Little Tiffin Review - Greenpoint - New York - The Infatuation

"Little Tiffin opened in Greenpoint during the summer of 2020, and has become our go-to for Thai takeout and delivery in the neighborhood. Try the pad see ew with perfectly cooked Chinese broccoli and super fresh som tum that hits all the spicy, salty, sweet high notes - dishes inspired by the cooking of the owner’s grandmother, who was a chef for Thai royalty in Chiang Mai. Little Tiffin isn’t on the delivery apps, so give them a call or order from their website directly. They’re also open for outdoor dining." - Katherine Lewin

Really tasty Thai food with authentic flavors. We got a variety of entrees and shared which was a good move. The restaurant doesn’t have good AC, so be ready for that. Spice + no AC is a tough combination. Definitely recommend for a local bite

Google
I’ll start by saying I don’t really like Thai food. I don’t like the smell of fish sauce, and I usually find the noodles too thick. But my foodie wife loves this place, and another couple wanted to try it, so we met there. My wife says their soup is the best in the area, a perfect blend of sweet and sour. I’m on a diet, but the mango sticky rice looked amazing. They’re getting five stars because I love the ambiance: cozy, with space for our stroller, upbeat Thai music from the 70s, and interesting photographs from Thailand on the walls. Our server even took our picture twice. So even though I don’t like Thai food, this was a very pleasant experience, and if you do like Thai food, it will probably be even better.

Google
Wasn’t a huge fan of thai until this place! flavor was incredible the noodles were textured perfectly and I loved the vibe inside! I really recommend the Lychee soda for a good non alcoholic alternative!

Google
We came here today for dinner and loved it. Definitely recommend to try the morning glory side dish, it's yummy with a lot of flavor. Also got the Pad See Ew and Coconut Crab curry (not pictured) and we loved everything. Will definitely return again to try more goodies.

Google
Amazing thai food in a beautiful restaurant, the decor is super cute and the food is so flavorful. The butterfly pea lychee drink was delicious and absolutely beautiful!!

Google
Amazing Thai food! Cute little place, but be careful to choose “spicy” over anything, they are really spicy 🫠🫠

Google
This is my favorite Thai restaurant in all of New York City. It’s always so fresh, flavorful and just the right amount of spicy. I always do the Pad Kee Mao which is spicy, Smokey and so well cooked - the noodles are chewy and never over cooked. I love Little Tiffin and always order when I am in Brooklyn !! Obsessed

Google
Beautiful restaurant and delicious food! I met owner Keith at the bar who was kind and talkative. My friends and I had a great time. Can't wait to come back again soon.

Yelp
I came to this place for the first time as suggested by a friend who's Thai. I arrived first and they still sat me without my entire party which was surprising because the dinner rush was already in full swing. The ambiance is so cozy and precious, love the woodsy feel and retro yet modern vibe. The ceiling was really high too, or maybe just made it appear that way from the decor on the sides. Our server Gigi was friendly and attentive, was helpful answering any questions, we were particularly looking for her recommendations prior to us ordering. An observation I noticed was that all the staff members assist in making sure your water is filled to the tip top of your glass, everyone helps run food to the tables etc. Impressive teamwork! What we ordered: Apps: Khanom Jeeb Pak (veg dumplings) Tom Kha (soup) Entrees: Yum Pak Boong Grob (crispy morning glory salad) Kua Gling (string beans in Thai paste) I met the sweet, small and mighty owner, Moni! She's a burst of energy and so hospitable. Thanks so much, I plan to come back to try lunch!

Yelp
I'm rarely in Greenpoint, so I took an opportunity to try a restaurant while I was there, and picked from a couple of Thai places near where I was, so that's how I ended up here. I use Pad Thai as my measuring stick for judging how much I like a Thai place, and the Pad Thai here was good - not the best, but good. The flavors could have been a little stronger but it was otherwise a nice dinner. I appreciate that the tofu was steamed/not fried and that there was a generous amount of crushed peanuts. Very friendly and attentive staff. They weren't too busy yet when I was there since I came in right after they opened in a weeknight, but they were on top of filling up my water glass, checking if I wanted a box to take home my leftovers, and when I wanted the check - al with a courteous smile.

Yelp
Ordered delivery for dinner one night - Tom yum soup, Gang massaman and Pad see ew with chicken. The pad see ew was the best of the three, though it was a little salty. Overall I thought the food was solid, if nothing special. Will stick to Tuk Tuk and Entaice for delivery in my area. 3.5 stars.

