Living Waters Brewing

Amazing coffee and amazing staff. Been looking for a brew bar and came across this gem. My goal was to try different varieties of pour overs, and LWB did NOT disappoint. Gabby (Gabi?) was so helpful in helping me make a selection and was so knowledgeable. Always afraid that at “real” coffee shops, the staff will be snobs but that’s not the case here. As for the coffee??? Superb! Like I said, a lot of different varieties, and the pour over menu rotates monthly. Atmosphere? Work environment friendly, with appropriate music. Not too loud, but enough noise to have a personal conversation without the person next to you hearing. Ample seating, clean restrooms, oh and it’s next to a record store. Win-win. Based on customer service alone, I will go back, but I’m stoked to see what they have next month!

I love this place! I first discovered them in December 2023, and now July 2025. Excellent coffee, excellent beer, particularly the barrel aged series ones. I like the decor and laid back atmosphere. Gabby is great. I will return again in the future and hope to also check out the second location that opened up about four months ago.

This is most chill brewery in Nashville plus you can get coffee and pizza if you like.

If you need a space to rest and relax after thrift shopping, look no further. Huge open space, some sofas and comfy seating, plus plenty other tables. Stopped by on an early afternoon last Sunday, not busy at all. Some good NA options, like this refreshing rose water spritz, forgot what else was in it but loved it. We also tried a signature light beer, which we also enjoyed. Friendly staff. Nice place to hang or meet friends. Definitely a preferred brewery for those looking to get away from the rowdy, chaotic downtown scene

both the espresso shot and the beers we tried were great. they have an excellent selection of fruited sours and goses, and the barista was friendly, pulled a stellar shot, and had great insights on what to try. i can't wait to share the 4-packs we picked up with friends!

Insanely underrated with excellent service and the best customers. I visited from Atlanta and had excellent beers and met the best people. They have amazing coffee (including pour over) as well as beers of all styles. They did an excellent job with everything I tasted. I really enjoyed it!

Great beer, especially stouts and clean beers. The beer that really grabbed hold of my palate was an IPA with an extra palate wrecking hops in it. It's hard to remember now, but it was glorious. They've made this several times under a new name. What keeps me coming in however, are the stouts and experimental hops IPA series they do. I love seeing the creativity from the folks here. Great space, great staff, good beer and coffee. So happy to have them in Nashville, TN.

Great local brewery with an epic range on tap - live music is often playing with a standard out quality of musicians - talented across the board. Awesome coffee too with global beans on offer to purchase too!

Living Waters is not only an exceptional brewery, but it is also a fantastic breakfast spot. Their breakfast burritos are delicious, and coffee/espresso drinks (specifically the Vanilla Latte) are great. Also, their baristas/beertenders have consistently been kind, polite, and helpful throughout all my endeavors. I also love Living Waters because it is usually a bit quieter, which provides a more intimate experience when hanging out with friends. Cannot recommend enough if you're looking for either breakfast or beers off the beaten path.

This spot was awesome. Love the chill coffeshop vibes while we were having beer. Would absolutely come.back to try some of the coffee drinks and cocktails. Their beer was also pretty great. In the top of Nashville brews thus far, esp for IPA lovers. Wish we could've taken home a pack but they were all sold out at the time. Will be back for a future release! The staff was nice and helpful. Would recommend a visit for sure!

Combo brewery/coffee shop, what more is there to say? The atmosphere is comfy library with absolute bops playing in the background. An excellent place to study, chill, and drink. The beer was exceptional. Best beer I've had in Nashville so far. Tried their selection of IPAs and was not disappointed. Didn't try coffee this visit but will definitely next time. Staff members were very friendly. Will visit again.

