"Located along the Chicago River, this Irish pub offers stellar views along with Irish, imported, and domestic beers on tap. Even your furry four-legged friends get in on the fun with a dog-friendly menu. Boozy cocktails are featured too, including an Irish Old Fashioned and an Irish Mule. Irish dishes like lamb stew, bangers and mash, and shepherd’s pie are available until midnight along with more traditional pub grub. — Lisa Shames" - Sam Nelson

This was a fun local bar just a few steps outside the Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk. It is right on the river with incredible views. We went on a Sunday evening, so it wasn't busy. Service was fast. I had a couple of beers and my friend had a couple of cocktails. It is an Irish bar. Being right on the river, I can imagine it would be an amazing spot to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. I will definitely be back, and highly recommend it to anyone traveling to this part of town. I would absolutely bring a group friends when I'm back in the city.

I was walking to my hotel and Lizzies was on the way. It was cold out and decided to stop in and check the place out and warm up a little. So glad I did. Great pour of Guinness and the soup of the day. I enjoyed it immensely. Check the place out if you're in the area.

We walked over from The Sheraton Grand since the hotel has limited food options. We waited only about 10 minutes on a Friday night and the wait staff was super friendly. Huge selection of beers and cocktails. We stayed with the Guinness BBQ wings which were crisp and moist and very tasty. Also tried the Chicken and Chips which was a huge amount of chicken fingers and fries. Had buffalo sauce on the side which they needed as the breading did not have much flavor. Other people in my party had burgers which they said were very good. This place is a great Irish bar located along the Chicago River. I want to come back in the summer as they offer lots of seating along the river with great views of the city.

All of the food is great. The waitresses are on point, and the outside patio by the river is excellent. Best happy hour prices in the city.

Walked over from The Grand Sheraton. We were there on a Thursday afternoon and it was very quiet which was great for our 6 month old. The fried cheese curds were just as good as they are in Wisconsin so I recommend that app! Overall our food was good and worth the cost.

Google
Very lively bar right off the riverwalk. Great energy and service. Cocktails were well made. My wife enjoyed the spicy tamarind cooler and I had the spicy ranch water. Fries were sooooo crispy, add your own salt and pepper

Google
Great place! It's right on the Chicago river. We sat outside. Very comfortable outside furniture. They have Pepsi products. The loaded tots with their ranch was so so good! You can tell they make their own ranch. I had the chicken strips and fries. My hubby has the shepherds pie. Both meals were delicious. Very affordable and clean. Our server was also great. I asked if we could bring dogs and he said yes. The Honkers Ale was great. It's one of their beers on draft. One downfall they charge a 2.50% "hospitality charge" on your bill. Oh they also have free self-serve popcorn. It was also very good.

Google
I loooooved the reuben egg-rolls. Yes, they tastes just like a reuben sandwich in an egg-roll, LOL! The bangers and mash were delicious and hearty. The food came out fast, service was just on. For a mid day lunch, the place got loud quickly. Prices are very affordable which is a plus. There were a lot of items on the menu that I wanted to try.

Yelp
Cozy gem in the heart of Chicago, perfectly located right across from the Marriott and along the Chicago River. If you're looking for a laid-back atmosphere with great food, drinks, and a touch of Irish charm, this is the spot! The setting is warm, with a welcoming interior and a stunning riverside patio that's perfect for enjoying a pint with a view. Whether you're visiting during a summer evening or braving the chill for a winter Guinness, the ambiance never disappoints. The food is classic pub fare with an Irish twist. From their hearty shepherd's pie to crispy fish and chips, everything hits the spot. They also have a solid selection of beers, whiskeys, and cocktails to pair with your meal. Service is on point as well. It's the perfect spot for a casual meal, happy hour with friends, or even just a quick drink while taking in the sights of the city. I'll definitely be back next time

Yelp
Situation right next to the Sheraton Grand, just take the escalators all the way and walk towards the Burger place and exit the double doors towards the river. Great service, serval servers from Ireland this summer. Awesome patio section next to the river, for the perfect non-muggy summer nights. Patio closes at midnight. Happy hour- Mon-Thur from 3-6pm!