Yelp
Decent but not fantastic! I came here with my fiance and tried a variety of dishes. We had the papaya salad, fried calamari, morning glory, pad kee mao and Thai coffee/tea. The food was okay but nothing was fantastic. The Thai food scene has really exploded with phenomenal options in NYC, so I sadly can't see myself coming back. Additionally, my fiance had an intense stomach ache after the meal. 3/5, not bad but not great

Yelp
Amazing Thai place and great service in Greenpoint, Brooklyn! Very lively it was a Friday night we walked in around 8pm. It was packed but they soon after take us to the bar counter which was even better that all the noise you can behind it and lovely bartender :) all the food was amazing, the Basil Fried Rice you must to try and feel the Thailand!

Yelp
One of my favorite lunch specials in Greenpoint, and my go-to Thai spot in the neighborhood! I've been here a handful of times and this was my first time trying the green curry. My friend got the red curry, which he reported was fantastic. The green curry was deliciously spicy (the eggplant is an excellent touch) and the vegetable broth appetizer was so wonderfully flavorful -- love the heavy use of ginger! Overall, this place has great dishes with ample portion size (their pad Thai and fried rice are both fantastic as well), lightning-fast service, and a lovely ambiance that I've never experienced at night but I'd imagine would make for a great date spot. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I'm surprised this place doesn't have more reviews on yelp! It is the best thai food I've had in nyc so far. I came here with my friend who recommended this place and we shared everything. I highly recommend their fried tofu, roast duck red curry and pad thai. They also have tasty cocktails.

Yelp
Delicious and affordable spot in Greenpoint with friendly and efficient service! Highly recommend sharing a variety of plates with friends; my group of four shared the khanom jeeb, pad see ew with beef, massaman curry with shrimp, bamee puu, khao mok gai (chicken biryani), sticky rice with custard, and thai tea tart (+ a bottle of sake). It's hard to pick a favorite because everything was so delicious! Great service was icing on the cake. I'll be back to Little Tiffin :)

Yelp
Cozy Thai joint with reasonable prices! The pad Thai was enough for two meals for me and it reheats well. We came at peak dinner time on a Saturday and had no problem getting a table. Service was super quick and the food came out in record time!

Yelp
My husband and I discovered this restaurant while out bike riding one day in Greenpoint. Ever since then we love coming back. We sat twice outdoors during the summer time and once indoor during the fall. They're always busy so I recommend checking with the restaurant. The restaurant is cozy and intimate with dimmed lighting. I love tne bathroom decor.. it's filled with vintage photos and makes it enjoyable to stare at while you wash your hands. We tried several dishes on the menu but our must haves whenever we come are the Crab Fried Rice and Beef Pad See Ew. Then we usually add in 1 or 2 more appetizers to complete our me. Dishes are plentiful and always fill us up. Can't wait to dine in again!

Yelp
Did you know that tiffin means a light midday meal.. yah! It's a British expression for light luncheon or tea time. So, I decided to have a little tiffin at Little Tiffin in the heart of Greenpoint. Yes, it meant some schlepping, Jewish euphemism for " oy vey long way", from Bay Ridge... but it was worth every mile. I was in the mood for two things for my little tiffin: 1. spending my afternoon in Greenpoint and 2. eating Thai food. I entered this cozy, sweet and peaceful establishment and it looked like every Yelp photo posted! Just a great way to spend a breezy spring afternoon and also knew they serve a $12 lunch menu from 12-4, thus I took advantage of this bargain lunch deal. I haven't had Pad See Ew in a long time and decided to order it with chicken( you can get veggies, tofu or shrimp) and a small Thai salad ( other choice was clear Vegetable broth). I also ordered a Thai iced tea. The food, served to me by Nancy, came out piping hot in five minutes. Chopsticks were the utensils of choice.. practice.. practice.. practice. First the Pad See Ew: delicious chicken with wide noodles, eggs and Chinese broccoli, perfectly spiced and just the right size portion. The Thai salad was fresh and the peanut sauce was scrumptious. The Thai iced tea was a bit different, usually, depending where you go it can border between very sweet, sweet or a tad sweet. Their version was just a tad sweet but still refreshing. The menu has traditional Thai food entrees from dumplings to rice to Pad Thai. The service was spot on and as I ate my lunch they were handling multiple online orders. So why does my little tiffin rate five stars: Easy answer! Delicious home cooked traditional Thai cuisine in the heart of Greenpoint. Shout out to Nancy for the great service! If you want to experience a little tiffin for yourself then, hop on a G train to Greenpoint stop and exit at India Street and walk 3 minutes and then you are in front of this gem!