Living Waters is one of the most chill breweries I've ever been to. Granted, I visited around noon on a Friday, so it wasn't busy and there were several single people working on laptops, but the vibes of this place made me want to stay all day. Great playlist, great beer, comfortable atmosphere, and a coffee bar. What more could you want? It was strange that they only serve two 5 oz. pours at a time per person. The explanation was that it was "due to temperature." I've been to a ton of breweries and have never encountered this, but since we weren't on a tight schedule and it wasn't busy, it wasn't an issue for us. I can see where that might be annoying when the brewery is busy though. I'll definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

Rare 5 Star Review Fantastic Beer and even better Coffee Top 3 places we went to in Nashville. Amazing beers and even more amazing coffee. The attention to detail really is stupendous. Add in a crazy breakfast burrito and really have nothing negative to say. The staff is amazing, their pride to the business is on display. Nice patrons, nice atmosphere, amazing beers and coffees, food trucks for variety, and just comfortable. I am shocked how great this is. I could go for a specialty coffee right now. Too good, thanks

No flights allowed. You can only do 2, 5 oz pours per person. I waited in line for 30 minutes, got to the front and when I tried to order 4, 5oz pours I was asked who the other person was. I was confused. The server told me she could ring up all 4 though, and I could come back. "Wait, so, I would have to get back in line for 30 minutes to get the remaining two samples?" "Yes, I"m sorry" So if you want to try multiple beers here you have two options: - Buy full 16oz pours and get DUI-drunk (how silly is it that you can buy a 16oz pint but not 3, 5oz pours..which amount to LESS beer at 15 oz?) - Lie and say you are buying 5 oz pours for your friends Beer is very good, it's too bad the service is so aloof and pretentious. Not a fan of their logo either, looks like a pool filter company.

While Living Waters Brewing gets most of its press as a brewery, don't sleep on their coffee selection. Their chai with oat milk is one of my favorites in the city. I regularly stop by after yoga and it makes my morning. A sweat sesh and a chai is a perfect morning for me. Make the stop, get a coffee and if you're lucky they'll have a delicious food truck, burrito selection, or baked good.

Awesome brewery and coffee shop. Friendly staff and funky indoor outdoor space. They have cans of brews to go, great IPAs for sure. I got few beers and continued my brewery tour of Nashville. Definitely worth a stop and they open earlier than others.

Great fun place for kids and big kids! Large side deck for outdoor dining that feels like you're still at home with your friends and family enjoying a the perfect combo of beer and pizza. There is also a lower area for picnic tables and fire pits. The best part is a whole entire playground area for your kids to enjoy and run around!

As often as I stop in at Grimey's, until recently I never thought to also check out Living Waters though they share a parking lot. I'm glad I finally did! For one thing, they're offering the best of two important things: coffee and beer. So no matter what time of day you're in the area (well, so long as they're open!) you're covered. Craft coffees, excellent craft beers (I particularly love their "pretzel" tasting lager), and a spacious welcoming layout where you can post up and do a bit of work on your laptop if you so desire. So stop in at Grimey's and pick yourself up a stack of records then head next door for a hot coffee or a cold beer. Really friendly, helpful staff who make excellent recommendations to boot.

Super cute spot! Visiting from Portland, I was hesitant about the craft beer scene in Nashville but this place did not disappoint. There appeared to be a lot of locals doing work on their laptops and taking meetings. We just came in for a casual drink so it was great! There were good options for beer lovers and non-beer lovers or those adventurous to try a sour. The flavors were balanced and accurate to their descriptions. You should note- It is a brewery and that means it smells like they are brewing beer... I love that smell but a few folks in our group aren't used to it and so they had some aversion to the hop smell. Next time I'm in Nashville, I can't wait to go back!

