Ah, Little Taco Shop on Richmond and Kirby. Listen up, folks. I've been around the block a few times, and I know a thing or two about good food. So when I tell you that Little Taco Shop on Richmond and Kirby is the real deal, you better believe it.
I walked in at the crack of dawn, 8 AM sharp, and the place was already buzzing. The bar was a riot of color, spotless and inviting. But the real action was in the back, where an army of old ladies were hard at work, crafting the kind of authentic, no-bullshit food that makes life worth living.
The decor? It's like a fiesta exploded in there. Vibrant tiles, and papel picado hanging from the ceiling. It's the kind of place that instantly puts a smile on your face and a rumble in your gut.
But enough about the ambiance. Let's talk about the food. I went for the Carne Asada torta and the Carne Asada breakfast burrito with tater tots. And let me tell you, it was a revelation.
First of all, the bread. The fresh baked homemade buns for the torta were the best I've ever had. Period. And the tortillas for the burrito? Freshly baked and bursting with flavor.
The Carne Asada itself was top-notch. High-quality, juicy, and cooked to perfection. And the salsas? Both the green jalapeño and the orange tomato/pepper varieties were vibrant, fresh, and packed a spicy punch that'll wake you up better than any damn coffee.
I found myself wondering, why does everything taste so clean and so fucking good? It's simple. These folks give a shit about what they're doing. They're not cutting corners or half-assing it. They're pouring their hearts and souls into every dish, and it shows.
Mad props to the chef for letting customers order lunch and dinner items at breakfast. Because who says breakfast has to be all about eggs and bacon? Break the rules, I say.
In short, Little Taco Shop is a gem. A place where passion, skill, and damn good ingredients come together to create something special. I can't wait to go back and stuff my face again.
God bless the chefs, and God bless America. If you're in Houston and you're not eating at Little Taco Shop, you're doing it wrong.
