"If you’ve been meaning to branch out to other styles of hot pot (there are many!), head to Liuyishou for the mouth-numbingly spicy Chongqing version. Similar to Sichuan, Chongqing hot pot is known for its selection of ingredients and bold flavors. But don’t be intimidated — Liuyishou also offers plenty of mildly flavored broth bases, such as coconut chicken and wild mushroom, to ease you into this genre of cuisine." - Erika Adams, Valerie Li Stack, Eater Staff

"Located in Chinatown in a space that was once a McDonald’s, Liuyishou Hotpot opened here in 2019, featuring Chongqing-style hot pot; its opening helped shift Boston’s once-dormant hot pot scene into one that delves deeper into regional hot pot specialties. With over 1,000 locations around the world, Liuyishou prides itself on serving mouth-numbingly spicy, rich, and aromatic broth cooked with tallow." - Valerie Li Stack

"Chinatown experienced more closures than openings this year; most of the (very few) openings were bubble tea shops. But this hot pot chain — which is based in China and has more than 1,000 locations worldwide, including in New York City — was a bright spot in a slow year. It opened in Chinatown in January 2019 and offers diners Chongqing-style hot pot, which is a spicy preparation made with Sichuan peppers. The presentation is notable for a wooden wheel of sorts that holds all the thinly sliced meats, ready for dunking in the pot in the center." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal, Terrence Doyle

This is a good hot pot restaurant in central Chinatown, Boston. The ingredients are fresh, tasty, and at a good price. The sauce bar has all the usual suspects. For the 2 diner special, the sauce and desert bars are included. Overall, a good experience.

I recently visited Liuyishou Hot Pot in Boston, and it was an amazing experience! The super - value combo for two is a real steal at just $55.98, and it even includes the sauce bar and soup bases. We chose the Tomato and Signature White Pepper Chicken Soup bases. They were rich and flavorful, making everything we dipped in them taste great. For the proteins, we went for the Prim Beef and Lamb. The meat was so tender that it melted in our mouths. The nine - platter selection offered a wide variety of ingredients, satisfying all our different taste preferences.

Tried Liu Yi Shou Hotpot and had a great experience! The environment was clean, and the service was wonderful. We especially enjoyed the duck hotpot broth. We ordered the combo for two, which came with a variety of proteins and veggies. Definitely planning to go back again.

Google
This is my go to spot for amazing hot pot! The ingredients are always fresh, the broth options are rich and flavorful, and the sauce bar has everything you need to customize your perfect bite. The atmosphere is lively and fun, which is perfect for group dinners. Always a great experience!

Probably the best genuine Chinese hot pot restaurant in Boston. Easy order with iPad setup, quick service and great quality food served in a huge portion. It is located in Chinatown of Boston.

Google
The meal was pleasant, the service was very good, and the food was fresh. It was as good as the Liu Yishou Hotpot I had in New York before! We ordered combo for 2,we have small appetites, so we ordered two additional dishes, which were just right!

When I say you had to ROLL me out of this place, I mean it. My cousin and I were in town and decided to come here after a day of shopping and sightseeing cause we were getting to the point of being hangry. It literally hit the spot and was all we could ask for and more! There was a small wait when we got there, but we were on our feet the entire day so 40 minutes was totally okay for us. While waiting, we were already given the iPad to choose our meats, veggies, and other items we wanted for our hot pot. We had decided to get the house specials, spicy and non-spicy, and loaded up on the meats. We were definitely thinking with our tummies and not our minds cause it was just a lot. If you want variety, they for sure have it! We got the beef & lamb platter WITH the deluxe beef platter, and let's just say that was probably better suited for a group of 4-6 instead of 2. Anyway, it was all delicious, and both soup bases were flavorful and properly seasoned. Not too oily either for those who were wondering. The serving staff were also on point. Usually in places like these with so many people and large parties, smaller groups may get lost in the mix, but we were always offered water here and there and asked if we wanted anything else to add. A small thing to point out that I personally appreciated, was that we were handed plastic bags to place our outerwear/bags in so that they wouldn't have that "hotpot" smell afterwards. It really did make a difference! We also didn't realize this was a chain restaurant, so we'll definitely be checking out the one in Houston soon!

