The 38 Best Berlin Restaurants | Eater

"A true gem among the somewhat dreary chain restaurants that dominate this office-heavy part of town, Liu is Berlin’s go-to for sharp bowls of Sichuan-style noodles in a range of varieties. Head over at lunch for the hand-made tianshui noodles, laden with sesame, which are a standout. But top-notch chile oil, soy sauce, and Sichuan peppercorns make all options a good bet, from meat to mushrooms. The spicy chilled noodle dishes in summer are a refreshing mix of hot and cold." - Tim Forster

Liu - Review - Mitte - Berlin - The Infatuation

"This Sichuan noodle spot on a quiet street near Checkpoint Charlie is the best option for lunch in downtown Mitte. Not only is it affordable, but it’s also some of the best spicy noodles and dumplings you can find. Order at the counter, take a number, and the food is brought to your table. There’s a constant wave of office workers here, but no chance to avoid it as Liu is only open until 3pm (apart from a monthly hotpot night) - but it’s worth the time in line. Plus, there’s a lot of outdoor seating if you come in the summer." - Barbara Woolsey

I would safely say these are one of the best noodles in Berlin! Cooked perfectly and the sauce/broth was amazing and well seasoned! The noodles were soft and firm at the same time and you could taste the flavour in every bite! The meat was soft and also well seasoned. The spicyness🌶️ was mild so if you like really spicy even level 2 is not as spicy as comparable places. There was a que for the table

I can't say for sure, but this is probably the best Sichuan street food in mainland Europe. Chaushau are made fresh daily, and served soup style. It's absolutely worth trying the entire menu here. The most popular dish is the Chengdu style zajiangmian.

Excellent noodle and dumpling dishes with various degrees of spiciness. Vegan and vegetarian options are available. Very busy, but you always find a spot to squeeze in. Best place in Mitte!

absolutely phenomenal! The perfect balance of spicy, numbing peppercorns and rich flavors left me craving more. Each bite delivers an authentic explosion of taste. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates bold, unforgettable cuisine

it’s busy around lunch time. prepare to wait 10-15 minutes. once ordered food arrives almost instantaneously, though. the noodles were very tasty! flavorful, garlicky, saucy, oily - all the good stuff. i tried spiciness level 0.5 and 2, neither of which were at all spicy? i haven’t tried 3 but up to level 2 it wasnt spicy at all so id be surprised if there was a sudden jump in spiciness for level 3. there is plenty of vegan options and most of the dishes have a vegan version. lastly, do NOT get the plum tea (as pictured) idk why but it tastes like bbq sauce…

I liked the food here. It was very busy when we got there but we didn't have to wait for too long to order and get a table. The food can be very splashy though, so they offer plastic bibs for protection.

Absolutely amazing. If you can hold your spice definitely go for spice level 3. I had level two and didn't find it that spicy. Just a pleasant kick to it. Food is an absolutely delicious and definitely add more of their chilly oil thats one the tables. Not spicy and just a flavour bomb

It was okay. I was expecting a much more authentic taste, like what I’ve had at other restaurants. The "ma la" flavor didn’t really come through - there was no numbing sensation, even though it was quite spicy. The waiter also tried to clear our plates while they were still half full, which felt like they were rushing us out. I don’t know… I just wasn’t satisfied, unfortunately.
