11 Great Restaurants & Bars Near The Fox Theatre

"With Livingston solely focused on breakfast until further notice, fans of The Georgian Terrace restaurant’s American fare or its proximity to the Fox must settle for this adjacent hotel bar come dinnertime. Though the modest seating setup won’t wow like the dining room’s bright, column-filled space did, thankfully, its menu showcases some of Livingston’s culinary flair. Juicy burgers and light bites are the headliners now. When the sprawling, wrap-around patio is open, it's the perfect place to sit with a drink and watch the glam (and not-so-glam) entrances to the Fox. But the fact you can still wait until the last second to finish your meal because you’re right across the street from the venue is the best perk." - nina reeder, juli horsford, demarco williams, jacinta howard

We recently celebrated our daughter’s high school graduation at Livingston Restaurant—our go-to spot before Sunday matinees at the Fox Theatre. Located in the elegant Georgian Terrace Hotel at the corner of Peachtree and Ponce de Leon, Livingston delivered an unforgettable experience. Brunch was absolutely delicious, with every dish—from the shrimp and grits to the chicken and waffles, avocado toast, French toast, and more—prepared to perfection. The flavors were rich, satisfying, and memorable. A special shoutout to LaMonte, our bartender, for the amazing drinks, and to our exceptional waiter Hassan, who even doubled as our photographer, helping us capture candid moments of the day. Thank you to the entire staff for going above and beyond to make our celebration truly special. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to mark such an important milestone. Thank you, Livingston, for a wonderful and heartfelt exerience.

3.5 stars - We came here for Mother’s Day brunch and we had people flying in so we had to change our reservation from 2pm to 4pm which I did on open table. My mom lives in Atlanta and said they don’t serve food at 4 PM so how could you possibly change the reservation. I called the restaurant multiple times and could not get through. Finally, I called the hotel and the person who answered the phone couldn’t give me any information except that the restaurant was closed at 4 PM and I said why would OpenTable allow me to change the reservation to 4 PM if they’re closed… And so finally I got put through to the head of food and beverage and she was very nice and told me that because it was Mother’s Day they would be serving at 4 PM. But I had to call several times because the restaurant wasn’t answering🙄 My mom loves the room so that’s why I booked….but because we were 5 people we had a booth and it was really low and the table high 🤷‍♀️The food was very good but the service was exceptional. Our server Tamil was amazing and perfect 💗💗💗 she made the experience 💗

We had a dinner reservation for 4 at 6 pm on Saturday, 8/3/24. We were seated right away. Apparently the complimentary bread service has to be requested. We were dressed up because we were going to a play at the Fox. It was nice inside. I split an appetizer and 2 entrées with my friend. We also got a side for the table. Here’s what I had: - Peach, Burrata, & Prosciutto ($16): It was decent. I’ve had better. - Lemon Asparagus Risotto ($30): Very small portion for the price. It was okay. - Seabass ($48): This was the star of the show. The seabass was absolutely delicious. I also enjoyed the coconut forbidden rice, shitakes, and sugar snap peas that it came with. - Brussels Sprouts ($12): Super good!! Perfectly crispy and seasoned. Others in my party got the She Crab Soup ($12)—which came in the tiniest cup and I was told it was way too salty, Wedge Salad ($12)—I was told it was fine, Ahi Tuna Poke ($16)—fine, but needed more sauce. I got the Mary Pickford ($12) for my drink and it was too strong for my taste. Highly recommend the seabass and Brussels sprouts! Everything else was just meh.

good service and good brunch in the bar area same price/menu as the sit down restaurant with limited staff. Even if the restaurant is empty Make reservations if you want to have a sit down meal.

Food was just OK for me. Most people in our group liked it, but I'm more selective mainly because I cook. I didn't care for the Caesar Salad or Creme Brulee. The Caesar was more like a wedge salad and i don't like them. The Creme Brulee was watery and wasn't sweet enough for my liking. The Butternut Ravioli wasn't very favorable. However, service and ambiance were great!