Google
We had heard that Liu Yi Shou is one of the best hot pot spots in Boston, so after watching a movie, we headed straight to Chinatown to try it out. It’s a walk-in system, and we arrived around 6:40 PM on a Sunday evening. The wait was about 15 minutes. During the wait, they provided an iPad for ordering, which was great because it allowed us to see the prices of each dish and keep track of the total cost. We ordered some fun and unique dishes, including the beef and lamb “flying disk,” millet rolls with fat snail shrimp paste, taro, and a few others. These items were quite novel and reasonably priced. The condiment station is charged per person and offers a wide variety, including chicken feet, sesame chicken, freshly made mochi, and even an ice jelly station. Overall, it was a flavorful and well-priced dining experience.

Yelp
Popular hotspot joint on the edge of Chinatown and tufts medical. We came on a Saturday as a party of 2 on a late afternoon, because we knew how popular this place is, and were able to get a seat right away. We did half spicy and half mushroom based broths, got a meat combo, Napa cabbage, bak Choi, and potato noodles. The broth is excellent, the blending they do here is really reminiscent of the top tier hot pots in Beijing. Meat quality is great and the prices is reasonable with their portions. They have this little sauce bar that also has an assortment of other appetizers that functions like buffet-AYCE-style, that's maybe $5/person. Meaning you could pick up an unlimited of their little chicken wings, sesame balls, pickled radishes, amongst other small bites. They have a little soft serve machine too! tldr; fancy hot pot place that has top tier broths and unlimited sauce/appetizer bar

Yu Y.

Yelp
Plan ahead and make a reservation since they're always packed. It's very lively and good for family meals. They have many meat options as well as a wide selection of tofu and veg. We got one spicy and one no spicy broth. There is something for everyone The sauce bar is extra but well worth it. There's fruit and icecream included.

Yelp
Been wanting to come here for quite some time now but every time we try to come, there is a line. Of course, that only drove us more to wanting to come here. Location wise. This is very convenient, as it is very close to the theater distric. Their service was good, the staff were very prompt to help, and they both speak Mandarin and Chinese English perfectly, so there's no need to feel worried about not being able to speak with the staff. Additionally, the menus are on iPads, so there are pictures and descriptions of items for you to select and order. We went during lunch, so there was a special that's going on Monday through Friday for the luncheon. Period for two people. The cost is roughly $60 which includes the all you can eat appetizer station, and dessert bar. When ordering your broth to cook your meat in, you have a wide selection to chose from. Best of all you can select two and they will provide it in a pot that's divided in half so you can enjoy both broths. Overall, the presentation is beautiful when it's brought to your table. The meats look and vegetables are fresh, with beautiful marbling on the meats, and it's everything you would expect from a high-end hot pot restaurant. The one drawback is the selections they offer for the appetizer station. A lot of it seems very cheap and very oily, with a lot of the chili oils on it. So really nothing you'd be interested in eating too much of. I'm a sucker for ice cream where I can always find room for a big bowl of it. The soft serve was the best way to end the meal.

Yelp
This is my favorite hotpot place in Boston! There's always a line when you come at peak dinner times and the wait would be 1+ hours so highly recommend getting on the waitlist ahead of time (which you can find on their website. The quality of the broth, sauce bar (which includes both appetizers and desserts), and anything you order is great. There's also some specials so check their instagram profile often!

Yelp
Had a great time with my bestie on my last trip here. We got so lucky and didn't have to wait to be seated. The two broths were so tasty. Learned from my bestie to get a bowl of coconut chicken soup before you add your food, they literally add a fresh coconut. The proteins were great and I loved the shrimp paste. We also ordered a little too much for the two of us. We wanted to try a bit of everything. The sauce bar was so worth it because it came with some side dishes like chicken wings, spring rolls and then the dessert afterwards. You can either make your own dessert or grab a hood ice cream which I did both. Not super pricey for 2 people but you could definitely get your monies worth if you order less and eat more at the sauce bar. Super nice interior, friendly staff.

