But top-notch chile oil, soy sauce, and Sichuan peppercorns make all options a good bet, from meat to mushrooms. "This Sichuan noodle spot on a quiet street near Checkpoint Charlie is the best option for lunch in downtown Mitte. Not only is it affordable, but it’s also some of the best spicy noodles and dumplings you can find. Order at the counter, take a number, and the food is brought to your table. There’s a constant wave of office workers here, but no chance to avoid it as Liu is only open until 3pm (apart from a monthly hotpot night) - but it’s worth the time in line.
