The 25 Best Restaurants In Long Beach

"Long Beach’s most exciting oyster bar has a little something for everyone. From a platter of sweet and briny mollusks on ice and a fried oyster caesar to a mountain of fries covered in creamy seafood chowder, Liv’s in Belmont Shore isn’t afraid to let shellfish be the stars of the menu. Its sidewalk patio has so many string lights, you’ll feel like you’re eating under an old-school theater marquee. But if you’d rather sit inside, Liv’s long marble bar is the perfect place to bring a date. If you can, stop by on a Monday night to take advantage of Liv’s half-off oyster deal. And follow their Instagram for the latest on pop-ups and events, like a fried oyster pizza collaboration with another name on this list, Little Coyote.  " - garrett snyder, nikko duren, brant cox

Liv's is great! My wife and I go here often - consistently delicious food, great service, and a comfortable environment. Always a variety of tasty oysters from different places, and with their fresh-shredded horseradish and homemade cocktail sauce...dynamite! The salmon and scallop crudos are both on-point, and their lobster roll honestly rivals the best from Boston...do yourself a favor and try this place out!!

Google
We visited the restaurant twice now... and really like what's happening here. We've had a kicked up shrimp cocktail, and a beautiful pastor prawn dish with a lime crema , garnished beautifully with radishes & micro greens.... the texture of the prawns, quality and flavor is everything you need to know about what's coming out of the kitchen. Looking forward to exploring the menu further, and maybe trying the mid week happy hour .

Google
A great place for some social/family style eating. Came with a group of 4 and we had a great time splitting the Lovers Platter, Tom Kah Muscles, and the Salmon Crudo. Paired great with a Brut from Argentina. Everything was very good and the service was great! Picky Goat Approved! 🐐 happy stomach and clapping hooves

Google
Would give this place lower than 1 star if possible. I walked in at 8:30 (they close at 10) just to be greeted and told that they aren’t taking walk ins for the rest of the night. If you close at 830 then say that. If reservations are required then say that, absolutely horrible!!! Completely unwelcoming. Get it together I’d expect better. Look how much space you have open

We enjoyed our little splurge this Friday afternoon for our first time here. The staff was fantastic and very attentive. Of course 2nd street parking can be a challenge but 1pm got us right in front. Anyway, the food was good. I prefer fries with less of a char but I guess this is their norm. Plus, they’re still good. The fish on the Fish and Chips plate looks crispy but expect a soft crust with a very tender and very fresh flavor underneath. The restaurant boast fresh ingredients and they don’t disappoint. Although delicious, you can expect the Nashville Hot Fish to have the classic flavor without too much spice. Liv’s serves wine but unfortunately no cocktails. Stopping here for cocktails would be wonderful, however. The ambience is simple but eclectic and the staff makes the experience worth it. With our meal and two glasses of wine, our bill came up to about $118 which included a 20% tip. This was a great pre-birthday lunch. Would I come back? Definitely.

Happened to catch HH. Really good Korean beer with a fried oyster Ceasar salad (dressing was beautiful), a half dz oysters, and the Nashville Hot Fish with fries. The staff, food, service, decor were wonderful. The recommendations I was given were spot on. I hope they continue to do well and serve great food.

Wedge salad, oyster shooters, lobster roll, and flat iron steak. All amazing. Will 100% come back. Little pricey but we felt it was worth it. Good happy hour as well.

Google
Sat at bar for Social Hour. So many food and drink choices, including deals on wine bottles and oysters. Salmon crisp should not be missed! Knowledgeable and friendly staff, beautiful setting. Great spot! Thank you!

Yelp
This was a fantastic lil brunch spot. It's right by the water, but on a fun street. Parking was pretty easy, since there are lots of neighborhood streets. One friend had a difficult time finding a spot, but the rest of us found parking easily! There are heaters on the patio, so it's not too cold. There were cute decorations around. When I went to use the restroom, I did see the inside as a cute and more intimate space. Cozy!! The food was solidly delicious!! All really standard seafood brunch fare! Everything was great!! The drinks were adorable! Our server was kind enough to make us mock tails in fun glasses, as two of us were drinking and two of us were not. If you are looking for a great brunch spot, come here! We came on a random Saturday at noon and there was no wait. After we were eating, more seats were filled. So noon is a good time!