We stayed at The Georgian Terrace this weekend for a Braves game, and the experience was excellent all-around. The hotel staff was great, very friendly and attentive, and Livingston Restaurant was outstanding. We arrived for our reservations early and hesitated on eating here, as the menu didn't look very expansive and there was virtually nobody here, but we were incredibly glad we stayed. That the restaurant was nearly empty at 6:30 was surprising, yet after eating here, we were even more surprised it wasn't as busy. Ehren, our server, was great--very attentive (obviously, with only one other table), friendly, and helpful with his suggestions. The wine--a Malbec--was one of the best I've ever tasted (and I love Malbecs) the wedge salads were great, and my steak was incredible--very flavorful! My wife got the braised short ribs and she didn't even need a knife, the meat was so tender. I know as I kept taking it from her plate...she should have kept her knife...the desserts--a vanilla crème brûlée and fudge chocolate cake--were equally outstanding, and overall, Livingston's was better than we had even hoped for. Great food, great service, good ambiance--we would definitely eat here again!

Breakfast was delicious with fluffy eggs and crispy bacon strips. The cinnamon roll was a bit dry but flavorful.

Sat for twenty minutes this past Sunday brunch before anyone came over to greet us. Plenty of empty tables everywhere. Ordered a water and bloody Mary. Went ahead and ordered food at the same time. Fifteen minutes later, food and water arrived. No bloody Mary. Reminded my server I had ordered one. The cheeseburger I ordered was totally rare and had the saddest looking tomatoes and lettuce ever. No additional burger toppings like onions or pickles. No condiments like mayo or ketchup either. Fried were lukewarm. Ate the burger regardless because I didn't want to wait around for the server to come back. Finished the meal and bloody Mary arrived when I asked for my check. The server didn't ask how to divide up the ticket, so my party just split it all 3 ways so we could hurry up and leave. So very disappointed and won't return again.

Yelp
Well, let's address the elephant in the room right away. I've seen a lot of reviews on here talking about price. This is an upscale restaurant in Midtown Atlanta. It is literally across the street from the Fox theater. Simply stated, do not not come here for an inexpensive meal. It's not fast food or takeout. It's a very fine dining experience and the waitstaff is accommodating and attentive to needs. At a recent stay at the adjacent hotel in Atlanta, I enjoyed breakfast there three mornings. I find when I start my day with great breakfast. the rest of the day generally goes better. Obviously, since I went three times it was really good. The coffee was amazing and the portions were very generous and freshly prepared on the spot. If I might say, breakfast is probably one of the better times to give this place a try. The times that I went, they were not busy at all so they were not rushing about and were able to take care of the clients who were there. Expensive? Yes, but the quality was there so in my case they delivered what I was paying for.

Yelp
This one was hard to rate because I want to score it higher for the ambiance but I'm scoring it this way for the overall experience. Some friends and I visited the Livingston Bar + Restaurant on Halloween night. We purchased the ticket for dinner and the "spooky" tour of the Georgian Terrace hotel. The décor and the ambiance of the hotel is beautiful. It's classic and grand and the vibe spills over to the restaurant. That may be where it ended. There was a pre-fixed menu with cute Halloween-themed names. I started with the Cremated Caesar Salad. I was excited to see a Caesar salad on the menu that had real anchovies. Unfortunately, the salad was SWIMMING in dressing. Literally, there was a pool of dressing on the plate and it made a lot of the salad hard to eat. The crunchy croutons helped to offset the soggy lettuce a little but not much. My next course was the Miso Mustard Salmon. The flavor and portion was pretty good but the dish was barely warm. This was a common issue as the 3 friends I dined with also mentioned their food was cold or barely warm. It was a little chilly in the restaurant so I'm guessing the food sat out too long before being brought to us. The dessert option was a milk citrus mousse with a key lime sponge and short bread cookie eyeball. It's chocolate forward but as someone that doesn't like a lot of chocolate, it wasn't bad. I think the other elements and the whipped cream helped to tone down the chocolate. Unfortunately, we never got our tour of the hotel. The waiter said someone was supposed to give us the tour before dinner but no one ever came over to tell us this. The $65 ticket was more than we would've paid for just that dinner considering the issues. I may try the restaurant again on a normal night.

Yelp
I visited Livingston Restaurant & Bar before my show at the Fox theater! It is attached to a hotel so the parking is only what the hotel offers. There is very limited street parking, especially on a weekend so I would recommend you either uber or walk if you're walking distance. Overall my experience the service was great! We had LaMonte as our waiter and he was so welcoming when we arrived. The atmosphere of the restaurant is elegant and beautiful. My favorite meal was the short beef rib. The sauce, roasted carrots, mashed potatoes and grilled onions really brought the whole dish together! the She Crab Soup was my least favorite. It tasted like they dumped a large amount of salt in the soup. It took away from the flavor of the overall crab and other ingredients. I would not recommend getting that along with trout. The trout ironically didn't have enough seasoning in it. It tasted slightly flavorless. For these three dishes we paid a total of $91 (for two people before tip) and we did not order any drinks, just water! Overall, for the price, I would not recommend splurging! If I go back, I would go just for a cocktail to enjoy the ambience and service before a show at the Fox! It was hard deciding between two or three stars because again, the beef short rib was tasty and their service was great! However, because of the amount of money spent on soup and two dishes, I would have to settle for 2 stars!