Yelp
Tried out this pub on our most recent Chicago trip in Sept 2024. My husband wanted to see the centennial fountain shoot over the Chicago river since it's been off for 3 years, so we decided to stop for food and a place to watch. We were sat quickly and were the only ones there as it was a Monday around 11 am, but I'm sure it gets busier on weekends since it's on the river walk. We ordered the double dog basket, which was a great deal. $15 for 2 yummy Chicago dogs and fries! Paired with a cold beer, it was the quintessential Chicago summer meal. We sat on the outside patio but they have an inside restaurant across the street.

Yelp
What a damn charming bar. A real bar's bar. If you are staying at the Sheraton, this is the bar to go to. I recently visited Chicago over the holidays and found that the hotel bar closes early in the winter when it's slow. So, I went down the escalator and out the door by the burger place, and was greeted by the perfect local bar. To be fair I didn't try the food but what i saw going out looked good. I did have a few beers and each was cold and well served. My gf had a few glasses of wine and she enjoyed each. What struck me was that everything was exactly what you want in an end of the night bar. - Dartboard - Random young people yelling while doing shots. - two guys watching sports - and the perfect amount of Christmas lights and garland that says, "We try, but not to damn hard." It's perfect. The waitress was attentive and friendly and the bartender gave me a knowing, "knock that off" smile when I was drunkenly table drumming. To which I sheepishly shrugged and knocked it off, she wasn't wrong. Like I said, perfect bar. When you're traveling and you just want to end your night the exact right way, this is the place. It's everything a proper bar should be.

Yelp
Wow what a find!! Outdoor seating with an incredible view of the river and ... It doesn't stop there ; I had the fish n chips. The batter was excellent and the fish perfectly cooked! They were a little light on the fries but the quality of the fish definitely made up for it?! I SHALL BE BACK!!!

Constance M.

Yelp
Cubs Convention 2024! Stopped in again after we got our passes. We had chicken fingers and fries and they were delicious. The buffalo sauce has a smokey flavor which was delicious. Love this place. Go Cubs Go

Julianna S.

Yelp
Drinks were decently priced. Food was nothing special but hit the spot because it was so late. Hotdogs were better than the nachos. Felt like a neighborhood bar. Cool ambiance to watch and game and have some beers but food wasn't standout.

Daniel Z.

Yelp
Service was slow, bartender disinterested and The Lizzie burger was odd and tasted like thanksgiving spices.

Brian V.

Yelp
Service was great at the outdoor patio overlooking the river walk and beautiful Chicago River. The beer was cold and wine was excellent

Martina C.

Yelp
St. Patty's Day at Lizzie's and could the atmosphere be ANY more fun?! A HUGE crowd of The Crew from Q101, the greatest bartenders and staff holding it down despite the drunken lot they were tending to. Everyone was all smiles. While we didn't have any food, as it was 9am, the Malort and beer was flowing! Thanks Lizzie's for a fun time!!!

Joneice B.

Yelp
Came last year 2021 and it was raining. We stopped in here to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Still the height of covid so mask were required. In 2021, bag pipe band had came into the bar. It was amazing. Had the best acoustic inside the bar. Jump to 2022, we were in the area again and wanted to see this bar when it wasn't raining. Vibe much more lively this year as mask mandates removed and outside tent sent up. Lots of local streeterville patrons here. We had a beer and then headed to our other spot for dinner. We absolutely love the food at D4. It appears this place serves food but it was just too crowded to eat.

Maria E.

Yelp
Sick of restaurants pressing the customers to do THEIR job. If whatever chain/ whomever owns Lizzie McNeill's is too broke to run a business, make room for someone who can.

Mike O.

Yelp
Had the chicago dogs, they were fantastic. The view overlooking chicago river and the sky line was great!

Robin K.

Yelp
A true Irish pub. Really good food and drinks and open late which makes it an awesome neighborhood gem in Streeterville. 20% of the time had slightly slow service. Nonetheless, will return.

Karley M.

Yelp
This was a great low key spot near the river but off then beaten path a bit. My husband read that they had a great Chicago beef...and they did. We came on an off day for lunch so it wasn't busy, but I bet they get swamped on weekends and summer. We split the Rueben rolls and Chicago beef and both were amazing. Loved the free popcorn you could help yourself to, have us some real up north Michigan vibes. The Magners on draft was amazing and made us feel like we were back in Ireland. Overall slam dunk of food, location, environment and service. We'll be back.