Yelp
I went to Liv's with my partner for the first time yesterday. We're both lovers of seafood and particularly love raw oysters and other raw seafood dishes. I don't think either of was expecting the quality and sheer deliciousness of what we had here. Since we hadn't had any decent seafood in a while we splurged on the Beach Tower which included raw oysters, raw salmon, raw bay scallops in a salsa verde, lobster, jumbo shrimp, caviar, crème fraîche, crackers and assorted condiments. Honestly, there wasn't a single thing we didn't like. The shrimp were enormous and were served with a in-house made cocktail sauce...and they were absolutely superb. Ditto to the salmon and scallops and lobster. Each was accompanied by a sauce which served to bring out the flavor of the main ingredient. The oysters were very good and on the briney side (which I prefer). We made quick work of the 16 we were given. The oysters were so good that my partner ordered an oyster shooter (non-alcoholic). I'd actually, surprisingly, never had one before. It was a raw oyster with mignonette sauce, hot sauce and dash of pickle brine. It. Was. AWESOME. So many flavors married to each other. We subsequently ordered another 4 from our waitress. Speaking of our waitress, she was really charming and eager to answer our questions. We came in early, so were the first for the dinner seating. The place has relatively simple decor, but, honestly, I was so absorbed with eating that I didn't really notice the interior design that much. A+

Yelp
Went a random weekday evening and got seated right away. This place is doggo friendly so we got to sit in the patio area. If you find street parking it's free but there's also meter parking and just beware if it says 90 minutes they are strict on 90 minutes. We got a bunch of small bites including the salmon crudo which was AMAZING. Only 3 pieces but omg soooo good. Wish it was 4 pieces lol. We also each got a bowl of chowder which was also amazing. Not too heavy on seafood taste or onions like other places. Just the right amount too. We also got the lobster roll which came with a little butter cup which was also pretty good. Not amazing though, I've had better haha. The oysters were also good, we got one bad oyster in a dozen so just be careful, neither of us got sick but after eating it we knew it was bad. Get the oysters LIV'S WAY cause OMG it was amazing! You don't have to add anything else, omg so good, yes it's $4 more PER oyster but so worth it to at least do it to one just so you can taste the difference. Omg so good. We also got some shrimp tacos. 2 come in an order. Wasn't spectacular. Might skip this next time. We got the hot spiked cider which is season for after dinner and OMG it was soo good. I usually don't like hot alcoholic beverages but this was so YUM. I wish I got my own but we shared. The toffee butter cake was really good but we were too full by then. I took the spiced cardamom cake home to eat at work the next day with coffee... wasn't as good as when we had it at the restaurant but still pretty good. Overall great meal, for 2 people it did come out to over $100 each but we did order a lot but for their small bites "social hour" menu, it's not much of a discount lol, for food it ranges from $8-$22 and for drinks $5-$12. We also got 3 glasses of wine each. Overall would 100% go again.

Yelp
I have walked past this place several times on second street and always wanted to try it. I am not a big fan of oysters but if course they have several other items on their menu. I did some research and they used to have a steak frites with peppercorn sauce but it has been discontinued. However they had what they called social hour where they were serving small bites for a reduced price. We went with fish and chips and hot fish sliders. It was absolutely delicious and they had very generous portions of fries... too much in my opinion but I guess better than too little. However they could reduce the amount of fries with 1/3 and that would make the dish better presented and they could save some money and waste. It is a very cool place with nice and trendy ambiance and we will definitely come back and try more things on the menu.

Yelp
We made a reservation but what we didn't know is that we wouldn't be sitting at a table. They seated our party of 3 at the counter by the window which made good conversation impossible. A friend of ours was visiting from Denver and we really wanted to be able to catch up with her life, hear how she's doing. But no. We shared a Shrimp Cocktail $20 and a Baby Gem Wedge $16. My husband ordered the Tom Kha Mussels $22, our friend had the Chowder $14 and I got the Lobster Roll $38. My Lobster Roll was good, but not worth $38. I can tell this place is really popular, a lot of regulars. But it's not somewhere I would come again unless I sat at a table and someone else was paying.

Yelp
This spot is a dream if you love oysters--especially on Mondays when they're discounted! What started as a go-to for oysters and Waylan wine (highly recommend) turned into us exploring more of the menu, and the tom kha mussels are a standout. The atmosphere is charming, both indoors and out, and the staff is consistently friendly and accommodating. As someone who's gluten- and dairy-free, I've always felt comfortable dining here. It's easily one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants!