Yelp
Brunch here on a slow Sunday. Only a few tables occupied when we arrived. Ordered a couple of pitchers of LIV 75, avocado toast, fried green tomatoes, the brisket burger, and crab cake Benedict. Service at the start was good and got slower. The server in a way was kinda rushing us on the first pitcher and the second pitcher. Food overall tasted good, but didn't appreciate being lied to. Clearly on the menu, 20% gratuity is included but he told us tips ONLY in cash.

Maurita F.

Yelp
Over priced food. Food came out warm not hot. We were sat near the bar and there was a pungent smell coming from the bar area.

Yelp
The steak was so flavorful and cooked to perfection. The service was very lovely the waitress was very attentive and the manager even came to check on me as well as the chef. It was a great experience

Ronda W.

Yelp
Food was delicious. We were shocked when they added gratuity to our dinner ticket as we were a party of two. After dinner we moved to the bar to watch football. the two bartenders did not appear happy to be there. again, they added 18% gratuity to our bar tab. most patrons did not notice the addition and double tipped. All service was slow, perhaps because they were not working for tips.

Yelp
We came here before seeing a play at the Fox and we were charged $60 for event parking at the valet. The service for anything took awhile, especially the drinks. The food was alright but nothing grand and we got cold cornbread. The filet was way overly salted as well. The drinks were completely liquor.

Shiane D.

Yelp
Came visiting from Miami and this place had a beautiful choice of items and the food tastes even better! Highly suggest getting the grilled octopus! And props to the bartender Brittany for taking care of us.

Yelp
This was an excellent experience from beginning to end. I ate a full dinner at the bar on a Friday. Located in The Georgian Terrace Hotel, the ambience is defined by a building that falls under the category of "they just don't make them like this anymore." High ceilings, a spacious dining room, and colonial architecture (not 100% sure but looks like colonial...) with high-top tables in the bar area are an immediate draw. The restaurant had come out with a new menu that weekend and everyone was happy to explain what was listed. I tried the She Crab soup, iceberg wedge salad, and finished with an excellent Bouillabaisse. The first and third dish were actually brought out by the chef (Tyree) and drinks and conversation expertly provided by Lamonte, who recognized me from a visit in 2023 (!). Thumbs up overall here. As a new resident of the state I look forward to exploring many more of Atlanta's offerings but the Livingston will be a mainstay. I'll definitely be back later in the year. Fantastic!

Mariana S.

Yelp
The service was great and the food was incredible! Surprised by the octopus perfectly cooked and the steak although a bit salty it was perfectly cooked as well and flavored deliciously!! I cant wait to go back! Ehren was amazing and so was john!

Yelp
It's kinda expensive, drip coffee $6, breakfast about $18-20. The interior is rich and nice, old fashioned, old money. Great atmosphere, however, the service is so-so.

Yelp
Top to bottom, our experience here was pretty awful. As we parked in self parking, we were given the option of "are you going to an event at the Fox for $50 parking or are you a hotel guest," so we selected the hotel guest option. There were no signs posted telling us what the hourly parking rates were. Also, because there was an event at the Fox today, the typical 3 hour validation you usually get when dining at the Livingston isn't available. I went to the front desk of the hotel to ask the woman behind the counter how much hourly parking was. She said she didn't know and I should ask the valet (how's that for customer service?). At this point, another woman came over who also didn't know the answer but went to find out. I was told the first hour is $10, 2nd hour total is $15, and $20 for all day, yet when we exited the deck, we were charged $50 for event parking, even though we had selected hotel guest parking. Now for the restaurant. We had reservations and approached the host stand. After a couple minutes, a server came over and seated us. There were 3 servers taking care of the entire restaurant with a manager or food runner running food. These servers were responsible for setting tables, busing tables and seating people, as there was no host - but there's an automatic 20% gratuity, which almost always means service is terrible, and this was no exception. After sitting for a few minutes, our server came over and just asked if he could take our order. Didn't introduce himself, so I'm not able to leave a name in this review. My husband ordered the burger medium, and it came out closer to rare. We had to ask for mayo/mustard as there was none on the burger. There also isn't cheese or onion on it, and a big part of the lettuce was brown. Nobody ever stopped by the table to check on us once our food was dropped. We had to wait for our check for quite some time, as our server hadn't returned to even refill our waters. Clearly I'm not the first one to leave a negative review about this place, but with the number of negative reviews, it's also obvious management simply doesn't care to do better, or they would. I wish had read reviews before dining here, but this will be a one and done experience for me here.

