"On the lower level of the Palm Springs Art Museum is the charming daytime spot, Liv’s. The interior dining room is layered with pillows, bright wallpaper, and art; the outdoor patio is the ideal place to sit. Umbrellas cover tables that lose shade as the hours pass, and chef Gabriel Woo (who grew up in the Coachella Valley) created a menu to suit the space. Chicken fried steak and seasonal blintzes can brighten any morning, while the lobster roll and chickpea fritter panini are standouts for the sandwich section. The gorgeous deconstructed shrimp and lobster Louie looks just like a plate of art, and the shrimp scampi is for those who want a heartier meal with wine, beer, lemonade, or an Aperol Spritz." - Mona Holmes

Run by the same chef as Bar Cecil, Livs is hidden within the subterranean courtyard of the Palm Springs Art Museum with a pool and art installations in the corner. It’s an impressive backdrop, but you’re here for the food, which is mostly midcentury classics done right. Think shrimp cocktail dusted with Old Bay, a curried chicken salad sandwich, and gooey tuna melts with spicy pepper jack.