Yelp
First Happy Hour of the school year and my friend whose bDay is on Sept has been wanting to try this spot. I arrived at 4:30 on a Friday with only one party there; but there were already multiple reserved seating placards on tables. I was asked if I had a reservation and my response was "did I need one?" There were only two tables for 4 available. One inside but for only an hour and one outside in the sun. We good the one of the patio outside. Social Hour is from 2-6pm, with limited options. 3 of my friends ordered the fish n chips, I got the shrimp tacos, and we shared the $38 lobster roll that had a small discount for "social hour" We also ordered wine, cider, and beer. The fish n chips was really fresh and not battered. They said it was good. I enjoyed my tacos. The twist was the "crispy shrimp" and jalapeño that gave it a little kick. Because we split the lobster roll, idk if I got the full flavor; but what I had was good. I could've done w/o the red peppers on top; but otherwise pretty tasty. The wine pours were extremely skimpy, and served in what mimicked a shot glass or candle votives lol I was not impressed with the Prickly Pear Cider. Flies!!! The Flies were such a major distraction while eating in the patio, it was frustrating. They only had one working device that spins at the table to keep the flies away (which tells me they know it's a fly issue), we were able to get it after a party left, and it was better. But my Gawd...prior to that it was trying to master shooing flies while covering drinks and eating food! Lol (hence my 3rating). Idk if I'd return for social hour b/c it was Mid (and not cheap); but my friend said she'd like to try for dinner. Tips: It's on 2nd St...parking sucks Sit inside if you hate fighting flies

Yelp
We got the lovers plate and the halibut. Both were really delicious, I think what makes the platter great is all their dipping sauces. The prawns were also so good. They were cooked perfectly. The place is pretty simply decorated but it was nice with a bag hook for my purse I definitely want to come back again.

Yelp
I came here tonight around 5:30-6pm only 3 or 4 other tables not even half full, got seated by the lady that said she would be taking care of me but that was false. I sat there for half an hour as they cut menus and tried looking up and getting service and nothing...after waiting over half an hour I just politely walked out and she said sorry and I said no you are busy I just wanted a good wine and Oysters...and good service. I worked 6 days a week the last 2 weeks and this was my treat. Thanks.

Yelp
What a quaint little restaurant off 2nd street. Great service, clean and decorated nicely. We came to celebrate my daughter in law's birthday. We each chose a fabulous meal and would definitely order them again. Try the lovers appetizer platter, so worthy and fresh! Every bite was so good!

Yelp
Service was great! Food was great! My summer salad was very tasty and I loved that it had cherries and a yummy yogurt dressing. They accommodated a large group (there were 14 of us with children) and were very attentive and the French fries came out fast for the kids. Music was great and I was dancing and bobbing my head to it. Only issue I had was that everyone else got their food at the same time except for me. I inquired about it and then continued to wait. I had to wait for it, for some time, and it was just a salad. I think they forgot about me. It was awkward since everyone was waiting for me to get my salad to start eating. I'll come back for that summer salad. And until then I'll be dreaming about that yogurt lemon dressing.

Yelp
This is my review for their speciality prix fixe experience. My husband made reservations for us here for Valentine's day. I'm glad he did because all those who didn't have reservations had to wait and sit outside. Our table was ready for us when we arrived. I went with the prix fixe menu but but my husband was glad to hear he didn't have to order from it as well. My menu was a 5 course meal. It included a potato coquette with caviar to start. The second course was a delicious salad with some bomb buttermilk vinaigrette. It was so good. The their course was their braised octopus which was so satisfying. For the main course, I got a choice between the swordfish or the pork tenderloin. Since Liv's is a seafood restaurant I went with their swordfish and it did not disappoint. The fish was topped with a nice argula salad. It was so tasty. To end I got their chocolate ganache brownie that was served with their vanilla bean ice cream. YUM! Oh and the wine I got there was really good and went well with everything. My husband got some crudo, jumbo shrimps, and oysters. All of which he loved. We both were really pleasantly happy with our food and our dinner turned out much better than we expected. Service was also great. They were really attentive and knowledgable. The inside of this place is small but it's nice and has an intimate vibe to it. It's great to grab a drink with friends or for a date night. I cannot wait to come back to try all their other dishes. I highly recommend if you enjoy seafood.
google avatar

Sid D.