Yelp
Had a 5pm reservation here, as we were going across the street to see Tina Fey and Amy Pohler on Saturday night. Seemed convenient, food looked decent, and as it is so close to the Fox, you would assume enough staff, etc. in preparation for any event at the Fox, but more importantly, a knowledge that you will probably be busy and need to hustle. We are seated and no one acknowledges us for about 15 minutes. Finally, a nice guy named Ehren comes over and takes our order for 2 glasses of wine and some appetizers. Off he goes to put in the order. 10 minutes later, we are waiting for drinks to arrive, have not been poured any water, and are hoping the food order has been placed. A new server, Janae, comes over and asks if we have been helped and we tell her someone took our order and she says "oh, because you are my table". UMMMM - THEN WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! I have seen you walking around serving and helping other tables and completely ignoring us and (sidebar) if we waited for you, which we would have not done as I would have marched up to the hostess stand, you didn't acknowledge us for TWENTY FIVE MINUTES. She apparently takes our wine from Ehren and sets it down, to which I ask if I have the Pinot (which they may have been out of) or the Cab and off she goes to find out and then THAT takes another 5 minutes. Food was ok - the octopus was good and we had charcuterie and a wedge salad, which is pretty hard to screw up. We then ask for our checks and this girl disappears AGAIN. The service was truly terrible. I rarely leave 10% but I didn't feel bad AT ALL leaving that in this situation. I would not return here and sadly, just because it is in the Georgian Terrace doesn't make it good.

Yelp
We planned a lovely evening in Atlanta that included dining at The Livingston before we attended a musical at the Fox. I tried making a reservation online but it was saying there was availability. I called and spoke with Kam and he got us in for 5:30 which was perfect. The restaurant is lovely and the staff are old school attentive. The service was top notch. For example when you need a steak knife they bring them out in a special tray instead of just carrying them out individually. It's the little things. Bread assortment was brought out after ordering and each bread was delicious and fresh. We each ordered a salad. The wedge and the caesar were amazing. Freshly prepared and the flavors were so good. Pickled onions on my wedge by the way. Our entrees were large portions and plated perfectly. Beef short ribs was super tender and my husband commented several times about how good his filet was. Tamill was our waitress and she did a wonderful job taking care if us even though they were slammed. Overall a perfect experience and helped add to the special evening for us. The prices were really not bad for the dining experience and the quality of the food. We did spend a lot but it was about making the night special and leaving a nice tip. The salads were 10 and 12 dollars. A nasty salad at Zaxby's cost that much. We had salads, entrees, drinks, desserts and coffee and it was $200 with tip. Salads are large and you could share.

Yelp
It's been a long time since a restaurant surprised me.... But here we are, " The Livingston Restaurant and Bar" I was in town with a friend to see a play, therefore it's easy enough to grab a bite across the street from the theater. From the moment we arrived, we were met with hesitance. Our waiter, who was friendly enough, took our drink orders after being told that we had to leave promptly in 1 hour due to the show start time. Our drinks, 20 minutes our appetizers 45 minutes. It seemed very odd as other patrons received their drinks and meals long after we arrived. We noticed the the GM "Brook Windley" visited every table but ours. Our appetizers were disappointing and we were never asked if we liked them. It was clear, we were not welcomed at this restaurant. I asked other food critics in Atlanta if they were treated the same, the responses were mixed. Unfortunately, their answers varied by race. Having had experienced such a disappointment, I've contacted the restaurant as well as the Georgian Terrace Management as this is clearly an issue. I write about food and restaurants for a living, I was hoping to write a great review about this one.

Will J.

Yelp
The food overall was not bad. However, the experience was poor at best. Our server was nice, but it took forever to get our food. After we had our meal we ordered dessert and they were out of some items which I don't quite get we're in there at 7:00 on a Saturday, barely anyone was there before us. So we ordered dessert and sat and waited we were told that they were on the way and they brought us the check because we had plans after. 30 minutes later our server comes up with bad news, they're actually out of half the desserts that we ordered and already paid for. After we got the check squared and the desserts refunded we left to our later plans. We then checked the receipt where it turns out that they had already charged us an %18 gratuity that they neglected to tell us about. I get auto gratuity for bigger parties, but we're a party of 4. So they ended up double dipping gratuity for mediocre at best service. Will not be back this place is a sham. Update: They also double charged us for the meal when taking off the dessert. They suck.