Terry M.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere, great little pub by the river. Would definitely go back had a Ruben and a Guinness

Chris M.

Yelp
Spectacular Riverfront location and strong cold drinks... It doesn't get much better than this for Chicago, when you can sit outside and enjoy a beautiful summer afternoon watching the river activities as you enjoy good strong Irish favorites like Guinness or a few car bombs. Service was very attentive evn though the outdoor seating is a bit away from the main Pub. Drinks were great and prices were fair, Aloha

Prasenjit C.

Yelp
Pretty cozy little Irish pub (or maybe I found it cozy since it's right next to Sheraton and was the only good place open late). And 80s Brit-Pop! And Guinness! And Fish-n-chips! Nuff said

Jenni M.

Yelp
*** good place for drinks near the Navy Pier in Chicago *** ENVIRONMENT My brother and I spotted this place while on a river boat cruise. Lol. "Hey, let's get a drink there after this." Who am I avoid a pub when Irish eyes smiled upon many of my ancestors? There are high top tables and chairs and regular tables inside as well as a few tables set up outside. We enjoyed our drinks with a view of both the river and sports on the TVs. SERVICE The staff is so laid back and nice here. We appreciated getting to choose our own table. MY FAVORITE PART... It's within walking distance of downtown Chicago and a slew of other restaurants. NOT SO FAVORITE PART... We were two of only a few other patrons, however, it was late afternoon. THE DRINKS Drinks came out fast. Shots were filled to the brim - yaaaasssss! I didn't see but one bottle of Tullamore Dew on the shelf, yet, our waitress came back to inform me I had three choices. Right on! OVERALL Cool place by the river for drinks with good people. | Drinks: 5 | Service: 5 | Environment: 4 | Price: 4 |

Yelp
Got back from our conference late so walked next door and ordered the Irish Lamb Stew and the Lizzie Burger. Although the flavors were great on both, it was a tad too salty for me. I wasn't able to finish my burger. They did cook it to medium rare as I asked. Our server was great and is a Dubliner with a wonderful accent.

Kunal S.

Yelp
Lizzie McNeill's is the perfect place to go when you're a bit tipsy and in need of some greasy, satisfying bar food. For having a neighborhood sports bar feel, the food is actually quite good. The reuben rolls in particular stood out - they're literally a reuben sandwich in egg roll form! I was pleasantly surprised by the extensive whiskey selection, and our waiter provided stellar service. I'd recommend checking this place out whenever you're in need of a drink and some simple, yet delicious bar food!

Lexi M.

Yelp
A nice place to pop in for a drink. The bartender was a Packers fan so that wasn't a good way to start off... lol. They do have a pretty tasty Bloody Mary, but the food menu wasn't as desirable.

Liza A.

Yelp
A low key option for a beer right off the River Walk. There's plenty of outdoor seating. Dogs are welcome - larger dogs even have plenty of space to stretch out.

Dani R.

Yelp
Great Irish bar right along the water. A ton of beers on draft with great variety and wonderful service. Wish I saved room for dinner, some shepherds pie. Windows line the waterfront and was convie next door to the hotel we stayed at.

Jacqueline B.

Yelp
We came here for the first time this year to have a post movie meal. I realize that Sat is a very common party day, so when we came several tables were reserved and we had to sit at the bar. The bar is ok but kind of hectic, esp when people have to stand behind me. The music can be over loud, but with so many tvs for sports, it can be fun. The staff is knowledgeable, and in the day, the view of the river is awesome. But the bartender was great, we got drink specials and shared a corned beef sandwich. They have a good mix of local and mainstream beers. He even gave us separate plates, and though I asked for cole slaw, they brought chips. He let me keep the bag! They have the popcorn stand still there too. I wonder if I don't go more often bc I'd be too tempted to binge on it!

Gerrit K.

Yelp
Excellent Irish pub right on the river with great service, delicious food, and a nice patio. We hung out to enjoy a quick dinner and a few drinks prior to our architectural river cruise, so the location was perfect. Since we had limited time, the friendly server was very accommodating to take both our drink order and food order at the same time and get it in right away. We ordered almost every single appetizer and split them all. They were so good that they were devoured almost immediately, leaving us wishing we had more time to stick around and enjoy more of their delicious food. While the wings were nothing to write home about, the lamb stew was amazing, the cheesy fingerling potatoes were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, the reuben rolls were perfectly delicious, and both the sausage platter and pretzel bites were devoured immediately.