Yelp
This is my second time trying out this place and they have got their seafood standard right! They have amazing quality of seafood and you can tell how fresh it is. We tried multiple different things. All fresh oysters were amazing and full of flavors. Thai style mussels were mind blowing - absolutely delicious and they got the sauce to the point. Out of all the dishes we ordered garlic shrimp had my spot light! Very garlicy, paprika, and the sauce - Simply WOW! We ordered bread on the side just to dip it in Tom Kha sauce and butter garlic sauce of shrimp. We will be coming back to try different food and yes I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Incredible service! The best East Coast Oysters (mostly from Canada #represent). The salmon appetizer was unique and so fresh! We loved their Gem Caesar Salad and will definitely be back for their Macadamia Nut Crusted Halibut!!!! It was so fresh, flakey and not over cooked. All around wonderful flavor! I was not a big fan of their Affogoto (I don't love espresso that has a citrus/sour zing!), nor of their olive oil almond bread/cake as it didn't taste like olive oil - but the berry sauce with it was so yummy! We will definitely be back for oysters, salad and their halibut!!! *** they do not have cocktails, only wine and beer, plus drinks made with wine and vermouth.
google avatar

Monica R.

Yelp
Cute small spot on 2nd Street. We came on a Sunday afternoon and luckily we got sat outside. It was such a nice day for seafood and beer. We ordered a dozen of oysters and some caviar, it was the perfect appetizer. For my dish I had the scallops and clams. The clams were really flavorful but the scallops didn't absorb too much of the flavor. It was still good and went well with the toasted sourdough bread. Ended our meal with the toffee cake. The seafood was fresh. My only complaint is they did take a while to bring our food out. Other than that the food and service was great.
google avatar

Victoria T.

Yelp
The food here is amazing! Calamari: So delicious! 10/10 very well breaded and the dipping sauces were so great. Caesar salad w/ fried oysters: 10/10 the caesar could use a little more dressing but it's perfect lettuce cut, the shredded cheese was chefs kiss! Not a huge fan of the fried oysters but also not an oyster fanatic. Nashville hot fish: AMAZING! So good- we were debating between the chowder and this... get the Nashville fish!! You can also do the seaside fries which are the fries with the chowder which was perfect!! Very much recommend this it's a way of getting just a little chowder but still the fish, which is more filling. Orange olive cake: 10/10 INSANE and bursting with flavor but still so light, it was perfect and delicious... a favorite! The cake was also still so moist just- chefs kiss

Yelp
Great food and service. The oysters and garlic shrimp are the best items on the menu! It is usually easy to get a seat. We will be returning.

Yelp
I had been wanting to try Liv's for a little while, a super cute restaurant that looked like it was known for oysters. I had heard about the fried oyster Caesar which enticed me the most. When perusing the menu online, I did notice that it seemed kind of pricey so I wanted to come during social hour. I made a reservation online and when we first arrived (5pm on a Friday) it was pretty empty, but quickly started filling up as it got closer to 6pm. Our waitress was really nice, helpful, and attentive. We started off with a bottle of champagne from the social hour menu and some raw oysters. Their oysters are really good!! Great quality and definitely worth the social hour price, they even have a 3 oyster and a beer deal for $11! Other than that, I would say this place is better for a date or small group because portions are small for the price. During social hour, it's cheaper but also for social hour sized portions so you're getting less food anyway. Overall, really cute place! I would come back for oysters and the fried oyster Caesar but everything else I think could be found for a cheaper price and bigger portions.

Solena C.

Yelp
It was alright. Definitely on the expensive side for what you're getting. Service was ok. Nothing impressive but their happy hour stuff is nice for small bites.
google avatar

Jeremiah S.

Yelp
Check this place out! Mia was amazing from start to finish, the oysters were great and the shrimp and grits were one of the most flavorful meals I've had at a restaurant in a while!
google avatar

Ciera T.

Yelp
Great prices and portions. Ended up getting the lobster roll and poke and both were delicious. Patio seating was such a great choice (fly fans available) and we saw they recently added umbrellas to help with the sun outside. Staff was quick and friendly.
google avatar

Renee N.

