St. The pie crust is good, flaky but sturdy enough to contain the fillings. They are pretty, too. I got a bunch to share with family. Bacon jalapeño popper was a hit with my husband. Pork roll, cheese and mustard was hearty and tasty. I got a pepperoni pizza pie for the picky eater. But he veggie samosa was the favorite. It was filled with a mixed vegetable curry. So good. We shared an Irish potato pie, filled with Irish potato candy. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
EXCEPTIONAL, OUTSTANDING and SUPERB to say the very least!!!!! Katlyn just made me the most heavenly Carmel latte I just may dare say.... That I've ever had!!!!! When I tell you.... The utter delight I had from the first sip.... I said oh yeah this is what coffee is supposed to taste like!!! I didn't even need any extra sweeteners!!! An absolute first for me!!!! No more dishwater from Starbucks! Can't wait to bring my hubby for breakfast! He MUST simply MUST try these pies! Had to go Philly all the way for my first try and did the cheesesteak excellent meat quality and crust ratio. But man that croissant taste and texture was the showstopper. Utter PERFECTION!!!! So worth the trip.

Yelp
I had to come out this way since I had to get my passport for an international trip that I was leaving for the same day of the trip later that early evening lol. After walking around the block I came back after locating the passport agency since I didn't have time to dine in and needed something quick. The one window is for orders and the other is for pickup if orders. Like the person who came after me I was initially standing in front of the pickup window and then saw the sign saying to order at other window lol. I ordered the pork roll cheese pie and large cappuccino. Not a long wait and I wish I had time to get more to try the others lol. This was pretty good and I wish I had cup of ketchup to dip this in. It's a quick bite to grab on the go with your coffee and if I'm back in the area short on time I'd likely stop here if I need to get new passport again lol.

Yelp
Didn't know a Little Susie's was in this neighborhood so stopped for a apple pie for breakfast. I love them!!! The crust is perfect and the apples are nice and sweet but not overly. This is the best apple pies I had. Found parking right next to the shop, although it was an illegal spot (bike spot) there was no line so I was able to just grab it and go. And plus I doubt PPA is harassing folks at 8am but then again, this is Philly.

Yelp
Very cute and happy little store! It's basically only for pick up, with no indoor seating and two little tables for outdoor seating. The area has a lot of nearby gardens and historic locations with outdoor seating, so if you're enjoying a nice day outside, the store is well positioned for you to swing by and enjoy a little treat. I had the mushroom pie, and while it was pretty good, I also thought it was a tad salty and pricey for the smaller size of the pie. I did love the texture of the pie - an exquisite crunch with great balance of filling and dough. I don't think there are a lot of pie stores in the area, so it is fairly unique and worth checking out!

Yelp
Little Susie's Coffee & Pie is a welcome addition to my Old City neighborhood. A pick-up window for coffee and hand held pies, allowing you to eat and drink while walking around the neighborhood. I was out for a walk one day and stopped by to try the pie. I'm not a coffee drinker. I ordered the apple pie. It reminded me of the McDonald's apple pie I used to eat as a kid. But this pie was bigger with more apple. A tasty treat but not a memorable one. It left me thinking I may, or may not, go back. I think a sweeter crust is needed. It's not up to par with the various apple treats I can get from the Amish at Reading Terminal. I like the concept though, so I may give another pie a try next time I'm walking by.

Yelp
Such a great addition to Old City! The assorted pies are wonderfully flavored, whether you go sweet or savory. Depending on your hunger level, why choose between, try one of each! The rotating menu seems to feature 1-2 staples of each flavor, but I recommended coming back often to mix things up. Favorites include the blueberry lemon, & pork roll. The crusts of the pies are flaky, buttery, with a hint of salt to balance out. Neither too sweet or salty depending on your preferred flavor choice. Great for a quick breakfast if your on the go, want to get an early picnic or walk in as you happily munch away, or is fun location to pop over to if you have family or friends visiting in town. The coffee is pretty tasty as well, so you get a nice, complete meal in one spot before you start your day

Yelp
To be clear, this happened at the Chestnut st location about a month ago from today--I have come to this place so many mornings and thoroughly enjoyed their service and food. Was a bit on the pricey end but that never deterred me because the business was local and to me the service and food were worth it. What did change my mind however was encountering the owner (this man said this was his coffee shop) this morning berating a houseless man just standing around. The dude wasn't harming anybody, he was just standing there. I've never heard a person get that aggravated over someone just existing in space. Houseless people, are that--people and to see the owner yell at another person like that was pretty disgusting and I will not be returning. It's pretty disheartening to hear someone tell someone off and accuse them of asking for "free shit" or "to go to any of the hundreds of charities in Philadelphia" with disdain as if needing help is some kind of wrong doing or criminal act. After all of this was said and done I turned the corner and I could clearly see this innocent man getting out his literal wallet, which strongly suggests he was actually gonna buy something despite the owner's assumptions. I would encourage you to go elsewhere if you can as that was beyond the pale.

Yelp
One worker on a Saturday morning. Very kind and fast. The vanilla latte was very good. The line may move a little slow.

Yelp
Found Little Susie's by accident when looking for a coffee shop. AMAZING honey apple hand pie, sweet and flavorful with delicious pastry. Friendly and efficient service. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Everything we get from this place has been great, my only disappointment is how quickly they sell out of some things, such as bagels. The people are super nice, and I love the romantic little hand pie vibe. We lil Susie's!

Yelp
I stopped by for the first time today after getting my morning coffee at UBB. I got one pork roll pie and one blueberry. The pork roll was so good and warm, even if it wasn't right out of the oven, it tasted like it. And I don't even know what pork roll is. The blueberry I saved until after dinner and it was also excellent without being too sweet. I feel like fruit pies get too much sugar a lot of the time which competes with the real fruit flavor. This one was not, it was just right. I'll have to come back. Great addition to the neighborhood!

Yelp
If you're interested into getting a hold of a great tasting coffee and breakfast foods, "little Susie's" is what's up! I got stuck on the highway way with not much to drink, and I left to just get any cup of hot coffee and I came across this friendly fast food establishment. If you're around this is beyond fine enough. So I'd like to thank them for the tasty and cheap meal I enjoyed! Thank you I'm a very happy customer!

Joey J.

Yelp
Had a great everything bagel here! Cream cheese was thick and bread toasty yet chewy. I should have checked the menu, as I regret not getting the pies... I will be back soon to try them and update my review.