Tumpale M.

Yelp
I was in the area with a friend and we stumbled across this place. The drinks were good and the pub burger that I had was really good! We ended up getting some pub popcorn and threw some darts. They were playing a lot of rock throwbacks which was fun. The only critique I had is that they only had 1 burger left by the time we arrived, so my friend couldn't get one as well but he ended up going with the wings and he really liked them.

Glenn P.

Yelp
Lexi, our server was phenomenal. Her beer recommendation was spot on. Food was good but not over the top. This is a casual dining spot just off Michigan, behind the Sheraton Grand. It worked for me due to its proximity to the Sheraton on a rainy night. Much better food options than n the area. I'd go back to see Lexi and drink cold beer anytime.

Carmine C.

Yelp
Nice patio in good weather; beer is good: food... nope. Rebeun was Grocery store deli meat . Not what one wouod hope gor

Daisy H.

Yelp
we went to Lizzie's three nights in a row and it was such a fun little pub :) the service was great (they even recognized us and remembered our orders which was wild and fun). Beer options were great!

Paula H.

Yelp
We enjoyed going here and sitting outside. We went twice, once during the day and once at night. Good: it's more secluded than the restaurants on the riverwalk side. The food was great. The service was professional. We did notice when we went at night that the crowd was more 'energetic' as you would think.

Tabbatha P.

Yelp
We stopped in to get a drink while walking the river and making our way to the "bean". It was our first time to Chicago and we were a little lost but we're excited to see all the sights so stumbling upon this place after walking a way and being a little warm and possibly a bit cranky with the map was PERFECT! The bartender was friendly and they have our favorite sugar free Red Bull and crown apple! The best part was the bartender was honest. He asked if we wanted tall glasses since he had to charge us for the Red Bull anyway and when he ran out of Crown Apple for the second drink he told us it was on the him. It's small things like this that bring people back!

Scott S.

Yelp
Came here for St. Patrick's Day. I'll have to say it was put together very well. If you pre bought wristbands you were able to skip the long line and walk straight in. Once in the door there was a beer station set up. We easily were able to get beers here and make our way through the bar. Having multiple beer stations around the bar made it easy to get a drink never took me more than 5 minutes to get a beer. They also had a grill were you could purchase food! Hot dogs, pulled pork/chikcken, corned beef etc. prices were between $6-10. But maybe the best setup there was the porta potty's. There were around 20 of them! Never had to wait more than 5min to use the bathroom. I give them an A for preplanning they were prepared for a huge crowd. The only negative was No green beer except for a tap in the outside tent which was too overcrowded to make your way through for a beer.

Sheila C.

Yelp
I came in mid afternoon on a Saturday and the place was really busy and rambunctious. My server was really friendly and helpful. I got the lamb stew and GOOD GRIEF! Huge chunks of potato & carrot & lamb & whole pearl onions and OMG the broth! Finished with the Bailey's cheesecake and I was in heaven!

Michelle C.

Yelp
Fun local bar with plenty of seating options inside and by the river on nice days. Bar staff is friendly inside. Can get loud and crowded with big groups from the hotels. Used to love the karaoke nights where there are some talented singing regulars.

Maximilian W.

Yelp
I've used Lizzie McNeills many times for business meetings and company events. I can say that, on all occasions, this location knocked it out of the park. It close enough to conference centers and hotels to be accessible and close enough to the river to feel tucked-away. What more can you from a quaint irish pub.

Max W.

Yelp
By far, one of the best irish pubs in the city. It could be the best, but I'm speaking with bias. I recommend that everyone who visits chicago should visit Lizzie McNeills for the ambiance or food. You can't go wrong with the fish and chips, bangers and mash, or Italian beef. You can go horribly wrong by not ordering rueben rolls, drinking a Guinness, or interacting with the excellent staff.

Gene O.

Yelp
I was out here for business and came in late one day because this was the only spot open super late next to the Sheraton. You definitely have to get the Shepards Pie! Great spot where lots of locals go to after work.