Yelp
I would like to start off by saying that we took the food to go. The service was friendly, and they answered my questions. It was a small restaurant and nicely decorated. Now, the food was not good. My son ordered the spicy garlic for $28. We also ordered 2 clam chowder, $14 each. When we got home, the order of shrimp was only 5 pieces. Total! That's it. My son said that there was no flavor whatsoever. Horrible and unacceptable. Not only was it pricey, but it wasn't even worth it. The clam chowder was also dismal. It was watery and had absolutely no flavor. It tasted like peppered water. What the actual? For the cost of this food, this is completely unacceptable. We could have gone to a local dive restaurant, gotten twice the amount of food for half the price. NEVER coming back here.

erika W.

Yelp
Tried this place with one of my besties on a whim since seafood was the food of choice. I was delightfully impressed. Calamari was delicious, we ordered it twice along with the Shrimp Cocktail. If you like horseradish, you'll love the house made cocktail sauce! Dessert was yummy too. We tried the Cardamom cake. I will definitely go back with my husband. It has a quaint date night appeal to it. The servers were friendly and attentive too.
google avatar

Catherine M.

Yelp
Great food and service! Don't forget to get the toffee butter cake! Love the intimate and cozy ambiance, too!

Yelp
530pm stop for some oysters, first time here -- very fresh and clean. i should've reserved an outside seat it was a beautiful day for the patio. waitresses were kind and attentive (felt a tad rushed when they kept mistakenly taking our utensil and plates while we were waiting for more). will be back for another social hour or 1/2 off raw mondays!
google avatar

Akisha E.

Yelp
Man what a let down! My husband and I came here after seeing an instagram post/video about Liv's. The video featured the lobster roll with hot butter. Since my husband and I are seafood lovers, we knew we had to come. We ordered a lobster roll and to our surprise they brought out a cold lobster roll and we were informed that the menu changes often and that the warm lobster roll is no longer on the menu. We didn't come for a cold lobster roll. What I got was a dry lobster roll bun, very little lobster with an abundance of celery. Celery on a lobster roll?!? And more celery than lobster?!? Was not a fan at all. It was not worth $35. The hand cut fries were good though. Definitely won't be back especially since I don't know what's going to be on the menu when I come.

Yelp
We were in Long Beach on a Saturday afternoon. We were headed to Belmont Shores when my husband mentioned he was craving oysters. Of course, my first move was to check out places on Yelp and that's how we found Liv's. So grateful! Surpassed our expectations and it's our new go-to oyster spot in the area. We arrived early afternoon on a Saturday and were lucky enough to get a table on the patio right away. Service was fantastic. Friendly and very attentive. She was also very knowledgable of the menu and the different types of oysters. We started with a dozen oysters. I like that you can choose a few of each and get a good sampling of what they have that day. We also chose to try to "Liv" style with creme fraiche, caviar and chives which were delicious. I don't think I could have eaten a whole dozen Live style because they were pretty rich, but great for a couple. We paired our oysters with a nice chablis and it was perfect. We also started with the bread and butter--wow that butter was delicious! Everything hit the spot on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. We were meeting with friends at the beach, so we could stay and try other things on the menu, but everything sounded great, so we'll definitely be back. I couldn't recommend this place enough, especially if you're looking for fresh oysters and wine. Cheers!

Frank S.

Yelp
The quality of the food is excellent. I've never thought of getting raw oysters to go but they have mastered it. The owner is almost always there to make sure everything is to your liking. It's a must.

Delish lobster roll and caviar with crème. Also this place is dog friendly ate this meal on their patio great vibe. Our waitress brought my pup a bowl of water as we sat outside.

Yelp
The food here is really exceptional. This place was exactly what I was hoping it would be. I wish I could have tried everything on the menu but this time, I did the grilled oysters and chowder. Both were great. The oysters were really well balanced with salty, slightly spicy, nicely acidic kick. I could have eaten 3 orders of them. The chowder was the thinner style, silky smooth and the pancetta added aome yummy bites. I have to admit i didn't have many clams in there. The overall vibe is hip and the purple cups add pops of color. The service was very good too. Will be back next time I'm in town.