Terry W.

Yelp
We had a celebration dinner at the gorgeous and historic Georgian Terrace Hotel and it couldn't be better! The ambiance was truly breathtaking! The food was outstanding and served to perfection by the "employee of the month"! Our party of four enjoyed the salad wedges with a generous slab of blue cheese and bacon bits and the she crab soup which were all delicious to start! We followed this with the fresh and deliciously created and presented entrees of trout, chicken, melt-in-your-mouth filet mignon and salmon. Impeccable service continued throughout our meal. It felt as if we were royalty and whenever we are in Atlanta again, this will be our place of choice - a dinner "to live for"!

Yelp
The short ribs were spectacular and the sea bass was perfectly cooked. Ehren our waiter could not have been more attentive and timely. The dining area is breath taking with tall ceilings and pillars representing the grand architecture of the Hotel Georgian Terrace.

Yelp
Not to sound cliche, but if I could put 0 stars I would. I'm definitely not the type of person to write a review, but I'm quite upset with my experience at the Livingston Restaurant yesterday. My boyfriend and I went here for our junior prom last year and had a pretty nice time with good food. We had a short wait for service and our meal because it was busy but overall the service was adequate. We were satisfied with our experience and decided to go again for our senior prom this year. When we had arrived, we were sat down and given time to look at the menu and about 10 minutes later we got our drinks. We had finally gotten to place our order and thought it wouldn't be long before we got our food. We were most certainly wrong. It took 30 minutes to receive a Caesar Salad as my starter which is ridiculous. The salad wasn't anything to write home about and as someone who works in the food industry, Ive never taken half an hour to deliver a piece of lettuce on a plate to a customer. About 15 minutes later, our server came back over to tell us the Filet Mignon with Crushed Yukons and Asparagus we had both ordered was out of stock. At this point we were disappointed that it took an hour to be told they didn't have our food, upset with waiting, and hungry. Our server said the dessert would be on the house because of the wait but we would have dessert at prom and after waiting for so long we weren't really in the mood for it. We both decided on ordering the Salmon with the Sticky Rice as our disappointing backup. The manager came over shortly after to tell us that they were behind because of a big party in the back. I have no reason to debate but I do have suspicions because it was quiet, the servers were all piled in the corner talking, and the cooks were moving slow. Another table had come in, juniors that I knew who were going to prom, and they received their starter and one of them received their chicken before we had gotten our meal. Our server stopped by a couple times to tell us our food would be coming out shortly but it was another 30 minutes before we would receive our food. I have two huge problems with the Salmon. Unless the sticky rice came mashed, I believe they laid the salmon over the crushed yukons that would've come with our filet mignon. I'm not sure if it's just me but mashed potatoes and salmon is a strange mixture. My other problem was how it was cooked. I had taken a bite of the center and spit it out. My boyfriend asked what was wrong and when I showed him we both noticed that our food was undercooked and the center was still pink. At this point both of our appetites had been lost and we wanted to leave. The check was cancelled and we left extremely unsatisfied. When I saw my friend later, she was also upset because her food had taken way too long as well. I have been looking forward to this meal since we had started planning our prom and I am very upset that my last prom dinner went so poorly. At a place that's so expensive and well known, I had expected our experience to be in order. I had not thought I would have to wait until after the dance to eat something at home.

Yelp
I have been wanting to eat at Livingston for quite some time before a show at the Fox, but could never get a reservation. Snagged a reservation finally and was underwhelmed with the food. We got the fried calamari as an appetizer and it was probably the best part of the meal. My husband got the sea scallops and I got the tuna crudo as my meal. The diver scallops were ok, but not seasoned well and the tuna crudo was absolutely tasteless. I asked for soy sauce to dip just to add a little flavor. It was not the worst meal I have had, but certainly not the best. I tried it, but will probably not go back.

Yelp
Food was good. Ambiance is really nice. Great location. Wait staff is overworked and spread thin. When I said something to the lady who seemed to be in charge, I got a dismissive 'I don't care' attitude. Excuse after excuse. I eat in a lot of nice places. Her attitude was exceptionally poor. The restaurant has a ton of potential. Really unfortunate experience.