Yelp
I used to go here all the time a few years ago before I discovered other places and haven't been back until last week. I first want to note that this is by far the best and most authentic Chinese hotpot in Chinatown. The other places (Shabu Zen, Kaze Shabu, Q) are good but different type of hotpot because they don't have authentic Chinese spicy broths and they don't have sauce bars. I love how they use the Minipass app for the wait so you can join the wait on your phone. I didn't have to wait too long and the travel time took up most of my wait so by the time I got they we were sat almost immediately. The service here is super friendly and everything you order is on an iPad which is common for hotpot and Asian restaurants. I personally like it better this way. I got two broths, the house spicy broth with medium spice and then the pork bone broth. The house spicy broth comes with a bear of beef tallow I believe and their broth is pretty spicy as it should be and really good. Pork bone is not too flavorful but good to balance out the spicy. We got the sauce bar, two different kinds of beef (one fatty and one more lean), bean curd, sweet potato noodles, these thinner hand pulled noodles (forget the name), bok choy, and tofu puff. The sauce bar is great since it has spring rolls and other side dishes like fried buns with condensed milk, pig ear, spicy tofu skin etc. One thing that is very nit picky is that I hate how the cilantro at the sauce bar was mostly stems. I hate dipping my sauce and it being crunchy from the stems. The sauce bar also has a dessert bar which is new since last time I was here. They had a coconut sago pudding and jelly pudding and various toppings. The food items were great and good portion sizes. The meats were both really good but I prefer the fatty one over the lean one. They give you a huge amount of sweet potato noodles and same with the other noodles. One thing that was disappointing was that the bok choy was covered in dirt and I didn't realize until I had already thrown it into the pot. Bok choy is a very dirty vegetable with dirt and sometimes bugs on it so it needs to be rinsed thoroughly. I notified the server and they were extremely apologetic and offered to give us a new pot but I realized it's probably too late if I was already eating some of the dirt. They gave us 10% off and brought this passion fruit drink over which was so nice of them. Next time I will definitely be getting the passion fruit drink! Despite my bok choy being dirty, the service and food here are really great and the way they handled the issue was too nice. I don't know if it is always worth the wait since sometimes the wait times are excessive but it is great you can join the wait online!

Yelp
Having tried most of the hotpot places downtown Boston, I'm glad to have finally gotten around to trying Liuyishou. This place is always really busy but to keep the wait down they allow you to order your food and broth from and iPad so it's already one it's way out as your getting seated which is pretty cool. For the broth we split the medium spicy house special and tomato. Just a heads up their medium level of spice was about as hot as most other places hot level. Still great but definitely something to keep in mind if it's your fist time. The broth was delicious and very flavorful with their veggies/meat being pretty comparable to other places in the area. Overall we will for sure being coming back for more!

Yelp
This is my favorite hot pot place in Chinatown. It's the place I always bring friends when I want to wow them with their first hot pot experience, and it's the place my hot pot-loving friends and I routinely meet at when we don't want to go to Allston. It's pricey, but the ingredients are top-notch and come beautifully presented. I love that you can order on the iPad, and they bring everything over to your table. The soup broths are great, and the staff do a nice job of coming by to refill your broth throughout your meal. The appetizer bar and the free desserts are a nice touch too. Come early if you don't want to wait in a long line.

Meiyi Y.

Yelp
My friends and I got the Liu's House Special Soup Base for one half and the House Special Pork Bone Soup Base for the other half. Both were pretty standard. The signature shrimp paste was worth trying. Their lamb skewers were well-seasoned. We also got beef tripe, boneless duck feet, tofu platter, and vegetable platter. The sauce buffet with appetizers (fried mantou, fried chicken wings, chicken feet, edamame) and dessert charges extra $3 per person. Overall, decent hot pot place! The wait for a Sunday dinner was super long. We were a party of 4 and waited from 5:40 to 7pm. I would definitely recommend joining the waitlist online early. Each table has a QR code for the online menu and everyone can add to the order at any time, which is nice. Great restaurant for a casual dinner with friends!

Anita L.

Yelp
Delicious food! They have free Doritos at the front and the best mints! It definitely can be a wait but it wasn't too bad right at 5pm. Make sure to download their app to wait in line if you're coming during dinner time. Like other reviews mentioned, the medium spicy hot pot is pretty freaking spicy. I love spice and it definitely kicked my butt! The tomato broth was also very flavorful so I recommend getting a split pot to cool down! I did like the sauce bar, especially the little sides like peanuts, fried mantou with condensed milk, spicy pig ears, spicy boiled chicken, and the bingfen dessert. I will say I didn't expect how large the portions were and definitely over ordered. The plates/bowls were big! Good for a big group. Also don't skip out on their mints - they're amazing and only primarily available here!