Yelp
This place is super fire! The food inside is really great. A very small hole in the wall place but is very busy and the place is super tasty. Service was good, you walk through the kitchen to use the bathroom and it's nice Becuase you can see the operation. The lobster roll was probably an 8/10 Calamari 8/10 Mussels 9/10 Fried fish 9/10 Oysters 8/10 very fresh but the caviar style was salty

Yelp
We were greeted and seated promptly -- indoors for those without a reservation, it seems. (There are several tables inside and out, typically for parties of four or less.) Our server was helpful and patient as we went from a la carte starters and entrees to the Beach Tower - a very nice sampling of everything we were going to share anyway. The Beach Tower: My favorite was the Lobster Salad (on Ritz crackers,) followed by the Salmon Crudo. The crudo vinaigrettes were both a tad overpowering and drowned out the flavor of the seafood, IMO. Perhaps, that's just crudo. The prawns were tasty, bold spicy, but a little hard to shell and eat. For dessert, the Toffee Butter Cake was okay. The brownie-like cake was sitting in a pool of tasty toffee butter. And for some reason, the vanilla bean was nearly melted - so it was more like whipped cream. Unique selection of beer and wine, too. Street parking is at a premium here if you aren't willing and able to go for a nice stroll before and after your meal.

Yelp
New find in Belmont Shore, a cute little seafood restaurant, friendly service and fresh seafood menu. The Oysters are fresh , fish and lobster roll are great as well. Good portion for the price.

Yelp
Happy Hour= Fun Fun Fun. Why: the smaller plates-serving size allows us to save $ and try more & other items on the menu. We always start with The fried Calamari. It comes with 2 great sauces& the coating is tempura style and Not greasy. When temperatures colder = the small bowl of chowder , the potatoes are thin sliced as to not soak up broth. This Chowder is broth centric not "bread bowl -thick" The grand Finale: Shrimp layered onto grits then another layer of classic sauce originated by Paul Prudomme at New Orleans' Commanders Palace. This dish is Bold and Flavorful. Deeee-Lish Will continue to dine here.

Yelp
Came here just to try the toffee butter cake for desert. Haven't tried the rest of the menu yet, but do like this new addition on second street. Very nice interior with seafood forward concept which we don't have a lot of on second street. Service was fast and good. As far as the toffee butter cake, it was good, but definitely doesn't take the spot for best warm butter cake. I definitely want to come back and try other things from their menu!

Yelp
Happy Hour November 1 ,2024 Glad we got a Reservation because Liv's patio had more people than the popular Riley's next door. Liv's deserves a 5-Star due to consistency and a fabulous new dish: Shrimp and Grits. Growing up in New Orleans ,my family enjoyed Shrimp &Grits. LIv's does an Authentic Creole sauce tastes like what Paul Prudomme became famous for: rich and flavorful sauces. Other highlight of this dish were the ultra creamy grits with plenty of "Butta' The Shrimp were huge ,cooked perfectly. had a "crunch" and flavors as good as "Gulf shrimp" *NOTE : the Shrimp are prepared "Tail On"=IMO :best for this dish is to remove them with a knife = then fork-stab da'shrimp ...scoop some grits ..then swirl into the sauce. As one might hear in New Orleans "dat is some fine dining Cher' Other "5 Star quality" Items: Delicately battered Calamari (with 2 great dip sauces) Salmon Crudo Caesar salad with Char-grilled Oysters You get what you pay for @ Liv's and the Happy Hour can $ave you money Will continue to dine here

Yelp
Been wanting to try Liv's for forever, and the wait was definitely worthwhile. Located on 2nd street, Liv's is tucked away like a little hidden gem. It's interior is cozy, laidback, and intimate. They have a limited menu with wine and beer offerings. We tried a half dozen oysters, which are 50% off on mondays. They tasted fresh and delicious. The vinegar sauce was my favorite add-on. We also ordered the lobster carbonara and chowder bowl. The lobster carbonara was a bit salty but not terrible. The noodles were thick and chewy. The chowder bowl was delicious. So rich, creamy, and filled with little bites of seafood and pieces of lobster. Portions are a bit small, so the bread helped fill us up. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
We had been to Liv's in the past for oysters, but decided to go for dinner the other week and were so happy that we did! In terms of size, Liv's is small so we made a reservation in advance for a Saturday night and were glad we did because the restaurant was packed. We were seated outside, which was nice during the holiday season to people watch and enjoy the decorations on 2nd Street. Our server was super attentive throughout our meal. We knew we wanted oysters to start, but were unsure which ones to select so we appreciated our server's knowledge and advice on each type of oyster based on how sweet or briny they were. We ordered a half dozen oysters along with the crackers and caviar, which was a nice combination. We also ordered the fried calamari appetizer and really enjoyed how unique the dish was - the fried sliced serrano peppers were a nice addition and both dipping sauces had a really unique, but delicious flavor. For our mains, we split the lobster chowder and the shrimp alfredo pasta. Both dishes were AMAZING, but what surprised us the most was the pasta. We didn't expect such an incredible pasta dish at a restaurant known for oysters. The handmade pasta was cooked perfectly and the balance of pasta and shrimp was perfect in the alfredo sauce. We will definitely be back to Liv's again in the future!