Jaclyn M.

Yelp
New favorite place in Chicago right on the river. Awesome food, drinks, service and great views.

Kile S.

Yelp
Right behind the Sheraton Grand. Cozy place that I've stopped at twice this week. Food was good both times. Generous serving size. Drinks are also great. The river is right outside. Good value for money both times I have stopped in.

Gurleen K.

Yelp
Super fun Irish pub! Right on the river too and the food and beer is good. The staff was really friendly too.

Tim S.

Yelp
Great neighborhood spot in Streeterville. Had a lot of seating outside near the river and inside also. Love that you can bring your dogs to the patio and inside! Makes it a top choice when deciding on date night and want to bring the dog along! I went last Friday and our server Vince was very attentive and quick. He also loved our dog! Way to go Vince and keep up the good work. I will be back and hope to become a loyal customer!

Kate B.

Yelp
Lizzie McNeill's has always been a fun place to drink but most people wouldn't have made a special trip just for the food...until now. They've done some beautiful renovating and the atmosphere is still as fun as always. They've completely re-invented their menu. Some really creative items on there. I ordered the McNeill Club to go and it was out of this world. Chicken beautifully seasoned - not at all dry, the super-thick bacon was like, ALL bacon-little fat, the sourdough bread was spread with the perfect amount of garlic aoli and pickled onions and bibb lettuce and sliced tomato was OMG superb. An innovative take on the traditional Club Sandwich (snore). Not really huge a fan of french fries...until now. Theyve nailed the seasoning. Pictured is HALF of what I took home. Was able to finish the rest for lunch the next day. I love that their kitchen is open until 11p.m. and excited to try everything on the new menu.

Ezra A.

Yelp
Amazing, Amazing, and Amazing. Lizzie's stands out above all other bars through their spot on management, kind staff, and what is genuinely the best food I've had from a bar yet. The manager John helps us with catering and always knocks it out of the park. I've never met a staff member that was anything less than wonderful. Amazing atmosphere, a ton of fun for events and watching sports games. So so lucky to live close to Lizzie's!

Terry D.

Yelp
Stopped by last night for a drink and today for lunch. Had Ollie for bartender today. Very attentive, looked my card and called me by first name several times during my visit. Small detail but makes you feel known and special when ur grabbing a bite by urself in a new town. Typical Irish type bar but Reuben and fries were very good. Irish red ale on tap was cold and refreshing after walking to the pier. Ollie have some great advice on supper choices also. Nice familiar place. I'd go back.

Michael W.

Yelp
First time in, stumbled in during a walk about with some out of town friends for a pint and lunch. They ordered the chi dogs which looked fantastic. We ordered the bbq pork nachos which were generous with the pork. The only thing we would tweak is to loose the fake yellow cheese, it was the pour spout variety. Located right on the Chicago river, this is a great spot to meet with friends and catch up. The service was friendly, in fact, we ordered some drink specials and turns out the board had not been updated but they honored the specials anyway. Thx Lizzie! The prices were reasonable given the area, it had a neighborhood feel to it, and the furniture was nice and worn looking, none of this brand new Irish bar motif nonsense. Also worth mentioning, for payment, they brought a mobile device to the table and you were able to conduct the entire payment process yourself.

Lu-Shien T.

Yelp
Raucous sports pub with a nice selection of beers on tap. Quick attentive, efficient servers and solid Irish pub food. Perfect for your post conference hang out! The room is obnoxiously loud with a crowd but the outdoor seating area is a good option during nice weather. We ordered an Irish stew with a Guinness and enjoyed the vibe.

Steve A.

Yelp
It doesn't look like much on the outside. Well, actually it doesn't look like much on the inside, either, although it does have the usual pub appointments. And a free popcorn machine! It's also not particularly Irish, although there are a few dishes and brews that nod in that direction. That all said, we really liked all the food we had. We started with guacamole (which must be Irish, since it's green). It was obviously freshly made, chunky, and served with a mound of super fresh tortilla chips. The chef's salad with balsamic dressing was good, and the Chicago dogs were authentic right down to the green sport peppers and green relish (both obviously Irish). Perhaps the best item was the chili, which was thick and rich and surprisingly spicy. On nice days there is a large outside seating area under the trees along the river, which is really lovely.
