At last there is a modern Lebanese restaurant in Paris. Named after its owner, Liza, this place goes beyond conventions and is very refreshing compared to other old and classic similar venues. The interior is a mix of contemporary and traditional design. The dominant colors are white and turquoise. It is very relaxing. At our arriving we got some "amuse bouche" which were in fact cuncumbers with a yoghurt sauce. We ordered a glass of Kir (white wine and blackberry liqueur) and a glass of Arak which is a kind of Lebanese pastis. Like the French beverage, you have to pour some water in it. We ordered then Baba Ganouch (Grilled eggplant dip with citrus juice and shallots), two portions of Fatayer Djej (Chicken rolls with garlic and Lebanese pickles), Kebbe Nayeh (the Lebanese version of a Steak tartar - this is raw beef with cracked wheat) and Kafta Samak ( Sea-bream tartar with dill and chive). It was a festival of Lebanese mezze dishes. They were light, delicious and creative. As a main course we had a Kharouf Mehche (five spice lamb confit with rice) and a Daoud Bacha (meatballs with rice - in fact, the meat used is mutton mixed with pine kernels and onions). The two dishes were full of delicate spices and were worth every penny. It was so good that we even ordered some ice creams (rose, almond and pistaccio). All this was accompanied by a bottle of Chateau Ksara, reserve du couvent, 2004 (22 euro). We ended this perfect dinner with some mint tea. We had a great experience and I'd really like you to have the same so.... Go to Liza!