Yelp
If you're looking for an authentic taste of Thailand, this is the spot. Every bite reminded me of the freshness and flavors when I was eating in Thailand and I haven't had that in awhile! The appetizers were amazing. I'd get both the tofu and fried dumplings again. The sauces they were paired with were perfectly fitting too. We decided to try something new other than pad thai or fried rice so we got the BAMEE PUU, which was very good. Not spicy. There were large clumps of crab and a really good broth on the side. They also have both Leo and Singha Thai beers! The ambiance is very nice, it's small and very vibey inside. The service was very fast, somewhat to a fault. Which is the only reason I took off 1-star. We were at promptly and not told there was a reservation coming after, so right after we finished our food - but still had full drinks we were Super rushed out of our table which was unfortunate/inconvenient. So, we had to stand by the bar til someone got up (it's pretty small, only 6 chairs up there). Otherwise, it was very good and because of that experience I would recommend making a reservation , which I hope would allow you to sit at your table longer til you finish all your food and drinks...

Yelp
My mom loves to eat dinner at home every night, so for her birthday, I like taking her out for Thai food since she's a big fan of their papaya salad and it's not a cuisine she cooks at home. Came across this spot on Google, and was excited to give them a shot. The place was listed as 'casual' which was perfect for us since we have a 4 year old and 10 month old, and didn't want anything fancy, or where we'd feel out of place. Walked in and we were seated right away in a tight corner. The waitress/hostesses were friendly enough, and we proceeded to check our the menus. My older daughter (4) was intrigued by some decorative string of lights (cheap hanging lights around the window) and committed the terrible crime of touching them. This guy (white guy, tattoos, owner maybe?) rushed over to scold her in a way you'd think she was touching some sort of sacred artifact not to be marred by human hands, let alone a --gasp-- a CHILD! It was a complete over reaction, and left me pretty pissed. Listen, kids are annoying, I'm the first one to say it, but she literally reached out to touch a shiny colorful string of lights, and you rudely rushed over to yell at her, which was quite an overreaction. I'm mindful to not go to places that are not suitable for children, or go out late to avoid dates and interrupting adult diners, but it was 7 pm, dude. Despite that dumb reaction from that guy, the food was decent. The star of the dinner was some side ginger broth that I will try and replicate at home. My mom, the birthday girl LOVED her dish (Shrimp clay pot thing, which was recommended by our waitress. Overall, we all enjoyed our food, nothing spectacular, but tasty. After the string of lights debacle, as a mom, I was so uncomfortable thinking my kids were annoying this guy, and every peep my 10 month old made, I felt like I had his wrathful eyes on me. My girls are incredibly well behaved, and my 4 yr old sat quietly and didn't even go near the lights after he scolded her. But alas, he ruined the night. I couldn't get out of there soon enough, and forfeited dessert (even though I really wanted to try the lime dessert) because I just felt uncomfortable. So, TLDR. Food OK, may have even gone back if it wasn't for the child hating white guy with tats. Just avoid if you have kids. But maybe go in for a bowl of their ginger broth.

Yelp
Best Thai food in the area. Amazing. The food is just insanely good. Tasty tasty tasty. Go to for ordering and eating in.

Yelp
Little tiffin is a cute little Thai restaurant, this place can get packed really quickly, however we were able to score some seats at the bar! The employees were friendly and answered our questions. The bartender was pretty friendly as well, he made us our drinks as soon as we placed our orders. My husband ended up getting some kind of noodle dish and I ended up getting the chicken pad Thai. The food was good, the place was cute and staff members were so friendly! Definitely check this place out if you're in the area!

Cierra R.

Yelp
Tried Thai food for the first time and it was here. I don't want to try it anywhere else! Greeted with a warm welcome and seated immediately! Small restaurant but warm, cozy, and has an authentic feel! Favorite thing to order is the Pad See Ew and a good ol' Thai iced tea!

Yelp
I love you, I love you, I love you, Little Tiffin.Delicious food. The spicy Pad Krapow is my favorite comfort food. The service is excellent! I love everyone that works here. The music is so cute and funny. I do love coming by when they're the most quiet, however the time is confidential. I'm not sharing that. Thank you!
google avatar

Yelp
Super cute Thai place in the same place where there's been so many other iterations of a Thai restaurant over the last two decades. They do usual lunch options, the ambiance is nice, the staff is very accommodating, but unless I work in the neighborhood, I probably won't be back.
google avatar

Dominique N.