Yelp
Enjoyed my stop for dinner one night on a weekday. I made a reservation but there weren't many people. For a hotel restaurant I was surprised how affordable it was. Most entrees were $18-25, and wine started at $8. I believe they also have happy hour. I ordered the bread plate while I waited for my party. I highly recommend it! Warm, buttery, and delicious. I also enjoyed the fried chicken. I was skeptical, but the servers assured me it was good and it was. The Brussels were flavorful as well. Great attentive service! The bar space is fairly large and also available for events. May hang out there next time.

Yelp
5 Star Service!! 5 Star Dining Experience. Make sure you make reservations to see this hidden beauty in The Georgian Terrace Hotel. * Starters: The Smoked Salmon Chips are really really good. It comes with 4 seasoned chips topped with a layer of dill cream cheese, thick slices of smoked salmon, chopped red onions & capers. The chips are seasoned really well and delicious!! The salmon and the cream cheese mixed really well. Must try these!! * Main Course: Southern Fried Chicken Breast ($22) with three cheese rice & broccoli casserole, jalapeno-turkey bacon cornbread, & potlikker. The fried chicken breast was lightly seasoned, perfectly fried with a good crispy, crunchy skin, and the meat was so tender & juicy. The broccoli casserole was pretty good...needed a tad of salt. The thick slice of jalapeno-turkey bacon cornbread was awesome!!! * Dessert: The Fuji Apple Praline Pecan Pie was amazing!!! I can't even describe it...just try it!! Wonderful overall experience. Our server was very friendly, professional & attentive!!

Yelp
This review is for the Livingston Bar only. After eating dinner earlier, it was time for a little dessert before the show started at Fox Theater. This bar is at the Georgian Terrace, right across the street from the Fox, and there was room at the bar to eat a little something while killing time. Didn't have to wait at all for a seat - got lucky! The bartender was very welcoming and asked what we wanted. I was a little tired already, and didn't want to accidentally fall asleep if the show was bad, so I asked for a glass of water and ordered the dessert - Pina colada raspberry swirl cheesecake. Got so engrossed in the presentation when the dessert was brought to me that I didn't notice that the server pulled a switcheroo on me. After taking pictures of this beautiful looking sweet, I didn't realize until after I ate half of the strawberry mousse torte that this wasn't what I had actually ordered. Lol! Yes the thought of telling the server that she brought the wrong dessert crossed my mind, but I didn't say anything. Hehe. I thought the torte was delicious anyway, so light, smooth and airy, with just enough strawberry sweetness without being overwhelming. The berries added fresh textures, and the whipped vanilla bean chantilly cream's slight flavor added another level of sweetness. We did't feel rushed by the bartender or servers, and stayed about 30 minutes until we had to leave to get to the show. The bar area is very elegant looking, and there were many well dressed people in the area. There are tables and chairs scattered around away from the bar counter for those who don't want to sit at the bar. The torte was on the expensive side, but it looked great and tasted delicious! I will most likely return the next time I have tickets to a show at The Fox Theater.

Yelp
Top notch service and the food was amazing. Ask for Ehren. You won't be disappointed. It is definitely worth the trip

Yelp
The cuisine was exquisite and well thought out . We started with burrata and beet salad and the she crab soup with a sherry foam . Poached Lobster with truffle risotto was as good as I've ever had . The crusted lamb with farro and sumac brilliant! Presentation was Michelin quality , the service was good . The Georgian Terrace is charming and elegant 111 year old gem in midtown I recommend Chef Meese's delightful menu ! 4.5 stars .

Yelp
The food is excellent and the atmosphere is beautifu! The service was not good. Toast was brought out long before our water glasses were even filled. The manager was hustling and apologetic but the waiter was rarely seen and not friendly. Gratuity was already added to our bill so perhaps this is why service is lacking.

Yelp
Ate there last night before church. If you come in through the hotel entrance, there is a great pic looking up at the round supports which go all the way to the sky. The dining room was rather elegant and our table of four got seated right away. The waiter was kind enough to ask if we were headed to a show or church so he assured us we would be there on time - nice touch. Two of our drinks were served right away, but there was some confusion on the other two and they wound up serving three drinks later on - The third was on the house because they were so confused. The food was a mixed bag. Two of us ordered the muscles for an appetizer and they were fantastic. The trout and the vegetarian meal were much less than noteworthy. other items ordered were the pork wings which are too sweet for our taste and the soup of the day wasn't very flavorful. We spent approx $180 including tip for the four of us. To sum it up - The Decor was very nice and the location was great, but the food was rather underwhelming. Probably a great place to grab just a drink!