You can find Living Waters Brewing at 1056 E Trinity Ln Ste 101, Nashville, TN 37216. This is in East Nashville which is more a region of the city than being east of Nashville proper. There's some limited parking out front and an additional lot in the back - I've come here on different days and times and haven't encountered a time where I wasn't able to find parking. Living waters has an interesting concept that I love - they do great coffee and they do great beer. I'm not sure how they staff with such a broad scope of business as they open quite early and close quite late. Whatever sacrifices they make are well worth my time, regardless. They have a great variety of beer, all good in my opinion, and they take a lot of care in making sure your coffee has the best quality standards. Yesterday morning I hit them for coffee - it was an espresso with milk - that was simply perfect. Coffees of this quality takes both skill and time but well worth it. Previously I've enjoyed quite a bit of beer from Living Waters. The other night I tried these: Highgate Imperial NEIPA 7.5% ABV - Well executed NEIPA with hazy tropical body, notes of coconut with a clean, slightly bitter dry finish. Multnomah Fruited Gose 6% ABV - Gose double-fruited with blueberry purée and blueberry muffins. A great poolside crusher this refreshing gose is sure to remind you of your favorite blueberry pastry and sweet tarts. Mille Imperial Milk Stout 9.3% ABV - This could get me drinking coffee stouts again, low bitterness roast coffee and sweet chocolate notes produces the perfect balance in this creamy thick stout. The service here is always quite good - they're always willing to make suggestions based on your likes. Kudos to this great brewery.

I love coffee. I love beer. But the mixed smell of both inside of Living Waters made me feel nauseous... and I wouldn't say that I have a sensitive nose. Luckily, there was outdoor seating! They allow two 5 oz pours per person at a time, so you'll need to split your order and go to the bar at least twice if you want to do a flight. My favorite was the dark red sour but in general, I wish that their beers had more body and flavor. Many were too watery or light for my personal taste. They have a good sized parking lot. It was fun to visit the next door vintage shop and vinyl record store afterwards. Both were popping on a Saturday!

I'm sitting here right now about to leave, but heading out with a great caffeine buzz and good vibes flowing through veins. This brewery/coffee roaster has great spaces to hang out and chat with friends and quiet nooks to get some laptop work done. I went with the cold brew and the Crieve Hall bagel and cream cheese. The cold brew was delicious! So good in fact I went back for seconds. Very smooth and amazing flavor, honestly just a great cup of cold brew coffee. The bagel was just as good. I opted not to get it toasted, which was the right move. The bagel was soft chewy and once it was topped with onion/chive cream cheese... ** chef's kiss ** This location is right next to Grimey's records, so get get your go go juice and got next door to support another local amazing gem.

We popped in to pick up a mystery bag I got from @jungle_house_plants. It is such a cute space! Brewery, coffee shop, and workspace! They collaborate with other small businesses as well! Great food truck outside too next to the nice outdoor seating areas. Great coffee!

Stay away!!!! Piped in music is totally offensive unless you like "sexually Explicit Rap". 6 songs in a row; and then we left - was NOT going to spend any more money there. (We're in Nashville - where is the country music??) I asked to speak with the manager ; spoke with bar tender; ambivalent - no change - "tough luck". Excellent German pils they brew. No Food but burger truck outside, and you can bring food in; GREAT burgers.

Absolutely loved stopping by Living Water during my visit to Nashville! I got a latte and my boyfriend got an IPA. We both LOVED our drinks and the amazing vibes. I definitely wish there was another location closer to home so I could visit more!

Such a cool atmosphere. Drinks; coffee and beer were good. Staff was numb. No music was on and place was empty. Feel they could do so much with this place. Tons of potential. Place should be packed. Hope they figure it out.

Great coffee and best beer in town IMO. No TVs (so don't plan to watch the game). Great place to pound some work over a preferred beverage. Cheers

This spot was my saving grace on my trip to Nashville! We stayed in the Airbnb spots right next door to here and I snuck away a couple of times to get some much needed rest and hit my reset button for the weekend. This spot is seriously an introvert dream. The inside has a very calming feel to it and my iced vanilla latte was so good- not too strong, not too sweet. My hot one the next day with oat milk was just as phenomenal! The baristas here were super cool and extremely helpful if anybody in our group had questions (because there's a lot to look at and try)! Definitely check them out and maybe pop in next door afterward to get yourself a vinyl or two :)

Always love the vibe and soundtrack in LWB. Coffee is wonderful, beer great, and tons of seating.