Yelp
We initially planned to eat down the street but saw this cute place and decided to give it a try since they had happy hour on a Friday. I'm so happy we did because the flavors in every dish were very different from what we're used to but in a good way! And the service was incredible, Jessica was so friendly and knowledgeable. We're already making plans to return and try everything else. What we ordered: Oyster shooter (5/5) Shrimp salt popcorn (4/5) Fried calamari (4/5) 1/2 dozen oyster (5/5) Fried oyster Caesar (5/5) Lobster roll sliders (3/5) Nashville hot fish sliders (5/5)

Yelp
Liv's, we love you! Since Liv's soft opening, my friends and I have been coming here either for oyster Monday, Social Hour, or simply as a comfort meal on 2nd street. Surprisingly there has never been a wait here even when other restaurants have 1-2 hour waits, I'm not sure why but this place definitely needs more hype! The oysters here are DELICIOUS, 10/10. Love the condiments that come with it. We always get at least one of each to try since the OOTD changes constantly and you can really taste the difference between the different types. I'm pretty sure we have tried 80% of the menu (have missed some since it's seasonal) and I think everything has been fantastic: lobster roll, cioppino, fish & chips, lobster carbonara, seafood chowder bowl, salmon crudo, scallop crudo, steamed clams, fried oyster caesar, blue crab roll, and fried chicken sandwich (special), and their desserts! My favorites are: seafood chowder, the crudos, steamed clams, and cioppino. Always need to get more bread to soak up the broth from steamed clams and cioppino. Back during their soft opening, we were able to bring our own beer + wine, which was so much fun. Their been + wine selection now is great. Highly recommend their makku rice beer (passionfruit) and japanese lager if still available. Service here has always been amazing. Attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. Ambiance is cute, cozy and perfect for a date night or dinner with friends. Located towards the end of 2nd street near the bridge, parking is street parking and not as busy as the more central areas of 2nd street. Come for fresh oysters, seafood dishes, and great atmosphere/service!

Yelp
Liv's on 2nd has a stylish interior with a modern, organic-chic vibe. Their small, seasonal menu offers some real highlights. We had friendly, attentive service sitting at the bar. The chargrilled oysters were my favorite - perfectly cooked without shucking, and deliciously seasoned. I enjoyed the half dozen raw oysters too, especially the three specialty ones (1x oyster romanoff - crema w/ caviar, 2x w/ just crema). The lobster chowder had an interesting, unexpectedly thin texture - like a combination of lobster bisque and clam chowder. The fish and chips were generous in portion and came with tasty sides. Overall, a worthwhile spot for fresh seafood and a trendy atmosphere. 3.5/5

Yelp
Good spot for a late lunch. Service was good and food was simple and delicious. Bone Marrow & Oysters was a perfect combo I wanted to go with Lobster Chowder. Plenty of food. I'm glad I didn't order a salad. Sat outside for the view and soak up the sun.

Yelp
Please know that this review is not for the food as we never got to eat at Liv's. We placed reservations on Open Table for our wedding anniversary at 6:30PM yesterday evening. Despite it being a busy time in the area, we found parking and made our way to the restaurant and were about 5 minutes early. Upon checking in, we were told our oyster bar seats, that were reserved, were given to someone else currently dining. We were asked to sit elsewhere, which included an option on an uncomfortable stool with no seat back...or in the hot sun. We didn't want either. After a while, she said that we could wait 20 minutes and come back. We just decided to leave and not come back. We will never come back. There's plenty of other fish in the sea...

Yelp
Cute spot on second, great small intimate space with a patio and good ambiance. Love that there are oyster dishes and seafood but don't go hungry.. maybe a good ozempic meal ‍. The service was good and girls that work there are cute and nice.. Wine drinking type spot, to hang out and catch up, with a friend or two.