Yelp
My friend and I arrived at the Livingston two hours prior to the show we were going to see at the Fox. We were seated promptly, but it took about 10 minutes for a server to actually come to the table. We ordered two drinks and our appetizers. We expected the server to come back and fill our water glasses, as we noticed all the other tables had water, and some tables had bread service. We were finally able to locate and stop our server and ask for water and bread. It took another 10 to 15 minutes to actually receive water. Our appetizers arrived, but no cocktails yet. We finished our entire appetizer before we even received our cocktails. It took approximately a half hour to receive our cocktails, and when they did come to the table, the server informed us that the bartender must have "lost" the bar ticket. She did not apologize to us, waiting around for water and for our cocktails,. She just decided to blame it on someone else even though we had mentioned we hadn't received our drinks yet after sitting there for 15 minutes. Sequoia, our server, did not have a very good attitude during our entire dining experience. She never asked how the food was or if we wanted anything else. All the other wait staff were cheery and punctual with their tables. When we finally did receive the check, she only brought the charged copy to sign, not the itemized bill. We asked for the itemized bill, which seemed to be a huge hassle for Sequoia. When we did receive the bill, we noted that there was an automatic gratuity of 20% already added to our total for 2 people. Sequoia did not deserve 20%. None of our late drinks were comped and we didn't receive any other compensation for such terrible service. I believe Sequoia does not bring the itemized bill because she doesn't want her patrons to know that there was already a tip added to the total. Some patron might just sign and add another tip and leave, not realizing that the tip had already been added to the total. If I ever go there again, I will make certain that I sit in another server's section. All in all the food was good, but the service was beyond terrible.

Yelp
Everything we hoped for. We planned a lovely evening in Atlanta that included dining at The Livingston before our show at the Fox. I tried making reservations online but it was saying no availability so i called. Kam got us a spot right at 5:30. The restaurant is lovely and the wait staff is old school attentive. The service was top notch. For example when they bring out steak knives they are on a special tray as opposed to just holding it in their hand. An assortment of breads and fresh butter pats were placed on our table after ordering. I had the wedge salad to start and my husband had the caesar. Both salads were fresh and delicious. I chose the beef short ribs with mashed fingerlings and root vegetables. Amazing! My husband had the filet with asparagus and yukons. Amazing as well. Everything was plated well and cooked to perfection. The prices did not seem high at all for the amount of food and quality. Our waitress Tamill was very attentive even though they were extremely busy. She was so sweet and made our meal even more enjoyable. It was a great experience and we will be doing this again next December.

Yelp
Do not go to this restaurant. We went there for Mother's Day brunch since this is the only one I was able to find a week before mothers day but now I know why! The food selection was terrible. The food quality was terrible. There were very very short staff and nobody came to take beverage order or nothing! We paid $760 for six of us. Even if it was half price, I would NEVER go back.

Yelp
$36 per person for a breakfast buffet that was mediocre at best. Then they charged us 20% gratuity on a party of 2 for breakfast. We didn't realize it until later so we tipped another 20%. We spent $112 for two cups of coffee and two small plates of food. All of which we served ourselves, except the coffee. I have never felt so ripped off at a restaurant.

Yelp
Conveniently located across from the Fox Theater, this location served as a perfect place to relax before the show. We got there around 4:30 and were one of about 5-6 people in the bar. They offer an abbreviated dining menu (we had the roast beef on hoagie bun with horseradish sauce and a generous side of fries , which was really good and a huge portion). We enjoyed a few drinks at the bar as folks started to fill up the tables closer to showtime. They will not allow you to order food unless you are seated somewhere, since they have to have a place to put the plate. So if you intend to eat, definitely get there a little early. Overall, would recommend and will consider it next visit to the area. The bartenders were professional and the interior had an upscale ambiance.

