The Best Restaurants in Palm Springs, According to Eater Editors | Eater LA

"On the lower level of the Palm Springs Art Museum is the charming daytime spot, Liv’s. The interior dining room is layered with pillows, bright wallpaper, and art; the outdoor patio is the ideal place to sit. Umbrellas cover tables that lose shade as the hours pass, and chef Gabriel Woo (who grew up in the Coachella Valley) created a menu to suit the space. Chicken fried steak and seasonal blintzes can brighten any morning, while the lobster roll and chickpea fritter panini are standouts for the sandwich section. The gorgeous deconstructed shrimp and lobster Louie looks just like a plate of art, and the shrimp scampi is for those who want a heartier meal with wine, beer, lemonade, or an Aperol Spritz." - Mona Holmes

The 25 Best Restaurants & Bars In Palm Springs

"“We’re lunching at the museum, darling.” There are only so many places where you can get away saying that, and Palm Springs is one of them. Run by the same chef as Bar Cecil, Livs is hidden within the subterranean courtyard of the Palm Springs Art Museum with a pool and art installations in the corner. It’s an impressive backdrop, but you’re here for the food, which is mostly midcentury classics done right. Think shrimp cocktail dusted with Old Bay, a curried chicken salad sandwich, and gooey tuna melts with spicy pepper jack. We recommend checking out the museum too, but you don’t need a ticket to eat at Livs." - brant cox

We were looking for a place to eat near the museum and found one with a LIVS yellow sign. We charged our Tesla nearby and walked to the restaurant for brunch. The place has a fresh yellow concept with a nice fountain at the front entrance. The lobster roll is delicious, with crunchy bread and a tasty signature sauce. The cheese blintz is a great option for a sweet breakfast. Service is good, I love this place!

What a beautiful restaurant inside and out! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We went for the breakfast menu and ordered eggs Benedict, an omelet with bacon, cinnamon roll and Bloody Mary drink. Presentation was nice but the food and Bloody Mary were really bland and flavorless. Cinnamon roll was soooo yummy. Will def go back when they start Thursday night dinners!!

My boyfriend and I decided to take the drive out to sunny Palm Springs to have lunch at Livs located at the Palm Springs Art Museum. Everything was phenomenal! We arrived around 1pm and was seated right away on their patio, our server Giselle greeted us right away and recommended us some amazing cocktails. We had the Mai Tai and their Margarita both were delicious. For food we ordered the Lobster roll which was amazing and had a generous portion of lobster. My boyfriend had the chicken curry sandwich and my daughter ordered the Livs Burger which I must say was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had! We finished it off with some chocolate chip cookies, and a cherry almond latte made with their house made syrup and it was delicious!! Afterwards we took a stroll around the museum because it was family day and they had arts and crafts/activities for the kids which was a fun way to spend our Sunday! I definitely can’t wait to go back and try everything on the menu! Livs is such a hidden gem in Palm Springs and definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area! Highly recommend ☺️

This is an absolutely fabulous place to have a meal! The parking is easy (covered garage or lot to right in front of it on the right side of the museum) and the staff and food made for a great experience. We love the space with the bright welcoming colors and the option to sit inside and outside. When I booked in June and saw that there was patio seating I thought “who would sit outside!?” but then when we went down into the patio space it was cool and lovely even on a very hot day. We did end up sitting inside, which was very comfortable. The food had great portions, at first we thought they were small, but they were just the right size. All the cocktails and drinks we had were delicious and the server was very kind to work with us on making sure we knew what vegan options were available for one of our party. We love that you didn’t have to buy a museum ticket to dine but it got us thinking about how much we want to visit the museum anyway! Will definitely be here again and look forward to even dining on a night of village fest.

Such a beautiful setting to enjoy a delicious and satisfying lunch. The ambiance filled with light and beautifully decorated. The staff was welcoming and inviting. Each dish was perfectly presented, mouthwatering and packed with delicious goodness. A beautiful addition to the Valley. We will definitely be back for more. Thank you Gabriel Woo for another awesome addition to the Valley cuisine.

Wow Palm Springs. This cafe is running to the top of the eat out in CA list. The restaurant is right in the Palm Springs Art Museum and boy oh boy is it a winner. Who doesn’t love a chef owned restaurant. I had the pancakes, imagine a whole new gourmet approach to the simple pancake. Imagine dining right next to a Henry Moore sculpture outside on a stunning patio full of art? Yes yes yes run don’t walk and try the newest world class dining bistro in the desert resort of Palm Springs. Art, ambiance, fab food, the chef’s wife is a doll and the food is BEST IN TOWN. I obviously want everyone to try this place! It’s fantastic!!!

I find few things more exciting than an art museum cafe and Liv’s is very much my new favorite. My husband and I were able to drop in while in town during their opening weekend and were treated like royalty by the fabulous owner. The service, food, wine and aesthetics were all perfection. Pro tip: wine and an app in the sculpture garden. Cheers!

Google
Great food, friendly staff, and outstanding service. You don't have to pay for the museum if you don't want to visit. Enter and exit by the side (North). The Tuna Melt and Lobster Roll were very good as well as the best Guac & Chips around.

Yelp
A new favorite! And in one of the best museum settings!! So great to have something special in that space. So far, dinner only on Thursdays, but fab breakfast and lunch offerings most other days. You'll want to support this Bar Cecil-connected lovely wife and husband team...we love them and the entire staff! Oh, yeah...the food is perfect...clean, simple, flavorful, creative. PS. Special shout out to the design team...name (for their daughter, Olivia), logo, design, swag!

Yelp
How great that the Palm Springs Art Museum now has a cafe that is serving delicious food! We enjoyed lunch there after touring the Frey House, and before enjoying the museum. Lunch was a perfect break between the tour and the museum visit. I enjoyed the Cobb Salad....it was one of the best Cobb salads I have had. My husband had the Chef's Special Breakfast which he said was wonderful. Service was friendly and attentive. You can dine inside in the cheery dining room or outside in the sculpture garden.

Yelp
I have seen many restaurants at the PS Art Museum over the years, and this one is, by far, the best. My entree and sides were absolutely delicious, and the dessert "Pecan Sandies" was freshly baked cookies that were so good, I ordered more and took them home. The setting in the sculpture garden is beautiful, architectural and artful. A total pleasure...

Yelp
We went to Liv's Thursday pop up at the museum and it was incredible. A thoughtful menu with quality ingredients in a beautiful space, brought together by a seasoned team. Very much looking forward to their opening soon, as this will be the perfect addition to the Palm Springs food scene. Highly recommend!