Yelp
On a Monday night, they still had a wait line, even though it wasn't that long until it hit around 6:30PM. Luckily we were seated before that. It's La carte here rather than ayce, so if you have the money to spend , go ahead. My husband doesn't eat spicy so we got the two pot broth, I got the house special spicy broth (mild) and he got the pork bone broth. Let me say, I'm very glad I got mild. It's the next day and I'm still paying for it. The soup bases were very flavorful. I kept on wanting to sip the soup. We got the beef and lamb platter, which is the ring of meat around our pot, and a platter of American beef. I think just the ring of meat was enough, we ordered too much. We still finished the meat tho. Surprisingly, the only leafy greens they had on the menu were spinach and bok choy. Which is fine, but if you're a watercress hotpot lover, you'll be disheartened. My husband got the chilled watermelon juice, which is essentially blended watermelon served in a cup of ice, because it tastes just like real watermelon fruit. And did I mention we ordered everything on an iPad? The servers only had to confirm what we ordered and we were done. My experience here was pretty good, but I still prefer my fave ayce restaurants.

Yelp
The entire experience at Liu Yi Shou Hotpot Boston was top notch. Electronic queueing while waiting to be seated, electronic ordering on the iPad, friendly professional staff and excellent food. So many choices on the menu; there's something for everyone. I don't live in Boston, but the Liu Yi Shou Hotpot Boston is definitely on my list of favorite places to eat there. I'm recommending it to everyone. Wish they had one near where I live.

G P.

Yelp
This place used to be McDonald's place, and they converted to hotpot spot. Service was ok, the food in General just like all other places but it's pricey and it's not affordable. Shabu-Zen, they provide with veggies when you ordered meat. Appetizers very few choices, probably 2-3 options, lol. This place you order through the menu individually they charge every single item including the sauce:( I wouldn't come back again it's because they can't beat like Shabu-Zen as better qualities/quantity. The crowd not as crazy as I thought it would be, the table is open if you come party of 5 or more. If you come as a couple then you be waiting it's because they have few small tables and have bigger tables for 5 or more party.

Grace S.

Yelp
we first tried to come on a saturday night but the wait was crazy long and hardly moving..so the next day, we made an effort to arrive at 5pm sharp and were seated immediately! i knew i needed to order whatever soup base came w the cute little cow and it actually turned out to be my favorite of the night. the meat is also great quality and a good balance between fatty & lean. i loved their little dessert bar so i could finish off my meal w a refreshing bowl of bingfen (chinese ice jelly)

Victoria C.

Yelp
It was unfortunate that McDonald's had to close this location, but Liuyishou hotpot is a great replacement. I came here for dinner on a weeknight and enjoyed the wide range of food selections available. We decided on the 3 different soup bases with lamb, beef, shrimp balls, tofu skin, vegetable platter, octopus, and noodles. They also have additional food at the sauce/dessert bar that is an extra charge per person. They have appetizers from buns to edamame to all the sauces you could need for your hotpot. The desserts section includes coconut sago and osmanthus jelly with plenty of toppings as well as soft serve ice cream. The service was fine and I enjoyed all the food that we ordered. If you create an account with them, you will get discounts on the food and for future purchases. Overall, a nice place to grab dinner and relax while eating to your heart's content.

Joseph L.

Yelp
Came here to eat on a Tuesday evening before going to the movies at AMC. Got there around 5 pm, and it was still pretty empty. The staff was friendly and very helpful with some questions we had. We ordered the pork rib soup base, which was very flavorful and great with the udon. For the hotpot ingredients, we got the deluxe beef platter, selected balls platter, and tofu platter. They were all good and very fresh but it was a bit expensive for the quantity we got. We also got the sauce buffet, which is pretty worth it. There was a large selection of sauce ingredients as well as fruits/side dishes/desserts.

My-Linh D.

Yelp
Overall, the experience was fantastic with a wide selection of meats, noodles, and vegetables. The variety offered at this place is impressive. However, considering the quality, the price may be a bit steep. During my visit with a group of seven, each of us had to pay an additional $3 for sauce, even though not everyone wanted it. Despite this, I particularly enjoyed their house spicy broth and meats, especially the lamb. Plan to spend around $40 or more per person to leave somewhat satisfied.