Yelp
Came here prior to a show at Fox. We had reservations and were seated right away. The water arrived shortly and so did Eduardo, our waiter. For my drink I tried The livingston and chambord manhattan, both very good. My one complaint is their cherries. I don't want a shirley temple cherry in my manhattan! Can we grow up and get some real dark cherries up in this place? Borrow it from Proof and provision if you have to! App: chicken liver dumplings with crispy kale. Dumplings were ok, but they managed to somehow remove all of the liver taste. I would have never guessed that is what I was eating if I didn't order it. These were served a top of deep fried kale all basted in dough. This was kind of disappointing. I thought crispy kale meant kale chips, not battered deep fried kale. Entree: duck and bock choy. Duck was fantastic, greens were very stringy and not chewable on the other hand. I also got a bite of the scallop dish. Scallops were good and so were brussel sprouts but the dish looked like a soup rather than entree. Overall: patio, decent service, full bar, great atmosphere, next to Fox. I'd come back but only if I'm going to the Fox

Yelp
Dined at Livingston with my daughter before attending a show at the Fox Theatre. My reservation was for 6:45 pm, and the show was at 8 pm. We were promptly greeted, and our server asked if we were seeing a show that evening. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu items - she answered all of my questions and made suggestions. She was incredibly attentive and gave just as much attention to my 5-year-old as she gave me. Asking how the food was, asking if she wanted a drink, etc. The space/architecture is absolutely beautiful. A+ for ambiance. They have a kids menu, which was nice. I ordered the delmonico ribeye steak cooked med-rare. It was served with parmesan truffle potato wedges, and grilled asparagus. The steak was seasoned well. I think the potato wedges were too big. We had the peppermint and dark chocolate chip gelato for dessert - so good. It was a good overall experience, and our server made sure we were out and on time for our show.

Yelp
Had dinner before show at Fox. Service was very good but was terrible. Had to order from Preset menu, which wasn't on website and selections didn't fit palate and poorly prepared had to send it back. Cocktail not made to order

Yelp
This was my first time here. I had been wanting to try this place for a while but just didn't prioritize Livingston over the many other finds in Atlanta. So, on our way to the see The Lion King at the Fox this past weekend we decided to stop in. We had a reservation (which I recommend). I felt bad as we were seated right after they turned away the elder couple ahead of us for having no reservation. The hostess was nice and sat us at a nice table by the window looking out at The Fox. Livingston has a surprisingly nice selection of bourbon. I decided to try a twenty year from the list which was good. I had the burrata and beet salad which was pretty cheap and filling. Gem lettuce, golden beets, pulled burrata, a nice acid heavy dressing. My wife had the trout which was prepared well, flaky and seasoned well.

Yelp
Don't confuse the current Livingston Restaurant & Bar at the Georgian Terrace with the Livingston Restaurant of old, which has inexplicably not reopened after the pandemic. It is surprising that a major hotel does not have a quality restaurant. The current Restaurant & Bar is really only a bar with a few tables. No reservations are taken. On the night of October 11, 2022, only one server covered all the tables, and hamburgers and cheese plates were the only food available. Wait times for service and food and beverages was prolonged.

Yelp
After getting our reservation cancelled at PDK, our group of six walked over to Livingston and to our (and their) surprise were able to be seated almost immediately. Not only were they hospitable, but they gave us one of the best seats in the house - upstairs and center, overlooking the Fox. Service by Oz was prompt and friendly, but the food quality didn't match the prices (~$30 per entree). Still, they saved us from Publik purgatory so I am thankful but we probably wouldn't come back just for the food.

Yelp
Lovely restaurant, conveniently located across from Fox theater, good choice for weekend and pre-theater brunch. Food: 3/5 - Brunch has good food and a nice variety of choices : For those who want breakfast. Egg, quiche, bacon, sausage, biscuits, French toast, fruit, etc. For those who prefer lunch -fried chicken, shrimp, grits, potatoes and a couple of green vegetables, etc., as well as a nice salad bar table. Desserts are plentiful & very good, ranging from 3 kinds of mousse, cheesecake, and pecan bars to cookies, cupcakes, and brownies. Facility 5/5. This is the outstanding part- located in a lovely ornate old (1941) hotel that has been modernized but retains its charm. Entryway lobby is an eye-catcher. Clean pleasant, quieter and roomier than the pub/bar-style crowded restaurants across the street where tables are side by side. Relax and enjoy lunch in a location where you can dine while carrying on conversations without shouting. Also pleasant are the outside tables with umbrellas. Service: 5/5 Location. 4/5 Handy for theater goers and people attending midtown events like St. Patricks Day parade. Several parking garages nearby. Currently (2018) construction makes sidewalks require a little attention when walking nearby.

Yelp
Very impressive decor. I walked in and was seated right away. They have like a ballroom theme going on and it's as delightful as the food. Wonderful experience here in midtown and one of the few places where my steak didn't require a steak sauce :)))