Yelp
An authentic Thai restaurant in Brooklyn? Yes please! This intimate place offers family recipes from Thailand, plentiful portions, and balanced spice-taste ratios. The bathroom is cool too, with photos and ads from Thailand in the 1970's. Quirky, cool, and authentic!
google avatar

Yelp
I love trying out new Thai places I have not been. I went to little tiffin today and it is such a cute spot in greenpoint. To start off we ordered the Thai iced tea which was super tasty. I liked that it wasn't too sweet and that I could actually taste the tea. Lots of Thai places make it way too sweet for my liking. Also, we ordered the green curry and pad Thai. I'm not a pad Thai expert so I can't say if it was really good, but it was tasty. The curry to me was slightly lacking in flavor. It was on the spicer side and marked spicy on the menu if you are not a fan of spice. However, I liked the spice level it was at. Overall I liked it. I would go back and try the pad see ew because that's typically my go to order!
google avatar

Annick F.

Yelp
Disappointing food. Thought this was going to be a smash hit. But instead the vegetables tasted either bland and were the sticks/stems instead of the actual vegetable (broccoli) or it was so spicy you couldn't really eat it. Sorry not ordering again :(
google avatar

Nicholas G.

Yelp
This is probably the best Thai food in the Williamsburg/ Greenpoint area. They have a similar menu to most Thai spots but the food is better than all the others in the area. They don't have spring rolls which is an odd choice. BUT they do have crazy shrimp and chicken dumplings which are great.
google avatar

Cathy D.

Yelp
Very yummy and fresh tasting home cooked Thai food in a sweet atmosphere with great music playing. I was boring and had the Thai fried rice with chicken but it was just what I wanted. My friends and I shared the mango sticky rice for dessert and it was wonderful. The three of us ate our plates clean. Staff was super friendly and all had masks on. Went at 7pm on a Thursday and didn't have any trouble getting seated inside. There's also outside seating next to a beautiful mural. The vibe is definitely casual in a good way. Just super charming vibes. I saw lots of people coming in to get takeout so it seems like this is a popular takeout spot.

Yelp
Best Thai food I have found since I moved to NYC. Cute lil low key spot, nice staff are always welcoming even though I am only running in for a quick take out. Need to spend some more time here as the food is authentic and next level delicious
google avatar

Liz S.

Yelp
We had a nice dinner here on a Friday night. Cute little Thai place with all the standard dishes. The Thai iced tea was overly milky and didn't have a strong tea flavor but was still sweet and refreshing. The waitress was friendly and let us know about a special dish but she told us about it after we had decided on our entrees (and not when giving us menus) so we passed on it. Maybe next time!
google avatar

Violet M.

Yelp
I just hopped off the train looking for some good food and I came across this quiet looking spot. Immediately I was greeted by the hostess and they sat me. The food came out so quick, this is the best Pad Thai I've ever had so far in NYC. It's funny because I was only looking to get a coffee but had to order since it smelled so good in there. The service was on point, everyone was so nice and attentive. A go to spot in greenpoint Brooklyn!

Yelp
Oh my god, we came on a very busy Saturday night and it was my first time at the restaurant as I am not from New York. We were visiting New York for the weekend and was recommended to come here! I gotta say that every time I crave thai food, I will think of this place. I am so sad that it is so far away from where I live. The food was authentic, jam-packed with flavor and amazing overall. I literally had no complaints other than the fact that I wish they had a little tiffin in Virginia. Not only is the food amazing, the atmosphere of the restaurant was very cozy and homey. It feels like you are eating a warm, home cooked meal. I definitely recommend you try this place out!
google avatar

Yelp
Cute little Thai spot that serves great food. We came on a Friday night and wait for about 40 minutes. We ordered the KHAO SOI GAI (Chiang Mai style curry with egg noodles, chicken drumsticks, coconut milk, pickled mustard greens, lime, shallots and crispy egg noodle), BEEF PAD SEE EW (Flat rice noodle stir fried with eggs, garlic, Chinese broccoli and sweet soy sauce), THAI ICE TEA and LYCHEE SODA BUTTERFLY PEA FLOWER.

Yelp
A hidden gem! The food was excellent and service is always welcoming and enjoyable. Some of my fave dishes are the Khanom Jeeb (dumplings), pad kee mao, and Thai fried rice.

Yelp
BEST THAI FOOD I HAVE HAD IN YEARS. Visiting friends in Green Point, this spot was right around the corner from their place. Excellent service, great prices, GREAT CURRY! Green curry is my favorite Thai food, but more often than not I find myself wanting more flavor. The green curry here took me to flavor town. I'm mainly creating this yelp review so I can remember how good this place is. 14/10 would recommend.