Lily T.

Yelp
Aesthetically pleasing in terms of presentation but over all, food was nothing special. Seems like a typical spot for a hot pot place. If you decide to get sauce from the sauce bar, it's $3/person. Sauces was DIY but flavor profile was off. It was probably me, not mixing a good ratio of sauces. Sauce bar comes with some fruit options as well. We got the duck broth and the tomato broth. They were fine but I wouldn't order it again.

Yelp
As good as Chengdu or Chongqing!! This restaurant started in Chongqing and has many locations in China. There are also over 20 in the US and Canada and 1300 locations around the world. It's a very high quality chain!! We loved this place and feel confident it's the best hot pot in New England. Our server was delightful and the food was served promptly. I am not Chinese and am not big on some of the organ meats, bullfrog, pig brain, aortas, etc you typically find in a Sichuan restaurant. However, if you look at the receipt below, you can see meal for three that was tasty for some picky and squeamish quests. If/when I come back, I'll get the same and add the Australian wagyu. I really loved the dipping sauce station. I made 3 different attempts and 2 were unbelievably good, I just wish I could recall the ingredients We went mid-day on a Monday. There was no wait. We were told people wait over an hour on weekends

Sandra N.

Yelp
I've wanted to try Liuyishou Hotpot for so long, like other reviews mentioned, there was always a wait! We came here on a Thursday night and still waited 10 min or so for a party to finish up. Got seated and were offered the sauce bar + apps + desserts for $2.99/pp. Honestly if I had known what it consisted of, I would probably skip out on this. Some fruits offered were straight out of the can (peaches). They had run out of some items and were slow in replenishing. Also the ice cream they offered was hootsie, not out of the ordinary. I should mention that I do not have a very high spice tolerance, but usually mild-medium is something I can work with. Some other friends I had did like the spice so we got it anyway. Unfortunately, many of us at the table were unable to eat the soup side that was spicy medium. After scooping out a full bowl of spices, we were able to finally tolerate it. The flavor was good- fatty and flavorful- but I don't think we expected it to be as spicy as it was. Overall based on the proportion sizes and value, it was ok. There wasn't any particular item I would *must* get. Based on atmosphere- There wasn't much ventilation in the place, and there wasn't a good spot to leave you coats/bags so they wouldn't smell. In terms of service- We had to ask for our broth and water to be replenished a few times since the workers were all over the place. I'm glad I tried it once, knowing that I tried it. Lol

Yelp
Hands down my favorite hotpot place in Boston! The quality is top notch my favorite broth is the tomato one (not pictured). Please get their fish ball with roe it is so so good! I have never had better fish ball with roe besides this place. Their meat is amazing! My bf and I usually get the beef/lamb combo. I also love the shrimp paste, lotus root, and fried tofu bean curd.

Aaron Yalun L.

Yelp
Very authentic Chinese hot pot, it has many stores in China but now in Boston. Many choices of different soup bases even having coconut chicken base. The sauce bar has a wide range of different sauces along with some cold dishes, fruits and snacks. I saw they have also recently added buffet desserts options and ice cream. Great place for friends to hang!

Sarah B.

Yelp
Aaaamaaazing! Located in Chinatown in Boston, this hot pot place can't get any better! They serve you so much food and you can get refills of broth! Trust me when I say mild is surprisingly hot. The server saw that we originally had medium and she immediately suggested a lesser spice as she/herself gets the least spicy. Pace yourself because you'll devour everything that no dinner conversation with be had. Truly amazing!

Julia R.

Yelp
I love coming here! They have great base options and a large sauce buffet with appetizers such as spring rolls. All of the waiters are super kind, friendly, and attentive. My family and I had some questions about how to eat hot pot, and they were very helpful. The environment is nice as well! Definitely recommend if you're looking for good hot pot in Boston.

Becky Y.

Yelp
Best hot pot I've been to outside of Asia. They don't take reservations on weekends, but you can join the waitlist online. They also give free yummy plum juice for waiting an hour or free meat for waiting two hours. There's a wide variety of broths and toppings to choose from and they have a make your own sauce station with some fruit, red bean soup, ice cream, and osmanthus jelly. We chose two hot pot broths. The tomato base was very flavorful, and the coconut chicken base is quite bland until it cooks for a while and there's a subtle taste. I liked the fish tofu, quail eggs, beef, and osmanthus jelly.