My wife and I are picky with our brews and the coffee we drink, and after trying some of the local coffee shops we had resulted to just rely on the good ol Starbucks coffee. After tasting many of the Living waters brews and coffee we can definitely say that these guys know what they're doing. Their beers and coffee was excellent, and the atmosphere completed the last bit needed for us to have a last memorable night in Nashville, TN.

Cool little spot on the East side of Nashville. They have beer that they brew and coffee as well. The atmosphere is awesome. There are food and snacks plates there.

Such a cute shop! They sell beer, coffee, and plants. What a cool idea! Perfect if you need a chill spot to bring a laptop and work.

I really wanted to like this place. The inside is awesome and I could imagine it'd be a great place to hang out on a date or with a friend. However, it's wildly overpriced and the service is awful. My wife and I got 2 coffees and 2 breakfast burritos , came to $45 ($50 including tip). We proceeded to wait almost 20 minutes for our burritos to be "heated up" while the staff behind the counter chit chatted with their friends and essentially forgot about us. Our iced drinks were 50% ice and 50% liquid. Again, this place looks cool inside and I really Wanted to like it but was turned off by high prices and insanely long wait time, not to mention it wasn't busy at all.

I'm a fan. I'm definitely a fan. What a fun idea. What a great location. What a solid execution. A lot of the time, I look around Nashville and see things that are done just for the he11 of it. Living Waters makes sense and adds to the coffee/beer landscape. It makes sense and fills a hole. If you haven't checked it out, you need to fix this. The first thing I enjoy about the space is the location. If you would have told me, four years ago, that anything new would pop up on Trinity Lane, I would have laughed at you. Now, there are new builds, dense living, breweries, and coffee shops. On Trinity Lane. What a time to be alive in Nashville. Of course, the demographic issue is problematic but one gentrifying issue at a time. The win here is that the 'East Nashville' footprint has expanded past an intersection. This is progress... sort of. Once I oriented myself, I was ready to walk in and see what this experiment was all about. I was pretty shocked how busy it was on an early fall Thursday afternoon. I was expecting to have the place to myself. Nope. There were so many butts in seats that I had to belly up to the bar. Know this. If you come at a more popular time, you may have to consider where you sit. Luckily, the shared space has plenty of parking. The murals are beautiful, the music fits the space and the employees were both chatty and kind. The vibe is all the way right here and I can see why so many people just never left. Seriously, for the entirety of my stay, no one left. (More) People entered but no one left. Being that gluten and I have consciously uncoupled, I spent my time perusing the coffee menu. I am more of a tea man but I wanted to fit in... so I made a pain in the @ss of myself by asking what could be made with nut milk, etc. If it weren't for such being de rigueur these days, I'd be embarrassed. More. I'd be more embarrassed. Unsurprisingly, the baristas had seen my kind before* and had answers at the ready. As I've written before, when given a choice, I like to go with specialty coffee drinks over the usual suspects. That meant I was having the colada. Yep, I ordered a citrus-forward 'colada' stle coffee beverage, served with a large ice cube and a pineapple leaf. It was different. I drank the entire thing without issue so... I liked it... but it was different. Drinking it, I flashed back to those chocolate oranges. Remember those? I kept flashing back to those. They had bakery-esque food available but none was gluten-free so** I kept my patronage to the liquid variety. I finished my drink, thanked the baristas, made a mental note to sit in the library next time, and made my exit. The brewery/coffee shop has been around for a little while now yet I hadn't heard/read much about it. My profile might not be as amplified as it once was (working on it) but, hopefully, this review will help get some butts in seats. Although, seeing as it was full on a random Thursday afternoon, it may not need the/my help. *I was encouraged that I witnessed two other patrons being PITAs, too, with their rando requests. **I'm writing 'so' a lot. I don't know why.

Charging a lot compared to other breweries. While the few pours I've tried were good, it's a bit expensive. Service is good, but the brand/atmosphere is heavily focused on Christianity...

This place is great. Has an awesome chill vibe and the beer is great! The Victoria IPA is probably the best beer I've had in Nashville in the 3 years I've lived here. Great location too. Definitely worth a visit!

