"The Little Tapería is, plot twist, a little taperia. On a busy stretch of Tooting High Street, this place is a perfect south London date spot. Although some of the bigger dishes can lean on the side of slap-dash homemade fare, it’s a great place for a round of sangria, a little candlelit romance, and a lot of jamon. The jamon y queso tabla mixta selection is especially good, and hand-feeding each other churros for dessert is highly encouraged." - rianne shlebak, heidi lauth beasley, daisy meager, sinead cranna

"The world’s most beloved power couple, jamon y queso, is the order of the day at Little Taperia. This great little Spanish spot in Tooting is all about the classics. We’re talking patatas bravas, garlic prawns, and croquetas. You should get involved in all of the above, partly because everything here is pretty affordable, but mostly because you’ll want an excuse to stay here as long as possible as soon as the sun comes out. Don’t skip the churros either. Because, chocolate. Bits to order: the jamon y queso tabla mixta, Morcilla scotch eggs, and old faithful, croquetas." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing

"Amazing pan con tomate bodes well at this buzzy bar and kitchen, where a series of small rooms lead back from a cosy front room with a marble bar. From the shortish, largely traditional tapas menu, morcilla scotch eggs, salt cod fritters, and stuffed baby squid are particularly commendable. Sherry lovers will be pleased to see manzanilla en rama on the wine list." - Russell Burke, Sophie Dening

Google
One of the best Spanish restaurants I have been to in London (can see why it reviews so well)! Favourite dishes were the arroz negro and ox cheeks. I cannot recommend this place enough and will definitely be returning!

Had a wonderful tapas meal here that was so simple yet so delicious! Bread with crushed tomatoes and Iberian ham, shrimp with garlic and hot peppers, mini chorizo sausages made with red wine, and roasted peppers crusted with a bit of salt! Also can’t forget the sliced bread, toasted and served with salted olive oil. Unbelievably satisfying! Thank you LT!

One of the better Spanish restaurant. The price is also reasonable. Totally love every dish we have ordered. We were served by smiley and friendly staffs. We will definitely be coming back more often.

Service was really attentive and the staff knew the menu well so were able to give us scrumptious recommendations. We loved all the small plates! The food was fresh and full of unique flavours.

Our local Fri date-night spot when we get a babysitter. The presa iberica rivals most top quality beef steaks that I've had. All round great experience and you can tell that it's popular by how full it gets.

Excellent tapas bar with many vegetarian options, reasonably priced drinks, well crafted items, and friendly staff. Whilst the atmosphere is slightly claustrophobic, it is not unlike tapas bars in Spain itself, so no complaints there. All in all, Little Taperia is an awesome place!

Solid menu with some interesting bits too. We got there pretty late so a couple of the plates didn’t look that fresh (which is understandable), but everything tasted great. Nice table wear - the little blue rimmed white plates looked good. Cant fault the staff, they were really on point; actually one of our party wasn’t drinking so they brought us a thimble of desert wine one of them was a colourful non-alcoholic alternative. Nice touch.

Google
Unbelievable food. Delicious. The scotch eggs (black pudding and quail egg) were next level. A nice surprise, albeit left field for a tapas restaurant. As was the blue cheese salad (ie, a Waldorf). Potatas bravas didn’t disappoint, and the lamb cutlets were amazing. Friendly service. Food came out quick. And nice to support a local. Top marks all round.

Yelp
This was some of the best tapas I've had in a long time! A surprising find, the tiny restaurant has 2 little tables outside and we were lucky to find one of them free on such a hot day. We were immediately greeted by a (much needed) cold bottle of tap water and a couple of glasses while we perused the menu. We chose a couple of drinks (espresso martini for me, sherry for Paul) and ordered a few items to nibble on - padron peppers, molecular scotch eggs and piquillo pepper chutney, and some croquetas. The food arrived quickly, and looked beautiful! Every mouthful was delicious and full of flavour. The croquetas were rich, with a thick, silky bechamel filling and plenty of Jamon. The scotch eggs were soft and moist, with perfect quail egg yolks. The padron peppers had a lovely sprinkling of crunchy sea salt, and no mythical "hot" pepper! All in all, a delightful little find with really good prices for London, such a shame it's not closer to home!

Yelp
I'm giving an extra star here because the staff was very friendly, it's a nice setting and they allowed me to get takeaway even though "technically" it's not done. I got only 2 veg tapas as the prices seem a bit high for me otherwise. I got the Catalan spinach with chickpeas and the escalivada. The spinach was sadly extremely oily and that's about the only flavor I picked up. The escalivada mixture was delicious: I detected aubergine and tomato amongst the sautéed veg and the rich garlicky flavour stood out. The sourdough though was just too bland.

Yelp
The Little Taperia opened a few weeks ago and is a sister-venture to Tooting's popular The Little Bar. It's cute and cosy inside and the decor is cool and chic. Lots of tasty tapas to choose from at really reasonable prices. The drinks menu is especially exciting, featuring Spanish wines, cava, sherry and cocktails. This is definitely going to become a favourite with the locals!