Yelp
Worst service and attitude ever. I'm very disappointed. We're party of 2 and walked in at 8:32pm on Thursday for happy hour deal. The manager said waiting time is 30mins or so. We waited until 9:30pm, the manager said there won't be any seating for us, and asked us to leave. Is it acceptable to kick out your clients after they waiting for one hour? They didn't offer any compensation for our time. We asked if we can get happy hour deal to-go, and the manager said that's absolutely not possible, unapologetically. After we left, I received a text message from them showing they seated other people due to our no-show.

Yelp
Delicious, quick, and informative in beautiful layout. This was my first shabu-shabu experience and they made it one for me to do more.

Yelp
I have been here for two or three times. This time the service attitude is the worst. A server accidentally knocked over the beef and water on the table. It spilled all over my friend's cloth, phone and wallet. He just said sorry calmly and left in a panic. He found someone to clean the table and did not show any obvious apology or compensation to us. When I finally checked out, I asked, didn't you say anything about this? Maybe a nice apology, or at least clean the water on the floor and chair. He just gave us a 10% discount like it doesn't matter When I asked where their manager was, he said he is the manager, but he was obviously not. A qualified manager would not be so perfunctory and inconsiderate of the guests' feelings. If this is Liu Yishou's normal service, it's really terrible. The food is delicious, the service is suck, the manager is fake

Ariel T.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places in Boston! Usually I go to happy lamb but they went downhill and this place is still a la carte. I prefer a la carte because typically I find that the quality is alot better than all you can eat, plus you seem to get more of a variety of things. They have everything from deep fried eggs to tripe. My favorite thing to get from here is the platter with lamb and beef. I love the presentation of it. Perfect for pictures and also just sharing with people. Every time I take a picture of the platter it wows me. Plus the broths and and the sauces are always on point. Shout out to the tomato broth! A few years ago during Covid they closed up shop, but now I'm so happy that my favorite place is back open. Plus the cozy ambiance, and the service here is awesome. I always see a lot of poc here (along with myself) so this is the real deal people!!

Helena Q.

Yelp
Although hot pot is not really a light meal, the extremely fatty broth makes this much heavier than usual. Though, of course, fat means flavor, making it also a very flavorful broth. I preferred the pork tripe and chicken broth over the original spicy broth, as it did have more depth of flavor and I enjoyed the pieces of tripe a lot. We opted for "less spicy" in the spicy broth, but random bites would be extra spicy because you'd often end up eating the sichuan peppercorn or peppers. The meat and veg were all solidly good, though they did not have an extensive selection overall. I liked the duck blood curd, though it's not especially suited for hot pot; I just enjoyed it haha. The quantities per dish were quite small, especially given the price. We ended up at just over 40$ pp with three people. In between normal lunch and dinner on Saturday, there was minimal wait, which was nice. Note the acetone they use for cleaning smelled very aggressively strong, though it dissipates quickly. I also did not like the paper bowls -- with the hot broth, it ended up getting kind of soggy. Overall, I enjoyed my meal well enough, but I probably won't be back.

Yelp
Quite overpriced but the quality and presentation is on point! I think I'd they're going to have such decorative plates they should have more table space because they're always so packed and our food never fits the table and I swear we aren't ordering tons of food! The hot pot tastes good and pretty presentation but it is pricey. For the price you do get a fair portion of food and I think it's a nice elevated hot pot place if you want to impress your family and friends! Definitely expect to book a reservation because the walk in wait time is crazyyyy

Yelp
You have to pay $2.99 for sauce which other restaurants don't charge you. The broth is at least $19. This place is a rip off. Don't go there. I'm serious you'll regret it.

Yelp
Coming from Seattle, Liuyishou's fried rice was my favorite. It was disappointing that the Boston location have different standards or recipes for the fried rice. Other than that it was good. Service was excellent as well.