Another of my favorite breweries in Nashville. Went by yesterday to pick up my barrel aged beer bottles and ran into Krazy Kyle of the predators and stayed until 7 PM. Met some new friends from Columbus, Ohio as well. The place is smaller than some micros in the area, but has enough varieties in seating to feel like a brewery or a coffee shop (which it also is). Love the staff. Very knowledgeable about the product and friendly. When I was there they have a few barrel aged darks on tap, one in a rum barrel and two in different versions of WIllet barrels. But, this is not surprising, as Living Waters makes some of the best darks in town. Of the breweries that have opened in the past few years, this is one of the ones that started hitting home runs out of the gate.

Came in for a pint, tried the Mina sour - which was great. Then I was tempted to get a small pour of the OB, which is a milk stout with vanilla and maple... which was smooth and perfect. This is on my list to come back to next time I'm in East Nashville.

Bad service, cool location. Invest your hard earned money elsewhere. Tons of cool coffee shops in the city with better service.

Terrible service! Two people were working and we had waited over 30 minutes for two basic lattes. We just ended up leaving and getting our money back. There was no apology or sense of urgency, so we'll take our business to ani of the hundreds of local coffee shops in the area.

If I lived near this brewery I would probably be sitting in there with my laptop daily! Such a comfortable vibe because it's a coffee shop as well and they open at 8am. While I was visiting, there were many people there enjoying either a beer or craft coffee on their computers. It was a really nice day out so the garage door was up and the sun was shining in which added even more to the ambiance. There was a pretty good amount of seating and it was almost all taken up on the Monday afternoon I stopped by (which says a lot about it!). Beer list was solid and they have something for everybody. I grabbed a taster of an IPA as well as a coffee stout. Both were fantastic and really fresh. Side note: I was in love with their bathroom decor!!!! Pink walls, black toilets (you have to see it to understand why it just goes so well!) and the best mirror lighting I think I've ever seen in a bar. Impressive!!! I will absolutely be stopping back here next time I'm in Nashville.

Amazing drip coffee selections and tea. Best stouts in TN and their beer, in general, is top notch and consistent as well as flavorful. Worth your time to visit, drink, and have a good time at. Great environment for working remotely (if you don't need to be on the phone) and amazing staff.

I came here for an event for the band Delta Rae and will definitely be coming back for the stellar beer and cool vibes. Situated right next to Grimey's, Living Waters is both coffee shop and brewery. They have spacious outdoor seating (pup friendly outside!), a very cool coffee-shop vibe indoors, and small bites (like Crieve Hall bagels). For the event, I mostly stayed in their gorgeous outdoor space, which was well-situated to handle vendor stands, food from the Salty Cubana, and a sizable crowd. It was quite the wait/line to get beers during the event (a natural byproduct of having 2 people working with like 40 people in line for beer), but I was pleasantly surprised by how shockingly amazing their beer is. I am a bit of a beer snob and found myself wanting to buy cans of their beer afterwards, which is pretty rare for me. The three I tried were the Milaaa (New England style IPA, refreshing, a bit fruity), their milkshake IPA (Alsea, truly one of the best of this style I've ever had), and their coffee milk stout (Mille, imperial milk stout, the standout of an already amazing set of beers). It was a huge plus that they have a pretty spacious parking lot. I definitely want to come here again on a more low-key day just to enjoy beers with friends.

Enter in Tyra Banks yelling "We we're all rooting for you!" Because someone needs to give Living Waters a wake up call. This place is huge and beautiful. Truly. I'd move in here. You almost could. Part living room set up - part beautiful bar - part stylish restaurant. But don't be fooled because there's not much else. Their coffee is wildly over priced. See the picture of my $4 cold brew. They had delicious sounding pastry items on their menu. But they did not exist. Instead there was one lone donut. Which is suspect is a left over from yesterday. They offer $5 pour overs, $6 lattes (mocha and vanilla), and very expensive cold brew. That's it. There's nothing setting them apart from a town that's working so hard to always bring the best coffee to us. Maybe the beer scene is better? Now I'm stuck here. Drinking a tiny cold brew. Trying to write a paper with my stomach growling.