Yelp

Yelp
Likes - delicious food - friendly staff - closed to citibike and subway - nice neighborhood Dislike - none

Yelp
Pricey but good flavors in cute space. A nice date spot or place to catch up with a friend. One star off because the dinner portion was a bit small for the price and I would have liked to have leftovers, and the Thai basil garnish wasn't washed properly. I got the duck stir fry and it was spicy and delicious.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I are walking around the area, not expecting to go out for dinner. We ended up checking out Little Tiffin because it was right across the street from the subway we needed to take to get home. The restaurant was quite crowded for a Tuesday evening at 8 PM, and we luckily were able to be seated because they had a no-show for a reservation. For drinks, we got thai iced tea and the butterfly lychee drink - the thai iced tea was very heavy on the condensed milk and couldn't taste the tea that much, but still yummy and I really liked the refreshing butterfly lychee drink, which included two lychees in the drink. My boyfriend ordered the Pad Kee Mao with chicken - it had the right spice level and wasn't too greasy, he was very satisfied. I got the Pad See Ew with tofu - I would have ordered the Pad Kee Mao as well, but unfortunately they couldn't make it vegetarian. However, I was happy with my choice - it was very flavorful and I liked the texture of the tofu. For dessert, we ordered the sticky rice with coconut custard. It was a great way to end the meal and the perfect amount of sweet. I've already recommended other friends to try this restaurant out!

Melissa R.

Yelp
I have a shellfish and used to get their tofu pad Thai. Recently they told me their pad Thai DOES have shellfish in it, so I can no longer eat it. Not sure what they changed, but just a heads up to anyone with the same allergy.

David A.

Yelp
We ordered takeout for pickup as had heard some great reviews from friends. However we were really disappointed. Couldn't believe how bad the salad was, looked like it had been left out for days, lettuce was browning and we ended up having to throw it out. Green curry was actually okay but mostly eggplant with little chicken. Pad See Eww looked like it had been reheated in the microwave. Was all congealed and slimy.

Nicole T.

Yelp
Best authentic Thai food. We always order from here and the food is always fresh and delicious. I wish more Thai places had a menu like this.
google avatar

Jason S.

Yelp
Amazing food. Period. I would highly recommend to anyone. The owners are also so friendly and they have us a free appetizer.

Yelp
My favorite Thai hole in the wall. It's quaint and charming, perfect for a small group or couple. Service is rather quick and food is delicious. Don't leave without trying their mango sticky rice!

Yelp
Always welcoming...delicious food at a reasonable price. Intimate, modern ambiance with cute candles and interesting photographic art. A great spot for favourite Thai dishes. I highly recommend.

Yelp
Stir fry morning glory is way too spicy... the portion is also a bit disappointing tbh

Yelp
A lovely little gem. Delicious Thai food! Their lunch specials are great too with the side of soup!

Yelp
In town for the weekend and decided to try this place for dinner. It's a nice cozy restaurant with good menu options. The food is good. Nothing spectacular. But, the mango sticky rice is a must for dessert.

Bruce K.

Yelp
Delish! We really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service...a must stop when we're in Greenpoint/Williamsburg.
google avatar

Spencer H.

Yelp
Excellent service, nice atmosphere, and delicious food. We were a party of seven. The table shared gai satay, khanom jeeb, and khanom jeeb pak. I also got the Tom Kha which was great. My entree was the gang hunglay. We also got a side order of Chinese broccoli. Everything was so good. We really enjoyed our food. I'd love to go back!
google avatar

Taylor C.

Yelp
Had the Gai satay, and the TOFU SOUNG KRUNG. The gai satay was good the sauce was a bit watery for my taste though. The tofu was rubbery and had a bit too much oil for me and the overall taste of the tofu stir fry was barely there. Overall nice atmosphere and food and I'd come here again just maybe order something different.

Yelp
I'm a big pad see ew guy. Always have been. So, I go to this place and order the pad see ew. Now, here's the thing, most places don't have very good pad see ew with beef and I always want them to have good pad see ew with beef but they never do. A good pad see ew with beef is my white whale. I usually end up getting pad see ew with chicken which is fine. Gets the job done. But, when I walked into this place and saw the beautiful decor and the mood lighting and I heard the cool music, the PERFECT music for this setting, I thought, maybe this is the place. Maybe this will be the place that finally nails the pad see ew with beef, and they were. It was great. My friend got the red curry with duck and that was fire too.