Yelp
I'm often deterred from eating at Liuyishou simply because the queue is often too long (qq), so when my friends and I passed by on a Saturday evening and saw only a few people waiting, we jumped at the chance to enjoy what is possibly my favourite hot pot restaurant in the Boston area. Indeed, we were seated in around 20 minutes, which honestly is kind of unheard of for a weekend dinner. Ordering was entirely electronic (via QR code) now and despite the restaurant being bustling, we quickly received our incredibly-aromatic broths, plates of meats, and other various veggies/tofu/丸子 that we ordered. Food was amazing - meats were juicy and flavourful, broths were so fragrant and definitely authentically mala, and portion sizes were also very appropriate for the three of us to share. Price point was extremely reasonable as well; I was honestly a bit surprised at how low the cheque came out to be considering how stuffed we were at the end of the meal. I am of course super eager to come back, but unfortunately it's unclear when that might be... praying for the gods of queueing to smile upon me again next time :)

Yelp
Make a reservation!! Our party of 7 ate to our heart's content, a good balance of meat and veggies. Total came out to be $35 pp, which I thought was a fantastic deal with the quality of food and service we received. Sauce bar is extra, but essential (sesame paste, aromatics, chili flakes/pastes, all the dark Asian sauces...even MSG!!). Order on your phone, and food is brought out fairly quickly. Beef and lamb platter is a must (got 4 plates for the table), variety of veggies, tofu, etc. When soup was low, a waiter filled our pot, as we dotingly called his our "Souper"man. Sauce bar also has oranges to end your meal on a sweet note.

Yelp
this place is amazing. If youre ever in Boston Chinatown and craving chinese hot-pot Hai Di Lao style, this is very comparable. It comes with a buffet sauce bar, which I love creating my own sauces. I had to get the iconic soup with the giant cow. But beware, you have to order medium-spicy and it was intensely spicy. My sweat was drippin into my soup bc of how spicy it was. Also, the cow is made out of cow fat... not the healthiest option. Overall, would not order that again because i had the firey shz afterward and i felt like my arteries were getting clogged. I would order another pork bone broth and a beef platter. MUST ORDER is the Potato noodles-- those were delicious!

Yelp
SOOO DELICIOUS!! We stopped by here right when they opened, and good thing because the wait quickly increased to an hour once we started eating. Ordering was very easy through their iPad, and service was quick. It only took about 10-20 minutes to get all of our soup and dishes, I didn't even finish my starters before hotpot came out I think my favorite part was the broth, it was rich and spicy (even mild), paired sooo well with the udon which soaked up all this flavor!! The coconut chicken soup base was not spicy but sweeter than the classic. I would recommend the vegetable platter because it comes with pretty much all the vegetables you need, and perfectly serves two people. The tripe was also a must if you like tripe! Each slice was gigantic and it also soaked up the soup flavor really nicely. 100% recommend this hotpot spot but make sure you either get their when they open or be prepared to wait a while!

Yelp
I've walked by this place many times but never went in because I assumed that this place offers mala spicy hotpot only. Realizing that they have non-spicy broth selections, my friend and I came here at 5 PM prior to seeing a movie down the street. There was no wait but by 6 PM, the place was getting packed. We ordered the Deluxe Beef, selected balls platter and the tofu set. The broth was good but not super flavorful, the beef was of quality, the fish balls were AMAZING, and tofu was great. The sauce bar included some snacks and dessert items, which was great. I think the only other hot pot place that offers that is DLY in Allston. The overall experience was great. It wasn't as expensive as most people mentioned. I'm more of a quality over quantity person so I think it was fitting. Overall, it was a great experience. The service matches the rest of the Chinese restaurant experience, mediocre.

Yelp
Ambiance: nicely decorated inside. But it was quite a wait. For our table of 6, we waited for 20-30 minutes. Would recommend looking into reservations, especially if you have a larger party. The waitstaff was also pretty responsive. They also have a nice DIY sauce stand but it does cost extra (calculated by the person). Food: incredible. I was FLOORED by the size of the meat platter when it arrived. The meat doesn't just come in a regular place like a regular hotpot place. No. It comes encircling the pot and taking up more than half the table. Visually boggling and definitely adds to the fun of eating.

Yelp
Great hot pot spot in Chinatown - expect to wait about 1-1.5 hours around peak times at night / on weekends. Easy ordering system, though you might have to google some of the descriptions to know what the dishes are (I highly recommend the chrysanthemum leaves for veggies). My favorite soup base is the white pepper chicken soup base - which has a kick from the white pepper but is not melt your face spicy like some of the other options. The meat and veggies are fresh, the sauce station has everything you need for some authentic hot pot dipping sauce, and portion sizes are just right. Price is slightly on the higher side, but worth it for quality. Pro tip: there's no place to hide your clothes from the hot pot smell - so wear something you don't mind smelling like hot pot for the next few days or can throw into the laundry.