Living Waters has beers, coffee, and food, so it's a little different from Nashville's other breweries that I've been to! I was exploring East Nashville when a friend came to visit this past weekend, and someone of us wanted beer and some of us wanted coffee, so Living Waters was a great stop. They played good music, had parking, and we all enjoyed our beers, cascara tea, and/or pour overs. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you're in the area.

What a beautiful spot. This place will be awesome when the weather is great especially. They have a huge garage door that opens into the venue, they brew their own beer and they also brew espresso drinks as well. There's plenty of seating so it'll be a great place to get some work done when it's quiet but I can also see this place bustling during the afternoons and evenings for people enjoying their brewery varieties. Also they do live music as well (big surprise). But what's fun is they are right next door to Grimey's so you can see flow overs from each other. Grab some vinyl, watch a quick local live music show, grab some coffee, get a pint, it's a win-win. I hope more places like this become more plentiful in the area. This is a fun place.

First off, I would like to say I love the aesthetics of this place. It's great to hangout and get some work done while having a beer or a coffee. I live super close so I really want to like this place, but the pricing of their beer pours is outrageous. I am a craft beer guy and am happy to pay for high quality beer, but for 80% of their beers to only be served in 10oz pours is a way to turn business away. I would much rather go to Monday Night and have a ton of 16oz options for 7 dollars. Owners, please reassess your pricing and pour sizes.

A best kept secret of coffee shops! Really unique in the way they craft their specialty drinks. Incredible vibe as well. Personal notes: Flew the Coop: 8/10 - would've gotten a 9 or 10 if the drink wasn't so small for how much is being paid.

I'm feelin it... great atmosphere; well lit, good music, big open space, and friendly staff. I sat and did some work for a while and was very comfortable. Had a delicious cappuccino... and will definitely be back to try the beer and maybe a snack. It's not in the greatest location, geographically speaking, being on trinity isn't helping them out. Still worth the drive.

We just discovered this brewery this past weekend and we'll definitely be back. We got a flight of 2 IPAs and 2 stouts and they were all fantastic and easily ones we'd want to drink again (we got one in a crowler to make sure we had it again haha). The cold brew coffee was also great and it's pretty impressive that they're good at brewing beer and coffee. The location is great too as it's very easy to find in East Nashville with plenty of parking. The vibe inside is pure coffeeshop and we may come here just to relax with a good book sometime (the chairs are super comfortable too). We'll definitely be back!

Incredible menu, fantastic touch to the espresso options, exquisite service in an atmosphere mixing remodeled basement and urban flair - flavors and textures in the drinks and my eggplant caponate pushes this place to a sweet level but spending right under $20 for both and not even close to fixing midgrade hunger and caffeine needs - difficult to justify. Prices and portion sizes well out of wack but hey guess that's Nashville!

Very cool space but the service was lacking. I'm trying to be gracious in my review because I know not everything will go smoothly during COVID but it was disappointing as a first time guest. We were kindly asked to take a seat at a table and order with a QR code - great! I love the COVID precautions! BUT... we ordered beers and it took 25+ minutes for them to be brought to our table. It wasn't very busy in the first place, but also, we didn't order any fancy espresso drinks or anything that takes a while to make - just beers. We weren't in a hurry or anything, but the reason it really bothered me is that several people who came in after us ordered at the counter (and were not asked to be seated and order using the QR code) and the barista made all of their fancy espresso drinks and served them before bringing us our drinks. It just seemed off that the easiest order of all to fulfill was put off when we followed the COVID rules and did things as they asked. I will say that the barista was busy doing something the whole time though, never just sitting around, so maybe the real problem is not enough staff?

Love the beer and the atmosphere. Chill and quiet enough to study in here during the day. Free WiFi. The beertender is super cool too! He helped me pick out a sour. Both options were amazing! I'll be back for more chill vibes and good beer!