Yelp
Very yummy! The services is excellent. I love their spicy broth. Will definitely come back

Yelp
My favorite hotpot in Boston. Expect a wait if you come during winter season. They offer a variety of soup base, hotpot dishes as well as other Chinese dishes. I love their tomato broth. The signature broth is very very spicy so make sure you only select mild if you can't eat much spicy. The sauce bar has a variety of appetizers and fruits but sometimes they don't look tidy.

Yelp
I was there with my family party of 7 walk-in and was told about 40 mins, no problems we wait, 1 hour went by and see some empty tables, they said reservations reserved but they're 10 minutes late, if they're late can you give that table to us and we been here over a hour, I guess not. So we hang around for another 15 minutes just watching that empty table being empty, we had been told around 40 mins. Now ending up 1.5 Hour still got no table. We're very disappointed this is our first time to this location being treated like unwelcome customers. I just go some places else.

Yelp
This hot pot place was recommended to me by a friend and I cannot thank her enough. Warning though, this is a very authentic Chinese Hotpot restaurant. What that means is that there are many items on the menu that would typically scare the non-adventurous diner.but if you are seeking some authenticity when it comes to Chinese hot pot, look no further. I don't know if I will be going back to any other Hotpot places after this.

Yelp
I am all about this hot pot place! The food is good and the quality of the vegetables and the meat are top notch. No matter what you order, every thing looks fresh! The broth options are great (veggie and non veggie options) and the sauce station has everything that you need to make the perfect dipping sauce (a little strange that they charge for the sauce since that is a usually must in hot pot - who wouldn't need a sauce?!) During lunch hour, there are combo options which are totally worth it and the amount of meat that comes in there is more than enough for two, I walked away very content! The prices are also decent (not as cheap as Spring Shabu for AYCE but definitely affordable considering the quality of the food). One cool experience that is not food related: I love the ordering feature where you can add your items to your cart via your phone - some things I would like to see is 1. being able to separate the checks so if you are with a large group at one table you can manage your own tab and not get confused by what you added to the cart versus what another friend might have added. 2. while I have been able to place my initial order in the beginning, I have not yet tried adding to that order or finishing and paying via the app (we always order enough food in the beginning so haven't had the need to add items and also someone come had always come to close our bill for us) but I think that feature would be super useful if it was a busy night.

Yelp
Obviously the GO-TO for hotpot. Lines are extremely long during peak hours (dinner) so get there early! There was no line at 12, when they opened. I usually get the tomato broth and a foreigner spicy broth. The spicy broth is *SPICY*! Be careful (I say this as an Asian lol), but the mala (numb-spicy) is great. The fruit teas are great and fresh, I get a ton of noodles too. An amazing spot for hotpot, the environment is great and staff are super helpful.

Yelp
It's alright. I wish their food had more freshness to it. The bar sauce area was not up to par with cleanliness. They have iPads where you can order but the food description's are in another language so double check what your ordering. The staff was friendly

Yelp
Great hotpot place! Expensive, but the food quality is good. You also have to pay extra to use the sauce bar. But I went on my birthday, and you can get a free food item from a list when it's your birthday (i got noodles). We went early on a friday evening, around 5:30, and there was a line but we waited around 20 mins. If we came later the wait would've been around an hour. The spicy 3d soup base was REALLY spicy. Like too spicy to eat, and I have a high spice tolerance. We got the medium level. The pork ribs soup base was really good though, and super flavorful. The portion sizes of some of the food items were not worth it, like the tripe. They only gave a few pieces. The service was great though.

Yelp
We joined waitlist and got skipped without notification. We were so hungry that we had to rejoin the waitlist again and waited close to 2 hours to get seat. We were behind 5 parties and no one called my number or name, then we were skipped. I was so upset, I wasn't gonna walk in the cold to find another place. Then I had to reserve and be behind additional 25 small parties was ridiculous. They need to work on customer service. I saw so many people leave upset because they had no notification alert from the restaurant and waiting area was so pack to go up.
